2.5 FRUSTRATING STARS!!

It started off and I was like hmmm okay...

It might get really good huh..

Then I was like oh god really? Teacher student romance are not my cup of tea..or maybe I am reading all the wrong books?

This book seems to go on forever..
And just when I thought things would start getting better BOOM!
The main character starts acting like some whore!

Uhmm jumping from one guy who you where supposedly in love with for 5 so called years on to someone else after a misunderstanding?

I love my teacher..*misunderstanding*.. I'm so mad at him..Oooh look at that hot guy ..I feel horny -_-
Bitch you need a slap!

• Ever After #1
• release date - 26 September - 2013

My Opinion:

I loved it ☺

I don't even know where to start. There were soooo many things I liked and didn't like ... let me start with a summary of the story.

London.

description

Almost 19-year-old Olivia has had a crush on her maths teacher Mr. Matthews for six years now.

They always had a good teacher-student relationship - always talking about their football teams and joking with each other. But now, 3 weeks before Olivia's finished with school she finally realizes that he has feelings for her too. They start seeing each other secretly - they don't want to get into trouble with the school.

description

They spend 3 wonderful weeks together but then things start to get ugly.

Olivia's Ex Lucas still wants her and he doesn't take NO for an answer - he ends up stalking and harrassing her - and even worse.

Then there's Olivia's sad past. She has been molested by her own uncle as a little girl and she still has nightmares about that.

Plus - some bad people are after her.

Lots of things are happening in the second half of the book....

But ..... I can't tell you ☺

I don't want to spoil your reading pleasure ☺

Maybe I can mention a few little details:

there will be lots of romantic and erotic moments ♥

description

there will be 2 other young guys - both interested in Olivia

Olivia's parents are almost never home - they both work at the hospital

Mr. Matthews (Jamie) has some secrets of his own

Olivia kind of has the same secret (sounds weird - but you know what I mean when you read it)

Olivia has a favorite uncle: Austin - he's her dad's younger brother and her best friend

Will there be a happy end???

Noooo - I'm not telling you that ;)

GO READ IT YOURSELF!!!!☺

____________________________________________________________

I ENJOYED THE BOOK A LOT

I couldn't put it down - I needed to know what happened with Olivia and Jamie and all the others.

There were sooo many interesting things in that book - maybe a few too many. The first half of the book was this nice sexy student - teacher romance - but then in the second half the s**t hit the fan ☺

Now for the few things that disturbed/annoyed me a bit ☺

no offense please Natalie - I really loved the book ☺

First the writing - there were 2 'styles' that I hadn't read like that in any book before - and I read A LOT!

I know Natalie is british - so maybe it's a british thing - but I read lots of british authors before - so I don't know - maybe a local accent?

She uses a weird kind of writing:

he WAS STOOD watching me

they were both SAT at home

from where I WAS STOOD, I could...

do you know what I mean?? It sounds so very weird to my ears.

and then she uses AS a LOT - she puts AS in the place where I would use a BECAUSE... I've seen that before but not as much - other authors use it once or twice in a book and it's on every page here ☺

I pulled up a few AS I wasn't sure....

he couldn't be here today AS he had to ....

ok that's about the writing ☺

Now about the britishness of the whole book - suppose american people read the book or german people like me - the whole school system references in it won't make a bit of sense to them/us ☺ Registration class?? Revision? Sixth form? When I was in 6th class I was 12 ☺ very weird ☺

NOW about the story ☺

I'm not a huge fan of the student - teacher thing. Because it always feels real creepy and pedophile to me. And it really starts out that way here too - because we don't find out how old Jamie is until 75% of the book - he's only 26!!!! Had Natalie told us that at the beginning I wouldn't have been so creeped out about it. My husband is also 7.5 years older than me ☺ I was really afraid that Mr. Matthews was maybe already 39 or so.

Then the twist thingy that happens around the 78% mark - you will know when you read it - it was soooo horrible - the way Olivia behaved!!!! How can she suddenly do that?? ugh I almost threw my kindle against the wall ☺

The whole second half of the book felt a bit full with events. The first half was only this sweet romantic sexy Romance and then BAM - so many secrets and suspense and whatnot ☺

GRRR it's horrible that I can't really talk about what I mean - because it would just spoil too much...

You just have to go and buy the book yourselves ☺

It's a wonderful New Adult Romance - and as the book cover already suggests: WITH NO FAIRY TALE ENDING...

(did I cry?? YES I did ☺)

and that is why I can't wait for the second book to come out...
and the third one ☺ I sooo need my happy ever after!

Hurry up Natalie - I need to know what will happen!!

So, I've been sitting here for a while now; just trying to get my thoughts straight enough about this book to write a half decent review.
I'm sorry to say, that isn't going to happen and that's BECAUSE I'm in mourning. I'm mourning the end of this fabulous book.

I'm not usually a fan of romance/erotic fiction as I find the writing in erotic fiction often pulls me out of the story and I find myself rolling my eyes. This did NOT happen. In fact at one point during the beginning of Liv and Jamie's romance I actually found myself grinning and kicking my legs about like a pre-teen and a 1D concert. But enough about that...

This is SO much more than a love story. For the first third of the book I was totally swept away with in the blooming romance between Olivia and the glorious Mr Matthews (I will always love him). Writing a book about an 18 year old girl falling in love with her teacher and having those feeling reciprocated has a danger or running in to "cheesy" territory. Graham avoided this completely and gave our two main characters a great rapport and I will be honest, some of the dialog between them had me laughing out loud, then re reading and laughing again. I found myself getting butterflies along with Olivia and it took me back to being a teenager in the first flush of lust and love.

Then the shit hit the fan and went EVERYWHERE. Firstly we have a rage inducing encounter with Liv's ex fuckbag, sorry, I mean boyfriend, Lucas (ARSEHOLE!) and that's when things really started heating up (in more ways than one.)

We have sex, deceit (and lots of it) and a plot by someone to hurt Liv. Is it Lucas or someone else with a grudge? We also have heartbreak and some glorious scenes between Liv and her Uncle Austin.

We find out what Liv's secret is from her childhood. It's heartbreaking and even though the subject matter is upsetting, it was written perfectly by Graham.

Towards the end of the book I found myself getting annoyed by the choices Olivia was making and spent a large part of last night head shouting "NOOO! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" Then I remembered myself as an 18 year old and told my brain to shut the hell up.

To sum up, this story is so many things. It's more than a love story, more than a mystery. It's far more than a story about a girl in love with her teacher.

And I for one can't wait to find out what happens in the next instalment.

Bravo, Mrs Graham. What a brilliant debut.

I was happy to be gifted this book by the author.

I read the warning sign but pressed ahead. The further I got along with the story the more it had me wriggling in my seat. At that point, I was considering giving it up. BUT I am so glad I didn't do that, as this book although makes you uncomfortable in its subject matter you just have to read the other half. The action in the latter half I couldn't have dreamed of if I'd had 2 days to sit and think how this would conclude, it entrapped me just over halfway through. Is a MUST read.

WOW!!!! This about sums it up. I was enthralled by this book from the beginning to the end!!!!

This book covers a vast array of subjects and emotions and they ALL come together in ways that the reader NEVER sees coming. The plots keep shifting and just when you think you understand what/why everything has happened..................BOOM!!! SURPRISE!!!!! (Natalie Graham............you had me biting my lower lip and moaning quite often!!!!) KUDOS.

The bond between Olivia Stevens and Jamie Matthews is one that many of us wish we had or experienced in our life. (Wait......I have to lower my arm.) The teacher/student attraction is brought to so many different levels in this book. Most will leave you smiling, some will have you moaning, (actually SEVERAL will.)

There is also a few sensitive topics thrown in and believe me when I say that THESE topics are needed in this book. It makes the story much more intense!!!!

The ending of the book left me gasping from shock!!!!!!!!!! (I believe I smell a 2nd installment in the works!!!!)

I loved it and wouldn't have minded if this book went on for several more chapters. It had me on the edge and I so crave more.

I've never written a book review before so please bare with me

firstly wow the sexual tension and chemistry between Olivia and Mr Matthews it made me go back to being a teenager and my first crush .. not on a teacher I might add, but all the feelings I felt can flooding back with this book I so prayed that the wonderful Mr Matthews felt the same . I was delighted he did.
Then there was all the twists and turns of secrets and horrid exes getting in the way. not to ruin the plot but the arrival of the muscle man Riley had me on knots I wanted her to stay away from him. until you then think Mr Matthews may have been a bit silly.
The final third of the book with the tensions and plot just was genius. I so wanted a happy ending for liv and the wonderful Mr Matthews .. now I can't wait for a follow up ... and there better be one .

great book fab author

Broken Ever After by Natalie Graham is full of twists and surprises. The first half of the book you get to know about Olivia Stevens. Olivia has a crush on her hot math teacher Mr.Matthews(Jamie) for about six years and one faithful day things change when she gets detention. That day the whole course of Olivia’s life changed when Mr. Matthews actually reciprocated back his feelings. what's a girl to do?
"Did I just dream that? I touched my fingertips to my lips which were still tingling from the feel of Jamie's pressed against them..."
From that day forward they were inseparable. Dealing with the whole teacher and student issue didn't help them at all. when Olivia's Ex boyfriend comes into the picture and wants her back and he will do anything to have her. Things start to get a little crazy and move pretty fast at this point.
The relationship between Olivia and Jamie was sweet and hot. I loved their chemistry it seemed a bit rushed but if you think about it they both had crush on each other so it was bound to happen quickly I would say.
“Are you sure you want to do this?”
“I’m sure”
“ I don't want you to do this as a reaction to what happened tonight; I want you to want to because it means something to you, like it does to me.”
“What does it mean to you?”
“To me... It means that I will be making love to my girlfriend for the first time, sharing that moment with her, showing her how much I...”
“What?”
“How much I’m in love with her... I love you”
As you get to the middle of the book It felt like I went right into the second book in the series with a whole new set of characters and twists to the story and it got pretty damn interesting as a new sexer and hotter guy who is a PPO named Connor Riley comes into play and grabs Olivia’s interest and did I say mine? To Olivia everything feels different with Connor
“I always thought it sounded stupid when people say that the “earth moved for them” but it actually did. I felt like everything I’d know had been tipped upside down, flipped in reverse and turned inside out. I didn't know which way was up anymore.”
Now doesn't that just make you wonder what happened to Mr. Matthews? The second half of Broken Ever After is truly a good story that will leave you guessing until the end.

One of a few things that I didn't like was her parents. They aren't ever around and always working. They don’t realize that their daughter is dating a teacher or whatever else is happening in her life. Which I didn't like only because of Olivias dark past. As a parent you protect your child after something so dark and they just weren't there. The other is what happened to her friends? I can’t really say what I want without spoiling it but I’ll say that after what happened. You would think that they would be there.
Broken Ever After was a good story. It had everything from anger, joy, sadness to emotion. But it felt a bit short when it came to bringing it all together. I felt it was a bit rushed at times and lacking in other areas. But it does not in anyway mean that it wasn't enjoyable. It was a bit slow pace in the beginning but through the middle it grabbed my interest until the end. I was left with questions without answers so I will be reading the next installment of this series. Hopefully it will be a bit more put together and flow better but I'm sure it will still be a great story as Broken Ever After was.

What would you do if the guy you wanted for the last 6 years actually gave you the time of day?Freak the Fuck out right? I know I would...Now wait as I set up the scene: He is Fine as all Fucking Hell, with a muscular body and a panty wetting smile! Ooooh yeah.... AND he's a teacher. Not just any teacher he is your math teacher! And Thank God finals are coming up and school is almost out. With only a few weeks that is between what you want and what you will have, all you have to do is wait and then whatever happens will happen..... Right? Hmm well that's exactly what Olivia Stevens plan was but.... But shit doesn't always play out the way we think it will, does it? Olivia (Liv) Stevens is in 6th form with 3 weeks until schools out and she goes off to Uni. She has crushed on Mr. Mathews since he came to teach at her school 6 years ago. They have always had a friendly, flirty banter that revolved around their rival football teams. Liv always thought the attraction and connection she felt was one sided until he had to drive her home from school one day, that became the beginning of innocents end. The feeling between them was definitely mutual! With only a few, three weeks I said Right? Well...Mr. Matthews couldn't keep his hands to himself or off Olivia's tempting skin for that long. And then you realize shit at home for Liv wasn't all that rosy. Her parents are rarely home and she has some dark family secret she was been hiding and harboring for YEARS. Not to mention a psycho ex boyfriend that wanted to take her virginity. She had A LOT GOING ON! All she wanted to do was persue a relationship with Mr. Mattews and do all the dirty, bad girl things she'd wanted to over the last 6 years!
Mr. Jamie Mathews! Ohh so cool, calm and collected. All he had to do was flash that sexy smile. You know the one where his lips quirk up on the ends. Yep girl THAT sexy smirk was all it took and he got WHATEVA he wanted. And guess what... all he ever definitely wanted was Olivia, but he didn't know how it was possible considering she was his student. Then she falls ill one day and he gets to drive her home so he makes his move and it pays off for awhile. He showers her with gifts, he saves her, he makes it hard not to wait the 3 weeks by using the way he kisses her and taking breath way, he keeps her body constantly lit up and aching for more. He makes magic with his hands lemme tell ya!!! I wanted to jump into my Kindle a few times and take Olivia's place! Ooookaayyy!!!!! They are engaged in a Web of lies, lust, love, betrayal and deceit that is bound to keep them from each other as much as they want to be together. However just because two people love each other doesn't always mean they should be together or does it? Natalie Graham went ahead and did this damn thing, and she did it right! I have to say and I will be stalking her for her next book release!
This gets 4.5 BadAss-LustyDeliciouslyDeceitful- Stars in my book baby!

Twists and turns and the last 30% of this book had me anxious and thinking 'what the hell is happening?'

Some people might find teacher/student romances creepy but I think depending on the age, it has it's realistic aspects. Although we didn't find out Mr Matthews age until quite late in the story, I felt that you could tell that he was only mid twenties (he is in fact 26).

We meet Olivia, an 18 year old sixth form student only weeks from finishing school. She has had a major crush on her math teacher Mr Matthews for six years and what we find out through small conversations and situations is that Mr Jamie Matthews is pretty well taken by Olivia as well.

A forbidden romance is ignited between the two with a few interactions that almost lead too far but they hold back until the day after Olivia officially finishes school. The two weeks leading to this day aren't smooth sailing for the couple, there is a jealous ex who is hell bent on revenge trying to get between the couple, which leads to an unpleasant ordeal where Jamie rescues Olivia.

The rest of the book is played out over only a very short period of time (maybe a week - a week and a half). In that time there is danger from another source, and secrets that Olivia reveals to Jamie but it is also apparent that Jamie has his own secrets that he isn't forthcoming with. Jamie's secrets have left me with questions that will definitely ensure that I'll be reading book 2 in search of the answers like; what is his real connection with Sasha? Who the hell was the girl half naked in his bedroom?... I liked Jamie but I also have doubts about him that I need answered.

Olivia is obviously a troubled girl, she has been through so much in her life that she still isn't dealing with and all of the events that take place in the book just pile on top of all her other issues. I was sad that her parents are never really there for her, they don't treat her badly but they are obviously VERY committed to their careers and are never around. Uncle Austin is a pretty cool guy, he's ALWAYS there for Olivia and has been her confidant since she was younger. Olivia and Austin have a very close relationship and I think that if she didn't have him, she would be an even bigger psychological mess than she already is.

The secondary characters end up playing bigger roles at the end of the story but I wont say who they are because the twists and turns that take place left me slightly dumbfounded. I will say that I'm hoping to learn more about Riley in the next book and what the hell all that was about.

This was a well written debut novel that I really enjoyed and while there's no real cliff hanger, there is certainly ALOT more to be told in this story and I can't wait to get my hands on the next book. I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone looking for something different with a twist.

Star rating 4.5

The story of Olivia Stevens is not what I expected at all and to be honest after reading `There is no fairy tale ending' on the front cover I was a bit scared to read it. I like to have a `happy ever after', even if it's 15 books into the future there has to be a HEA. My poor emotions can't take it otherwise.

The author is a new British author and this is her debut book and what a book! I love this book, it floored me emotionally and it's going to take me a while to get over it. Maybe even until I've read book #2.... Oh and the book ends not on a cliff-hanger so to speak but the story is left to continue.

This is one of those books that you don't want to finish because you don't want to know but you have to finish because you have to know. Ya know?

I am one of these people that finds humour in everyday life and loves humour in a book. I was on the commute home from work when I started reading this one and I must have looked like a right weirdo sat there laughing at my phone but that's exactly what I did.

There was quite a bit of humour in the first half of the book which faded out as the suspense hit & OMG did it hit!! What started out as having me giggling to myself ended up with me needing a manicure. I liked the way that Natalie switched this aspect of the book it wasn't abrupt, it felt natural and I didn't even realise it had happened until I sat down to write this review. The book consumed me from start to finish and I lived the life along with Olivia felt everything she felt. Have I said that I love this book?
The characters were well written and the plot was executed well. I'm not sure if I'll ever forgive Natalie for putting me through THAT emotional roller-coaster! I was made to fall in love with characters and then they left me devastated and I don't know what to think anymore (sigh).

The book is set in Britain and as a Brit the education system in the book made perfect sense to me. However, I feel this should have been explained and explored a bit more for those readers overseas.

This book was more than the teacher student book I expected it to be, and Mr Matthews was enough to make this book interesting.

Olivia is a sixth form student she's 18 and has a big crush on Mr Matthews (Jamie). Little does she know that he fancies her too, they have shared many a cocky conversation about football and little winks and smiles. As time goes on they can't leave each other alone. Some hot sexy scenes, but realistic too.

The is an ex hanging about trying to cause trouble, they need to be careful too as she has two more weeks at school before they should be together. Now that's enough for a book really...but there is so many surprises and story twists in this. Both of them are keeping secrets which slowly get revealed, and not all of them are nice and some could find disturbing (child abuse). As the story unravels and twists!! I wasn't sure what I felt about Jamie, I loved him but the story made me doubt him, I hate being disappointed by characters and always want them to be better people than they are!! I think that was what the author planned too!! Olivia wow she goes through so much, she will need some counselling I'm sure!! She is also young and troubled so some of her behaviour is acceptable.

I really like uncle Austin, he was an interesting and fun character. Olivia's parents were very hands off, busy professional people. Other characters worth a mention Riley!! But can't say more about him without giving away anything.

How did I want this to end, did I get ending I wanted?? Now that would be telling you'll have to read yourselves.

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

This author has a pleasing writing style, and can definitely heat up the pages and bring scenes to life. For me maybe this novel tries to include too many plots in its pages, but I enjoyed the underlying story. I did struggle with the teacher / student interaction, and some of the writing about the UK education system was muddled, but it only took up a small part of the story. Some difficult issues were raised, which was brave of the author, and overall were dealt with well.

I am curious as to where a sequel will take us, and look forward to its release. In fact there are a number of characters who could get spin off stories and I would like to learn more; Austin for sure, and probably Violet too!

I was fortunate to win an ARC of this book but I would have happily paid for it. My first thoughts after finishing were 'wow!' I couldn't put it down as the twists and turns kept me gripped throughout. I just know that I will be suffering from a book hangover from this and I can't wait to read more. I highly recommend this 5* read :)

Boy, when Natalie Graham says there is no fairy tale ending, she's serious! I was so busy while reading this book that it took me a week to finish. While I wasn't reading about it I was obsessing like crazy because I HAD to know what happened next! I'm so fortunate that she selected me for an arc!

Olivia Stevens is an 18 year old girl from London with a dark past. She's worked hard to make the best of it and go on with her life. She's been in love with her teacher Jamie Matthews for years. Much to her surprise she finds that her feelings are reciprocated. Despite the things that have happened to her she does her best to open herself up to Jamie and his love. They are loving each other in secret until she finishes her last few weeks of school.

When Olivia starts being threatened and her life takes unexpected turns, she finds that some of the people in her life aren't who they seem at a time when she needs them the most.

I was swooning watching the love develop between Jamie and Olivia. Their playful, flirty encounters made me smile so many times.

"You keep a diary? and have enough admirers to need an enteri mail sack?" He looked at me shocked. "Why do you want to read it?" I smirked at him "and sadly not in regards to the mail sack...I have a special truck for those." I grinned. "Ha ha. I don't know, it depends if there is anything about me in it?" He winked at me and sat down at his desk. What'swith all the winking today?
"You're on every page."

When she realized her love wasn't unrequited and he finally kissed her, she couldn't believe it had really happened.

"Did I just dream that? I touched my fingertips to my lips which were still tingling from the feel of Jamie's pressed against them..."

When Lucas, her ex-boyfriend, begins stalking and threatening her she finds solace and protection in Jamie. Soon she realized the threat is way worse than she ever imagined. The past that she's tried so hard to overcome rears it's ugly head, and she's in more danger than anyone realizes. Olivia doesn't know what is waiting for her or who she can trust. Everything she knows to be true is tested.

Olivia is a wonderful character. She is strong, sweet, and feisty. Jamie is every girl's dream. He's handsome, smart, fit, and so sweet. There were parts where I was just as torn as Olivia. I couldn't have predicted the twist the story took, which totally set it apart for me. I was so into the story I didn't realize I was at the end of the book. I can't wait for the sequel!! I need answers!!! 4 stars!

Olivia Stevens is madly in love with her teacher Jamie Matthews.
The story is set in London and Olivia is a sixth form student. She is eighteen. Jamie is 26. She has had a crush on him for 6 years. She is about to finish her year when she discovers that the attraction is returned. Jamie wants her too.
In the beginning Jamie is great. He is sweet, protective, romantic and honest. Or so we think. There are many twists in this story and at times it drove me crazy trying to keep up with the deceptions.
There are other players in this story including a crazy jealous ex, a super awesome Uncle Austin, Riley who made me so so so mad.
Jamie's parents were almost non existent.
At the end of Broker Ever After, it left me with tons of questions. I will definitely read the second book to get all the answers including Jamie's behavior. I wonder if Riley will complicate matters even more.
As a side note, I know this is Natalie's first novel so congrats!!

We all had that one teacher, if for one day you could break the rules of the etiquetteetiquette oh and the law, you'd throw him/her against a wall or two. Olivia, an 18year old student has just that, a crush on her math teacher. But instead of it being based on just looks their relationship evolves to a join love of sports and a base friendship. Than Natalie girllllll!!! You flip the script and threw me for a loop. At times it was a bit difficult to follow the thrend on who was talking or whom they were speaking about but I didn't care. I was so entangled in Olivia and her past and present. I can only imagine where her futures going. Broken Ever After is a very long prologue to me, it explains so much but I finished wanting more, wanting to know what happens after the last period on the last page. I truly enjoyed this book and am excited on more to come.

Set in England, brush up on your British slang and customs, a delightful story of a young girl trying to overcome a sexually abusive childhood. Please be aware some of the descriptions may disturb readers and make you uncomfortable but it flows with the characters story. Being so open about her past in the later part of the book showed true character development and well done research.
Olivia is an interesting character. She is a mix of sweet and innocent with dash of cynical worldly wisdom deep down. As a survivor, Olivia's courage and desire to be normal, is inspiring. Even having an inappropriate crush on her teacher is sweet and a somewhat normal thing in her world.

Eventually wet back and finished it.

Some hot moments but plot very iffy and confusing! Starts off OK but then it goes off on so many different directions.

too many twists and turns and the last part of the book Meh! Too many unanswered questions which of course has paved the way for the inevitable sequel and no date when that is due to be released.

Loved this book so much! I can't wait for the next one.

There were so many unexpected twists and turns that I can't say anything without spoiling it for everyone else. It's a serious must read though.

A gripping story of a student/teacher relationship that leaves you wanting more.

Broken Ever After is the story of Olivia Stevens. Olivia has been harboring a crush on her math teacher, Jamie Matthews for years. She falls in love with him from a distance her entire time in high school, until one day Jamie makes it obvious that he returns those feelings. And so – with a week left in high school, Olivia and Jamie embark on a secret affair.

But Olivia has a haunting past. A past that left scars that are still affecting her.
Olivia also has an ex-boyfriend that refuses to let go, and is doing everything in his power to make sure that he gets her back.

And Jamie has secrets. Ones that he isn’t willing to share for one reason or another. But he loves Olivia, and fights for her – and for them – to keep them together.

As the past catches up with Olivia and Jamie’s secrets are slowly revealed – their relationship and commits are tested. It’s brought to the breaking point, and you just don’t know if they are going to make it.

Olivia is threatened by the ghosts of her past and is put under the protection of her Uncle Austin and his bodyguards, including the super sexy Riley.

The second half of this book is an action packed, fast paced ride that keeps you guessing. Even though some of your questions are answered, as more things are revealed – the more questions you have.

I will say that I was highly irritated by Olivia’s parents. Given Olivia’s past – I was infuriated that they didn’t spend any time with her or keep a closer eye on her. Her father is a doctor and her mother is a nurse. Both are very career driven individuals who spare little to no time to be with their damaged daughter. I understand that in order for the relationship to develop between Olivia and Jamie she had to have some sort of “freedom”, but given Olivia’s past – I can’t see ever leaving my child so……on her own.

There were a few things that you probably need to be aware of going into this book – it is written by a British author, so there are some things that as an American reader I didn’t understand. For example, it is referred to constantly that Olivia is in “sixth-form” in school – which to Americans is the equivalent of a high-school senior. Most of the things mentioned, you can figure out in context – but it’s just something to be aware of going in.

Overall, this book was a wild ride of emotions that left me spellbound. There is no real cliff hanger, which being the first book in a series, makes me happy. However – that doesn’t mean that all your questions get answered in this book. I still have so many thoughts spinning, so many questions unanswered, and just enough suspense to have me waiting for book 2.

4 Suspenseful Stars!!

This is Natalie Graham's debut novel and I have to say that i was pleasantly surprised by how much i thoroughly enjoyed this book. Natalie does an amazing job with building suspense through out the book. I have read many books where you already know what direction the author is going to take, however this is not the case in Broken Ever After, when you start to believe you know which road the story is going to take Natalie changes the markers and something happens which you never expected. There are some great twists and turns to this story, they will constantly keep you on the edge of your seat wanting to know more.

Broken Ever After is about a young woman called Olivia who has a major crush on her A'Level maths teacher (I'm certain that is something we have all experienced at some point; be it at school, college or university). Initially the story appears to start of slow, even though it quickly becomes apparent that Mr Mathews (Jamie) is very much interested in Olivia. Olivia believes that when she finishes school she will have her "Happily Ever After" but she couldn't have been further from the truth. You would expect a teacher romance be very much an immature crush but this book does not come across like this, you soon learn that Olivia is troubled by a horrible past and is a strong independent woman on a journey to let go of her history that continues to haunt her.

I don't want to give to much away about the story but i can say that Natalie does an amazing job and making you feel the exact same turmoil of an 18 year old going through all these experiences. Through out the book I went through so many emotions, at times i thought Jamie was a complete sleazeball but then went on to feel complete sympathy for him. It takes a lot for an author to be able to evoke so many emotions about the individual characters. For example I felt that there was something not right about Jamie through out the book but at times thinking to myself that Olivia had read things in the wrong context, and then there was Riley, who I have to say i really fell for from the beginning but he also has some deep dark secrets.

I've had this book on my kindle since way before Christmas, and if it wasn't for friend encouraging me to read if may have stayed there for a while. I'm so glad I read it, it has to be one of my favourite books ever !!!!!

What first drew my to this book was it was a teacher/student story line which I always enjoy, but this book was so much more then stolen glances across the classroom.

Olivia is an eighteen year old girl on the verge of leaving 6th form to head off to university, she has been in love with her maths teacher for the last six years. This crush has stopped Olivia forming relationships with boys her own age as no ever lives up to Jamie Matthews. As her exams grow nearer and the end of her school days loom Olivia goes in to full on panic mode and Mr Matthews is there to comfort her. With just three weeks to go will they be able to keep to their teacher/pupil relationship or will they give in to their desires?

As I said before this book starts as a normal teacher/student romance, stolen glances across the classroom, little secret touches and sexy little winks when no one is looking ( I personally loved those)but both Olivia and Jamie have pasts, pasts that could tear them apart.

This is not erotica but some of the sex scenes are damn hot, its hard to believe that this is Natalie's first book as its so well written , it was hard to put down at times especially when Natalie writes a jaw dropping scene

So many times during this book I thought I had it all sorted out, only for all my theories to be thrown out the window, and i'd start again !!!!
Natalie keeps you guessing right to the very end.

I cant express how much I enjoyed this book it has a little bit of everything, romance, sex suspense hot guys and a broken past

It doesn't end in a cliff hanger but it does leave you with lots of unanswered questions, hopefully some of these will be answered with the release of Breaking Her ( ever after#0.5) Riley's story
March 27th .

If Natalie's first book is this good I cant wait for more from this talented author .

First off I want to give both Natalie and Ing (Asthepagesturn) a HUGE thank you for letting me participate in this blog tour and for providing me with an ARC copy for me to review :)

OMG!

Seriously what the hell, talk about emotional rollercoaster to hell and back.

Olivia is an 18 year old high school student, she's crushed hard on her maths teacher Mr Jamie Matthews AKA MR HOTNESS ;) for the last 6 years and is feeling all sorts of emotions now that her high-school years will be ending and she'll never see him again.

The sexual tension that rolls of the pairs, is unbearable and that's to the fricking reader, imagine that in person *ooooo*

Some people may frown upon student/teacher relationships, but this isn't in the slightest in the pervy way, he's a young teacher at the age of 26 and don't forget Olivia is a grown adult at the age of 18, it's different, and this would be my second book I've read with a student/teacher relationship :) I LOVE IT

Olivia has a past, we don't know the ins and outs yet not until 3/4 into the book. She can be a bitch at times to Jamie due to some unforeseen circumstances he gets himself into, but when you read what happened to her you will understand and feel the pain that she went through, and STILL is going through.

Her friends disown her due to a tragic attack, she's alone and scared. She's pushing the one person in her life that swears to hold and protect, can't she see this, this is frustrating.

There's lots of twists and turns, sex, lust, love, deceit, family past, betrayal, everything you NEED in an AWESOME book.

*WARNING* This book doesn't have a happy ending at the end of this, SORRY :( I'm as frustrated as you are too about this

This will be my first read of this AWESOMNESS of an author, and I am soooo looking forward to reading more from Natalie, especially the sequel to this, well I HOPE there is a sequel at least *hint hint*

This book just walked into my heart and took over. I could not put it down and since I have read it, I can not get it out of my head.

I did not think a book could be so quiet in its presentation of the characters that it took me by surprise. I fell in love with the characters and the way the writing just wrapped around me.

The settings are in London and in a school environment that I thought a writer could not get me to become the characters. I really don't do school settings and such due to not really thinking that they could be inviting or worth the read. This author knows how to make the setting of a school environment very interesting enough to get into the characters that would take you, as a reader, over and never let you, as a reader, go.

The book is set in London and since I have never been out of the United States, I could not tell you if the settings were real, but as a reader of many books, this book did not feel fake. It was far from fake. I could take the actions of these characters and put them in any United States school and it still work. That is a star plus in my books. I take settings of books and see if I change the setting, would it work and this book's settings did.

The pacing is slow and that is why my rating is four stars instead of the full five. The pacing moved the book for the storyline and I can not add what would make it faster. I tried wondering what ifs and i came up with nothing to improve the pacing. This author did a great job with the story line.

The book is an excellent read and I could not read any better book for the storyline that this author picked. That is why I gave this book a four star reading.

I did get this book from the author for this tour, but I give fair and truthful reviews no matter if the book is free or not. I think that is the way all reviews should be. ;)

A frustrating 2.5 stars for me.

WARNING CONTAINS SPOILERS!!!

I had high hopes and really enjoyed the sweet romance for the first 25% of this book? by 75-80% I felt like I was reading a completely different book!! A very disfuntional read!!!

there's so much going on, teacher, pupil relationship, rape, attempted rape, child abuse, weird parenting, bizarre friendships, virgin/ slutty heroine who is abused as a child!!??????. WTF!!!! In love for six yrs thinks he cheats then boom, shagging someone else she has only just met who is so obviously a bad guy!!

not sure why I bothered reading to the end. Olivia turned from a sweet girl with a crush to a wrecked slut/ bipolar self harming heroine!!

hero - speechless, stalker/ sweet teacher???? Hope my daughter is never taught by anyone like this!!!

felt a bit like I have read 3 separate books in one!!!

Huge cliff hanger but well not really sure I cared by the end!!

think I read a different book to the other reviewers!!

This is not the kind of book I generally go for, but it was recommended to me by a friend so I gave it a go. I'm so glad I did. I confess it took 2 attempts, first time round I couldn't get in to it, possibly due to a book hangover from DoSaB. A week later I started again, and wow. Just wow.

A perfect combination of erotica and mystery, with a few laugh out loud moments, and a gritty back story that is faintly disturbing and very sad, but done sensitively enough that even the softest reader wouldn't be put off. There are twists and turns that keep you guessing right to the end, and the storyline and characters are sure to stay with you long after you've finished the book.
I'll go back to my sci fi, fantasy and dystopians now, but I'll be keeping an eye on this author and eagerly await the sequel.
