Kaylie Snow has always been the fun, flirty, pretty sister. Now, her burgeoning baby bump, hormone infused emotions, and faltering singing career are sending her into an unexpected identity crisis. Watching her older sister Danica glide through a major career change and a new relationship with the grace of a ballerina, Kaylie’s insecurities rise to the forefront—and her relationship, with fiancé Chaz Crew, is caught in the crossfire.

Chaz Crew has everything he’s ever wanted: a lovely fiancé, a baby on the way, and soon, the film festival he owns will host its biggest event ever. When he’s called away to woo the festival’s largest sponsor—and the lover he’s never admitted to having—secrets from his past turn his new life upside down.

With her baby shower around the corner, and her fiancé’s big event looming, the pressure is on for Kaylie to pull herself together—and for Chaz to right his wrongs. In a few short weeks, the couple who had it all figured out will learn things about life and love that may change their minds—and their hearts.

This review can also be found at Carole's Random Life in Books.

I really had a great time with this audiobook! This is the second book in the Snow Sisters trilogy which really would be best when read in order. This book picks up shortly after the events of the previous book and focuses on the same group of characters. I thought that it was kind of fun to watch these two couples move on to the next stage of their relationships. I found this to be a very enjoyable listen.

Kaylie and Chaz are very much in love as they await the birth of their baby. It has taken a lot fo these two to get to this point and they still have a few obstacles to overcome. Kaylie not only has the pregnancy to deal with but she is also finding it to be increasingly difficult to book new performances. Chaz has a few issues to deal with as well including one old flame determined to make things difficult.

I really liked Kaylie and Chaz together. Neither character was perfect but they seemed to fit together very well. I really enjoyed getting to see them learn to open up to each other and be honest. I never doubted how much they cared for each other at any time during the story and it was great to see everything come together. Danika and Blake were also great in this book and I thought that the progression of their romance was equally important to the overall story.

B.J. Harrison did a fantastic job with this story. I thought that he handled all of the different character voices extremely well. I thought that he added a lot of excitement and emotion to the story. I found his voice to be very pleasant and I believe that his narration added to my overall enjoyment of the story.

I would recommend this book to others. I thought that this was a very well done contemporary romance filled with characters that I cared about. I cannot wait to continue with the series!

I received a copy of this audiobook from the author/publicist.

4 "Life Changes" Stars for the story and narration.

In the continuation of the Snow sisters story about navigating love and their careers, in Sisters in Bloom, Ms. Foster delivers another book that is sure to entice women's fiction lovers. Please note though, that this title builds on the story of the Snow sisters that Ms. Foster shared with us in Book 1, Sisters in Love, and therefore should only be listened to after that title in order to understand the entire background.

Whereas Sisters in Love focused on therapist, Danica Snow's and Blake Carter's love life, the primary heroine and hero in Book 2, Sisters in Bloom, is Danica's singer, sister, Kaylie Snow, and her fiance, Chaz Crew. However, for those of you that loved Danica and Blake, do not fret, as they still play a crucial role, and their relationship and the conflicts they must navigate along the way, continue to play a strong secondary role in this book.

Kaylie Snow is used to enjoying life and being the life of the party. Having become comfortable in her role as the more carefree sister and her career as a singer, the impending birth of her first (unplanned) child is causing her to reevaluate her priorities and what she expects from her life. The fact that the clubs who used to book her singing gigs, now also refuse to hire her (both now while pregnant and even more alarming after the baby's arrival) is further complicating Kaylie's ability to process just what her next stage in life will look like. Additionally, having a serious relationship for the first time in her life--one which was precipitated or at least sped along by her unplanned pregnancy--is causing its own strain as Kaylie and Chaz try to settle into a different stage of their relationship.

Further complicating matters is a rather determined ex-hook up of Chaz's who also happens to have a tie-in to his career. As a film festival producer, Chaz has to entertain the festival's sponsors. Unfortunately for Chaz, his old flame is used to getting her way and is determined to have Chaz back in her bed. Furthermore the fact that the old flame also happens to be one of his upcoming film festival's largest sponsors makes her impossible to ignore. Therefore although Chaz is equally committed to seeing her gone, her ability to influence his business is making this a rather delicate situation that requires that he interact with her without falling into her web.

Meanwhile Danica in an effort to support her sister has big news of her own, but doesn't feel like she can move on with her life while her sister is going through such a difficult time.

Will Kaylie be able to sleuth the mystery of her current profession and personal identity crisis? Just what direction will her future career and relationship take? Moreover, will Chaz be able to steer the murky waters created by his former lover and current business partner and remain faithful to Kaylie? Lastly, will Danica be able to comfortably pursue her HEA when her sister's life is in such turmoil?

Surprisingly, for a story based on the lives of sisters, male narrator BJ Harrison manages to render a compelling narration of Sisters in Bloom. Mr. Harrison has a smooth, melodic voice that entrances the listener. Although he doesn't provide a lot of differentiation between his male and female characters, I generally had no trouble following this story, and felt that Mr. Harrison did a good job of maintaining consistency of voices across the two books.

All in all, if you're looking for a story about the quandaries of motherhood, and identity crisis that many of us inevitably go through when we face life changing events in our lives--like the birth of a first child, career changes or struggles, and marriage--Sisters in Bloom is sure to be a story that women fiction lovers can identify with.

I didn't enjoy this book as much as the first one. Danica and Blake are part of this story, so we do get to continue their story. I have to say I didn't really care for Danica in this one. She was written terribly. Total pushover who caters to everyone but herself. And she certainly lives in her sister's shadow.

Kaylie's character was so over the top and unbelievable. She really was portrayed as a shallow and self-centered and self-obsessed character. She wasn't likable. Not even from the first time she opened her mouth. She had no redeeming qualities throughout the entire story. I don't know if there was anything that could have been done to make her a better character. Let's face it, it's Kaylie's world, and everybody else just lives in it.

I felt extremely sorry for Chaz. And Blake. They each had their own sister to deal with and there was just no relief for either of them. Danica was too busy trying to pacify Kaylie and unable to move on with her life with Blake and Kaylie was too busy worrying about herself that she couldn't see or just didn't care how horribly she was treating the people around her. People who genuinely loved and cared for her. It was always about her.

This book was definite let down.

Oh how to review this book? Foster is a great writer, so I'm giving it a three star review, but honestly, I hated how Kaylie evolved in this book. She's self-absorbed, spoiled, immature, and generally uninteresting. I actually skipped several sections that were all about her angst fest. Where's spirited Danica? Where are the interesting characters? Tell me more about Max. I want to hear about Gage and Sally. I do not care about Kaylie angsting over her dress size. There's a subplot about a power-hungry, somewhat sadistic woman that goes nowhere. And I think that my biggest complaint is that the dramatic action continues only because the characters are their own worst enemies. Danica won't marry Blake until she knows Kaylie is happy? Chaz won't tell Kaylie about the old fling with Lea until Kaylie has found out and decides to "leave" him? These people are the authors of their own unhappiness. I'm likely to read the next book in hopes that Danica gets her crap together and is actually fun again. I miss her, but Kaylie can just find another place to be as far as I'm concerned.

Melissa Foster has done it again! I am so in love with this series and these characters. Foster has brought two wonderful sisters, Danica and Kaylie, to life, with all of their quirks, both good and bad, and made me feel like I've made two new friends. I love the interactions between the sisters, and reading the story lines of both. Foster keeps the story going by perfectly blending the story lines of both sisters, while weaving in and out of each others' lives as well. There is just the right blend of romance, drama, and humor. I can't wait for the next one!

Kaylie & Chaz
description

I enjoyed this book a lot more than book 1. I thought going in that it was going to be more about Kaylie and less about Danica but each had equal billing really.

Kaylie is now 8 months pregnant and living with Chaz. They’ve decided on waiting to get married until after the baby comes and have also decided to wait to find out what the sex of the baby is, this makes quite the surprise ending. (Danica has taken to calling the baby “Evil Spawn” which I found quite humorous. In this book Kaylie is upset because she can no longer get singing gigs and believes that it’s because she’s so big. Chaz is having problems of his own with festival funding sponsors and gets called away to try and fix things. However an old flame from the past has now come back to haunt him and it’s one drama after the other for both of them.

Danica has given up her practice and has started the youth center that she had always wanted to. She’s not technically living with Blake yet because she’s afraid of letting go of her safety net which is her apartment even though she’s never there. Her drama wasn’t as bad as Kaylie and Chaz’s but it was still there. I did like Danica more in this book more than I did book 1 though.

Blake, WOW! He was swoon worthy in this book! The perfect boyfriend. He supported Danica and never once faltered nor did he pressure her in any way over anything that happened. Gone was the player of the past. He was just perfect in every way!!! I absolutely LOVED him!!!!!

As I said this book was better than book 1 and the only way thing that kept me from giving it a higher rating was all of the drama. The book was filled with it and while I don’t want everything to be perfect by any means since that would make the book boring, I just felt that some of it was overkill. Onto the next book in the series which is called Sister in White. This book is already out and only $3.99 on Amazon.

She knows Blake is somewhat disappointed she hasn't agreed to marriage yet but he is patient. He surprises her with a house just a mile away from Kaylie and Chaz's home. Danica finally says yes after Kaylie and Chaz are settled.

Kaylie has some insecurities about her career in music. Since her pregnancy she has lost all of her gigs in bars. She is insecure about her body being pregnant too. This one...just as the first in the series...something was missing. Substance maybe? Kaylie is nearing the end of her pregnancy and she has always been the fun and flirty sister and now she is the emotional and hormone laden and mean sister. She is losing her singing career and her identity and taking it out on everyone. She is watching her sister Danica seamlessly move through a career change and find love and seems to be jealous and while she has love with Chas and he really, really loves her she finds herself questioning it because of her issues with her mother. I'm glad I had this in audio because I do not think I would have finished reading it, it would have irritated me too much, but listening to it had me wanting to know how it was going to resolve. There are quite a few other secondary stories to add to the fun.

Sisters in Bloom (Story Sisters #2) focuses on Kaylie, but there is so much more to this book. I loved all the scenes where we catch up with Danica and many other characters. Even though it can definitely be read as a standalone (as can all of the books by this author that I’ve read so far) these Snow Sisters stories read more like a connected series.

I love that with the overlap of storylines in this series we really get to watch so much growth with these characters. I love listening to these books on audiobook. The narrator adds another level of enjoyment to my reading experience and makes my long commute seem like nothing!

The Story:
This is book 2 in the wonderful Love in Bloom universe that Melissa Foster has created. Book 1 in the series concentrated more on Danica's story whereas this one is more about Kaylie & Chaz and their upcoming baby.  Kaylie is going through an pregnant hormonal time in this book, and at times she sometimes came off a whiney kids, but she is dealing with her career taking a bit of a nose dive due to her pregnancy - not music promoter is going to hire her at the moment and she takes that kinda hard. You can see why they wont but it doesn't make Kaylie feel any better.

We see how miscommunication between her and Chaz almost ruin their relationship when a sponsor tried to break them up. This was a great story and cant wait to read more from Danica and Kaylie in book three.

The Narration:
BJ Harrison is back and narrating this instalment of the Snow Sisters books, I have got used to his voice and his female characters now that it made this a nice smooth listen.

What can I say besides I'm addicted? I'm totally hooked on these books. It's been awhile since I've read "chick lit" or romance books. I've forgotten how evjoyable they can be.

The only negative, which really isn't, is that once you get started you won't want to put it down. So much so that I don't know if you should get it now or wait for all of the books to come out. I really can't wait for the rest of the books.

Just like Sisters in Love this book touched me emotionally. The girls, mainly Danica, reminds me of myself at times, and at other times my mom. The book is not only romance. It is also about relationships, mother/daughter, sister/sister, etc. For those of us that have had rocky times/relationships, this book will resonate with you.and have you rethinking your viewpoint of events.

I love the following part when Danica's mother is talking to her. "It was my place to raise you, and to make sure you turned out okay, or at least give you every opportunity to do so. But it's not your job to love me for it, or to even like me as a person." This is so true and I wish others felt the same way. If they did, we might not have all the problems we have with kids. It is a parent's job to be a parent not a friend. If you are lucky you will end up with being both. It is kind of funny because I've always told my kids they don't have to like me. In fact, you probably know you are a good parent if your kids don't like you at some point.

Well, enough of my soap box. This book is kind of like therapy, well, at least it was for me. I've kind of had some of the same problem with my parents. It has helped me see things in a different light, from another viewpoint. I love how Kaylie's doctor puts it. "therapy isn't about giving you the answers. Therapy is about finding the answers within yourself. I just help you find the right path." This is exactly what this book does for me at times.

Don't get me wrong this isn't a "therapy book". It is a book about relationships, romance. Any book that ha you genuinly caring about the characters is a good book. One that makes you reflect on your life is even better.

While this book is mainly for women, men might learn something, especially if their wife or girlfriend is pregnant. This is a great book. I'm sure most people will enjoy it. Parents need to be aware that there are sexually explicit passages. Like I said before, the only thing that will disappoint you is that you have to wait for the next book. Thankfully, there is a new book in the series each month for the next few months.

I received this book to review through Beck Valley Books Book Tours, all the opinions above are 100% my own.

***If you haven’t read the first novel this will be a spoiler!***

I recommend reading the first novel in this series, as it will help you become more acquainted with the characters involved, and it’s a fantastic book!

Once again Foster has delivered an enthralling tale that is beautifully written!

We’re back in Allure, Colorado a few months after the first novel. I was impressed immediately with the smooth transition from Danica’s story to Kaylie’s. The author does an outstanding job of implementing a recap as an internal part of the story instead of an appendage. It was nice to see how the people introduced before weathered the time that had passed, and intriguing to watch as they were strategically placed in the story line. My mind raced as several possible “hookups” and “hiccups” flashed before my eyes.

There seemed to be a bit more resentment between Danica and Kaylie at times, for they made quite a few snippy comments towards and about one another. This fact stood out not because of the vocal expression alone, but from the thoughts that crossed their minds as well. Sisters will be bicker, however, and this added a touch of realism to the characters.

Kaylie is a little more erratic, self-centered, and insecure than normal due to her pregnancy. I can understand the hormones, but her emotions were jerking from one extreme to the other so quickly, I felt like I was going to get whiplash. Poor Chaz! He’s such an endearing hotty with the patience of a saint! Their situation is so familiar, I felt obliged to pull for them and they really fit somehow.

Danica and Blake still have a few wrinkles to iron out, but they also still have that fiery passion! She still fights the urge to play the therapist in most situations, but there’s call for her former self to speak up in this book. Blake’s fortitude is pushed a little, which was frustrating, but I’m partial to this sexy character.

Foster has a unique gift of taking a plethora of situations and turning them into one extraordinary story. I like the fact that steamy situations didn’t stop due to pregnancy, but the thought of a “pregnancy thong” sent a shiver up my spine. There’s a dark twist, new beginnings, and a surprise ending that filled me with elation. The sneak peak of the third installment at the end has me dancing on my tippy toes! I love this series!

AudioBook Review:
Stars: Overall 4 Naration 4 Story 4

Fast forward a bit, and we have Kylie’s story as she navigates through pregnancy hormones, a slowdown in her own career and a bit of a rough patch with her fiancé, Chaz. Not a particularly introspective character, all of these changes have Kylie worried about EVERYTHING, and the doubts are creeping in.

Chaz has a big film festival coming up, and he thinks his life is going along beautifully. Nothing is better than his fiancée and new baby on the way, and this film could mean big things for them all. But the one regret in his life has suddenly reappeared, and the existence of this woman isn’t something he ever shared with her.

Now with Kylie at a low point, a past fling that won’t stay that way and the stress and nerves around the film festival and things are just heating up.

Foster uses a combination of character development, communication and fears that are very real, if sometimes groundless, to build the story and give it teeth. Chaz is a wonderful and steady influence for Kylie, and while their love is obvious they both cling to insecurities and issues from their pasts. Insets from Danica (Kylie’s sister) and her relationship trials in her own life, and the visit from her mother all play to the issues both of the sisters have in their own lives. Issues that their mother’s influence (and some actual common sense) allow them to move forward in their own lives, allowing the past to settle.

Narration is provided by B.J. Harrison, and as I thought with the first in this series, a clever choice of narrator. There is a bit more angst and tension in this story, and Harrison’s ability to present the emotional overtones in the story without overreach or overacting. While character voices are distinct, they do not tip over the line to caricature or overly emoted, and the story is richer for that.

A great installment in the Snow Sisters series, I’m curious to get to the weddings..

I received an audiobook copy of the title from the publisher for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

Author Melissa Foster continues her Sisters series with this second title, Sisters in Bloom. Wild sister Kaylie is the blooming one. While Danica, Blake and Chaz undoubtedly play their parts in this novel, the story is Kaylie’s as she faces a changing world.

After working her way up the ladder of a blooming musical career, pregnant Kaylie now faces the danger of losing everything she’s hoped for. Rejection slips mount, and the failure they promise is only compounded by hormonal irrationality, plus a nagging feeling that she’ll never live up to her uber-successful sister. While others try to help her, and wondrous Chaz stays true, circumstances and misunderstandings conspire to keep Kaylie’s path tortuously uncertain. Meanwhile Danika’s proving better at solving other people’s problems than her own, and the wounds of the past threaten to damage her hopes for the future too. Love interests Blake and Chaz, and a circle of friends whose backstories wait to be told, all gather around while an evil ex-girlfriend plots in the eaves.

Sisters in Bloom tells the trials and tribulations of pregnancy convincingly and well, from hormonal overload to pregnant lovemaking, all the way to childbirth. Meanwhile the trials of love and miscommunication continue as couples destined for each other deal with the mysteries of their different pasts. Some characters beg for more story time to themselves, and I hope the author will continue and tell their tales in later volumes. Meanwhile, this novel ends on a high-note of enjoyable completion, with one set of problems safely resolved, lives reordered, and many joys to come.

Disclosure: I received a free eARC of this novel with a request for my honest review.

Sister’s in Bloom is the second book in the Love in Bloom: Snow Sisters series by Melissa Foster. This book is part of a series and it is best to read this book in order so that you get a complete understanding of the story Ms. Foster is telling. I loved this book even more than the first. Ms. Foster did a wonderful job of weaving Kaylie and Chaz’s story while continuing to tell Danica and Blake’s story from the first book in the series.

In the first book, I got an impression that Kaylie was a self-center brat but in this book, you get a better picture of Kaylie than you did in the first book. It’s easy to see her parent’s marriage and divorce affected both Danica and Kaylie but Kaylie has not gotten over it. I enjoyed watching Kaylie grow and mature in this book because she did not want her baby to have the same hang-up’s she did.

Chaz is in love with Kaylie, head over heels in love. He is will to put up with all her neurotic mood swings. He is the perfect man for Kaylie. He has everything he wants in life. However, Chaz’s only problem is a woman from a few years ago wants back in his life and to keep her out he has to tell a secret that he does not tell many.

Overall, this was a wonderfully told story. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series to see what happens next. I love that no matter how tough life gets Kaylie and Danica still are friends as well as sister. Each is there for the other no matter what.

Sisters in Bloom by Melissa Foster is a sequel that does not disappoint! Sometimes in series, the following books don’t always live up to the first, or distract from the story you initially fell in love with, but fear not, SIB is the perfect sequel!
This installment focuses more on the story of Kaylie and Chaz, which I was happy about, I was happy that Danica and Blake remained prevalent in the book, so that the reader gets to see the continuation of their story and gets answers to all the lingering questions. Foster does an excellent job at weaving the lives of the two sisters and two couples into a seamless story.
One thing I absolutely adored was that there wasn’t a lengthy wait time between the release of he first story and this one. Nothing is more torturous that getting hooked on a good storyline and then having to wait an eternity for the next installment! Although In the beginning of the story, Kaylie is still the bratty, self centered character from the first novel, Foster does a remarkable job of making her likeable despite this, and gives us deeper incite into why, so we better understand her character and appreciate her growth.
I was thrilled to be asked again to review this sequel after having adored the first book, Sisters in Love. Run to be nearest bookstore or quickly tap your eReader button to continue the journey with these delightful characters.

What's the star rating for absolutely hated this book?

Any man who remembers sex with the crazy stalker woman who is trying to destroy his relationship with his pregnant fiance as "worth it" is worse than pond scum; his shit on the ass of pond scum.

Why do all these women have to label others as Pretty or Not Pretty? How can a woman proudly self-identify as a Barbie?

The fact that this mess too approximately 58 chapters to get through (58?!) was because we had to have Danica's POV (and seriously? I was revolted by constantly referring to her niece or nephew as "evil spawn". She's still incredibly nasty) included. Adding in the next sister's POV and the next book should last upwards of 100 chapters!

The only reason why I continued is because I want to know about Max. She seems like the sanest one of the bunch, and that's probably because she didn't grow up in Allure with all the other shallow people.

Sisters in Bloom picks up where Book one has left off, allowing us to see inside the heads of the Snow sisters and their love interests.

Danica has finally learned to not be so uptight and do what is expected of her all the time. She's opened a business for herself, something she's always wanted to do. And her and Blake are getting serious.

Kaylie is on a journey of self-discovery, where she is trying to come to terms with who she is as a person. Chaz is having to do the same thing but not to the same degree as Kaylie.

I liked this book really well. I was glad to see where the sisters had gone after leaving book one, but I wasn't as enraptured by it as I was the first.

Nonetheless, it's a beautiful story of love and life, and I think all romance lovers will enjoy this book!

This book was another fun read overall. I have to admit I wasn't sure I would like Kaylie's story. In Sisters in Love she seemed a little selfish and flaky. In the beginning of Sisters in Bloom she still seems like a spoiled drama queen at first. But as she comes to terms with what being in a committed relationship and motherhood means Kaylie grows. By the end I truly came to love and admire her. In fact, near the end it was Danica who got a little frustrating. Even though this is mainly Kaylie and Chaz's story, the other characters I came to care for in the first book, had their stories continue to move forward in this one. Melissa Foster develops the lives of her characters in a very satisfying and realistic way. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book.

I was given an advanced readers copy of Sisters in Bloom in exchange for an honest review.

I Love this series. I love the sisters, their relationship, their loves of their lives, and all of the drama that goes along with it. I love the friendships that they build throughout the books and how they are interwoven so well. I love the passion and depth of Kaylie and Chaz as they await their new baby and of Danica and Blake as they fall deeper in love.
After reading this and the first in the series, I feel like I know these characters so well and cannot wait for their next chapters. Bring on the 3rd please Melissa Foster - this series has become one of my favorites and I thank you!!!
Highly recommend!!

Kaylee certainly shines in this segment of the series. We are given much more insight to who really is. With all the events taking place in her life she really comes out with flying colors. There were occasions that her inability to just handle things weakened my faith in her though. A little too much rollercoaster emotion from this character. I loved the sister dynamics that are explored further. Danica still playing a major role as the big sister and the issues with her mother gave a lot honesty to and added much appeal to the story.

Another quick and easy read. I enjoyed the realism of Kaylie's pregnancy. The irrational mood swings. I've seen other reviews calling her a brat and childish, but I remember being pregnant and not being able to control the thoughts and emotions. I liked that the author had Kaylie wondering why she was acting that way and not being able to stop certain things from coming out of her mouth. I'd bet a lot of pregnant women have the same problems.

All in all, if you enjoyed the first book you will enjoy this one.

Libro piacevole.

I'm a bit torn while writing this review. I found this book well written but the storyline lacking. The main female character drove me a bit nuts! I guess I like my female characters stronger with more character than the one in this book. Not a bad read but it took patience for me to finish it.

I wasn't a big fan of the second sister--I found her annoying and self-centered. I stopped reading the book once, but then picked it up again to see if she improved at second glance--she didn't.

This is a review of the audiobook version of this book.

Sisters in Bloom is largely the story of Kaylie Snow who is 8 months pregnant worried about her burgeoning weight, her flagging singing career, doubting Chaz, her fiancée’s, fidelity, and trying desperately not to turn into her mother. Having always been the free-spirited, fun-loving, pretty girl, Kaylie is experiencing many of the self-doubts experienced by new mothers to be. At the same time her sister Danica is faced with decisions to make about her relationship with her boyfriend, Blake. The arrival of their mother, who has undergone changes of her own, results in challenges and introspection from both sisters. Add in side stories of other characters in the Snow Sister’s orbit and there is more than enough drama to go around.

As is her style, Melissa Foster writes complex multi-layered books that tend to center on relationships and character growth with romance as more of a vehicle for the characters to learn and grow. While it had its steamy moments, this book was particularly emotional with the over-the-top emotions and angst raging in Kaylie. I finished this book feeling rather battered and overwhelmed by the intense emotions.

I found Kaylie to be very self-centered and self-absorbed. More worried about being pretty and thin after her baby is born, whining about a drop off in her singing gigs and constantly carrying on about not wanting to turn into her mother (who she perceived as being weak because she stayed with their father in spite of his infidelity). I really did not like her as a person and often just wanted to slap her and tell her to grow up. I disliked her almost hatred of her mother, when I felt she should be supporting her mom and seeing how she did what she did for her girls. Kaylie’s lack of self-awareness was consistent with her self-centeredness. Several times during the book she would say to herself that she was not that person that did X, Y or Z and I practically laughed out loud thinking, “Oh yeah, that is you exactly, honey.” The way that Danica constantly put her own happiness on hold or had it take a back seat to Kaylie’s drama also drove me nuts.

Fortunately, Kaylie seeks out help in sorting out her emotions and gaining more self-awareness. By the end of the book, she was beginning to make amends with her mother and started to dial back the self-centeredness. I don’t think I will ever like her, but she became a more likeable person. Danica, who we met in the first Snow Sisters book, has grown with her relationship with Blake and continues to grow in this book as she deals with her sisters’ drama as well as that of friends and co-workers at her new community center. I look forward to seeing the stories of many of the secondary characters evolve in future books. I like that the author tackles real-life topics (such as a woman’s doubts and career fears when pregnant) and has her characters learn and grow over the course of the book.

B. J. Harrison did his usual remarkable job with the narration. His smooth voice is easy to listen to and he voices each character very effectively. I will look for him in other series.

3.5 – 4 Stars

Sisters in Bloom is the second book in the Snow Sisters series (Love in Bloom Book #2) by Melissa Foster. The Love in Bloom series proved to be a heartwarming journey through love, family, and personal growth. Spanning multiple interconnected series/stories, it offers a wonderful blend of romance, humor, and emotional depth that kept me reading the whole way through.
Ms. Foster crafted fully developed, relatable, and multidimensional characters who added an extra element of emotion and interest to my overall reading experience. The heroes are fiercely loyal and endearing, while the heroines are smart, empowered, and refreshingly ‘real’. Each character feels like someone you could know in real life, making their struggles and triumphs, high and lows, all the more impactful.
The stories have a perfect balance of steamy romance mixed with heartfelt moments. But that doesn’t mean that Ms. Foster shies away from exploring deeper themes like forgiveness, self-discovery, and the complexities of relationships – adding dynamic layers to the storyline/s. But, despite the emotional depth, the series still maintains more of a lighthearted charm, sprinkled with humor and tender family connections.
While each novel can be read as a standalone, there is an interconnectedness with the recurring characters and overlapping storylines - which help create a sense of community that feels warm and inviting. It’s like being welcomed into a big, loving family where everyone has a worthwhile story to tell.
‘Within the Love in Bloom big-family romance collection you'll find fiercely loyal heroes and smart, empowered women on their search for true love. They're flawed, funny, and easy to relate to. Characters from each series appear in future Love in Bloom books…’
If you are a fan of contemporary romance or simply looking for a feel-good series to escape into, this series is a worthwhile binge read…
