counting this for Loverboys by corvuscrowned

As post-war violence and tensions rise, it seems as if there’s no hope to unify the wizarding world. Except, maybe, a manufactured relationship between resident Saviour Harry Potter and known purveyor of the Dark Arts Draco Malfoy. (The fact that they detest each other is beside the point.)

But as Draco’s unrelenting mind games begin to wear him down, Harry has to remind himself that it’s all fake. The relationship is fake. The affection is fake. The pet names, the romance — even the engagement photos are fake.

But there’s something in Draco’s kiss that might just be real.

honestly was too bad but i kinda expected better. no angst or anything. when they were acting like they hated each other it was always just out of spite and i kinda wanted more from an enemies to lovers. they also ended up being lovers without any real buildup or climax tbh. it was kinda just mentioned and then the next focus.

3.5 Enjoyable read.
Some annoying grammatical issues (pronoun misuse multiple times)
Some plot holes especially w police procedure (though this is from the 90s & my knowledge is solely from criminal minds and shows of the like)
Some parts just seemed like clickbait to make the story more excitable
but I guess that’s the media world after all 😃

Still good twist and turns that kept the book going at a good pace. Not bad for a random thrift store pick up

This book is a little bit dated, but had so many plot twists that I couldn't put this one down. Highly recommend

This book was all right. The writing style was a bit difficult to get used to, but I eventually began to enjoy the way it made the book sound. It somehow fit into the journalism aspect quite well.

I was never able to connect with the main character. She never became likable to me at all. Lucy seems to evolve believable throughout the story, but she is the only one. None of the other characters have enough distinct personality to really connect with, and so their growth seems a little forced as a result. The one other potentially interesting character is mainly related through memories, limiting them to be seen only through the eyes of the other characters.

My main complaint about the book is that, partway through, the ending becomes obvious. There were a couple of small surprises, but the main twist was too apparent too early on. When I finished the book, having known how it was going to end, I wasn't left with a good sense of satisfaction. A more casual reader may not pick up on the hints right away, but anyone who reads closely enough or stops to pay a little more attention to the detail will find themselves unsurprised.

Overall, I can only say: it was okay. It did not blow me away, but it was a good way to spend some time. I would recommend it to someone who would like a read on a rainy afternoon.

This book was really interesting!! I read it in just a couple of days because it was hard to put it down. It is kind of scary, and sometimes you get a little confused, but all in all it's a very good book. If you like crime, you should definitely read this book!!

Okay so the first time I read this I was so mad and I cried at the ending and was never ever going to read it again...and then I did many more times. I love this book, it hit in all the right places. The tension is great, the rawness of it is great and honestly it would make for a great movie.
