Autumn Days: Let's Look at the Seasons, by Ann Schweninger, describes different times in the Autumn, and what happens in Autumn. The weather in autumn is described, different food, vegetables, and fruit that can be harvested in the Autumn, and what all kinds of animals do and eat in the Autumn. What insects do in Autumn is also described. An activity to make a leaf wreath is described, and Indian Summer days that can happen in Autumn, when the weathe becomes warmer again. All things that happen in Autumn are desribed in this book, including how Autumn is different in other places on earth because of the equator, and Thanksgiving and Halloween.
I give this book 5/5 stars. I loved how the book described every part of Autumn. It described the weather, how the leaves change color, different holidays, and more. This would be a great book to have when teaching about the seasons, especially since it has an activity already in it to make a leaf wreath. That would be a great class activity to celebrate and learn about Autumn. Great book overall, and very good to have in the classroom.
The non-fictional picture book is about the season of Fall. It includes the first day of Fall, what crops grow, what insects appear, how to make a wreath, what is is called "An Indian Summer," how and why leaves change colors, what Autumn is like in other parts of the world, and Thanksgiving. This is a good book for teachers to use when focusing on specific aspects of the Fall season and it has nice drawings of animals in the Fall.

Autumn days describes what a typical autumn can contain. It gives the reader an insight to the wildlife typically seen, the vegetation, as well as fun activities that are really only for fall (such as leaf piles). This book also describes holidays found within the autumn season. This book uses colorful imagery to help children make connections from autumn to things they know (such as food they eat or holidays they celebrate). I give this book a five star because it is a quick read that will help students understand what makes fall different than any other season. It shows cute characters who are having fun and doing different fall activities.
This fun little informational book looks at what happens during the months of autumn. It shows what happens with the wildlife, insects, plants, weather, planet, and people during this season. I recommend this for mid elementary students as there is a quite a bit more information here than a book in the early elementary level. This book didn’t hold my interest for long, but do not hold that against it. I say it is good for children with an interest on how the seasons and the culture surrounding it change from year to year.

Feels like a cast of Calico Critters taking a look at the season with crafts and activities included. In the Autumn book there is a page of an old-school Thanksgiving play that I felt was better off skipping.

Although this is classified as a fiction book, it could easily be looked at as a non-fiction book. It is full of information about the fall and what happens to animals, plants, and insects in the fall. I think it would be a great book to read to children who are just starting to understand the seasons because it is simple, yet informative.
