Fated Mates, Incorporated- The premiere dating service company. They promise to find that perfect someone within three pairings.
Liz stepped into the waiting room for Fated Mates, Inc with trepidation. Driven to the dating service by her meddling family, she walks in hoping for something but expecting nothing. What she received was a chance encounter with a hunky tattooed man. Byte happens to be interviewing for his first date assignment as well.
A building-wide power failure causes a lockdown that throws them together and the sparks fly.
Lea lives in Western New York with her hubby, three children, and miscellaneous critters. Before the rugrats, she lived a life of adventure, following her husband all over Europe with the US military. She’s slept in a car outside Paris, drove six hours just to see tulips in the Netherlands, and knocked ash from her shoes at Pompeii. Now she spends her time in life’s adventures at soccer games, PTA meetings and school plays.
Lea has loved reading from a very young age, spending many sleepless nights devouring books. Science fiction and paranormal were her favorite genres to read as a teenager, and that love bled into her adult life. She started writing during a bout of insomnia, to fill time, and found it filled a creative void. Now she communes regularly with the characters in her head and tries not to laugh out loud when they say something funny.
When Lea isn’t reading, writing or corralling kids, she enjoys watching movies and sciencey shows, or just kicking back and listening to some music.
*WHEW* What a hot, little read! I thought that Liz was quite sweet and spunky and Byte was *OH MY GAWD* HOT with his NUMEROUS TATTS and MULTIPLE PIERCINGS!!!! *SQUEAL*
Bravo, Ms Barrymire for your first foray in self publishing!! Can't wait to read more from you and this series!!!
I have only one word for you, Mrs. Barrymire: WOW!
And to anyone out there wondering if they should give this little quickie a shot, all I'm saying is: what?! You still haven't tried it out?! However did you manage to live this long without reeading it?!
Liz Peters is your every day mouse in the corner, the awkward bookworm with the weird tastes in sex - at least, according to the men in her romantic life so far. At the age of 23, she's tired of her touch and go efforts - and her family and friends trying to hook her up with someone via futile blind dates. So, she decides to give Fated Mates, Inc. a try - they guarantee to find you your significant other with three dates or less, so what's the harm? It's - at the very least - a new experience. And meeting Byte, the tattooed gorgeous hunk, during her first date assignment, is certainly one of said experience's perks.
Quickies like Byte Marks are usually what we readers overlook. Most of us don't believe they're worth our time. I beg to difer.
Because this particular quickie is a definite proof that there are hidden gems in EVERY genre. Gems just like... well, just like Byte, actually. A hot guy with tattoos and a Harley. The kind of guy our mothers would warn us to stay away from and we would still stare hungrily at. Only, Byte is so much more than just your typical inked bad-boy riding a purring two-wheeled "beast". He's a man with a great mind, witty humor that is nowhere near insulting someone, and a gentlemanly persona that, combined with his sex appeal, could make even my own mother undone in his capable hands!
As for Liz, well, there is no actual physical description of her - am I allowed to admit I didn't mind it in the least? I could actually picture myself in that room with Byte. Double the hotness, waiter, I think I'm sold!
She was funny, and cute when she was shy, and yet her thoughts showed exactly the way we female readers feel like. Such a misunderstood bunch we are...
Thank you, Mrs. Barrymire, for showing what a great treat tattooed men can be. And for gifting this super hot quickie to the world!
P.S.: Only problem was, there is no real-life agency like Fated Mates Incorporated. Unless there is - wouldn't be the first time I found out about something belatedly. If so, where can we sign up?
***I received the book from a FB Giveaway. The opinion stated in this review is solely mine, and no compensation was given or taken to alter it - unless you count Byte's hot mouth as compensation.***
Liz is super shy and decided to get help from Fated Mates, Inc. to find a date. They promise a match within three dates so she should be excited right? Well, if she could quick ducking into the bathroom to recover from a panic attack, she just might.
As Liz makes her way through the door into an ordinary waiting room, she’s given a clipboard with some paperwork to fill out. Do they really need to know her favorite positions and sexual preferences?? Liz is called back in order to complete a face-to-face interview, but has some concerns when she’s taken to a room with a computer, lounge chair, and a virtual helmet. Just what were they going to do to her?
After the interview she meets Byte, another customer who enters Liz’s interview room by mistake. She is a little put off by the many piercings and tattoos but soon realizes he is just as awkward and shy as she is. Byte apologizes and leaves Liz alone waiting for the interviewer to come back with her interview results.
The power goes out and Liz is frightened until she hears a knock on the door and Byte’s sexy voice on the other side asking her if she has light in her room. Liz invites him in and finds herself locked in a room, in the dark, with a sexy stranger. What’s a girl to do?
I really enjoyed this quick read. I love how Liz and Byte overcame their shyness and got a little, okay a lot, naughty in the Fated Mates interview room. I also loved the little twist at the end. It’s a great filler book if you need a short, sexy read.
I had to read this book to see what it was about. Now you look at this cover and tell me that you wouldn't want to see what this book is about.
Not that I am complaining but this book was nothing like I thought it would be. It was short and had a little storyline. So I was happy with the outcome and will read more books by this author.
I must admit that what drew me in initially was the cover which features one of my favorite models, Matt Savard. I decided to check it out and wow, what a surprise. I liked the idea of this and the end was unexpected, but good. Very hot,but short. I wish this was longer because I wanted more of their story.
Very short story. Unfortunately too short to really make it anything other than a long sex scene. More development of the characters and storyline would make it really intriguing.
Liz signs up to a new match making place & comes into do a video profile which is interactive. While doing that she also has a date that she thought was real with Byte aka Julian who is to her "wow". When her "dare" ends she's disappointed that it was only virtual & not the real thing. But, as she leaves she does meet the real Byte & they make a real date.
That the gist of the book; I left out what happened in their virtual date as you need to read it to experience it.
