Mia Michelle fell in love with the world of books the very first time she stepped inside of her small hometown library. Growing up, she loved to spend time losing herself in the world of make believe by creating her own imaginative stories. The gift of a leather journal for her eighth birthday inspired her dream of one day becoming a writer. Though she kept most of her writing private over the years, a childhood best friend read the first draft of Rose of Thorne and encouraged her to take the leap of faith to bring her dream to life.
Mia fully admits to having a hopeless infatuation with her Kindle, and suffers from a one-click book addiction. (No intervention required). When she isn’t shuttling her two kids between cheerleading and football practice, or folding a massive pile of laundry, she can be found curled up in her favorite cozy chair with a pen in one hand and an adult beverage in the other.
Mia currently resides in a quaint little southern town in Tennessee with her husband, two children, and fur baby.

Not the most original story line:

Gorgeous girl’s life gets destroyed by a car accident and the driver falls in love with her not revealing that he was in fact the driver.

description

In this story, the guy is actually a weathly CEO. He fled the scene of the accident after calling 911 and has been haunted by the girl in the backseat's beautiful turquoise eyes ever since.

Skylar Rose's life has been hell since the death of her parents. She had to give up her dreams of dancing and has to takes care of her little sister ever since. She is currently finishing college, waiting tables and getting by.

The dialogue from the time to time went into cheesy territory and a lot of the story was predictable. Example: Surprise, surprise guess who’s Sebastian Thorne’s new intern?

Sebastian as a main character was cookie-cutterish. He had typically sought her out but then would push her away. His internal dialogue of “I’m not good enough” and “I’ll never tell her what I did” was expected.

Lucas Drake on the other hand, a CEO who falls for Skylar as well, added something different to the story. I thought he was YUMMY and original. For me, he saved the story from being the same old and because of him I’ll read onto the next book.

As for the povs in the story, Skylar who is evidentially the most beautiful girl in the world, is actually a really nice and relatable character. Sebastian I found it to be “typical” his character for me brought nothing new to the role. There is also pov of Lucas Drake and a few others scattered throughout the story, which I found interesting.

Danger in the form of a crazy cowboy uncle and a psycho bartender added unnecessary drama to the story. One crazy person is doable but two?

description

Overall, this was an okay read which ends with a cliffhanger and release date of next book is this November.

I’m interested to see if Lucas Drake has a shot in this story or if the author will stay predictable and make Sebastian her one and only…

The only reason why i kept on reading was that i promised myself i won't put any book in the DNF shelf earlier this year.
I was so OH so very tempted to just give up but in order to understand why most readers gave it 5 stars!!

Probably the WORST "book" in 2014 i read so far.
Am i exaggerating?

nope

The plot, the whole atmosphere, the feelings you get while reading it, i felt and sensed that about 40 other books or maybe more:
It's not original, it felt like a lonely, over-dreamer 50 something would write this, or maybe just a 14 year old girl.
The unnecessary scenes OMG i could have cut off at least 150 pages of this mess, clearly it was not well edited!
The "author" it seems, was so desperate to have materials for a sequel that she started writing rubbish and things she should not have!

Goodreads, is it possible to give 0 stars? Because i think one star is just pushing it.

The heroine is so stupid, immature, and pushover. The OHHH so unbelievable, angelic beauty she posses was just TOO much! this is not a personal journal!
sometimes the most common mistake that new authors can make is get too attached to their story to the point they write the main characters as they themselves wish to be in real life.

Maybe if this was a short story it could have ended up being good. maybe? << :O ohhh "Oh Haya finally a nice thing !" "Oh well, i'm a nice person"

The switching back and forth between point of views were such a fail here.

Those were just the main things that bothered me. This is MY opinion, if you agree then Holaa , if not then ... :)

Mia, why did you do this to me?

Okay .. this is NOT a traditional Ashley review. I literally finished this book 2 minutes ago, and I'm still fired up. I won this book in a contest on the Feisty Girl Book Blog page. Meli and Joni - Feisty Girl - havealways been a go-to of mine for book recommendations. These girls have never led me wrong. They've been bragging to me for WEEKS about reading this book and as soon as I saw the contest, I entered.

I AM SO HAPPY I WON!!!!

Just because I know how all my girls are - THERE IS A CLIFFY - but it's so worth it!

At the young age of 16, Skylar loses her parents in a tragic car accident that leaves her a shell of a girl. She has to pick up the pieces of her tragic life to care for her younger sister. Struggle after struggle, Skylar finally finds herself on the brink of graduating college and giving her sister a better life.

ENTER Sebastian effin Thorne. Sweet baby Jesus in a manger. This man is ridiculous. SIGN ME UP FOR ONE OF HIM PLEASE! Sebastian is a young and successful CEO of his late father's company where Skylar gets an internship to fulfill graduation requirements.

A split personality Sebastian (sometimes he's really amazingly sexy and cool and other's he's like an uber jerk) runs Skylar into the arms of YET ANOTHER rich CEO, Lucas Drake, here's where the angst gets pretty heavy.

Virginal Skylar can't give herself to her new beau, Lucas, because she's totally smitten with her boss, Sexy Pants Sebastian (yea, that's his new name).

Mishap after mishap, lands Skylar and Sebastian back together. Life progresses and all seems well and good.

Oh you thought it was going to be a HEA? You thought things would be cupcakes and rainbows? NO. NOPE. NOT EVEN CLOSE. WHY? Why you ask? I'll tell you why?

Mia effin Michele is a ruthless, rip the rug right out from under your unicorn and birthday cake fantasy. She gives you a nip twist from hades, pokes you in the eyes Three Stooges style, punches you in the lady parts and dances on your grave. EVIL.

Let me just say, I've been in quite the book funk lately. I haven't been able to read much of anything. I was FORCED to read this book tonight and I read it all in one sitting. The kids didn't eat dinner (or maybe they had cereal), the laundry didn't get done (I need a maid), my house is trashed (see maid statement) and I've smoked a million cigarettes.

Mia, you're responsible for all of the above. When the husband wants to know why "all of the above" I'm throwing you under the bus.

I totally give this book 5 out of 5, dip Sebastian in chocolate and feed him to me Greek style, stars. FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART, I LOVE YOUR FACE MIA!

I was lucky enough to get an ARC of Rose of Thorne and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I was addicted to this story. I give this book 4.5 only because it has a cliffhanger!! (I now that's not fair but.. It is what it is) I stayed up until 8am because I just could not put it down. From the beginning you are sucked in by the tragic accident that left the main female character, Skylar, basically guardian of her younger sister. She is led straight to Sebastian Thorne and realizes life is worth smiling about. She never dreams that he could be a ghost from her past. When the perfect life they have managed to build comes crumbling down around them, she wants nothing more than to be left alone to "mourn" another loss. But Lucas swoops in and tries to recapture the heart of the woman who has such a hold on his. With nothing left to give Sebastian, will she finally have her happily ever after with Lucas? I would highly recommend this book!

Mia Michelle has a way of making the troubled girl with a horrible past story completely different than all the others. This book does have a cliffhanger and leaves you craving book 2 immediately.. Don't worry, it's on its way! Don't let that be the reason you miss out on this book from a Great new Author!!

DNF AT 52%..so I haven't rated it.

Sorry to all you twinkly star givers, but I really struggled with this book.

The storyline mirrors one of my favourite books, which isn't a problem in itself, but the emotional pull just wasn't there for me.

I found the dialogue quite repetitive and juvenile...and the shouty capital expletives eye rolling.

The appearance of Lucas, one of the points in this apparent love triangle, engaged me enough to make it as far as I did.

So this book…………..WHAT CAN I SAY…..this book had me from the first sentence -

“People always have that one day, that one specific moment that they wish they could change or just erase”.

What a sentence to start a book.

I am finding it hard to write this review without spoilers, it’s that good that I just want to talk about it all, so here we go….

So Skylar is having the perfect sweet sixteenth. Mom, dad and little sister all spending time together, that day was perfect but then it turned to hell and life would never be the same. That day was 7 years ago!!!

Sebastian ( O my beautiful sweet broken boy) just has it all, the car, the girls, and the money!!! But does he really have it all??? Is he really that happy??

Then one mistake changes his life forever!!! That mistake was 7 years ago!!!!

Sebastian Throne (what a man, may I add again) he has the life, the women love him and his staff are scared of him. He, literally, rules the world and anyone and everyone knows him as the almighty business man. He lives for his company.

“when the world looks at me, they see Sebastian throne, CEO of Throne Enterprises, a young and wildly wealthy bachelor, who takes the world by storm, and never backs down when he wants something. Never. But, when I look in the mirror, I don’t see that man. No I see a coward, a man who has grown up in a life that he does not deserve.”

Yep, you’ll love him just as much as I do!!!

Skylar is working hour after hour to provide for her sister, after giving up her dreams so that her sister can have hers.

Guilt, remorse and even trying to get forgiveness, takes Sebastian to the same place heartbroken Skylar is… there is just one word for this FATE. They may not speak and one may not know the other is there, but the one who see’s wants the other……Get my drift???

As soon as they meet and talk the connection jumps right at you and you can’t help but scream and shout for them to make it, it may not be right but my god if you have love like this shouldn’t you hold on with both hands? No matter what!!!!!!!

Yeah I know what you’re all thinking………………….HELL YEAH!

But what if that man isn’t the man you thought he was, what if that man is the man who ripped your heart out and never gave it back and then he hung your heart out in front of you again and then stamped on it, could you still love him? What if there is another man trying to sweep you off your feet and you know he is the perfect catch? What would you do??? Can you love another when the man you truly love is right in front of you???

This book had me gripped from the start and I was on the edge of my seat the whole way through and I just didn’t know where it could go, Mia had me laughing, crying, screaming, and she had me up all night reading it. This book became one of my top ten books to read. If a book can give these emotions it can’t be anything other than a 5 star read.

If you said to me, I can only buy one book this year…. THIS WOULD BE THE BOOK I WOULD SAY!!!!

Lots of confusion, lots of missed words and lots of heartache. But my goodness what a love story!!!! A love story that shouldn’t happen but you’ll want it to happen. TEAM SEBASTIAN – what team will you be on??

So I am very honoured to have read book two…. EPIC READ out in 3 weeks!

BOOK ONE IS 5 STARS

BOOK TWO IS 10 STARS!!!!!! My goodness what an amazing lady is Mia.

3.5 stars. Another story about a girl whose life is shattered by a car crash that killed her parents and ruined her life. We know who the driver of the other car was, but she doesn't. The driver saw the teenager in the car and has been obsessed with her ever since. He didn't turn himself in. He and his father covered the deed up.

This is one of those books that I didn't really like but I couldn't put it down. I hate triangles and there is a huge one in this book. I hate cliffhangers and this has at least two more books to finish the story. And, of course, I bought Book #2, Thorneless, and read all the way through that one also. And now I'm waiting for Book #3.

I will tell you that the writing in Book #1 was really choppy, but its better in Book #2. But again, this certainly wasn't my favorite read of all time, but there's something to say about a book that keeps you interested against your will.

Rose of Thorne is a gripping debut book from new author Mia Michelle, that will leave you dying for more.

This book follows Skylar Rose, who as a teenager, tragically looses her parents to a drunk driver. She struggles to live a normal life after that, focusing most of her attention on raising her younger sister. Almost done with college, Skylar is bound and determined to do better for her and her sister- not counting on uber sexy Sebastian Thorne to walk into her life and stir all kinds of feelings up.

I really loved this book. Mia takes you on an emotional journey through the eyes of Skylar, who can't seem to catch a break. I loved the dual POV's and being able to get into the heads of all the characters.

This is the first book in the series and I am absolutely ready and waiting for book two!!

NOPEEE.

The male lead is a bipolar asshole with a lying complex, while the female character is Mary fucking Sue with a life worthy of the Lifetime network, according to herself. And although she is the "most beautiful" girl any male in this damn novel has ever fucking seen, up until Mr. SchizoPolar, she's lead a very mundane, unnnoticed life; always keeping her head down going to work and to school to make sure her and her sister survive without their parents, grandma or relative of any kind. And, was this suppose to be a love triangle? Cause I counted about five guys who wanted in her pants and she just about let them all. I was curious about the story, but these character whom are suppose to be between the ages of 23 and 26, are pissing me off royally with their angsty-teen melodrama. The writing is bad. It just tries too hard to make me believe these are twenty something year olds, but no one my age or older talks so damn stilted. And if the guy's internal monologue wouldn't have used the words, fuck, cock, shit I wouldn't have been able to tell the difference between the two. At this point, I'm only 34% in and I'm calling it quits. Too many books, too little time to be spending it on one that will eventually leave me with a massive headache.

I was lucky enough to get to beta read this and it is one I highly recommend. It's full of emotions and definitely keeps you interested.

Skylar lost her parents due to a drunk driving accident when she was young and left her to raise her sister. She has just graduated and is trying to avoid any relationships so she can get her life together.

Sebastian is a playboy. Brought up to have anything his heart desires and is very spoiled.

So, when Skylar comes to apply at his business, he realizes he's seen her before. But, can't place her. She begins to get under his skin and he sees he wants to change his ways.

But, can a playboy be tamed or will he break her heart?

This book does have a cliff but unlike most books where I get angry about it, all it does is make me want MORE!! I highly recommend this and add it your TBR list!!

***I was given an ARC from READING BLISS in exchange for an honest review.***

Excerpt:
Sebastian’s POV

It was seven years today. Seven long years and I still never know what to say once I stand before their graves. I have struggled to make peace with what I did that night ,and I think that one day the words will come, and I’ll feel different. Like in some fucked-up way, I might be granted their forgiveness from beyond the grave. My dad never knew that I came here every year on this date. Hell, my dad never even thought of this day except to guilt me into doing something that he wanted. In some sick way, my humongous fuckup had sealed the deal for the ultimate blackmail between my father and me. Even in his death, I still hate that son of a bitch.

The hour-long drive seems to drag, and I feel as heavy as the dark clouds that are forming up ahead. I have always gotten here early In the morning to avoid anyone seeing me, and in all the years I’ve come here , I have never seen another living soul. That is, until today. I pull around the gravel drive and notice an old red car parked on the side of the main road. Pulling up and parking behind the car, I grab the flowers from the seat beside me. The cold wind slams into my face when I exit. “Shit, it sure has gotten colder this morning.” I think to myself as I begin buttoning up my long overcoat.

I walk down the familiar path to the old oak tree, and freeze in my steps by what I see. It’s her. After all these years, the beautiful girl that I remember from that night is standing just a few yards from me. She isn’t aware I am here, and I notice her back shaking violently. As I watch, she braces herself on the stone and slides down to her knees. The white flowers in her hand shake violently as she leans her forehead against the ebony rock. And then, I sense it and the pain radiates of my chest. I feel her despair slamming into me over and over again. Images of their mangled bodies rush through my mind, and I think I’m going to be sick. I caused this pain. I did this to her. All these years I convinced myself that she has probably been living a happy life surrounded by family and moved on from that night. Obviously, this day haunts her as much as it still haunts me.

Slowly the pain subsides and I watch as she begins talking to the headstone. I can’t explain it, but I am so fascinated by her that I continue studying her from afar. I can’t see her face at this angle, but I can see her long glossy curls that cascade down her back. And then , as if she senses someone watching, she stands and turns to face my direction.

Panicked, I look down at the grave in front of me while she makes her way past. I observe her gliding across the cemetery like some wandering , lost angelic soul. With her shoulders slumped and her head hung low, she carries herself as though the weight of the world rests upon her. She lifts her face and tucks a strand of curls behind her ear. It is then that I can finally see her perfectly. I considered her beautiful seven years ago, but now, she is absolutely breathtaking.

My Review:

Rose Of Thorne begins with Skylar out with her parents and sister celebrating her 16th birthday. That night will forever change Skylar’s life forever. On the way home from her birthday dinner Skylar her sister and her parents are involved in a hit and run accident, that leaves her parents dead. Skylar and her sister have to move in with their grandmother. While living with her they run into their uncle. Oh my I hated this man. One night he attacks Skylar and attempts to rape her. He does mess her up pretty bad but goes on the run with what was left of the money. Seven years later Skylar is in her last year of college. She is working herself to the point of exhaustion. She believes once she gets thus internship she can get her career started and turn her life around. Then one night while at her job she meets Sebastian.

“I come face to face with the hottest man that I have ever seen. His ebony hair is styled in that messy, sexy way that I’ve always loved on guys. Long, dark eyelashes frame glowing amber eyes. He looks like some sort of perfect Greek god, and I feel my face flushing as he greets me with an incredible smile.

Holy hell he is hot!!!

My knees begin to buckle, and I catch myself against the counter.

What in the hell is going on with my body?”
- Skylar

Oh my jeez I LOVED Sebastian. Even with all his flaws I was just so pulled in by him. He carries around so much guilt from that night. He has turned his life around and his now the CEO of his father’s company. He never allowed himself to find out what happened to the girl from that night.

He allowed himself to believe she was doing great. When he spots her for the first time in seven years at the grave site he feels an instant connection to her. Seeing her brings back the memories from that night.

“And then, I sense it and the pain radiates in my chest. I feel her despair slamming into me over and over again. Images of their mangled bodies rush through my mind, and I think I am going to be sick. I caused this pain. I did this to her. All these years, I have convinced myself that she has probably been living a happy life surrounded by family and had moved on from that night. Obviously, this day haunts her as much as it still haunts me.” --Sebastian

These two have an instant connection to each other. Their chemistry was HOT! I just loved how they just feel in LOVE at first site. Skylar finds herself drawn to this stranger, and Sebastian to her. They continue to grow close, that is until Sebastian breaks off all contact with her. When this happens Skylar feels so dejected.

Then one day BAM! She walks into Thorne Enterprises looking to have a meeting with the CEO so she can get the internship to graduate. He didn’t realize she was the person coming for the interview. Then they are throwing right back into each others lives. Sebastian tries to act cold and distant to Skylar, and that works for a short time.

“You’re Mr. Thorne? But how? I thought your last name was Kohlson.”

“Yes, my name is Sebastian Kohlson Thorne. Kohlson was my mother’s maiden name. I’m used to people always wanting something from me once they know my real name. I didn’t mean to deceive you.”

“Did you know it was me coming today?” I nervously ask him.

“No, sweetheart, this is fate or karma working in our midst here. I had no idea if the candidate was female or male when I accepted the interview today. Although, it seems you have made quite the impression on my board.”

Then Skylar meets Lucas Drake, another rich CEO. He literally almost runs over her. Lucas is instantly attracted to Skylar. She also has an attraction towards Lucas, but its nothing like what she feels foe Sebastian. {Ok I want to know WTH this girl is doing to get two HOT, SEXY CEO’s to fall for her. Cause I want one of my own.}

“From the moment I see her, something inside of me changes. After the hellacious day that I’ve just experienced, it is as if God himself drops an angel out of the sky, right in front of my new silver Aston Martin. When my eyes lock with her haunting blue-green ones, I think my whole universe shifts. Thankfully, I stop in just enough time, but curse my stupidity for failing to pay attention to where I am going. I am so terrified as I watch her slap the hood of my car and tumble to the ground. When I rush out to her, I never expect to be affected the way that I am. The moment my hand caresses her soft silky skin, I know she is different, and I’m not about to let her go.” -- Lucas

They start dating, yet Skylar is still lusting after Sebastian. Now I have to say I am TEAM SEBASTIAN all the way. I freaking LOVED him. Even with everything that he has done, I wanted him and Skylar together. I didn’t care for Lucas. Sure he is a hot millionaire but like I said I am team Sebastian.

I don’t normally read love triangles. I usually go out of my way to avoid them. When I agreed to read and review Rose Of Thorne I didn’t realize that it was one. But I have to admit,I was hooked. From the beginning Mia Michelle pulled me in and kept my attention on the characters. Even though Rose Of Thorns ends on a cliffy, don’t let it detour you from reading it. I gave it 4 1/2 stars. I can’t wait to read book 2 Thornless. I need to know what happens with Sebastian and Skylar. Can their love survive when the truth about what Sebastian has done, when it comes out? Will Skylar be able to forgive him? How about Lucas and Skylar, do they have a future? {They better not Mia Michelle!} So many questions I need answers too.

Rose Among Sebastian Thorne

This is a story about Skylar Rose and Sebastian Thorne. Seven years ago Skylar lost both her parents to a car accident. She is left with the responsibility of raising her younger sister alone. She has had it hard, and also sacrifices and puts her life on hold to make sure her sister has a decent life. Skylar puts her dreams on hold, until she is presented with a chance to work for a prestigious company on an internship. That company is Thorne Enterprises.

The CEO of this company is Sebastian Thorne, rich cocky and delicious looking as sin. When they meet, the attraction between them is electric, and mind blowing to Sebastian. He has also experienced turmoil in his life and has been tormented for a mistake he made years ago.

I had a love/hate relationship with Sebastian. He flip flops with Skylar's emotions and I wanted to slap him in the face on more than one occasion. Skylar and Sebastian try to find each other emotionally amid secrets and lies.

There is one quote from Mia Michelle which stuck with me throughout the whole book. "I don't want Skylar to be my right now, I want her to be my always".

I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

I was given and ARC for an honest review...

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I originally thought this book would be about Skylar and Sebastian trying to overcome their pasts and their unfortunate connection, and it is, but it’s so much more than that.

Skylar Rose is dealt a shit life from the point her parents are taken from her. It has been more than most people could handle. She not only lost her very loving parents at the age of 16 but also had to deal with even more traumatic events before the story begins and after. Honestly, in most stories, the fact that one person had such a terrible past and kept stumbling into these terrible situations would be too much. I was unsure about it in this one as well, but I realized all of these events are the puzzle pieces that help develop Skylar and Sebastian’s relationship. Skylar is strong in so many ways, but weak in others which just makes her more relatable.

Sebastian Thorne has done nothing but torture himself since that terrible night and the first time he saw Skylar. He is definitely two different people, the good-looking arrogant business man that most people know and the unsure, tortured person who hates himself every day for destroying Skylar’s life. Because he has these two different sides his behavior gave me whip-lash and infuriated me at times. He could be so frustrating with the way he seemingly toyed with Skylar’s emotions, although in his two sided mind he seemed to think he was doing the right thing.

The connection between Sebastian and Skylar is easy to feel. Mia definitely does an amazing job showing us their feelings throughout the book. The chemistry between the two is also very HOT! The indecision between the two and waiting to find out if they can make it work is a bit tortuous, but it’s a good kind of torture 

One of the best parts of this book was the people in it that I did not expect to meet. There is more happening in this book than Skylar and Sebastian. There are more characters that are easy to love or perfect to hate that play a key role in this story. I won’t give away anymore as I think the surprise of it was what made me like it so much.

I also enjoyed the multiple POV’s. Because there were more of these than I expected, I also thought this would bother me. But I really think it added a little something extra to this book.

One of the things that I did not like about this book was all the coincidental meetings between Sebastian and Skylar. I know they had to happen for their relationship to progress, as nothing seemed to be working in their favor except the many coincidental meetings, but for me it just happened a little too often this story.

Overall I enjoyed this book. I loved the emotions and the chemistry. I loved the unexpected things. I actually even like the somewhat cliff-hanger of an ending. It did not kill me and make me want to sling my kindle across the room, but it definitely left me wanting more! It’s definitely worth the read, and I believe I will like how the story continues in book 2 even better!

I was given an ARC of this book for the blog tour, and man am I glad I signed up! What drew me to it was the main character’s name. I’m partial cause it’s my daughter’s name. That being said, WOW!!! I’m glad I got to receive this book. It is simply heartfelt, with tragedy and love.
Skylar Rose is happy as can be, it’s her sixteenth birthday. But what starts out as amazing turns into a tragedy when she and her family are in an accident. Her parents are killed instantly, and all that’s left is her and her sister. This will make you cry. The raw emotions from Skylar, the struggles she has to face afterward. Working double shifts, going to school, trying to make ends meet.
Sebastian Thorne has it all, and does what he pleases. Parties, women, alcohol, it’s all a blur to him. Then the night of the accident, he runs to his father and trades his soul to the devil. It’s been 8 years and that night still haunts him. He’s kept tabs on Skylar, checks out her background, etc.
Obviously he doesn’t do a very good job, as she is the new intern at his company. He knows that if what he did comes out, he will lose her forever. There is a lot of tension between these too, and it is HOT! When Sebastian keeps turning cruel to Skylar, she gives up, and turns to another Ceo who almost hits her. What is it with this girl and these men? And where’s my Lucas or Sebastian?
These playboys both seem to fall hard and fast for this girl, and the feelings are mutual from her, but in different ways. Who will she choose, and will Sebastian be able to keep the truth from her?
I won’t give any more details, wouldn’t want to spoil the book. I literally started this book last night, and didn’t put it down until 2AM this morning, hence the late review. But omg it was so worth me being tired right now. This is a real page turner and I just had to find out what happened next! The emotions, heartbreak, and love were so real. There were moments when even I wanted to jump these men’s bones, and slap them the next. I felt bad for both men at points as well.
Simply put, this is a MUST READ! My rating for this book is 4.5 stars simply because I hate cliffhangers, and there several grammar, punctuation and spelling mistakes. None of these hinder the book in any way though, unless you simply HAVE to have the next book right away.

I was not sure what to expect when I signed up for the blog tour of Rose of Thorne - but wow, I am so glad I did! What a wonderful surprise Rose of Thorne turned out to be!

Orphaned on her 16th birthday, Skylar has spent the past 7 years doing everything she can to give her younger sister Sophie, a rising soccer star, everything she could ever need.

In her last year of college, she works herself to exhaustion while praying that she gets the internship that will be the one to start her career rolling.

Sebastian Thorne - now the sexy billionaire CEO of Thorne Industries, was a reckless teenager who caused the accident that killed Skylar's parents. He has never been able to assuage the guilt, or forget the girl he left in the accident.

He has always kept tabs on her from a distance. Unable to keep away, he "accidentally" runs into her at her work one night, but vows to himself that he must keep away. Which he - kind of - does.

All is going well, until the day she walks into his office for a job interview.

The tension between these two is thick - and HOT! Seriously, you would get proximity-tension just by being in the room with these two! But they keep things professional - or do they??

Enter Lucas Drake - who nearly runs over Skylar. Another sexy, rich, CEO. Love at first sight - yeah, pretty much for Lucas.

What I want to know is - what road do I need to be crossing to find a Sebastian or Lucas?? Damn this girl has some luck in the men department!! These two fall hard and fast for her, and she has feelings for both, but who will she choose?

But - what will Skylar do if she ever finds out the truth? Will Sebastian tell her the truth?

For this, you will have to buy the book and read! I read Rose of Thorne in one sitting, just could not put it down! The story grabbed me right from the word go, and kept me captivated till the end.

There were a couple of grammatical and spelling/typo errors but not enough that they annoyed me - which they usually do. Other than that, Rose of Thorne was very well written.

But then, it happened: We got cliffhangered!!

I know it won't be long until Book 2 - Thornless - will be out, but I want it now!!!

Brilliant just brilliant!!!!
This book deserves so many more than 5*’s and i feel very lucky to have been given a ARC copy for review, it was a true joy to read and i devoured it in one sitting.

From the very start you are drawn in to the tragic story of how a stupid mistake changes Sebastian’s and Skyler’s whole life course.

Sebastian is a true swoon worthy male lead and although he has caused a tragedy in the lives of others you can not help but like him as a character, he made a crappy decision as a teenager but you feel his remorse and the pain of keeping that secret from a woman who he really loves.
Even though that secret can destroy everything that he holds in his heart.

Skyler is a great character shes been a guardian to her sister and worked every hour god sends to get through collage and keep a job so when she meets Sebastian she feels like its her time to have a little happiness, and falls hard and fast for him. Skyler finds a reason to smile again and its a joy to read.
Lucas seems like a good guy but all the time i was reading about him i had it in the back of my mind not him Sebastian! will he be the one to swoop in and be the night in shinning armor to rescue Skyler?. I want it to be Sebastian so badly.
The circumstances that have brought Skyler and Sebastian are so very wrong and bad but you just cant help but want them together.

The sexy scenes between Sebastian and Skyler are steamy and hot and have true meaning.

Mia Michelle’s style of writing is amazing you feel every ounze of the pain, angst, hurt, love, lust, it is a true romance. This story has a great feel to it Mia has given the story of a down trodden girl with a tragic past a fresh look. The story such a easy read you are gripped, the ending rips up your insides with its cliffhanger, and has you begging for the next book Thorneless, which is coming soon but not soon enough for me! I want more from Sebastian and Skyler. This is one of those stories that stay with you long after you have finished reading, truly beautiful.

I am not even sure how to start this review! To say I liked Rose of Thorne is a MAJOR understatement! I don’t think any words I put together will do it justice but I will try my best. :/ I will say that as debut novels go I am rather impressed.

Mia Michelle jumps right in with a tragic accident that left my heart sore. What should have been a joyous occasion turned into horror. This scene was imprinted into my brain for the entire book. How would you overcome the death of your parent’s at such a young age? Well, Skylar Rose only just turned 16, she is a selfless young lady. She gives up her dream to be a dancer to care for her little sister as she is all she really has left in the world.

Skylar has been through so much in her young life. She was dealt a bad deck of cards. She works hard (double shifts at a cafe) to provide as much as she can for Sophie her not so little anymore sister.

Sebastian Thorne is HOT, he is rich and a tortured soul. He is plagued by nightmares of the tragic accident, her beautiful eyes haunt him. Now 7 years later he can’t help but want to know what has come of this “beautiful girl’s” life.

Their worlds collide. The instant connection they feel for each other filled me with hope that possibly they would be able to over come the past and all the secrets. As Mia Michelle said “But what do you do when the person who gave you back your life, was the very one that took it from you in the first place?”

I enjoyed the fact that this book was not only written in Skylar’s POV but also in Sebastian’s. It allowed me to feel all the pain, torture, longing and love right along with them. Did I mind the cliffhanger? Honestly, no I didn’t. Why do you ask? Well because this book had me on edge and seriously I needed a little break! I am excited to find out what happens and will be as patient as possible until I get my hands on book 2!

Would I recommend this book? DEFINITELY!

Wow!! What a great read!! This story has a myriad of emotions. Hurt, anger, lust, love and loss.

First, I will tell you, yes it is a cliffhanger. HOWEVER....the author states how she also hates cliffhangers, so she does give us a bit of the next book! That was an awesome surprise!
When Skylar's parents were tragically killed by a drunk driver, she was left to help raise her younger sister. Not to mention attending college and applying for an internship at the largest design firm in Texas.

Sebastian was a reckless teen the night he got behind the wheel after drinking at a friends party. Years later he is now the CEO of Thorne Enterprises and comes face to face with the girl that has haunted his dreams. But Skylar has no idea he was the one that took everything from her and had his father clean up his mess.
Sebastian is transfixed by Skylar and knows she is the one he cannot live without!
I may be describing this and it may seem to move so fast, but it really doesn't. The author does a great job at describing the emotions and feelings Sebastian has for Skylar, and how he has thought of her throughout the years.

But, then we have Lucas, another CEO and admirer of Skylar's. Obviously this adds to the drama. I will say I liked Lucas as well, but Sebastian had me from the very start! The way he treated Skylar was beyond words!! ..(sigh)...

So you know it's only a matter of time before she finds out, but the process and the way the story is told kept me hooked! There are PLENTY of surprises in this book that I refuse to give away. I've already revealed too much! ;)

This story captured my attention from the very beginning. However I do have to be honest and say I wasn't overly fond of the back and forth POVs. Kim didn't mind them, so it may have just been me. ;)
We are ANXIOUSLY awaiting the next book in the series!!
Rose of Thornes gets 4 "Crazie" stars!!!!

The summary practically screamed "READ ME" the moment I came across it by chance via blog tour. Imagine the possibilities that the story will unfold and I was really excited to read it.

Rose has been through hard time, especially so after losing her parents in an accident in which she was also a victim. Blame it on the careless driver who escaped after the accident took place. As the book was told from dual POV, we get to know about Sebastian as well, a.k.a. the guy who rammed his car into Rose's family's. He panicked after the accident and ran away after calling 911 for help, but still, it was too late for Rose's parents.

The two crossed path sometime later and Sebastian sought to know more about Rose. What a surprise when she turned out to be a candidate for internship at his office and many things happened after that. While reading, I worry about Sebastian and what would happen if Rose found out about his dark secret. I had conflicting emotions about Sebastian. On one hand, I want both Sebastian and Rose to be together, but on the other hand, when I thought about Rose, I wanted to smack Sebastian for putting Rose in her current position. She has every right to be angry at him.

The book ends with a major cliffhanger! Good news is that Thorneless is out on Dec 16th! I'll definitely grab the book because I want to know what happens next! Mia Michelle writes a tragic but enjoyable love story that will break your heart (like mine did). I've come to appreciate her characters and will definitely follow the series!

I feel it like this book has the best of everything! I mean I thought I knew what to expect from the synopsis, but I was not at all prepared.

"Three days after the accident, I buried the two most incredible loves of my life. I would have willingly allowed them to bury me right along with them, but instead I had to bury my grief and be strong for my little sister. So, I do the only thing I can do… survive. I am, after all, a Rose by name. Waiting to bloom, and yet, wilting fast in the sun."

Losing her parents at a young age forces Skylar to grow up way before most teens. The trials she must go through to reach the present point in this book are more that a lot of people ever have to face. Raising her younger sister while trying to grow up herself leaves Skylar with tough decisions to make. And when a seeming knight in shining armor comes along who is she to look a gift horse in the mouth. I guess she shouldn't have tempted fate.

Mia Michelle weaves magic and did something I thought was impossible. She made me Team Sebastian. I have read this book a few times and I have cried each time...the emotion is no less, even though I know exactly what is going to happen. I hate that there is a cliffhanger but it's not that bad...and Thorneless will be out before long. Mia is a new author and this book is a solid 4.5 star read for me. If her first book is this amazing I can't wait to get my hands on the next one!!!!!

Warning...there IS a cliffhanger. This is the first of 3 books. That being said, it's not that bad and there is a significant preview of Thorneless at the end. Also, the release for Thorneless shouldn't be too far away.

Wow - what an amazing story. I'll be honest and say I was a bit apprehensive reading this book because I knew it was going to end on the dreaded cliffy, but OMG I am so glad I read this book. I could not put it down and really really really need the next book like yesterday, and I pray it's the last one, not sure I can take having to wait for a book 3.

I fell in love with Sebastian, who tries his best to keep his distance from Skylar, but in the end he just couldn't and went after the woman he loves.

Skylar is a survivor, who falls in love with Sebastian and gets constantly hurt by him when he keeps pushing her away.

When they finally come together you'll need to shower afterwards - lol. The book is really well written and you feel all their emotions and you just don't want it to end, but unfortunately it does and now I have to wait a month for book 2!

I pray for a happy ending for Sebastian because he really does love and care for Skyler, but what a ride.

For someone who is anti-cliffhanger, I loved this book and so can not wait for more Sebastian and Skyler.

Wow what a book! What a array of emotions,it's like being on a roller coaster! I really enjoyed this, I admit I was apprehensive about buying it, but from the first chapter I was sucked in!
The circumstances that have brought Skyler and Sebastian are so wrong and bad due to whatbhappenedninntyenpast (I don't want to spoil it for anyone) but you just cant help but want them together, just when you think its going good, boom, the cliffhanger happens!! And it all goes wrong for them (nooooooooooooo) lol
The author has a nice writing style, imam not sure how I feel about the constant and forward of different pov, but it is an easy read, with characters you will love, the are wrote in to the book with such a good balance, you are able,to connect with them in the situation and understand their emotions at the time.
I give this book 4.5 starts, only because because I hate cliff hangers i didn't give it 5.

I need 6 stars!! HOLY CRAP....I loved this book!! One of the most gripping love torn stories I have ever read. I am defying all the soul mate laws and going with Lucas. Let Sebastain have his happily ever after somewhere else. Skylar is one tough chick and you will fall in love with her bravery and her ability to fight through her hard hand life has dealt her. I am dying for this 2nd book. ADD this to your must read list NOW

I don't normally read these kind of books, I was gripped from the beginning. Do you hate Sebastian or feel pity on him for his guilt from that tragic mistake early in his life? I could feel how torn he is in everyday he saw the most beautiful eyes that he saw on that fateful night. How could "you" live with that inner demon of what "you" did.. Never look back Ms.Michelle! Keep that fire and passion in your books!
