This book is quite difficult to read because you stop to lift the flaps and then continue onto the next sentence and then the other half of the sentence is on the next page. The flow of the book is pretty terrible. Don't get me started on the rhyming little birds with lizards. The illustrations are not good at all. The book says that you won't find an elephant in the jungle but I think you might? An Asian elephant? I'm no expert but it seems wrong. My son enjoys lifting some of the flaps, but the story itself is not a good read. I pretty much hate this book except that it keeps my toddler busy for a couple of minutes lifting the flaps.
I know that "Baby Einstein" is just the brand... but "Baby Einstein" seems a misnomer in this case; more like "Baby Sir David Attenborough".
As for the book: I suppose it's OK; it discusses some of the world's various animals and their habitats. But the rhyme scheme is a bit weak—e.g., "elephants" only kind of rhymes with "tents", and there's a couple like that.
