This New Adult Contemporary Romance novel is recommended for readers over the age of 17 due to strong language, graphic violence, and intense sexual situations. (novel-length 320 pages)

Hannah's used to giving all of herself and expecting nothing in return. Her career as nurse is thankless and unforgiving, her family is cold and distant, and her ex boyfriend Sloan is a violent and manipulative sociopath. After their breakup she's desperate to move on with her life, willing to do whatever it takes to distance herself from the bruises, fear, and pain of the abusive relationship.

The only way Hannah knows to cope is to absorb herself in work, she'll be less likely to give in to Sloan's constant advances if she has no time to herself. Things start to look up when she answers a craigslist ad for a private duty assignment to care for the dying mother of a very wealthy and powerful employer, Lukas Roth.

When Hannah shows up for her interview, Lukas realizes that he's made a mistake, he never meant to interview a nurse as young as her—there's no way she could relate to his elderly mother. But as the interview moves along he begins to see something special in Hannah, she's a genuinely beautiful person and she carries herself with a level of confidence and respect that's rare to find.

He can't deny his physical attraction to her and perhaps that worries him the most...It's been a long time since he let someone in. After his wife and children were brutally slaughtered in front of him, he vowed to never love another soul, to never be that vulnerable again. In his line of work, softness equals death.

He's learned that love is weakness and has no place in the heart of a man who's lost everything.

When Hannah takes the job, she and Lukas fall headfirst into a working relationship that quickly becomes less and less—professional. They each carry deep visceral wounds, damaged from the pain of past relationships and horrific tragedies, but neither can deny the intense physical attraction and yearning sexual desire building between them.

Can they each allow their own hearts to heal and let raw passion, desire, and love overcome? Will Hannah be able to accept Lukas for all of his flaws, his dark past and even darker present, or will his mysterious life be too disastrous to unravel?

I'm a romance novelist and author of NA/YA short stories. I started out writing FanFic for fun, and took some creative writing classes in college and the rest is history! When I'm not writing I love reading romance, sci-fi, and epic fantasy novels. I'm a huge Game of Thrones fan (the book and the show) and I love Dexter, Mad Men and Breaking Bad. I love love love dogs and I wish the pup in my pic was mine but I'll settle for being a puppy-aunt for now :)

A COMPELLING READ

Hannah Levy has been a nurse for six years, she works in the ER. Up until recently she had been in a relationship with Sloan. But the ever increasing violence had eventually forced Hannah to wake up and get herself out. But Sloan is determined to get her back. Refusing to take no for an answer.

To keep herself busy so that she doesn't dwell on her past Hannah takes on private nursing jobs. Which is why she is heading to the Roth Mansion. Lukas Roth is looking for a nurse for his mother who is in the final stages of her illness. Gertrude Roth is immediately impressed with Hannah but Lukas feels she's too young. But Gertrude persists that she doesn't want some old dragon dictating to her during her final days.

Despite his reservations Lukas soon sees that Hannah is the perfect choice. He's also not blind to his attraction to Hannah. But having lost his wife and children in such a traumatic manner, Lukas's heart is no longer capable of love and affection. But it's not long before the two of them are drawn closer together. Both have been damaged by their life experiences. Can they mend one another's broken hearts and spirits. Lukas has a very dark past and present. What will happen when Hannah finds out.

This story is well written and executed. When I first started reading I was not sure it was going to be for me, but I'm glad I persevered. Hannah and Lukas together were good, their togetherness does happen quite quickly, but it's just one of those things where the chemistry is so strong time has no meaning. Lukas's "day job" is very unusual I was a bit surprised how easily Hannah took that. Without giving too much away it's that part of Lukas's life that force them both into a massive decision. I'm sure there has to be another book, the author can't be leaving this story where it finished. It's not exactly a cliffhanger, there has to be more.

So this book had so much potential...I mean the original cover was what drew me in. The one with the God-Like body with the tattoo and suit...oh yeah baby... Mmmhmmm..
I liked how it opened up with our heroine Hannah meeting our hero Lukas through employment as a nurse.
First off, lets get it out there that Lukas is a hit man. There was only one scene that had Hannah nursing him up when he came home from a hit. Errrrr.....(that's the sound of brakes folks) Let's stop here a moment. This sounds hot, am I right? Like, yowzers! I mean what a great combo. However, there is only one small scene of this. Tsk, tsk, tsk....not very happy with that. The author really could have played up the "profession" of these two and really used it to bring them together and have more fun (other than through the sick mother).
Okay..vroommmmmm (you've got it right, that's the sound of me hitting the gas)...let's carry on. Hannah has a very abusive ex Sloan, whom I didn't quite understand his whole story. I didn't even understand why Hannah had such a hard time leaving him. Not that it wasn't explained, I just didn't quite care for the story. It was supposed to be exciting, thrilling, I mean you have this hot bad boy ex that wants you and is stalking you, but the hero can't do anything about it because he doesn't know about it and the ex doesn't try anything around the hero. Well, not till toward the end. Anyway, if my explanation of this doesn't make sense to you, it's because it didn't make sense to me either.
I felt like this book took a sharp turn from erotic/romance to a more political type problems book. I mean all of a sudden we're talking about Sloan's family of a bad Senator Father (or Governor, I can't recall) and a bad detective brother, but what does Sloan do?
Then there's Lukas who only accepts hits on people who are bad and deserve it. He used to work for the CIA so he's obviously very good at it.
However when he goes out on these "hits" he doesn't ever try to hide his identity or care if there alone or not. He talks like he does, but then he doesn't. In fact he talks with one hit while he's out smoking a cigarette and talks to a witness at another hit. That witness happens to be at a hit that brings Sloan into play but this time it's to figure out that Lukas was the one that took out his brother. Let's not forget that the witness he talked to was a 16 year old girl who the brother had been raping since the age of 6 and she had nothing but love for her Uncle. Oh and then there's the weapon's room which is about as easy to get into as a Prostitute on Hooker Lane.
Oh and the ending...yeah...umm... wtf?
So anyway, as you can see, the last half is just overwhelmed with all kinds of stuff and takes this book into a different place than it started.
I can't say I'd recommend it. It's a little to "wordsy" for me. Too much, too soon, too much left unanswered or just plain old too much. Anyway, looks like I'm one of the few that just had to push myself to finish this book just to finish it. Which one will you be?

The storyline was pretty good, and I think the book could have been really, really good. But everything took forever. It was like there was way too many words... Just get to the point! Lol
I felt like the characters where narrating in circles. It made it really boring at times. Unfortunately it over powered the rest of the story when the steamy and action parts finally came it wasn't as interesting because you where so bored with everything leading up to it. It kinda sucks because like I said the storyline was pretty good. I would even go as far as to say that it was different. Unfortunately it's not enough for me to recommend it :/

Undoubtedly one of the best books I have read this year! C.R. hit a home run with Hannah and Lukas who engage you with their honesty and their hot attraction to each other. I got a little concern when they both start revealing their pasts and feelings for each other so early on, but actually the pacing of it flowed very well. I can't wait to read the next in the series. Great job and I highly recommend it!

This book turned me on my head towards the end it so didnt go how i expected it to, and i kind of liked that but then after i gave it some thought maybe it was a little far fetched.

I liked Lukas and Hannah as characters, and Lucas’s mother was a great head of the family.

But im still on the fence not sure which way i should go with this book, i liked it, there’s just this little niggle that has me thinking did i really like it all, the ending was just like WTH with the whole fire ect.
At the start of the book Lukas is the handsome rich millionaire then as we read on hes is a ex CIA gun toting hit man for hire, now that kind of threw me. Lukas has his reasons behind being a hit man and i got that, but his mother knowing about his ‘job’ and she was ok with that and then when Lucas told Hannah what he did for a living she was like ok while stitching him up after he was hurt while knocking someone off.

Hannah has this very abusive ex (Sloan) that she has to hide from she has the bruises to show for that relationship for the whole of the book it seems, Jesus how bad was this bruising? Lukas and Hannah are together for over a month?!? we dont get much more of the Hannah Sloan story. This could have been the back bone of the book, i mean your dating a hit man and have a abusive ex im thinking problem solved, but Hannah doesnt tell Lukas until a good way through the book.
Are you confused yet? me too.

Lukas is this very broken man who has lost his wife and children in such a horrific way, he can never love anyone again never be close to someone and put them in danger, then you turn the page he and Hannah are glued together and making plans for the future.

The beginning of this story was so very good with Hannah taking care of Lukas’s sick mother and there attraction for each other slowly building the chemistry was awesome. But then we seem to have taken a swerve into craziville with the last half, it is just overwhelmed with all kinds of stuff and takes this book into such a different place than when it started. I made myself finish it just to see where the hell it was going. If the story continued on as it started this would have been a 4 star read for me, now im thinking maybe a 2.5 or 3 at a push, the blurb is a bit miss leading i think.

IVE NEVER HATED A BOOK THIS MUCH!!

My reasons are VERY personal but the writing SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS ASS!! BIG TIME!! And thats the honest to GOD truth!!

CR Lacerte isnt a writer in any word at.

Book has no dialog and is boring to TEARS. I cried the first time around reading this TRASH. Then I got to the end ((or maybe I should say LACK of one)) and brokedown again. Seriously SAVE YOUR MONEY. There are so many better books out there by writers who WANT to deliver a good story. CR Lacerte doesnt. Didnt even try from the first page.

Just enough to go along get along. I dunno about YOU but Im not gonna WASTE my valuable time on that. NOT GONNA DO IT!!

CR Lacerte is an untalented lazy person who cant rightly be called an author. Everything is redundant and tired. You wind through WHOLE chapters where Hannah and Lukas barely even talk or interact. THATS NOT ROMANCE!!

Story moves at a crawl. Were reminded a million times AGAIN AND AGAIN bout how Hannah is a nurse. Sloanes story isnt explored and doesnt make sense.

Everything is WAY over dramatic. And the amazing part is that its still BORRRRRRING with a capital B.

Did I mention how MUCH I hate this book and this ""AUTHOR??""

Sweet and Sexy Romance, with a Complicated Twist,

First let me say that I like the book, it was well written and entertaining. I related to Hanna and her profession, and Gertrude Roth is a lady to the core. Lukas is a complicated, hot bodied male. It is a Sweet and Sexy romance, with a complicated twist.

But, and this is a big but; it left me conflicted, where I don’t have an issue with Lukas’ past or present profession. I do have an issue with the choice he and Hanna made in the end, other options did exist. Hanna and Lukas complement each other so well, until the each pulled out of their own personalities to make strange choices.

Now I’m curious, and would read another Unravel Me novel by this author.

Not sure why there are so many negative reviews about this book - i found it an enjoyable read and was quite disappointed when it ended. I do hope there is a follow book to their story.

The duel POV is good and i read it as both main characters telling their own story for most if the book and then once they got together telling their story together.

Both main characters i found good by themselves & explosive together.

Its not your typical romance so if thats what you're interested in i would say dont read it.
It has a happy ending in a way but im hoping thats not the end of the story.
