He quickly discovers that this is no ordinary law firm. All the workers have special talents and are often called upon by the government to help stop situations that the government can’t solve themselves. Banyon finds that many of the female employees are very different and alluring. He is on the job for only a few hours when a major crisis arises. War between Mexico and the United States is brewing, and he needs to find a way to defuse it. Someone is creating disasters on both sides of the Rio Grande, and they must be stopped. Loni and the Patel sisters are not around to help. They have left the country for an adventure of their own, one in which they have the opportunity to find a valuable treasure. Only Eric Grey and Banyon are left to solve and stop the crisis. They employ several of the law firm’s contract employees and set about finding answers. On top of that, they must deal with murders, kidnappings, bombings, and a Mexican hit squad out to kill them. They soon discover that the Effort, the longtime American Nazi organization, is involved, and Banyon hatches a complicated plan to take down the leaders. He then lures the hit squad to Las Vegas for a final showdown in one of America’s national parks. But things never go as planned.

An interesting read this. I've read one in the series before but am not working through in any particular order. The main character and his sidekicks are 'special', special in a suspend belief/mystical way, which isn't normally my sort of thing but there's a good attempt at mixing this with the real world. The author has a cute 70s outlook on femininity which mostly revolves around believing females are there to titillate and that they glory in that role. It's a fun distraction within the plot and doesn't hurt it. The plot is great and fast moving, there are definitely original ideas here; you'll need to gloss over real world practicalities occasionally in your head, but the strong plot overrides these. It was an unexpected, 'couldn't put down'. I would dip into more of this series in the future.

Jerry. You have to have your ebook version proofread. It has dire grammatical issues, especially in the second half. I don't score down for this as I am okay reading past these/translating, but others will not be happy.

Gerald J. Kubicki and Kristopher Kubicki’s seventh Colton Banyon novel, A Dubious Position, is written with an interesting mix of superstition, mystery, humor, somewhat magical characters. The reader follows the protagonist, Colton Banyon, through a series of intertwining events that force him to use his resources promptly in order to save the lives of the American people. Colton Banyon represents a modern day superhero, except doesn’t obtain the traditional super powers; instead, he has a supernatural sidekick as his weapon for contest. The Kubicki’s blend together a combination of modern day government with the fantasy of old-time comic books.
Colton Banyon works independently with his private team, yet, in A Dubious Position, he is now challenged to use the resources the government has provided for him to keep the USA safe. Colton must save young women from kidnapping in Mexico, prevent the declaration of war between Mexico and the USA, while also bringing down their own fellow American government representative from his corrupt and devious plan to take down the president. Throughout this havoc Colton’s main task of bringing down the Effort, a longtime American Nazi organization, intertwines with the current uproar America faces with Mexico.
The most appealing piece of the novel is the characters. The Kubicki’s bring variety to the characters and offer them an edge giving them a specific purpose throughout the story. The female characters share many of the same characteristics; however, their skills serve a purpose for Colton Banyon’s ride toward saving the people of his country. In addition to these diverse characters, the Kubicki’s write back and forth through scenes and settings which would seemingly confuse a reader; instead, the chapters are short and make it easier to move through the novel and catch each of the multiple crisis’s and clout of mayhem Colton’s character is introduced to. The novel straddles between a teen male adult and adult crime/mystery novel allowing a wider audience to appreciate the Colton Banyon series and the action his character encounters.

A Dubious Position (Colton Banyon Mystery #7)by Gerald J. Kubicki
I received an e-book from the author for an honest review. A Dubious Position is an interesting read due to adventures that Colton and his team complete. It is a fast moving book with lots of adventure and action to keep the reader engrossed and waiting to find out what will happen next...
The book also has a mixture of mystery, unusual characters that support Colton, along with some humorous actions and a bit of romance. We follow Colton through a sequence of intertwining events that compel him to use his resources at a moment’s notice to save the lives of the American people.
Colton Banyon works independently with his private team but this time he must use the resources of the Federal Government as well. Which involves a unique law firm with some interesting employees—contracts which he must use, this was arrange by the President. One of the most interesting parts of the book is the characters that he uses to complete his missions. The female characters in my opinion use their femininity very well in addition to their other skills to aid the men on the team. This combination works well and everyone shares the responsibility to help Banyan complete the missions. Colton also relies on his spirit friend Wolf, who only he can here to help him. While helping the President of the United States with the rescue of his granddaughter and other girls captured for the sex trade. War between Mexico and the United States is brewing, and he needs to find a way to neutralize it. Someone is creating disasters on both sides of the Rio Grande, and they must be stopped. A Mexican hit squad is contracted out to kill them. Colton lets his live in girlfriend, Lani and the three Patel sisters go on a treasure hunt to keep them safe with Wolf watching over them. The team soon discovers that the Effort, the longtime American Nazi organization, is involved, and Banyon hatches a complex plan to take down the leaders. He then lures the hit squad to Las Vegas for a final showdown in one of America's national parks.

I gave this book a five star rating. Looking forward to reading more in this series and what kind of characters Banyon will use to complete his other missions. In addition, the situation with the Patel sisters is intriguing me with their relationship with Eric and Lani, Colton’s girlfriend.

Uncorrected copy/Thriller: Book #7 of the Colton Banyon series. I have really mixed feeling about this book.
Good Morning America did a story of some sort on George Clooney this morning. While Colt is middle-aged, I really don't see him as Clooney, Brad Pitt, or my future ex-husband Keanu. I picture him as more of a punchy Ned Beatty or Gil Gerard. Yet, all these younger nubile women throw themselves at him. It must be the money.
I liked the premise of setting and Colt's character to a point. He just seems indecisive at times and really needed a backbone; not just with the two girls, but everyone. I liked the whole supernatural aspect of the book, but at times Wolf made situations way too easy. I really liked the writing style of short chapters that made it easy to read during my breaks at work. I liked that only important facts were brought up from past books without bombarding me with useless information.

Why did the book lose so many stars? One word: Mandy. I couldn't stand her. I wanted Colt to get a gun and shoot her, strangle her corpse, and throw it in a lagoon of piranhas. Heather at least knew when to shut up and take orders. Mandy is an immature child who pouts when her boss gives her an order she doesn't like. She throws herself at Colt sexually and can't figure out why a 63 year-old man might feel creepy about a 21 year-old parading around naked. Granted, Colt has the sexual maturity of a 15 year-old teen and likes the attention; or he would be more careful to lock a door every once in a while! But with fiction, you need drama.

My biggest peeve is Colt picks Mandy to be a bodyguard (of course) and he even has reservations about her being able to kill someone if necessary! Well Colt is old enough to have seen the movie "Brubaker" with Robert Redford, which was based on a true person. If you haven't seen it or it's been a while, the most intelligent decision Warden Brubaker makes when he arrives at the prison is who will be manning the watchtowers. The towers are watched with armed prisoners, usually with several kills. Brubaker orders that only prisoners with one kill are allowed on the tower. Why? Because a man with no kills will hesitate too long and a man with too many kills will shoot too quick. Mandy is the former and should have never been brought on the mission. She never, never follows directions or even listens to directions unless threatened with job termination. Even then she doesn't listen. I could never figure out if she was just low IQ, had Asperger's, or borderline autistic. But saying that is probably an insult to people who have those conditions because she has something fundamentally wrong with her reasoning of consequences. It's one thing to be a sexy Bond girl and it's another to insulting to every female born.

Disclaimer: I was given a copy of the book from the author for an honest review. While I would not mind reading any prior books in the series, I don't think I would want to read and future books in the series because of Mandy.

The beginning of the novel clearly helps the reader see what the underlying theme of the novel is going to be about. Nazi operatives intermingling in the U.S and Mexico, wanting to wreck chaos. This is not a historical novel, but an interesting take on what could happen if a group like that could infiltrate major positions in governments and other agencies.

Characters do have some spunk to them, definitely would benefit from reading earlier books to get more of a sense of the characters. At times it can be hard to connect, but whether more background would be more beneficial.

Events pick up pace, people in important positions are exposed. Mexico tries to go to war against America. The drug and sex trade going to go under unless they point governments in another direction. Focusing their attention away from them.

A lot of sexually charged energy amongst the characters. References to temptation, various attractive women involved in one man’s slightly messed up life.

The novel moves at a fast pace as the chapters are short, getting straight to the point. The main character as an interesting (shall I say) sidekick, giving him information about cases that no one else could possibly know.

A number of strong female characters pop into the picture.

With the plot including Nazis merging into present day society, and although some aspects aren’t realistic, it creates a fascinating subplot.

The characters work well together, although the main character is a male, the female presence of other characters is strong. Although the undertone of the book has a serious note, in many parts it is quite humorous. An easy read that would probably make many men jealous of the main character.

An exciting but uncommon finish, excitement building as you see plans coming together to catch the people responsible. You get a real sense of the horrors that occur, and how so many corrupt policemen in Mexico can wreck havoc.
The novel covers a variety of events that lead up to the main ending. It is quite a fun read with the frivolity of the characters, and the unusual help the main character gets.

In Gerald J. Kubicki and Kristopher Kubicki’s crime thriller, Colton Banyon is a veteran at being the President’s right-hand man in ensuring the safety of the United States. Tough, resourceful, and clever, Banyon knows how to get the job done. However, in the seventh book in the series, he learns that sometimes one can’t get by without a little help from his friends.
Colton is given a new job by the president to work at a law firm where he encounters many interesting co-workers. There’s Mandy, the lightning-fast and limber young receptionist, as well as Timmy, the world’s best hacker, and Heather, whose sexual prowess tangles the senses of anyone she comes into contact with. With a legal Justice League of sorts by his side, Colton receives aid in saving the President’s granddaughter from the Mexican sex slave trade, just one factor in the brewing war between Mexico and the United States. The authors swirl between past and present in the novel, showing the long-standing presence of Nazis. In this fast-paced novel, Colton must stop bombings, traitors, kidnappings, and the Mexican hit squad tracking his every move. It climaxes with an unforgettable showdown between good and evil, leaving the reader reeling in the aftershock.
The authors have a colorful cast of characters in the novel, weaving an interesting combination of humorous and terrifying people throughout the plot. However, the women in the novel leave more to be desired; their looks seem to be valued more than their personalities. Also, random tricks seem to be thrown in haphazardly, such as the fact that Canyon has an ability to talk to a ghost named Wolf. The novel seems to try and do a lot at once, finding success in thrills and faltering in plot holes and character development. Despite this, the foundation for the novel and the passion for writing are clearly strong. With a few tweaks, Colton and his gang have the potential to be larger than life.

In Gerald J. Kubicki’s and Kristopher Kubicki’s novel, A Dubious Position (the seventh Colton Banyon mystery), you discover that Detective Banyon has been recruited by the President of the United States to join the Dewey & Beatem law firm, which has to be the strangest company I ever read about. There, he and his ragtag employees assist the President in covert missions to prevent a war between Mexico and the United States. Along for the ride is Wolfgang Becker, a spirit who helps Banyon with capturing and killing members of the Effort who are American Nazis. Will Banyon and his motley crew succeed and save the innocent people as well as themselves? Find out!

Having never read the Colton Banyon mystery books, I had no idea what to expect. Yet each page drew me in further and further into this spectacular and magical world. I was completely enthralled by the action and suspense, even though Banyon wasn’t even physically present in most of these missions. The Kubickis sure know how to create a great mystery; every chapter is succinct and so inventive. I also love how the chapters end in an enticing way, making you want to read more and more.

All in all, this was a grand adventure. I wasn’t at all lost, but I was captivated by the witty and raunchy, but not over the top banter. I was surprised over and over by where the plot was heading towards and even by the character development. Reading this book made me want to read the previous mysteries and see how it all started. I’m especially curious about the ghost Wolf and his origin story. If you’re looking for an on-your-toes thriller, this is definitely it.

Book 7, in the Colton Banyon Mystery

This is a series easily read in no particular order and after three books I can assure they are an interesting and captivating read from start to finish. On one hand, “A Dubious Position” has kept the series’ mystical tone while on the other hand has distracted us with original ideas and providing a suspenseful and fast moving plot populated with a mix of mysterious and appealing main characters. This latest definitely has a strong blend of old-time male fantasy and a lot of sexual innuendo.

Once more, Colton has to face one crisis after another that needs to be solved and with the help of his usual team and of course Wolf the ever present spirit to guide his every move and make everything go smooth and be successful. The adventure takes place on both sides of the US/Mexican borders.

In this story Colton works for the President as a contractor for a prestigious law firm who employs the strangest of characters: nuns, priests, illusionists, porn star, and a young athletic woman. They are there to assist Colton on covert operation sanctioned by the President. Their mission is to prevent Nazi operatives intermingling in the Mexican and the Unites States affairs. These characters spoiled the pot for me. They are a bunch of starved sex individuals acting like idiots, totally unprofessional and very annoying. This aside, I like the steady pacing, the short chapters straight to the point narration, and how the author has weaved into his plot a humorous side with the more serious situations.

Although I found parts unappealing, at the heart, “A Dubious Position” is quite exciting and is one I enjoyed nevertheless.

A Dubious Position, by Gerald and Kristopher Kubicki, is a phenomenal novel that will allow readers to step into their imagination. Readers will enjoy the exciting journey of Colton Banyon. Hired by the President of the United States, Banyon must save the President’s daughter and other individuals. Due to the severity of this specific hostage, Banyon connected with a spirit throughout his journey of rescue.

As readers get deeper into the novel, Banyon’s team of unique individuals, which provides Banyon with support. However, it is the spirit that makes Banyon ahead of the game. There is a major task list for Banyon to accomplish, which consists of the following: saving the President’s daughter, preventing a possible ward, and putting the end to a past and currently present Nazi-related dilemma.

Based on reading this novel, the flow was quite enjoyable. The constant interaction with the characters definitely provided an engagement and connection between readers and characters. Kubicki’s character development brings a sense of boldness to all characters. This specific thriller allows readers to stay at the edge of their seats and yet experience an easy read.

In Gerald Kubicki and Kristopher Kubicki’s novel, A Dubious Position, Colton Banyon must save the President’s daughter from kidnappers in Mexico, which happens to be related to the Nazis. Countless of times, the President confides in Colton to get any requested job done and with perfection.

In every given project, Colton is always given the best work setting. This time, Colton is given an office at a law firm and extraordinary colleagues, who will help him get to the President’s daughter. However, help wouldn’t be totally accomplished with out the help of Wolf. The spirit of Wolf gives Colton complete insight to the kidnap of the President’s daughter. Wolf gives Colton first steps to the situation and then Colton relates this information to the President.

This specific novel is past pace, which is represented through twists and turns. The twist and turns will keep individuals connected to the characters. The development of the settings was quite remarkable. I enjoyed the transition of the past to the present. Overall, if you’re looking for a thrill, definitely enjoy A Dubious Position.

Wow!! What a good book!! This was my first Colton Banyan mystery. I have to say really I loved this book. It was hard to put it down. I was hooked from the first page. Their are some wonderful crazy characters . I loved that Colton is 70 and still has so much get up and go. It was cute how two 20 something girls were after him but he was a good man and didn't cheat on his girlfriend Loni. This is a fast paced mystery that will keep you on the edge of your seat but still it will make you laugh. There is one crisis after another that Carlton has to solve with the help of his friend Eric. You also can't forget wolf his spirit guide who is the biggest help of all. While Colton' s girlfriend and the Patel sister look for a treasure in the dead sea. All I have to say about that is I hope at 50 I will have the body to run around on a boat naked like Loni did with the Patel sisters. I really hope I have the chance to read more Colton Banyan mysteries. It was a real treat to have the chance to read this book. I won this book on the goodreads giveaway and I would like to thank the author for sending it to me.

First I would like to state that I have received this book through the Goodreads giveaway in exchange for an honest review. I would like to thank the author for giving me this opportunity and honor in being able to read this book. When I received this book I began reading it at once. I really enjoy the authors writing style. This book was a very interesting read. I have not read any of the author’s books before but will be now. The plot is wonderful and fast paced. It is written with an interesting mix of superstition, mystery, humor, and somewhat magical characters. The main character seems to represents a modern day superhero, but does not obtain the traditional super powers. Instead, he has a supernatural sidekick . You don’t have to have read the others to be able to read and enjoy this book. All the characters are very well portrayed thought out. When you are finished you wish you weren't. This is a most wonderful read and I highly recommend that anyone read this book. A must for anyone's library.

I want to read these as if they were ice cream...all at once. This is my third Colton Banyon mystery. I simpy love these characters, although with this particular book it felt a little like I came in the middle of a scene, and that can be a bit discombobulating.

Colton Banyon now works for the President as an "Alpha contracter" stationed with Dewey and Beatem, a prestigious law firm with some of the oddest characters around: nuns and priests who aren't, an illusionist who even gets Bayon mixed up, a former porn star and a young very flexible woman. ( these books are all more than slightly full of sexual innuendo, I'd give them a PG13 rating). Again they are all after members of the neoNazi group, The Effort.

This time the question is who EXACTLY is running our government, and that of Mexico. It's up to Colton, and his regular group to figure that out...and do something about it.

Mr. Kubicki writes a great book. He addition of his sons as co-author and cover illustrator make this a very enjoyable read, as,so far, this whole series has been

A Dubious Position: A Colton Banyon Mystery # 7 by Gerald J. Kubicki

Cloton Banyon is starting a new position for a law firm , primarily based out of Chicago. He will be working for the President of the united states. Everyone at the firm has their own special talent, talents they will need to solve situations the government can't.

Banyon has some dangerous jobs to doone being stopping drug cartels In Mexico. He faces bombings, kidnapping, murders, and even an American Nazi group. A fast paced action filled thriller. The story is smooth and easy to follow. Banyon is a no nonsense kind of man, a strong male lead. I would like to read earlier Colton Banyon Mysteries. Those who love action and thrilling mysteries should enjoy A Dubious Position.

Wow!! That is my first thought after finishing A Dubious Position. I couldn't put it down, read it all in one afternoon/evening, I have never read any of the Colton Banyon's mysteries before. This is # 7 so I have some catching up to do. It didn't matter that I had not read any of the others to understand this book. I have to say there was more action in the shortest amount of time that I have ever read. Never knew what might possibly happen on the next page. I really do like the concept of Wolf that can tell Colton things that are happening if he is given names and any details. I like that he is not allowed to tell him the future. I will say the only part that was a little difficult for this 50+ yr old woman was a how great the ladies in the book looked walking around in the nude. Too bad we can't all look that good.

Fast paced plot with ongoing action. The main character Colton Banyon somewhat typical day is what some people go through several life times.
How often do people have access to the U.S. President and can save people without even being at the scene? But our hero manages to do such things constantly causing him to becoming a target as well as his quirky staff.

He employs people who are not what they seem and they find a way to keep him on his toes as well as the people close to him. The secrets that have to be maintain in his business and personal life in order to keep sane and remain intact.

A cast of memorable beings as they intertwine to save the world from evil.

Another great parody by Kubicki. I guess I'm more in the spirit of things this time out.

Colt Banyon spends an eventful first week at his new position for the government. He saves the President's granddaughter in the first few minutes. He saves more people, defuses bombs, takes down Nazis and Mexican cartel hitmen, and that's even before leaving the office.

I enjoyed the comedy involved with his fellow office workers, too, and there's some threads for what is sure to be a following novel.

I enjoyed it quite a bit.

Colt shows his ingenuity as usual with his psychic sidekick Wolf, and together they set to dismantle all the evil plans the Effort schemes up. Without sexy Loni and the Patel sisters by his side, he has found them in attractive and deadly girls in his new company. Colt kicks ass off the Effort's evil plans I should say, with flair and minimal civilian damage.

If it were to be on film, this series should be pretty good.

This book came to me from Goodreads, which has no bearing on my recommendation. I thought that the book took off right from the beginning, and it had a good story line. It flowed fairly well throughout. The only problem I had with the book was the glaring typos, which sort of tripped me up, especially when I was reading a good part. Other than that, there was action, along with a few laughs thrown in. A good read for either sex to enjoy!!
