DNF at 50%. This book needs some major editing. The interactions between the characters were confusing most of the time. They were rather toxic. And when I realised this is part of a trilogy, I just couldn't see myself invest so much time in this story.

I loved this book so much! MJ Fields writes real life battles we go through in life. Brody and Emma beat the odds.
Brody is a gorgeous British rock star and Lila is Emma’s best friend. Lila is Brody and his bands PR. When Emma and Brody meet it’s instant attraction and that attraction turns into such a passionate beautiful love ❤️
This is a powerful love story, with a roller coaster of emotions and how their love is intensely strong!
Wonderful storyline and characters with me anticipating book 2.

What did I think?

One word: Wow.

If you have read Ms. Field's other books, you know that you're expecting some level of conflict, and real-life struggles for her characters to go through. You're also expecting it to be "adult-oriented"...as this definitely is.

"Bad boy" musician, Brody Hines, whose publicist introduces him to the elusive Emma, falls in love. Hard. While the book seems to move pretty quickly {as does their love story}, it is totally believable...hello?! Have we heard of Britney Spears?

The story line is fantastic, and deals with a lot of very personal, and very real issues that people face today: cancer, family tragedies, drug abuse, alcoholism, and love. Real, absolutely delightful, can't live without each other love.

I loved this book, more.

I wanted to like this book. I really did. I love a good rockstar (think Kellan Kyle). I felt the plot had potential. It started out decent enough, but then it just tumbled downhill & it fell fast. Characters were having some major mood swings, scenes were very disjointed, and editing was HORRIBLE! I’m surprised I even finished this book. But I definitely will not be wasting my time on the rest of the series!

Silk strings of love that prove to be tougher than steel. That is the main central theme of this novel. MJ has written this Single parent /Rockstar romance with usual heat and passion, but it stood out for me for its reverse age gap connection. Like a breath of fresh air, the heroine - Emma Fields is struggling through a divorce. She's older than our famous rockstar, also going through a divorce.
Marital turbulence brings together this unlikely couple in New York City.
I loved the premise, the potential and the emotions involved.
Treatment could've been a tad more tighter.
Love the fact that Emma was older, wiser.
Brody sure does hide some darker facets of his personality and soon when they come out to "play"......Oh My!!!
Nice, sexy story. Will keep you engrossed

Emotionally Deep Characters

Labeled as a highly emotional, sensitive story about second chances at life and love. A sweet, slow-burn contemporary romance novel. One in which I fully agree with after reading story between single mother, Emma, and Brody, one of the most popular rock stars in the world. MJ Fields always has the knack for writing emotionally charged romance books; weaves such depth into their characters and plot.

Two things they both have in common besides their instant attraction... One, they're both separated and either on the verge of (Emma, married into the Ross/Fields families) or going through a divorce (Brody). Two, the want to rebuild their lives.

Brody is swoonworthy, several years younger than Emma and is wanting to put his emotions and attraction towards her into motion. Total book boyfriend material ❣️ Emma after over a decade of being with her a$$hole of a husband, is primarily focused on London, her seven year old daughter.

I felt for them the entire read. Being a single mother to three kids for over a decade, I know and understand the trials and tribulations she does by putting herself last.

Fun fact: This was originally published in 2013. However, the author added scenes and change the entire book from singular narrative to duel POV.

Cliffhanger? ✅️

Do I recommend? ✅️

Tropes: second chance, rockstar romance, reverse age-gap, single parent

Emma Fields is separated and headed for divorce when she visits an old college friend in New York City. All she cares about is finding happiness while raising her seven-year-old daughter, London. She ends up running into British rockstar, Brody Hines, literally. He's also going through a divorce while being the sexiest and most popular rockstar in the world. Attraction is immediate even though Emma doesn't have time for any distractions. Then again, he could be the perfect distraction for her first weekend without her daughter.

This one definitely had enough angst and heat to have my heart happy. Didn't expect the cliffhanger but the next book is already out. It was certainly emotional and had me riding one hell of a rollercoaster. If you love rockstar romance as much as I do, then I am recommending this read. This is my honest opinion, freely given.

I really LOVE this author & her writing so much as not only does it do my heart in, but it's brilliant & very addictive so I was super excited about Wrapped in Silk coming out, and it did not disappoint. Emma is getting divorced so she's not looking for anything else other than to take care of her scene stealing daughter, London. Brody Hines is a bad boy British rock star who has his difficulties going on with a relationship so neither were looking for anything when they met despite the fact there was their instant attraction to each other, however, the heart wants what the heart wants. These two may have fallen hard super quickly, but there are a lot of bumps in the road making for a roller coaster ride of angst that did my emotions in. Luckily we have little London to give us some relief from all the feels because these two are dealing with real life issues making it more emotional for me because of how realistic it felt. There are even some twists that come from left field making me happy with a kicker of heat, and it leads to a cliffhanger which has me now impatiently waiting for more! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Wrapped In Silk is a rockstar/single parent/second chance at love romance. Brody and Emma's story was engrossing and held my interest until the end. I loved them together. Both coming out of a divorce, they each had baggage but the chemistry between them was ever present and while their story started as a slow burn their eventual steamy scenes were sizzling hott.
Alot happened in this story, that had me glued to the pages as we go on this emotional and angsty journey with these two. It was interesting to see how their relationship evolved and how they were there for each other throughout. There were some dark undertones in the second half of the novel. There were some fantastic side characters who certainly stole the show at one point or another, most especially London and Lila and I loved Brody's relationship with London throughout this novel. Told in dual POV, this story although lengthy, was a fantastic read with some unexpected twists and turns, and leaves us with a cliff-hanger. I can't wait for book 2 to see what happens next. I would highly recommend it to romance lovers.

I wish I could give Wrapped in Silk more stars.

Sadly, I had a few problems with this book.

The characters were so hot and cold and a bit bi-polar, perhaps. I read someone else's review that had mention this, as well. A character would be bawling there eyes out and then out of nowhere, was completely fine.

The story line had so much promise but it just didn't flow well, at all. I was frustrated throughout, because I was constantly getting confused. I kept thinking I had skipped a page, paragraph, or line. There was dialogue and thoughts missing on just about every page.

There were also a lot of mistakes in editing. I'm understanding of a few errors here and there, but this book was off the charts. There were quite a few incorrect words used.

I did love the dynamic between Emma and Brody. Very raw, emotional relationship. In my opinion, their relationship seemed to go at a very fast pace. Almost to the point of unrealistic.

Maybe I'm a masochist but regardless of this review, I still want to know what happens next. Again, the story line is interesting. I just hope the next book is better written.

5 Star Review Wrapped in Silk by M.J. Fields

I love single parent stories and when I read the blurb for Wrapped in Silk I was intrigued by single mum Emma and rock star Brody’s story.

Sometimes love is found when you least expect it. This is what happens for Emma and Brody who are both going through divorce. For Emma and her daughter London, they are at a turning point in their lives. Wrapped In Silk was an emotional roller coaster of a read. The characters have been through a lot and are struggling to see light at the end of the tunnel.

Could Emma and Brody find happiness together? One click and find out.

AMAZING!!!
I fell hard for our hero!
And want to be besties with our heroine!
A love story with so many ups and downs I don't know how it survived.
Heat oh there was heat!! My Kindle was smoking and I needed a cold shower after some chapters.
But my favorite part was watching Brody fall in love with little London as he fell in love with her mama. SWOON!!
BUT What the Hell! That ending just when they had their HEA!
MJ Fields You suck and Gah I am dying for the next book.

In one word: wow. There was so much going on in this book. When I’m reading it is normally like a movie in my mind. This book felt more like a whole season of a TV series. Not in a bad way. This book has been rewritten into a dual pov, from a single pov and rereleased.

Brody is a British rock star about to get divorced from his wife who was cheating on him. Emma is a US substitute teacher who is getting divorced from the man she’s been married to for a long time, in the process becoming a single mother, and trying to figure out how to support herself and her daughter. They *literally* run into one another and the universe keeps throwing them at each other from there. Not to say that they have it easy. They both come with A LOT of baggage, and in the process of the book they have so many obstacles and bombs dropping around them that there would be enough material for a crisis a tv episode, ending in a season. And of course, nothing beats a good cliffhanger at the end of the season to lead into the next one, right?

As per what can be expected, MJ Fields delivers yet another heart-wrenching love story.

Brody is a rockstar with a heart of gold and a truckload of his own issues
Emma is a single mom going through a divorce

Brody and Emma are instantly attracted to each other and it quickly leads to a much deeper level. But nothing is ever as easy as it seems.
From ex-husbands to health issues, the two of them are put through the wringer.
Don't let that put you off though...the roller coaster ride is well worth it!

This was a great book, Brody and Emma, oh what a pair. They will have you so frustrated and in such an emotional roller coaster of a state. And Emma’s daughter London, that sweet girl.

The drama with Brody’s family and all the up and down between the two keep you hooked to the story. I love this story and I can’t wait to see what’s next for this author!

I loved this book! It was so good and such an emotional rollercoaster. I devoured this single parent, rockstar, second chance, age-gap romance in one sitting and I need more. The angst, the drama, and the beautiful love story had me hooked and I can’t wait to read the second book after that cliffhanger!

Oh Brody You're So Fine

There's so much to love about this story, especially the bond between Emma and London, that's certainly a special mother/daughter relationship. I will say that London is certainly mature for her age and some of the dialogue surprised me. I loved Brody's pursuit of Emma, his determination that they belonged together was inspiring. This story really made me go through the gamut of emotions and I spent a good amount of time frustrated, which is typical of any relationship but also that ending. I have to know how this ends especially because I didn't read the original series.

A second chance romance not only for Emma but for Brody as well. Both finding a chance a something beautiful a family they both crave to have and keep despite their age differences. This story by MJ Fields is filled with not only filled with passion and the excitement of new love. But also with the confusion of insecurity and self doubt. She throws us into a tail spin of yes or no and then definite and absolute commitment only to be derailed by a mystery fraught with danger.
You are wrapped in the peace and beauty of pure passion and love and then shaken up by a dark possibility of danger. This book takes you through the gamut of emotions. Addictive, it will leave you craving the second book!

Brody is a British Rockstar. Who is constantly being harassed by paparazzi and fans. So, when Brody literally runs into Emma. He thinks she is a crazed fan. But she has no idea who he is. When they meet again, through Emma’s best friend. Brody still believes she is playing some game. He treats her horribly. But the more time they spend together Brody realizes Emma doesn’t know who he is and how much they have in common. They are both going through a divorce. When he sees that Emma will give up everything for her daughter London, it intrigues him even more. He asks if he contact her to see how the court hearing goes. Brody then decides to pursue Emma even though she doesn’t want to date. He is relentless in his pursuit of her. She gives in. But when outside forces try to break them up. Will they give up?
It is an emotional journey for them. But it will suck you in. I cannot wait to ready the conclusion. If you like angst stories this one is for you. Warning it does end in a cliffhanger.

Read as an ARC - my options

What I liked:
+ Brody was very likable, he was a superstar, but hated the spotlight. His love of London was great to see. His easing Emma into his kinks was very good.
+ Emma was broken and then healed so well. She made her daughter a priority, but realized she herself needed to be happy.
+ London...she is just adorable.
+ The spicy scenes were well done, slowly adding kink as Em grew more comfortable.
+ Family was a big part of the relationship which was nice to see.
+The possible finding Ems sister...seeing g that trail will be fun (hopefully)

What I didn't like:
- He is a superstar, right? He toured, he made a record, he did a couple interview then no mention of his fame.
- Unless the cancer comes back to wreck their future, why have it? It was just ONE more thing to get through.
- The spicy scenes were a bit repetitive...yes, we know Em likes to give head...
- The writing to start was a bit wandering and jumped and broke a lot in the start. As the book went along things smoothed out.
- There was just a lot of side things. The divorces, the ex to rehab, the cancer, the surrogacy, the uncle, the best friend/PR girl and her Dr man (and proposal). Maybe it will all make sense in the following books...I hope.

Overall, I like the characters and the overall story.
Will I read the others? Yea....I need to know, now.

Wrapped in Silk is book one in the Wrapped Series and it’s single mum Emma and rock star Brody’s journey and if like me single parents are your jam, this book should certainly be on your radar. This book has something for everyone and it will certainly to a wide range of audiences, it’s emotional and at times you will feel like you are one big roller coaster but it’s MJ Fields wonderful way with words that make this a very believable journey. The characters are not perfect, they have baggage but that’s what makes them real so will they find happiness together…….
I loved Brody and Emma, the attraction they shared was instant, the chemistry is intense but it was the love that jumped off the page that took this book to another level.

Having read Ms.Fields's work many times before i always look so forward to picking up more of her books! From the moment this one was announced i was instantly curious about it. With every teaser, i wanted to read it even more! I picked it up and got right into The Brody Hines world! I enjoyed this first book!

Emma and Brody's journey captured my attention! As these two are brought into each other's lives, i couldn't wait to see how everything would play out for them!

I wasn't sure what all to expect going into this story and that got me into it even more so. I was so glad that i got to dig deeper with these two! Both Emma and Brody made me feel so many things all throughout this first book!

With Wrapped In Silk, Ms.Fields has created such a good read! I am so looking forward to more!
