Totally on the edge of my seat the whole time I was reading it, couldn't put it down!" - Book Addict Mumma

"As a sequel, this book works extremely well, as a stand-alone thriller it is also very good but clearly readers would be left a little lost about the back story (in which case read 'Bedrock' first)." —Paul Little, Little Ebook Reviews

"I haven't felt this many emotions in a book in a very long time." - Saints and Sinners Books

"The writing... goodness... I would have never thought this was the author's first foray into Adult Romance. The writing... Again...Wonderful!! — Gretchen Anderson, Battery Operated Book Blog

Addison Greyer has always been known for doing the right thing. Hoping to keep it that way, she fought like hell to avoid falling for the mysterious, highly successful, albeit broken man the world knows as William Hartman.

But there’s just something about that which is forbidden…

Odds against them or not, there’s something undeniable in the way he makes her feel.

As the pressure mounts, Addison soon realizes the price she’ll pay to keep everyone else happy.

Until it becomes pretty clear that some rules were made to be broken.

In the highly anticipated sequel to Bedrock, Addison learns that you can’t help who you fall in love with—and it almost never happens the way you think it should.

Due to heavy subject matter, strong language, and sexual content this book is for mature audiences.

This is the middle book of the trilogy and it felt like a final book. You get to know William and Addison better and see how much they love each other. Also, things get wrapped up with Scott Hammons who kidnapped Addison in book one. Britney King is a good writer and her books are enjoyable. Read the trilogy back-to-back while sitting in a hammock on the beach.

Excerpt:
It is my belief that love is mostly about showing up. It’s about showing up in the good times and especially in the bad. It’s about being there, showing up, and continuing to show up. If you can do these things day in and day out, no matter what life brings you, you’ll find that love is there for the taking. In time you might come to find that while it’s not in the form you may have imagined - or necessarily the way that you thought it would be - it’s there nonetheless. This is the story of one such love and how it came to be everything unimaginable and yet so much more than one could have hoped for.

Addison is falling apart. She’s pretending everything is ok and her heart is broken and is currently being stomped on. She doesn’t seem to be able to figure out how to make things work and no one get hurt. She can’t stop thinking about William. They’ve had no contact and it’s killing her slowly. Finally, she finds a way to send him a letter via carrier. Basically stating that she can’t keep going on like this and she has to figure out things without him. She also decides to go back to work.

After the note William received he realized she was slipping through his hands. So, he shows up at her office. He needs to talk to her, find out what her true feelings are. There are so many things going on with their lives and so many factors that each decision, even one like seeing each other, has monumental consequences. The way their lives seem to entwine but also prevent them from being together is……well it’s unfair.

William feels he’s at fault for everything that’s going on and only wants to protect Addison and keep her safe. The guilt he feels for putting her in this position is seriously affecting him. Addison feels guilty for cheating and putting her family at risk. Will they be able to overcome unsurmountable obstacles to be together? They will have to let go of the past, forgive each other, stop feeling guilty and be brave enough to try.

This Bedrock Series is so amazing. It’s Britney King’s first book and she has hit it out of the park!!! I can’t tell you how much I love this story. Well it was mostly love/hate. Love Addison then hate her then love her again……Love William then Hate him and of course love him again! LOL Cheer for Patrick…..then wish him to choke on some rice in China! LOL (not really!) The writing……goodness……I would have never thought this was and Author’s first foray into into Adult Romance. The writing….OMG! Again…..Wonderful!!

Please note: there is a HUGE part of this story I intentionally left out of this review. Actually, there’s TWO parts but I found it hard to add without it being a major spoiler.

PLEASE READ this series!!!! It’s so amazing!!!! You won’t be sorry I promise! Britney King…..come up with another story…..I’m a serious fan and can’t wait for your next series!!

Breaking Bedrock is the follow up to Bedrock, to fully understand the story I suggest you start with the first one.

We met Addison (Addie) Greyer in the first book a happily married (she thinks she is) mother of three beautiful little boys, married to her college sweetheart Patrick. Her husband decided to move to China for work, Addie decides to stay behind with the children, she then decides herself to re-enter the work force.

She meets the handsome, powerful, rich William Hartman in the elevator where they are stuck together…yes they connect with one another and end of having sex right in the elevator….and so begins the affair.

William Hartman is a very powerful man, he’s used to getting anything he wants. William is also haunted by a very traumatic past, he’s not the type of man to fall in love with anyone….until he meets Addison. He knew she was married he still perused her and fell in love.

Breaking Bedrock picks up where book one left us Addison was kidnapped and tortured by a madman Scott Hammons who was after William. He’s now been arraigned, pleading not guilty and is out on bail, and awaiting his day in court. Leaving Addie fearing for her life, plus her husband is blackmailing her into staying married, a marriage that they both know deep down is broken and can not be fixed, and he’s also threatening to take the children away from her. Her life is in turmoil at the moment she has no place to let love in and continue her affair with William, her focus for the next few months is the trial and protecting her children at all cost. She decides to send William a letter explaining her decision to move forward with her life, to beat Scott Hammons in the trial, keep her children safe and secure, and stay in her marriage.

William doesn’t take Addie’s news to well, she doesn’t know who she’s dealing with he’s not to keen on rejection and he decides he’s finished playing nice and not going to fight fair, he is determined to win Addie back at all cost, because a love like they share only comes around once for a man like him.

I believe I’ve loved you before, Addison, in another time, in another place, and I will love you again. Just wait and see.

Because I need you, Addison. Because I’m a mess without you. But most of all because I love you, and I’m tired of hiding it.

Can two broken souls reconnect their love through a series of love letters?

Will Addie finally decide to put herself first and make herself happy, and stop worrying what others think of her?

I enjoyed reading Breaking Bedrock it was a quick read, there were many characters in the book to get to know, some I didn’t like at times. I loved the Epilogue it tied up all of the lose ends.

We understand each other. It’s like you’re the drug I need, the drug that makes me better. Even more so, you make me want to be better.

Like many other reviewers I absolutely couldn't wait to get my hands on Breaking Bedrock after finishing Bedrock and Britney certainly didn't disappoint. I listened to this book from my kindle on a six hour drive and it not only made the boring drive go much faster, but kept me on the edge of my seat the entire book. These characters are all so believable and real. They make mistakes, I laughed, cried, and wanted to yell more than once. My opinions of Addie, Phillip and William changed multiple times during these books. At times I liked them because you can't help who you fall in love with and the circumstances life gives you, but at the same time a commitment was made and two people completely forgot about it. I was irritated with both Addie and Phillip because of their affairs, but that's life whether we like it or not it sometimes happen when couples grow apart. Let's not forget the psychopath stalking Addie throughout the story who is plotting terrible acts while listening to the voices in his head or drinking himself stupid to drown out the voices. And of course like many of us what would the family be without a meddling mother in law???? This series truly had every aspect of a book you could want. EXCELLENT JOB BRITNEY!

As other reviewers have also stated, I looked very much forward to reading this sequel to 'Bedrock'.

In ‘Breaking Bedrock’ we see a continuation of the story almost from the point where we left off and we know the characters and their world. It is a pleasure to be re-acquainted. Importantly, there is not the attempt to recreate the same innocence of the first book, we now get to see our friends deal with the consequences of their choices in an piece that has its own feeling and power.
Addison continues to try and understand herself and where her life is going, whilst all around her the world does not just stop and wait. It maintains the themes of love, betrayal, intrigue and ‘heavy subject matter’ of the King’s first offering and extends further, delving even deeper into the subject.

As a sequel this ebook works extremely well, as a stand alone thriller it is also very good but clearly readers would be left a little lost about the back story (in which case read 'Bedrock' first).

This book is just wow!!! I haven't felt this many emotions in a book in a very long time. One minute I was happy and others I was angry and other times I was just speechless. The thing I loved about this book is how you get POV from different characters. You get to see things through everyone's eyes and it's truly amazing. I don't want to give away spoilers but this book also kept me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what was going to happy. I don't care what anyone says I love Addie. She is a character that goes after what she wants no matter how the situation my end. William is still my favorite and I love him!!! Please read this book you will not be disappointed at all!!! Can't wait to read more from Britney!!!

Addison stole my heart after all. At first I wasn't really fond of her, but with this second book, I really got to like her. She changes so much, and we also get to find out more about her and her past.
She and Patrick are still basically stuck where they were at the end of Bedrock, and honestly I couldn't tell which way it was going to go. SO much happens, and there are moments where I was like "what is going on"!
Patrick was a little better for me in this book as well, although he is still not my favorite, I'm team William all the way. There were a few times I wasn't sure who Addison would pick, or what she even wanted. It all worked out for the best in my opinion.
I can't wait to read Beyond Bedrock! I want to see what happens with Addison and William!!

Read Bedrock before reading this book.
Ok where do I start?? I loved Bedrock but omg this book was fantastic.
Addison is a fantastic character. William is the rich guy. Now before you start thinking this is a girl meets rich guy etc etc then stop thinking. This is way more than a love story. The storyline running through these two books are brilliant.
To say I was gripped is an understatement. As soon as I read the first book I was messaging the author asking when book two is being released.
I highly recommend these two books.

I'm going to start out by saying I didn't like this one as well as the first book, Bedrock. This one was still good and you feel like you know the characters and feel like you can see them and feel like you are part of the story. Britney continued to do an awesome job with the character development and I was so happy with the way it ended. I'm very excited to read the next installment in this series.

I read this book a second time after Britney had re-edited it and I enjoyed it much more the second time around. It's an excellent continuation of Addison and William's story.

Couldn't put it down read in one sitting.Seriously couldn't you of killed off that horrible mother-in-law. Addison so confusing at times I felt she wasn't as strong in this book. Finding out more of her story you know why though. I was sad about Carl I really liked him. This book more of an emotional rollercoaster than the first. I thought once Addison found out about Patrick's baby it was going to be a big blow out. I don't know many who would handle it that well lol Happy Addison and Willam made it plus the boys were able to go. Now I need the next book. I just can't get enough

well that was a wild and crazy ride. I don't really understand why Addison was so hesitant to be with William; why she fought so hard against it. I think he would have kept her safer if she had just given into their love. I also didn't understand the story teller chapter with Jess and then the statement that Addison should have been a better friend to jess when she needed it most. That clearly baffled me. what am I missing? 3.5 confusing stars.....

Britney King has give us such a great sequel that for some reason, seriously, I was in tears. I loved the ending and how it was happy for (mostly) everyone involved. Her writing is so good and I have lived the character development as well as how naturally the story unfolds. If you liked the first book, you need to read this one. This is a perfect ending to Addie and William's story.

Warning...If you have not read book one Bedrock do not read this review.  It will contain book 1 spoilers.

Ok.  So this is the second book in the series and I have to say that the intensity levels did not drop.  Not in the slightest.  With the book picking right up where book 1 Bedrock left off, Addison is trying to get her life back together after the kidnapping.  The media is calling her a whore and Scott is out on bail.  With her life falling in a downward spiral, she tries to heal.   Her husband is blackmailing her, her mother-in-law is out to get her, Scott is stalking her and the one person she needs, she has to let go of.  With the pressure of all the problems weighing her down she soon realizes that she is going to have to pay the price.   What is that price?  Her happiness?  Her sanity?  Her death?

This book was perfect as sequels go.  Picking right up where the first one left off and continuing the story at a steady and smooth pace, never once lagging.  I am still hooked and this book had me on the edge of my seat, biting my nails and turning those pages.  I haven't felt this much emotion reading a book in such a while.  This book is edgy and dark.  The characters are strong, very developed and feel so real.  Addison sure does make a lot of mistakes, but I think that is what makes her stronger.  William is no saint either.  He is the true alpha of this story in every way.  He doesn't take no for an answer and will do what ever it takes to get what he wants and what he wants is Addison.

This book really does break the barrier.  There is are so many lies and secrets that it twists and turns like a roller coaster of emotion.  But one thing you can count on is love.  Addison and William have such a deep seeded love for one another it hurts at times.  You feel like there is a light at the end of the tunnel and they may get to be together, then something happens and that light fades bringing about destruction.

I just have to say this again, Britney is a thriller novel god!!!!    Her books grab your attention and punch you in the gut.  Her story is not only exciting but scary and sexy.  The story flows flawlessly and leaves you begging for more.  You can't help but become addicted, like it is a drug.  You just can't get enough.

I felt like this book was the end of the story for these two, but no it is not.  There is more in store for our two dark lovers.  And I can't wait to find out what in book 3 Bending Bedrock.  So if you haven't read book 1 do it now!  If so then what are you waiting for book 2 is just as good if not better than book 1.  So pick up your copy today.

Addison is trying to get her life back together after Scott kidnapped her. The media is in a frenzy. Patrick has revealed his secret. She's confused. Pressured and scared.Without the love and support of William her entire would be crumbling before her. Their love letters will warm your heart. You feel the characters emotions.
With Scott out on bail he is even more determined than ever to seek out his revenge on William and Addison.
A romantic thriller that will keep you intrigued and at times gasping as the turn of events that send you on a wild ride.
While this only the second book in the series I suggest reading Bedrock first. Next is the third installment Bedrock Beyond.

Once I start a series, I do have to finish it. I read the "sneak preview" of the third addition, and it already doesn't seem to follow the first two books. Did anyone else feel like Bad Guy Scott appeared to get smarter in this book? I had a hard time with this aspect as Scott wasn't that bright in the first book, drinking or sober. Patrick doing an about face halfway through the book was a bit hard to take. Regardless of those two points, a good romance thriller story with unexpected twists and turns.

Another Amazing Story!

This was a fantastic continuation of the Bedrock trilogy, I loved it! This one had me sad and happy for Addison, hating how things happened but loving the results. The author does a great job of making her characters so real, I feel like Addison and I would be friends! She’s a flawed, yet interesting character and I love her personality; despite many who do not. Impressive story, can’t wait to read the next one! The author’s stories are just un-put-down-able and I can’t wait to read more of them! One of my top three favorite authors!

Simply awful

Suspense= none.
Repetitive= constant.
Engaging= not in the least.
This is a very poor sequel to a promising first book.
After getting to the point that I needed to skip multiple, repetitive pages, I threw in the towel (and threw out this book).

I must admit I was a bit disappointed in the second book. Don't get me wrong the story line is strong. It's just I didn't feel the connection with Addison and William this time. It was like they were teenagers, trying to do anything to hurt each other. With how this book ends , I'm not sure what can happen in the next book. Xx
