From Best-Selling Author Katie Berry comes the second book in the CLAW Emergence Trilogy, Into Daylight.
Caleb Cantrill still can’t find where he hid the bandit’s gold or his cavern of riches. The only thing it seems he can find is more and more of the monstrous blight he unleashed on the peaceful valley he now calls home. Adding to his troubles, his twenty-four-hour reprieve from the gang is up soon, and the bandits will be returning, looking for their gold, or his life is forfeit.
Kitty Welch is swept up in a corrupt scheme which may result in her arrest and deportation back to Scotland. Though she wants to flee, there is something keeping her in the valley, something very surprising that she thought she’d never have.
Creeping, crawling, slithering death now lurks around every corner of the small mountain town, threatening to devour the unwitting population. With the help of Doctor Brown and Sandy, Caleb hopes to eradicate the horrific creatures. But even if he is successful, unless he can recall the locations of his golden fortunes, he might just die anyway.
Born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario, Katie moved west to British Columbia during a family migration that occurred during the later-half of the 20th century.

An eye for detail helps Katie capture many magical moments with her camera as she interprets the natural beauty of the world that surrounds her through its lens.
Always looking for something new to advance her artistic experimentation, Katie is an accomplished sketch artist. She specialises in detailed drawings of friends, family and clients, including fur-babies, such as cats, dogs and the odd ferret.
After a lifetime of experience in numerous fields of endeavour, Katie now spends her days, and most nights, doing what she loves, bringing stories alive for people who enjoy a tale where the everyday suddenly becomes something much, much more...
You are taken on a journey back to that certain cave that has strange things and other things there , then it gets strange from there. The author did a good job with the book.
This book is really good. The ending is a real cliff hanger. This entire series is awesome. The continuity is flawless. The story moves along at a fast clip and holds the reader's interest. The ants and spiders give me the creeps. I really do not want to go to sleep due to possible nightmares !! I do not like bugs. The author has really pushed the horror content to a new level. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series. These books are a fantastic adventure in reading.
The first book in the series was OK to be honest I only made it all the way through because I live in DC and reading about places that I know and I’ve spent time at made it interesting. The reading seemed a bit weak. The second book was much better, the reading, much more natural and smooth the characters became easier to connect with anyways, this last book in the series so far was the best written of all, and can’t wait for the next one
Another brilliant book by Katie Berry. The town is in danger but as in book one the story was set in the late 1800's. I was totally engrossed from start to finish. I can't wait for the next book in the series. Thank you Katie for another fantastic book. I definitely recommend this series to everyone's who likes a great thrill read.
Yet another excellent book by Katie. It is a great follow-up on Book 1 in the series. The book, like many of Katie’s books, ends in the middle of the story which is a tad irritating, but fortunately the next book in the series is available now. I will therefore start Book 3 shortly. Into Daylight was a fun read with many moments of wonder and excitement. I can’t wait to see how the story will unfold. Katie Berry is quickly becoming one of my favorite five authors of all time.
So far these books have been fun reading despite all the mayhem the creatures are causing. The lost good mine is still lost. They may have a way to kill the spiders and ants or not. There is a forest fire to deal with. But everything seems to be working out for Caleb and friends. Now if the last of the outlaws will just get eaten by the spiders or ants things might just work out for everybody. So if you like a creepy good story then this is one to read.
Wow what a ride. There is a cliffhanger at the end! 😞. What a great writer who grabs your attention from first page to the last. These critters are not my favorite but these puppy size critters are scary. Great detail into world development and character with their challenges. Don’t like spiders 🕷️! Please publish next book soon.
We all have those authors whose works are so well done that you set aside special time to sit and dive into the tale being told. Katie Berry is one of those authors for me. Once again she does not disappoint. This author continues to write multilayered characters all of them have surprises within their personalities. The fact that she is able to write them so detailed and rich is what keeps the reader invested in how they interact with one another and the situations that arise. In this installment we continue along with Caleb and Kitty as they discover one another (yes we have a love story in the middle of all the insanity). Sandy continues to impress with his diverse personality although you may see him as just a big man who protects, you will find that there is much more to him than that. We have Doc who embraces the scientific side of the situation and proves to be more than the amount of time he spends at the bar. Throughout all the ensuing chaos and the deviousness of Jesús and Sinclair that is running in the background there is a very real danger that will have you sitting on the “edge of your seat” awaiting the next development. If you have any type of lingering fear of arachnids, water creatures or red ants buckle up buttercup for Katie Berry manages to exploit that fear also, if as with myself, you have never had issues with for example arachnids, you will (going forward) rethink how you feel about them. You will be left with a “cliffhanger” and hungry for the next book, at least I am anticipating the next installment. Best quote ever: "We're in very serious trouble."
