It was fun to read a mystery set on the Fourth of July on the Fourth of July. 🇺🇸🧨 🎆
As far as the story, I liked how this mystery was a bit low-key and had no murders. It took a little bit for me to remember the characters and their backgrounds—and I pretty got Michelle and Chelsea mixed up a few times at least, but it eventually came back to me. There were enough suspects that could have felt overwhelming, but the authors did well on making it easy on my brain to keep straight. I will say that I’m finding Michelle a little annoying though, particularly because of her messy dating life and wanting chemistry with a guy. I’m going to need her to get it together or it’s going to be difficult to read the next book in the series. 😅

After enjoying Hours We Regret, the prequel to this story, earlier this year, I was interested to see what this book contained. The authors sent it out as a series of emails, and although it took me months to get back around to reading it, this ended up being a lot of fun.
If you’re hoping for a high-stakes mystery, this isn’t it. And in my opinion, this story isn’t as strong as the first mini-mystery in this series. But from the perspective of character development and a familiar situation going wrong, this is a delightful read. I love these characters, and it was so much fun to see them growing in their strengths—and failing in some of their weaknesses, too!
If you’re looking for a fun, light, quick read, and have already read the first book in the series, I’d recommend you check this out. If you haven’t read Hours We Regret yet, be sure to read it first; this one does contain spoilers for that book. Overall, this was a fun read. I’m looking forward to seeing what the authors come out with in the future!

This is a cute series with twin sisters as the main characters. Michelle is always trying to solve the mystery while Chelsea tries to reign her in.

Another fun jaunt with these characters! I didn't find the story quite as tight as the first one, but I loved the twins' further character development and the introduction of their adorable little town. 💙💙

Like the first novella, we have a light, faith centered mystery that can be read in one sitting. This one centers around the 4th of July celebration in Maple Springs with a mysterious fire that turns the picnic into a lot of chaos. The sisters Michelle and Chelsea work together to try and figure out what's going on in their amateur sleuthing. I like this doesn't have any murder in it, just them trying to figure out the happenings in the town.
The cozy mystery element here is fun because it has the small-town charm, family moments, and that wholesome “faith and family” tone that makes the series generally easy to enjoy. Novella length makes this easy to read quickly and just enjoy it for what happens.
Where the book is starting to lose me a bit was the ongoing romantic subplot with Michelle. After breaking up with her boyfriend of two years for seemingly no clear reason other than she isn't sure what she wants or if she still loves him anymore, she really needs to make up her mind for me. She is entertaining attention from another guy after her break up with Kyle, and Kyle is still hanging out as friends all the time with her and she still has these mixed thoughts throughout so it's just she now seems a little inconsistent or frustrating. With the aftermath of that potential relationship, I found myself wanting her to either take time to reflect or make up her mind or something. It’s hard to root for her romantically when she feels so directionless in that area. I know that's realistic but still a bit frustrating. I am hoping book 3 clears some things up :)
Overall, this one was a quick Christian cozy mystery with a fun summer setting and family-driven plot. While the mystery side holds up, I’m hoping the next one bring more clarity and maturity to Michelle’s romantic storyline.

This is a fun mystery! It's a quick read - the kind that can be devoured in an afternoon. It's also a perfect summer read, since it focuses on a Fourth of July festival.
I really enjoyed the lighthearted tone! The first book (Hours We Regret) deals with some heavier topics, but this book adds more humor to a low-stakes crime situation instead.
I liked Michelle more in this book too. She still seems impulsive, but it creates some very entertaining situations and sibling banter! (Although, I did find her indecision about dating relationships a bit distracting from the overall mystery.)
As for the faith content, it's clear the characters are Christian by their thoughts/prayers. I was hoping for more Bible verse references and details like that, since book one included them somewhat frequently, but I'd definitely still recommend this as a good Christian mystery novella!

This is the second book in the Watson Twin’s Mysteries. It was a quick, cute novella and I am would suggest reading the first one, Hours We Regret before this one. I am looking forward to the next book.

This was my second mini mystery in the Watson twins series. While the story remained fun and easy to follow, I felt that the story lacked some of those simple truths from the first book. Unfortunately, I did not really like Michelle's character in this one, which I was disappointed by. I found her to be super pushy and she seemed a little too flirtatious with Kyle for someone who just broke up with him. Also, starting a relationship Conner only to turn around and lose interest in him a couple weeks later when the initial fire dies down is a big ick for me. Relationships are to be based on a sacrifice of love for a person, not the passion of feeling. Anyway, enough of a rant, I'm hoping to see Michelle figure out what she is really looking for and grow as a character in the next one. I'm also a bit of a shipper for Chelsea and Kyle cause I think they have great chemistry and I am really hoping that's in the cards for them.

This was the first book I read from this author. It was a sweet novella with amateur sleuths figuring out the mystery. It had wonderful characters, a page-turner, and with some inspiration.

Chaos We Unravel is the second book I’ve read by A.M. Heath and the third book I’ve read by Amanda Tero.
While this book can be read as a standalone, I encourage everyone to read the first book to better understand the characters.
This mystery was fast-paced with lots of potential suspects. I enjoyed that I felt like I was trying to solve the mystery alongside the characters.
There is light romance as Michelle dates a new character. However, there seems to be a recurring theme with Michelle that makes her an iffy character for me: she dates a guy, then wants her freedom, and then changes her mind again. I’m anxiously waiting for her to either stop dating or finally choose a man.
Overall, the book was a quick, enjoyable read. The sibling dynamic is dramatic at times, and the mysteries are clean and fun.

This is the second Watson Twins Mini Mystery and another fun easy read. They are perfect when you want a cozy mystery without a murder. I love the story and how we have both Michelle and Chelsea's points of view. The twins have a special connect but are also very different. Michelle sees a mystery in everything whereas Chelsea is much more cautious.
This time its July 4th when a series of events happen. They are at the town park for the town to celebrations for the 4th when chaos happens. I won't say more except they do intend to get to the bottom of it. We then see the different approaches of the twins and the banter between them.
It's a sweet novella and I am glad I was able to read it. If you are looking for a light read give these books a try.

I enjoyed reading this book. It is well written and easy to read. Being a novella, it is a fast read, as well. I love Chelsea and Michelle and seeing their differing personalities come into play through the story. Their internal conversations are fun. It would be best to read "Hours We Regret" before reading "Chaos We Unravel" just to get the full picture of who Chelsea and Michelle are and how Kyle fits into the whole story. I liked the mystery and trying to solve it along with the characters. I look forward to reading more books by Chelsea Michelle.

I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. It's well written, and chuckle worthy. And the story flows nicely. You would never guess there are two authors. I liked the different type of mystery. I do wish it was written in third person, because, at times, it was hard trying to keep track of which twin's perspective I was reading. I still enjoyed the story. I really like their nicknames. Sea (Chelsea), and Shells (Michelle). Seashells. So cute.

This one was different than the first mini mystery in that it was less intense. The mystery was also a little shorter, and then contained a side story with one of the twins dating a guy she met earlier. While it did mention characters praying, I thought there was less off a Christian point of view in this one compared to the first. But the humor and friendship between siblings and friends made me love this one even more. I can't wait for another book to see where things go and what mystery the twins will be involved with solving next!

I love the family dynamics in this sweet cozy mystery! I never know what Michelle is going to get involved in next, dragging Chelsea along while Justin instigates her on lol. The mysteries are plotted out well and the faith thread that runs throughout the story is a delight. And the fact it’s a quick and easy book to read when you don’t have the time to devote to a full length novel makes it perfect to read when you find yourself waiting somewhere.

I'm quickly falling in love with these characters despite Chaos not being as interesting as Hours We Regret. Really loved the 4th of July descriptions and watching how close the twin sisters really are to the point of looking at one another and conversating without saying a word. Justin, their older brother, is also an interesting blessing to the story. Would love to for Ryan to also be in the story. Kyle is one in a million and hoping they reconcile at some point. It was fun watching the story unfold and no one got hurt. Cute cover, great dialogue, filled with heart.

This was a fun, quick, light hearted read. Was it as intense as I felt the authors advertised… no. The mystery fell a little flat, but the surrounding story was sweet and funny. I loved the sibling moments between the three and of course, Jemma and Kyle. It was good, but don’t expect a deep, exciting mystery.

Did you steal the money?? I sure didn’t, but I had a great time trying to figure out who did! This fast paced novella filled with potential suspects, lovable characters, and hilarious twin banter was a delight to read! I can’t wait to dive into the next installment of the Watson Twins mini mysteries.

This is a clean little short story about twins who solve a mystery as they navigate life and love during a summer holiday celebration. It’s easy to read, has lots of twists and turns and red herrings, and a satisfying ending!

This was an intiguing little mystery. No murders or serial killers this time. Just sisters at a July 4th celebration trying to solve the mystery of the missing prize money. Suspects everywhere. I was a bit like the one sister, finding something suspicious about lots of people. But I had narrowed it down to the correct one by the reveal.
I can't wait to read the next mystery.

I really loved this book, especially because my parents' names were used in it! They were the couple who owned the diner and were cooking hamburgers! Aside from that, the mystery aspect was really strong, and I didn't really know who the criminal was until the very end, when it was revealed. I loved how Chelsea and Michelle went through the process of figuring out "who-dun-it" and the end result. I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys cozy mysteries.
