The women of Shipwreck Key are strong and resilient, and they all want the same things: happiness, friendship, and love. They bond through their book club meetings and their shared love of sisterhood, supporting one another through thick and thin, and honoring each other’s unique stories and personalities.
Stephanie Taylor writes a romantic comedy series about a fictional island called "Christmas Key," as well as several other standalone romance, YA, and middle grade titles.
Listen…if you like to read, you need to put Stephanie Taylor at the tip-top of your read next list… This series is called Shipwreck Key, which is amazing!! The people!!!!! The details!!!! The storyline…I can’t give high enough praise! There is also a series Stardust Beach, that puts Stephanie Taylor in my number 2 favorites spot…I think even Stephanie Taylor will understand, there’s no topping reading The house on the Prairie Series by Laura Ingalls Wilder, since I was 8 at the time and she gave me the love of reading.. Well done Stephanie Taylor…Top Kudos for Molly’s story!!!!!
Stephanie has out done herself. This book is so enjoyable because it takes us all around the world on an adventure. The research for this story is on the mark as the main character sails around the world. She’s finding all kinds of answers about people and herself. It’s a little humor, mystery, and personal understanding. Maybe we all could use a little of that. I did.
While I admit I prefer when Taylor covers her characters’ biographies and they are a bit juicier and dramatic, The Breakaway was a nice adventure of a young widow and her travels around the world. I learned about islands’ customs that were unique - a definite break from the classic African or European cultural knowledge. Taylor also does a great job of translating a variety of snippets of language throughout this book. If you want a (mostly) light-hearted adventure that also progresses the overall plot of the Shiprwreck Series, grab this book.
Book 5 and probably my favourite since beginning this series. Living books written by women about women for women touch a special cord for me and this series has not disappointed. The featured character of this book is especially significant as her experiences shared are those many of us dreamed about but maybe never had the chance to have. The writing paints the picture so wonderfully and Molly opens the door to read and dream. It’s almost as good as being there. ❤️
Very interesting read. Truly explains that we never truly know each other unless we know people’s experiences. The descriptions of the places Molly saw are wonderful. You almost feel like you were there with her. Love the reading and seeing how the characters develop with each book.
Stephanie is an incredible author and I think this was my favorite so far in the Shipwreck Key series. As a young widow myself, Mollys journey was inspirational and showed an entirely different side of this wonderful character.
There is so much more to Molly's story yet to be discovered.....what an intense ride this book takes you on! Now I really need the next book in this series!
