This cookbook (thank you Claire Cook/Olivia Graham for the e-freebie!) is a wonderful tool for those who need to eat a gluten free diet or who just want to try something different. I don’t need to eat this diet but have a friend who does. I’ll let her know about the book and will be trying out some of the recipes on her when we share meals. My issue with G-F (gluten free) foods is that most flour mixes contain forms of white potato, a nightshade family vegetable, and nightshades set off my arthritis. I’ve learned that I can substitute my own mix of G-F flours and create dishes that work for my idiosyncrasies and plan to do that with this book. Some of the recipes will be tried using regular flour (the Double Chocolate G-F Cookies on page 31 and Decadent G-F Almond Joy Bars on page 74 sound scrumptious) and for my friend, I’ll work with individual G-F flours (rice, quinoa, buckwheat, etc.). I’m looking forward to trying these dishes for my family and for my friend. Thanks again!
Has anyone else received this book as an e-freebie sent via email? The author states that those who post reviews and send them to her will be eligible to receive an Amazon gift card (she'll choose her favorite review) but I haven't been able to respond to her email (all my attempts so far have failed). Oh, well; at least I got a free e-cookbook (illustrated, yet!).
