Playing, singing, snacking, resting, painting, reading--it's always a great day at Pre-K! Introduce your preschooler to the fun and adventure of the first days of school with this exuberant peek at a Pre-K day.
I'm quite surprised to see that this was published in 2000...from the photographs I would have assumed somewhere between 1985-1995. One of the teacher is wearing acid-wash jeans with the cuffs rolled up. Weird!
Book made from real pictures and great for large group reading and discussion. Can be encouraging children to children to showcase their day/ scheduling.
This is a great book for younger kids! All of the key terms are highlighted and there are several pictures of the kids doing whatever it is the word is. For example "play" is written at the top of the page, used in a sentence and there are several pictures of kids playing. At the end of the book is a group of all the words and the picture to go along with it to help the kids remember what they were. I think this is a great book to help teach kids words and meanings of what the words mean. The pictures were also real life pictures rather than cartoons or animated which can also help the kids to learn better since they will take it more seriously.
There wasn't anything wrong with this book; I just didn't like it. My daughter, the one who was starting PreK, didn't care for it either. She kept looking over at the other books, probably wishing I had picked one of those instead!
Many children are anxious about starting pre-k. this book is a way for the teacher to introduce exactly what will be taking place throughout the days in pre-k from the time the students enter in the morning, til the time they leave.
