One heart cannot remember. Another heart cannot forget. Both hearts reach toward something to grasp. For Sarah, it is her past. For Will, it is to bring that past back. The only thing standing squarely in their way — is their future. Each has promised their heart and life to another. But where happiness should be, instead are the dark billowing clouds of a storm of reckoning. The thunder of regret splits a horizon now raining down upon them in shards of shattered promises and unreachable memories.
In Book One of this three-part saga, fate seemed it would not be denied, bringing Sarah and Will together in a turbulent world, uniting young hearts for the right reason: love. But — almost as if it has eyes — fate sees to it that no love that is meant to be is allowed to be, without it being tested to the passionate edges of chance.
Accidents. Small ones are remembered and retold with a laugh. Useful ones are celebrated. But shattering ones — those are the ones that slip from the fingers of fate. The kinds that are followed by silence as it roars the sound of life changing. And it is this pounding drone that Sarah and Will — once inseparable — now hear when they listen to their hearts.
After her accident, Sarah awakens in a hospital room and into a very different life. Will, accidentally buried by heavy timber when he heroically saves a fellow worker, is also delivered into his own unforeseen, disoriented new life. Destiny’s dust never settles.
And nothing is clear when doubts appear. Sarah is betrothed to Adley, while Will is engaged to Margaret, yet both are still connected to each other by an indescribable draw seemingly groping out from the deepest reaches of fate. A fate that deliberately leaves the door of temptation cracked open, giving Will a yearning peek at the naked truth of Sarah, who reaches out with the same tortured passions. A fate that leaves both to fight the desperate desires of wanting what each knows they cannot have. A fate that dares them to ask, “What will happen if I finally feel you?”
At the end of Book One within this series you are left hanging. And Book takes off from there leaving you feeling emotional invested in Sarah’s tragic heartbreaking outcome.
I was read the first 25% of this story with an aching knot in my chest. It grabs you and squeezes until you feel nothing but the heartache of Sarah's life...
She suffers not only loss of loved ones but the loss of her memory as well…but only the younger years. She remembers nothing from growing up in Colorado. Everything is black and lost. Names, faces and even photos of her past leave her blank and feeling empty. With Matty and Adley gone she is left to face the blackness alone. Both Oscar and Ellie attempt to comfort her but nothing seems to soothe the loss she has suffered.
When Henry (Wills Father) received a letter announcing the loss of his dear friends he set out to California to convince Sarah to come home with him to Colorado. He felt it was the best place for her to be while trying to regain her memories of her childhood. Needless to say this was a complete shock when Will arrived home from work to find the girl he promised to love for forever standing in his kitchen. When she didn’t recognize him that nearly broke his heart, they had shared so much in the past.
Will was determined to help Sarah regain her memory. But it only brought back all the feeling he had for her. The love he still held but chose overtime to tuck away.
The emotion this story made me feel for Sarah and Will was overwhelming. And I felt bad for Adley as well. He had been so good to Sarah, so patient and willing to give her everything he could.
When Adley returned from war to find Sarah was no longer in California left him full of anger and disappointment. She had promised him she would be there and knowing that she would be there waiting for him kept him going and gave him hope. Now his sat alone without his Sarah by his side. When He appears out of nowhere and William is faced with the idea that Sarah has another man willing to love her without any question has his mind spinning.
Oh My Lord!!! I am addicted to this series. I swear it has my mind spinning. I am dying to find out the next step in this story… I am literally looking at my Kindle saying NO NO!!! It can’t end there…I NEED MORE! This is torture and I need book THREE like NOW!
You are so Rockin’ this story Jacelyn and I am Completely Utterly in Love with this series.
Traveling back to Colorado with Sarah and Henry made me want to take a trip to Colorado. The imagery that the author shares with us has awakened my memories as a child travling to Colorado with my parents to visit relatives. The single most impressive thing was the train ride to Silverton, Colorado and the majestic mountains and trees that made me gape in awe. I remember the smell of them, the greenery (living in the desert makes you appreciate all the colors of green so much more), to the feel of the soot in my hair from the coal driven train. All of this came alive again for me with the journey back to Colorado written by Ms. Rye. Thank you for that.
Memories. The single most important thing that I would never want to lose. Things are just that...things. But memories? You can never replace them, yes, you might lose some of them as you get older & wiser or replace them with different ones, but you will always have them. Sarah. William. Adley. A heart cannot forget that it's been in love, that it has been crushed, that it has lost, that it is missing something. Will hearts that remember each other help or hurt further?
I made myself wait overnight to write the review. This story is resonating so loudly in my heart that to write it directly after finishing it would give it no justice, nor any to the author.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Jacelyn I have loved to watch you grow as a writer. This is an amazing story and I am so invested in these people and their lives. I stopped reading so many times because I wanted to jump in the story and shack a few people or I was just to emotion to continue. Fate has a way of sneaking up on you and sometimes knock you down or making memories that will last a life time. I believe that Will and Sarah are soul mates I just wish that Margret (UGH) would just drop off the face of the earth or crawl back under a rock. I am so looking forward to the next step in their journey and also yours. This is a must Read Series 5 star is just not enough. Jacelyn you are a Rock Star
Shattered by Fate, by Jacelyn Rye, will leave it's readers reeling immediately, as the story opens, where the tumultuous cliffhanger left them hanging in Surrender to Fate. Sarah Ellis has been having a tough time existing through the countless hours of waiting for word from her brother Matty and her fiancé Adler who are very deep in the war. Her mother convinces her to take a ride in the truck on a treacherous evening, and she goes, not knowing that what will happen next will turn her whole world upside down. At the same time, in Colorado, Will Harston, her long lost soul mate is in a fateful accident that spares his life. What develops from this miracle is the realization that he does not love his fiancé, Margaret Thorton, the way he should, and never will.
Sarah must forge ahead blindly, as she is left to pick up the pieces of her life. Will must figure out what he is going to do; save his family's farm by marrying the ever manipulative Margaret or go after the love of his life. He has been walking a very tight line since the death of his mother and the fragile state of his father's health and distraught, empty life. This second segment in Fate's Path is tumultuous to say the very least. The prose are seamless and beautifully descriptive. The reader will feel the breeze, hear the birds, see the sunsets, and smell the scents.
Ms. Rye has taken her very special gift to the next level. It takes a very special gift for a writer to make their readers feel emotions, empathy, sorrow and desperation. All of us have heard stories about war, especially Pearl Harbor, the travesties of war, the emptiness that envelopes one's soul at the loss of their loved ones who have laid their lives on the line for their countries freedom. Ms. Rye has recreated the most intricate, detail oriented, life changing creation imaginable. She grabs her readers from the first sentence and is able to captivate them, reel them in, make them feel diversity, sorrow, longing, and loneliness. This brings her readers face to face with what once was a very lonely, dark time, where innocence was plentiful, and prevalent, and life was lived out at a much slower pace.
Everyone will be able to relate with this story in one way or another, from lost love, war time efforts, and from being estranged from their loved ones for months or years at a time. No one is immune to the pain and suffering, after effects and trials of war. Ms. Rye has created a momentous love story, a saga if you will, with triumph of the spirit and longing of the heart, once again. The characters are incomparable, and will touch your heart to it's very core, leaving an undeniable imprint on each and everyone who reads this saga. Even the characters you love to hate will stay with you long after the last word is read. It is very rare when a writer, creative artist, can set a standard so perilously high, and meet that challenge, and beyond a second time. Ms. Rye has accomplished such a feat in, Shattered by Fate.
Though the journey may be treacherous, fate's cruel path will always bring you back to where you belong in the end. The reader will find themselves reliving this story over and over again, as this beautiful, windswept novel passes through their hands. Get your hanky's ready, this is a heart wrenching journey, full of swoon worthy love scenes, with beautifully descriptive prose that make you feel a part of every single moment in the lives of these unforgettable characters.
The power of the soul is unrelenting, with the desire to reclaim it's mate, and should never be underestimated. The vivid, expressive, realism, that creates a 3-dimensional story with the touch, feel, sound, and visualization into every nuance imaginable, has been recreated by the genius mind of Ms. Jacelyn Rye.
I give Shattered by Fate, by Jacelyn Rye, 5+++, Heart Wrenching, Tragic, Love Swept, Soul Shattering Stars!!!
This is the second installment to the Fate's Path series. This book is amazing and took me on an emotional roller coaster ride. I went from soaring high in the sky to nose diving into the ground. I felt like my heart was being ripped out and shredded in a grinder in places. This book touched me in a lot of ways.
Sarah doesn't know what to do with her life. After the accident she is lost and everyone she wants is away at war. She can't remember anything about who she really is. She wants all her memories back so she can become the woman she is suppose to be. There is only one way to do that and that is to go back to Colorado and pray she will remember. But being back in Colorado brings Will back into her life. What do you do when your mind doesn't remember, but your heart does? Do you trust the decisions you made before? Or do you go with what your heart wants now?
Will never thought he would see Sarah again so when he sees her again he doesn't know what to do. That is because she has no idea who he is. He takes this as an opportunity to make it right. To fix all the broken promises. Though is what he doing alright? Is he only going to bring Sarah more heartache? He can't be with her. He is promised to Margaret. And when she learns about the things he has done with Margaret will she ever forgive him? Can he right all his wrongs and have the life he wants and needs?
Margaret isn't worth my time even talking about. She is a conniving, evil witch. Who has always had her sights set on stealing Will away from Sarah. And now she has him, but can she keep him?
Adley more poor, sweet, loving Adley. He never wanted to leave Sarah. He was finally getting the life he wanted with the woman he loved. But after the attack on Pearl Harbor he didn't have a say in staying home in California and starting his life. He was now a soldier going away to fight for our freedom and safety. He never expected Sarah to break her promise and be gone when he got home. He didn't know what to think. All he knew is he had to go to Sarah and bring her back. But is it all the same when he gets to Colorado? Will Sarah still want Adley or had she already fallen back in love with Will?
This is an emotion story of love, loss and trying to right your wrongs. I honestly can't even say who I want Sarah with anymore. At the beginning of book two I really wanted her with Adley. I think I still do only because I am not a fan of Will's. Will deceived her more than I would ever be able to forgive. And he knows he was doing it, but didn't care. And now that she is back he regrets it. But I feel that in the end they will be together. I just pray that she knows everything and can make an honest decision. I want everyone happy, but I know that there will be a lot of heartache in the final installment of this series!!! I cannot wait to read book three.
I have to give props to Jacelyn. Any author that can actually make me throw my coveted kindle across the room has a special talent. Making me feel so deep that I feel like I am living in the story doesn't happen often, but Jacelyn did it!!!
WOW! I am speechless. If you're looking to experience true emotion, this is a must read! This follow on book to Surrender To Fate is absolutely FANTASTIC. I had to wait to write my review to be able to process myself what the characters in the story go through and MY personal emotions of what goes on with the characters and a storyline I am SO involved in and love so very much.
Jacelyn Rye sure knows how to bring the reader into "feeling" every event, "being in" every setting. She has made these all vividly REAL. Just writing this brings everything flooding back, along with the heartfelt emotions I experienced in reading.
I literally was on the edge of my seat reading the ENTIRE story. I was so completely into it that I was afraid of reading what would come next. Yet, I couldn't stop as I had to know. I devoured it. Be prepared as this is QUITE an emotional journey you will be taken on, at least I was. I felt every emotion possible. There are characters you adore, love, hate, and are even undecided about, places you fell or fall in love with, all from Jacelyn's exceptional writing of book 1, Surrender To Fate continuing through this book, Shattered By Fate. Close your eyes as you read and you can almost smell the trees, the pines, the rolls, etc. WOW
This series has stayed with me long after completing. I even have a song I hear on the radio that means so much to me because the words of it remind me of this series. The song brings tears to my eyes and brings me right back into the storyline and what the characters go through. A day doesn't go by where I don't think of this series. Truly outstanding.
I WANT THE NEXT BOOK SOON, yet I don't want these characters to EVER leave me! I know what I want to happen but we'll have to see what Jacelyn has planned! I know I never want the series to end, I just want some situations resolved because I don't think my heart can take anymore not knowing!
What a huge impact these books have left on me. Touched my heart completely and only 1 other author has EVER done that for me.
This is an AMAZING read that I very highly recommend all to read. In fact, I can't recommend enough!
Jacelyn you absolutely rock. You truly have an incredible gift. You have a devoted reader here who absolutely ADORES your outstanding work! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!
**ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.**
In 2013 I read a little book by Jacelyn Rye that absolutely murdered my poor heart. Surrender To Fate completely blew my mind and now I’ve had the chance to read the sequel and I am beyond impressed. Not only has Jacelyn grown as an author, but I am pretty sure these books are going to send me into cardiac arrest. The connection between Sarah and Will sparks all of these emotions in me and I had tears in my eyes for the entire book. I didn’t cry a river this time, but I fell so deep into the story that I don’t think I ever want to leave.
After the cliffhanger in Surrender To Fate, I was practically shaking with the need to find out what happens next. I was somewhat relieved and shocked when the outcomes of those two devastating events were revealed. I did not expect the story that followed.
Have I mentioned how much I love Will and Sarah? Well, I do. There were some points in the book though where I wanted to physically put my fist through the iPad screen and punch Will in the face. My life will be so much easier when he ditches Margaret. That girl starts some serious anger within me that needs to be let out. I am scared and apprehensive for what will happen next.
Guilt surged again as she realized that if Will was the rainstorm, it might be worth getting caught in it, even though she knew she was completely unprepared for it.
This book just goes to show that Jacelyn loves her cliffhangers. I am in serious need of reading the third and final book in the series, Chosen By Fate. I believe that Fate needs to work in favour of Sarah and Will or I may just give up on humanity. I know that once this series is over, I will never be the same again.
I’m just going ahead and recommending this book to everyone because it is honestly amazing. I was worried about reading a series set back in the past, in a time that I couldn’t relate to, when I first started Surrender To Fate but I wouldn’t ever go back. The characters, emotions and events all feel real while you’re reading and I am astounded by Jacelyn’s ability to draw you in. Once you start reading these books, you won’t want to stop.
How do you write a review where the book ripped out your heart? Well, folks this beautiful and complicated love story continues in it’s not so pretty package. You will find yourself fighting for every character throughout the story, no matter whose team you are on. Book 1 left us unsettled on this journey and book 2 leaves you in the same boat. Yep! Another cliffhanger or as my friends like to call it a CFH. (You can figure out the F on your own). How long can the angst and pain last? Jacelyn took a risk as an author with all the elements she puts in her book. However, taking risks in writing only leads to a beautiful wreck. Yes, I am not in happy land with this book because I fell hard into the trap of heart break. I always root for the underdog. The underdog isn’t always the man with the least amount of money. In this story, the underdog is the man who will give ANYTHING for his love of his life, but never had the chance of fully owning her love. Even when she promised and convinced him she would always be his. He left with that promise and came back to a shattered promise & that is where I physically broke, and BAM the story ends. I find myself immersed deep in this tragic love story. I am not happy with all the character’s decisions, but I keep rooting for their happiness. Let me tell you there are some hot and steamy scenes in this book. Jacelyn will not let you down in that department. Hearts are being broken and strangely tied together at the same time. I have a feeling that book 3 will not go where I want it to, but I am so mesmerized by this series…I will BE reading it. I'm scared, happy and nervous as hell for book 3! Evoking all those emotions is a true talent….Congrats on another stellar book Mrs. Jacelyn Rye! "If he were to keep the peace at all, with Margaret and Vernon, he would need to convince her that Sarah was not a threat to their engagement. The first one who would need convinced of that, though was himself." Go grab Shattered by Fate, and convince yourself which love story is destined to get their HEA. 5 Stars from HJ Bellus Be Brave Little Chickens!!!
Shattered By Fate starts right where Surrender to Fate leaves off. Sarah and her parents were in a car accident and back in Colorado Will just saved a co-worker's life but suffered the fate of being in the way of the logs falling.
However, Fate seems to have stepped in.... due to being in a sling for a broken collarbone is postpones the nuptials to the "Bitch" I mean Margaret... (seriously I wanted to throw my kindle I really DO NOT LIKE HER). And when is Will gonna find out she stole the "letter"???? I CAN NOT wait for the sh*t to hit the fan wit that!!!
But when Will's Father decides to leave for a short trip, no one could expect what he had planned.... Then the lives of everyone becomes complicated, beautiful, hopeful and almost the epitome of desperate. This 2nd book takes for a ride (I mean you heart for a ride)
Will would do anything for Sarah, even sacrifice his own happiness to make her whole.... Even though she has no memories of him or her life in Colorado before her family moved to California..... but it is undeniable that her body responds to Will and something draws them together unlike either of them have felt. ....... But you have to read to find out more because I don't want to be a spoiler....
I rarely feel so affected by a story as this. The author, Jacelyn Rye, has a talent few authors achieve. She makes you feel involved in the story, she makes you think about it well after putting it down, I dreamt about it... The song by Bruno Mars "If I was Your Man" I think should be theme song for this. My heart went for a ride, I cried, laughed, and felt anger so much I swear I don't think I will ever like anyone named Margaret.
This book left me breathless. I found myself swearing at Margaret and crying with Sarah. I can't wait for the next one!!! WHEN WILL IT BE RELEASED?????? I couldn't put this book down... I read for over 10 hours straight!!!
Anyone else think Fate can be very cruel? This is book 2 of a 3 part series and picks up right where book 1, Surrender to Fate, leaves off. I was so overwhelmed by the emotions and heart wrenching decisions by both Will and Sarah from the very beginning of this story. I know people say all the time what a roller coaster a book is, but that wouldn't even begin to describe the ups and downs and twists and turns Jacelyn Rye gives us in this book. I went from loving Will to hating him back to loving him. And Sarah is torn in many directions, not knowing which way is up and through every passage of her thoughts and feelings you literally feel your heart breaking for her. And Margaret, oh why does such an awful person have to exist? I just thought I hated her in the first book, well I really hate her now. I understand Will's torn between what he feels in his soul that is right and listening to his heart or doing what in his mind is the right thing for his family. It is just so frustrating to know that two people who love each other so much down to their very core, can not be together. And then you have Adley, who is in the war fighting everyday to get back to Sarah. I mean, my goodness who do you root for, right? One thing I know for certain is that Sarah and Will will always belong to each other no matter what promises they have made to others. They made promises to each other first. This story touched me to my core and one I will not ever forget! People always have those books that in 10 years or 20 years they will always come back to and talk about, this series is mine. I really can't say enough about this series! It is one I will recommend to anyone and everyone!! I wish I could give it a million stars because it deserves no less than that!! Great job Jacelyn!! Grab a box of tissues because you will need them!!
I received and ARC of Shattered by Fate as a part of the blog tour.
Holy hell, thank god Shattered by Fate starts right off from the HUGE cliffhanger at the ending of Surrender to Fate. I cannot believe the positions that Sarah and Will are in. My heart is aching for both of them. Why does fate have to be so nasty? I'm sorry, I'm still grieving after reading the ending of this book. Why cliffhanger, WHY?? Even though I am now anxiously awaiting the release of book #3 I think that Shattered by Fate ended the right way...in suspense and left me fearing the unknown. Oh my goodness. I don't even know what to say.
Okay, I need to get it together.
Jacelyn Rye knows how to write emotion, this I am sure. I honestly never predicted what actually happened in this book. My heart broke for Sarah. She hardly had anything left, but her memories...Adley and Matty were sent away to war and Sarah was alone lost in the memories that could be salvaged. All Sarah had to look forward to was Adley's return so she could fulfill her promise. Never would she have thought that her past would come back for her. This changed everything. Her fate, Will's fate. What would happen now that Sarah and Will have both broke their promise, "Me Ware Wo," and are in a uncompromisable predicament? Little did Sarah know that a tragic accident could change the course of her future and little did Will know that one day he would come home from the lumberyard to have his past standing before him..Has Will and Sarah's feeling for each other still present even after all this time? In order to find out you have to read this amazing story!
First off let me say that Jacelyn knows how to write a gut wrenching book. I read book one of this series, Surrender To Fate, and received the biggest book hangover of my life. Needless to say, I was a bundle of nerves, angst, and utter turmoil waiting for my next dose of Will and Sarah. Each page I turned pulled me further into the story, binding me to these young lovers and their struggles. From page one I was spellbound without any thoughts of escape, sitting helplessly just waiting for fate to change its design and bring them back together. I am so hopelessly attached to this love story that I am dying inside knowing I must wait, even if just for a short period of time, to have the final pieces of the puzzle in my hands. Jacelyn has a way of evoking each struggle, emotion, and desire within the pages, causing her readers to feel each strike to the heart themselves. I sat on the edge of my seat and relished each tidbit she revealed to me piece by agonizing piece. This series is meant to be read by all readers, so they may know what it feels like to live inside the story. I absolutely love Jacelyn and give her my highest honor of five amazing stars and beyond for painting a beautiful picture right before my eyes over and over again.
Will is engaged to marry Margeret. Sarah is engaged to marry Adley. When these two are thrown back together sparks will fly but will things get heated? Is this an ever lasting love or just a childhood crush? Sarah and Will get close but know that can only be friends. Sarah is well aware that Will is engaged and she is very jealous but Will is yet to find out about Adley. What will Will's react be when he finally finds out about Adley? Has he lost his girl along with the memories?
I really enjoyed this book, much more so than Surrender by Fate, and I loved that book. Anyway I loved the bond between Will and Sarah in Shattered by Fate. Even though Sarah couldn't remember him, her body, mind and heart definately could. As much as I like Adley, I'm routing for Will and Sarah to get the happily ever after they deserve. With eachother they don't need money. They have all they need. Hurry up with Book 3 Jacelyn I'm not a patient lady!!!
This is another 'can't put down' novel from Jacelyn Rye. I neglected my family and told them to fend for themselves for dinner because I just could not put this down.
This story continues with Sarah and Will. Horrible things have happened in their lives but fate has brought them back together. What will happen when they reunite? Will their love still be there? Jacelyn Rye has continued this story with the emotion and intensity of her first book, Surrender to Fate. This is a must read.
I cannot wait to find out what happens next. Kudos to Jacelyn Rye for another great book.
The First part left us with Sarah and her family going to California while Will and his family stay back in Colorado. A whole lot of changes happen all at once. Sarah, Matty(her brother) and their parents meet the new employers and they had a house on the property and all was going good except that Sarah missed Will and her life back in Colorado. I feel like if I add to much to this review I will give it away so this is all I will give just know that once you pick it up you won't be able to put it down until it is finished. HAPPY READING BECAUSE IT IS THAT...BUT DON'T FORGET THE TISSUES BECAUSE IT IS A TEAR JERKIER TOO.
I have been Shattered by Fate, and you know what? It wa totally worth it.. I love Jacelyn and love her books.. This is book two, this was such an emotional read for me I have thrown my kindle trough book one and now book two.. Jacelyns characters are written so well their real, she has a way with words and details that just simply amazes me. You will feel as if you are apart of these characters life's. I'm still shattered by Fate and my soul has been torn from me, my heart has been crushed but I'd do it all over again... That's how amazing these books are.. Must read if I could give these books more than 5
All I can say is WOW. This is part 2 and it picked up effortlessly where part 1 left off. It was as if I had never stopped reading and went from one chapter to another instead of from book to book. You will experience many emotions while reading this, sadness, joy, heartache, laughter, to name a few. One of the best series I have read in a while. I highly recommend this series by Jacelyn Rye. I only hope part 3 comes out soon so I can continue to enjoy Sarah and Will's saga.
Ok I'm sleep deprived and completely obsessed with reading this whole series. I'm emotionally invested in the characters, I don't know if my heart can take anymore. Damn you Jacelyn Rye for writing a story with such emotion. The way you describe just a kiss is something else indeed phew. Seriously everyone NEEDS to read this whole damn series!!!!
Very devastating story for all of the characters involved, except for Margaret who has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. Not sure how Rye is going to resolve everything in the final installment, but I can't wait for it to come out.
Such an INTERESTING story!!! I loved the 2nd installment of this series. It's a MUST READ!! HOWEVER! I strongly recommend you read "Surrender to Fate" first before reading this 2nd installment. I am looking forwards to reading the 3rd and final installment!
Wow, I love this book. I thought the first one was great, but this one was even better. I was hooked on this book from the moment that I picked it up. Did not put it down until the very last word was read. This is an author that everyone needs to experience. You will not be disappointed.
This is one of those books I have to set down and let all the feelings settle and then come back to. This story is so heartbreakingly beautiful and then painful! I can't wait to see what is in store for the next book!
OMG!!!!!! Go one click this book!!! My review will be posted during the blog tour but OMG!!! I have ended the year with a BANG with this book! PHENOMENAL!
I was so happy to be a part of Jacelyn Rye's blog tour and been able to have to opportunity to read the second part of fates path. Fate makes it's own decisions for each and every one of us and Jacelyn has done a wonderful job on continuing that path. The story picks up right where it left off and been prepared that the first 5-6 chapters had me sobbing for poor Sarah. I finished Part one in tears and picked up the second book continuing with the same theme. This book has ugly cry moments which I have to say i adore. It even took me by surprise on the bus journeys to work and back. Grab yourself a packet of tissues is my one and only bit of advice. This series is very different from most series I have read, it isn't full of sex but more full of desire and passion!
The characters continued on the same path and were true to there own identity through out the second book as they were with the first in the series. I love Sarah and it is more evident that she is troubled by trying to rediscover who she was. Both Sarah and Will are engaged to be married but there heartstrings still appear to sing for each other, even though there is that element of they are both in relationships it doesn't feel like a typical story with infidelity and I believe that is because through out Surrender To Fate Jacelyn Rye did an amazing job and building up her characters and you gaining great understanding about them as individuals but also the immense love they felt for each other. Jacelyn does a wonderful job in describing the turmoil that Sarah is experiencing which gives you this deep understanding about where she is coming from and what she is going through as a young girl.
She can't remember anything about who she really is but being back in Colorado brings Will back into her life. What do you do when your mind doesn't remember, but your heart does? Do you trust the decisions you made before? Or do you go with what your heart wants now? I believe that Will and Sarah are soul mates I just wish that Margret would just drop off the face of the earth or crawl back under the rock she came from I have never disliked a character so much!!! She makes what to jump in my kindle and just choke her out!!! Why does such an awful person have to exist? And then you have Adley, who is in the war fighting everyday to get back to Sarah and then comes home to find the his future wife was in a car accident and lost all memory of her past. And goes back to Colorado to try and regain her childhood memories. Will Sarah still want Adley or had she already fallen back in love with Will? This is an emotion story of love, loss and trying to right your wrongs. I honestly can't even say who I want Sarah with anymore. At the beginning of book two I really wanted her with Adley. I think I still do. I cannot wait to read book three and find out.
