At only 160 pages and in a small format hardback, containing many period photos, like Santos-Dumont's Demoiselle itself, Man Flies is a brisk and light read. That said, Winters writes nicely enough, it's beautifully laid out and presented by the publishers, and Little Santos' life story is a particularly interesting one. There may not be enough detail here for aviation historians and academics, but for those that had hardly heard of him, this is a very enjoyable read. I could hardly put it down and it left me with a newfound respect for the man and his achievements at the turn of the 1900s. 5/5
