I shake my head, watching Lex and Kaylee hop on the ski lift. “You really think I’m going to let her go on that hill when she’s never skied?”
Without taking another step closer, I reach out and grab for the can. I spray it out in front of me and continue spraying into the room. I walk up to Sean and spray his ass. Obviously there’s something rotting up there
The pain that curls and wraps around my heart, squeezing until the ache is so bad I fall to the ground, is for something I never thought I’d have to face.
My eyes sting with regret and sorrow. I choke on my sobs as the realization sinks in.
Tonight I lost my best friend.
Don’t you whine at me.” She grabs the Febreze and sprays every inch of my room. “I think I’ve done a pretty decent job at minding my own business this weekend. What with you coming straight home, not unpacking, and not leaving this bed except to go to the bathroom.” She pauses the spray-a-thon. “You did leave the bed to take care of business, right?
“Ooh, I hope he’s hot.”
“He’s definitely that.”
“And good with his hands.”
“He’s a badass handyman.”
