Trying to move forward from his forced film career, Gideon agrees to visit a pack in the Smoky Mountains mostly to avoid the island vacation he’s not in the mood for. But when the Alpha turns out to be crazy and other dangers pop up all around him, Gideon realizes his mistake… Except it brought him to the pack Betas who he likes.

Naill and Taye have a complicated relationship that sucks up all the energy around it and makes Gideon feel like an afterthought. That’s not the relationship he’s always dreamed of, but after years of abuse and getting noticed for all the wrong reasons, like his yoga moves in bed, it’s better than what he had with his last pack, and he should settle for that, right?

Once united with the Omegas, Gideon discovers the one he gave his heart to already, Ciro Wilson, finally paying him the attention he’s been desperate for. Mixed feelings, signals, and pure stubbornness add to the turmoil, yet things aren’t all they seem to be with the quartet and not even the other Omegas know what is going on.

Can the four of them find out why their emotions are in the way of making a life together, or will Gideon use his extreme control over his powers to make a home for one away from it all?

I really hope that the author forgoes more of this drama. Since this wasn't released through Siren, it makes me wonder why, if it was turned down?

If you notice the italics and don't immediately realize I'm kind of mocking the dramatic nature, here is me spelling it out for you. The ITALIC drama ANNOYS me. The story line has become blah for me. But to be perfectly honest I hate leaving something undone so if Ms Flynn puts out another I WILL read it and probably bitch about it cus I just can't leave it at that. If she will do the kindness of just letting it go we can all save ourselves that misery.. wait, I meant just me, sorry.

I've gotten away from multiples because the more moving parts there are the harder it is to get it lined up. It's HARD to do. I certainly enjoyed earlier books in the series but this felt like pulling teeth.

I HATE doing 'bad' reviews.. but in the end this is my personal opinion and of course everyone's is different. Sorry if I sounded over-dramatic rant.. oh wait.. that was kind of the point!

My least favorite of the series. It was a bit of a hot mess. A lot of drama and problems just kept popping up and things just kept getting revealed one after another. Gideon back story was an interesting read but his woe is me attitude was depressing.

Niall felt like a simpleton to me. I think he was suppose to be 21yo in the story but he kind of was acting like a young child. Taye was a jerk and I just couldn't change my image of him even after readers discovered what was going on with him. The way Niall and Taye were acting was eye roll inducing and a bit bipolarish to me. Really I think Ciro was the only character I really liked in the story (beside for the other omega's and their mates).

The dialogue in some passages were pretty bad and sappy. I had to skip through those few paragraphs just to prevent myself from actually gagging.

Yeah yeah, I know, but we won't discuss how weak I am.

Anyway, I found this installment rather provocative but still could only give it three stars, and let me tell you why. Single person POV, in this case Gideon's. Yes, I understand that is this authors preference and how the story unfolds in her mind. However, if you've read JF's blog, you will hear, not the characters voice, but her own. For the sake of the rest of my review however, I will refer to it as Gideon's.

Now what always bothers me about this POV is perspective. Duh, you say. We know what Gideon thinks, sees, feels but this story isn't, well the relationship between the mating group, all about Gideon. At least it shouldn't be. I don't want to just know how Gideon perceives the others. I want to know what they think when they're alone. What they see going on around them. What they feel about their lovers and how it feels when they touch them. I want to know and see the all consuming passion between them, the misunderstandings, the exasperation, fear and hurt from the person feeling it.

Okay (smile), now for why I found it provocative. If you're familiar with JF's books you know there is an abundance of eye-rolling, cringe-inducing, oh-my-god-are-you-serious moments in her stories. From cheesy dialogue to heros bawling at the drop of a hat. Not to mention loose story threads that are never tied up, to rambling sentences, bad grammar (beyond a characters personality traits), non-existent punctuation, spelling and editing mistakes. And my all time cringe inducing pet peeves, over use of pet names and the classic "snickered" adjective.

Some of those I did find in abundance were rambling sentences beyond the characters propensity of use when they were nervous and the cheesy dialogue. For example.

Niall: "That's it my gorgeous Gideon. Accept me into your tight channel of pleasure and erotic promises. Let me in so I can give you bliss before I mark you with my scent and seed"

That earned both an eye roll and an oh-my-god-are-you-serious from me. I did find that punctuation, grammar and spelling errors were much less an issue this time, though they were still obvious. Crying, whether outright bawling or tears dripping down faces, was mostly kept to a minimum and in appropriate places. And though I understand Nialls youth, his constant falling to his knees pleading or begging for whatever forgiveness, or curling into a ball and crying, was over dramatic. After all he was the Alpha male of this mating group.

I truly enjoyed the twists and turns of this story. There was no insta-love for this group, no fawning over Gideon from all sides. This group had to work for what they wanted. They had to wade hip deep through honest to god issues. Before events unfolded, I felt a true dislike for Taye and for a brief time Niall.

The majority of the sex scenes I found rather passionless and some I found ended rather abruptly. Saying they necked like teenagers or made out was juvenile and I think taking the time to dive into the intimacy and heat of a kiss or a caress, would have gone a long way in showing a growing closeness between the characters.

The secondary characters did not take over the story this time thank goodness, though at some points there were so many of them you have to keep careful track of who is talking. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised and mostly enjoyed Gideon. However, I've made no secret of my thoughts and feelings about this authors writing abilities. She has intriguing story ideas but not quite yet the polished skills to execute them. Gideon's story gives me hope but the unfavorable light in which the author has placed herself in the past is hard to overcome.

I really, really could not like Gideon as character even though I tried. But it was one of the few books with more plot than sex scenes or plot leading to sex. Niall is just creepy.

I have read all the Resistant Omega books. I just love them for the most part. Overall, this book was similar to the rest. It just continues the main plot and furthers the story along through a different mating group. This time it is Gideon and his three mates.

This book has it all. You have Gideon who has been abused. You have two of his would be mates trying to rescue him. You have an island for Omegas and their families. You have another mate that Gideon has loved from the start. You can’t get much more drama than this. At least without giving up spoilers.

All I can say is that I wasn’t let down with this book. I just wish there was another one out already.

The start of this book was particularly bad mainly because Gideon is such a WHINGER. Once he got over himself though it allowed the story to take off some and for an interesting romance with his men. I enjoyed the twists and turns and also how useful Gideon turned out to be.

I'm sorry to see that Joyee Flynn's writing hasn't changed to the better. Neither the characters nor the readers are 3 years old. Please use normal language.

As far as I can tell this is the last book in the series. There are so many more stories to be told, I wish it continued. I loved the whole series and have reread it many times.
