Alan Marsh, a former Army Ranger, is living the American dream. He loves his job as a high school guidance counselor, has a beautiful wife, Nicole, and a comfortable home in the suburbs. This idyllic life is far-removed from the trauma and battle scars of Alan's tours in Afghanistan, and now, his next big mission is to start a family. But the dream unravels when Alan begins to experience bizarre hallucinations, visions so real and violent, they debilitate him and threaten his sanity and existence. Determined to seek help, Alan turns to his friend and psychiatrist, Dr. Alan Friedman, but his worst fears come to light when he hallucinates and has a blackout at a neighborhood cookout. At Nicole's insistence, Alan escapes the public humiliation by going on a much-needed vacation, but things turn tragic when Alan and Nicole are viciously attacked by three men-including their next-door neighbor, Dan. Nicole is gunned down while trying to save Alan, and now he's on the run as he's hunted by his mysterious and ruthless attackers and the police, who believe he murdered Nicole. Aided by his military training and a motley crew of friends and allies, Alan is caught in a deadly game of cat and mouse as he searches for the truth behind the attack before he gets caught-or killed. But as Alan discovers the truth, and a web of lies and deception leading to the halls of government, he discovers he has a dark and deadly past that he never knew existed. Alan Marsh is about to wake up. And when he does, all bets are off.
