I liked it. It doesn’t have the best artwork or the best writing but, I like the movie and this manga felt like a fanfic tribute to it. If you’ve never seen the movie then this manga isn’t going to make much sense.

I picked this book up just after having watched the film 'Flesh for the Beast'. It was a good movie but had quite a few storylines left over that they could eventually make into another movie or insert into a director's cut. If you haven't watched the movie, I recommend it if you are a fan of gruesome horror. Definitely not for children! The plotline is typical horror fare- a group of investigators go to check out a spooky old abandoned house with a bad past, then end up becoming lunch for a bevy of succubi babes. It sounds cornier than what it actually is & the film is much better than many give it credit for.

In any case, if you haven't watched the movie- never fear. The manga is standalone from the actual movie. You can understand it perfectly well without having seen the movie. The manga is surprisingly more even in tone. There is still a lot of gratuitous sex & violence in the manga but it's not the focal point of the manga. Also, calling this a "manga" really isn't correct. It's manga sized & shaped, yet most of the stories in it are drawn by American artists. It's more indie than anything else.

The stories focus mainly around the succubi that inhabit the house. The time frame jumps around quite a bit & almost none of the stories reference each other, with the exception of one story arc that takes up two chapters in the book. The gruesome gals are played as both the bad guys as well as unfortunate beings, yet even when the succubi are portrayed as sympathetic you still see them for what they truly are.

There's some excellent storytelling in this book & there is room for many more stories to be told in this world. To be honest, the manga is actually slightly better than the movie in some aspects & I found myself enjoying the manga more than I did the movie. This manga is definitely not for children. There are several different mature themes in this book ranging from sex to violence to the death of a "child". (Not elaborating on this last part as it would spoil one of the stories.) It is still worth tracking down & reading, even if you end up passing it along to a friend afterwards.

I got this YEARS ago. Never seen the movie it's based around, eh got it at a time I was just grabbing anything manga. It's really blah, and one of the artist's REALLY REALLY sucks. If you ever have read it you know which I'm talking about, it stands out that bad. I've had better manga that I've gotten rid of. It's a shame really that I held onto this one. I'm not even sure why or how this has stayed in my possession this long. Maybe I kept it for me to find later in life and question why i still have it. Wouldn't be the first time I've done stuff like that to myself for a joke, Prob keep it still in a croner or a box to find again years later.
Hopefully the movie is way better BC this book really does nothing much to make it look "good". God that artist sucks and he does two of the stories and it just get worse as it goes on.

? What the hell did I just read, it was a waste of time. The stories were all over the place, I think about some mansion? Or something... There was one story with 3 demons that ate people and one of them had a baby that was Ok, but that's about it. Do not recommend.
