Blues In The Key Of B is the third installment in the ongoing story of a blues singer for whom the blues is all too real. In this offering, new mother Bobbie Brooks faces unforeseen troubles as she continues the fight to keep her life on track and hold her family together. Meanwhile, her niece, Tomeka, has a story of her own to tell. Fans of Bluesday and Lovely Blues, get ready for Blues In The Key Of B!
Married at sixteen, a mother twice by seventeen, and thrice a mother and divorced by twenty-four, Adrienne Thompson is no stranger to adversity. Not your typical teenage mother, she went on to complete her college degree and to earn her nursing license. She attributes God's faithfulness as the catalyst for her success in life. Now, having raised three children as a divorced mother, she is sharing a long hidden talent and passion with the world. Using the lessons that life has so expertly taught her as a guideline (betrayal, abusive relationships, self-esteem issues, witnessing the deteriorating effects of drug abuse), she has created stories that will both entertain and inspire the reader.
Adrienne currently resides in Arkansas in her newly empty nest. Formerly an RN, she now writes and publishes her stories full time. She is also a motivational speaker.

What a read! If you've read any of Adrienne Thompson's novels before, you know that she just doesn't do sweet, light-hearted reads. She takes her characters through some things, and we, the readers can't help but strap ourselves in and get ready for the ride. I truly felt like I was on an emotional roller coaster ride while reading this book. I gasped, got mad, then anxious, then teary-eyed. I read it at the hair salon and my stylist kept looking at me like I was crazy, lol.
In this book, we get yet another look at blues singer, Bobbi. Bobbi has a lot of issues, and instead of being sympathetic to her, I must confess that she irritated the heck out of me. She just got on my nerves. I kept thinking she was so blessed, why can't she just settle down and enjoy her life? But her demons were pretty strong (and that's not this author's style). Now, I've loved Reggie since the first book, but when the story takes a turn and things get crazy, I was super confused and started giving the author a mental side eye and screaming, no, not Reggie! I'm so glad this book was not that long, cause when the suspense kicked in, it kicked ALL the way in, and I had to know how things would be resolved.
Bobbi's niece Tomeka also had a storyline which was interesting. I rolled my eyes so hard every time Tomeka got a letter from Abraham, thinking he was running game on her, and was completely shocked with the way things unfolded with those two. We were left with a bit of a cliffhanger, so I'm hopeful that we'll get a follow-up story on them. I can't even begin to imagine what Ms. Thompson is gonna take them through.
Adrienne Thompson has done it again………Blues In the Key of B……..excellent and well done. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat…so many emotions. Bobbie Ann is dealing with postpartum after having her baby, Faith. We need to remember to have faith in God. With God all things are possible……Excellent book…
For some women love make them do crazy desperate things to get a man back or to be with him. Crazy love ! I love this read again Adrienne penmanship keeps me coming back like a boomerang . I'm excited for the new release especially for "Ain't Nobody" .How soon is soon before this book is released?
Man, Bobbie Ann took a break from singing the blues but now she's living a life full of blues; one thing after another keeps happening until she's lead to turn back to drinking. Omg she met a sexy drinking buddy who ended up being a godsend in more ways than one. Definitely a very interesting read! Hopefully we get to find out what her niece Tomeka has gotten herself into by running away with an older man?
In part three Bobbie and Reggie were still going through with so much. Bobbie with the baby blues and then Tomeka acting out, that was just a smidge of the drama this time. And then the baby goes missing. Yes things aren't always as they seem. Reggie cheating on Bobbie wasn't one of the choices. But you'll see as the story unfolds that Bobbie and Reggie have a strong bond. The PI named Martin who came in to help look for the baby was a refreshing addition to the story.. A good read.
