5 EASY TO LOVE KING SIZED STARS.
Cassie Mae strikes again, her books are like chocolate for my romance loving soul. Cheeky, cute and adorable I can never resist this authors writing charms. Utterly dreamy book thoughts to follow ...
What's it all about?
Lexie Boggs does not have the easiest home life. Her mums alcohol addiction has meant that her life has already been labeled with the unwanted 'white trash' seal of disapproval. There are only a few things that are keeping this high school student happy; her best friend Ryan Parker, the huge crush she has on the high school heart throb, Sean Dixon and the up and coming senior class trip to hit the slopes. Ryan Parker would do anything for his best friend, Lexie so when it comes to making sure she is happy he will go to any lengths to bring that smile on her face, but Ryan is harbouring a love for his long term friend that he's finding hard to hide. When the pair end up sharing a cosy cabin together it takes everything in Ryan to not reveal how devastatingly in love he is with his best friend, but with things looking up for Lexie and her crush on Sean Dixon what will become of a friendship that is begging to be more?
What did I love?
This story had the Lisa official seal of young adult perfection stamped all over it, I can't explain how much this author suits my reading tastes and I would happily say she is one of my favourite authors. Although I loved this story in all it's delightfully appealing drama, quite honestly if you don't like sweeter than sweet, overly cute, first love high school type stories then Cassie Mae's silly, charming novel won't be what you want. Happily for me I love all that toe curling, heart thumping loved up drama and 'King sized beds and happy trails' was just what I needed to make me smile and fall in book love. I read this book in one siting, granted this novel is a short one but I could not put this down from beginning to end, I was in pure escape heaven and there is not a single thing about this story that I didn't find addictive. The characters were dreamy, funny and easy to like. In this book we get the benefit of a dual point of view, which for me gave a more dreamy feel to the reading experience. Lexie and Ryan are über adorable Ryan is a dreamy friend to Lexie there was nothing than this handsome senior wouldn't do for his slightly damaged but gorgeous friend. The dialogue between them was heartfelt, giggle worthy and relatable. Their respective inner dialogues were true to character and consistent throughout and made these characters even more loveable. The book did have a little drama but nothing that took away from the heartfelt message of true love. These characters have a bit of everything to offer, a little sad accompanied with a lot of lighthearted banter and cuter than cute loved up tension. This story holds the predictable factor, but I think if done well it can be a comfort bonus for any book, a tried and tested plot that works well can turn out as a real winner if written well, so it goes without saying that King sized beds and happy trails really worked for me in all it's cutesy, romantic wonder. All in all I couldn't help but fall for this story, I'm hoping that this author continues to write these charming stories because I'll be happily spending my time with anything that Cassie Mae delivers.

Cassie Mae writes books that are easy to fall in love with. Young adult seems to be her speciality genre but they have a way of making me feel a huge case of the warm and fuzzies with her 'suitable for younger readers' style, loved up teens. Anything she writes I would read and I'm looking forward to reading more about Lexie and Ryan in future books of the series. If you can't resist a well written, easy to read, YA story and you want an adorable reading escape then go grab it readers and whilst you are at it check out other books by this author ... Enjoy readers, kisses.

I LOVED this book! It is sweet and lovable. There is no pretending, who wants to be in the friend-zone? Cassie and Tessa brilliantly navigate the situation and pull the reader in to the story.
Many of the books I have read I really hated one of the main characters, but I can say I LOVED all of them. They were all their own person and if something went wrong they had each other's backs. There was no clueless about the world H or super Alpha h. They were both accurately descripted teenagers with troubled pasts.
This is the story of Lexie and Ryan bff's since childhood and comforters of each other. They both love each other, the only problem is how they love each other...are they in love or is it brotherly/sisterly love? Lex has a huge crush on a complete jerk and Ryan is there to get him in her traps. But does she want him or Ryan? They will be tested on their Senior trip to a sky lodge, will they or won't they....
Ryan is the guy we all wanted to be friends with in High School. His is tough, sensitive and protective. He is the ultimate YA book boyfriend. I remember high school and looking for my Ryan. He was absolutely awesome.
Lex was not this soft pushover heroine. I liked her, she was a s strong as she could be given her situation. I loved her! And who doesn't need friends like Nate and Kaylee! They were awesome! This book gets a certified Nerd Alert Book Love A+! Read this book!

Wanna know how I know a book is good? That it’s worth more than 4 stars? I can feel it. Literally. It starts as this shaky almost tingly feeling in my arms and it travels all the way down to my belly. When the characters are sad, I’m sad. When they laugh, I laugh. It’s this connection… And I felt it. I definitely felt it while reading King Sized Beds and Happy Trails.
There are a few things you should know about Lexie Boggs:
1. She is obsessed with nail polish. She has so many bottles of polish that I’m surprised they’re not coming out of her ears. The color usually matches her mood. Well not the color exactly, but the name of the color.
2. She is deathly afraid of spiders.
3. Her parents leave much to be desired. Lexie’s mother is an alcoholic of the worst kind. I think Lexie is more maternal than she is. And Lexie’s Dad? Um, he split town long ago leaving only a mood ring behind.
4. Lexie is in love with Sean Dixon – at least she thinks she is.
5. Lexie’s best friend Ryan is always there to make the dark days a little brighter, even offering her a place to sleep when her mom is out of control. He’s also good at pointing out boogers…
6. Because of recent events, it is imperative that she goes on the senior ski trip.
There are a few things you should know about Ryan Parker:
1. He lives with his grandparents because his mother is a… well, let’s just say she gets around, and his dad is no longer living.
2. He would do anything to make Lexie happy, including doing anything in his power to get her on the ski trip; even if he has to shell out the money himself.
3. He’s become an expert at spider killing – mission impossible style.
4. He’s pretty handy when it comes to fixing cars.
5. He feels the need to flex any time Lexie grabs his arm. <~~~ This happens a lot.
6. He is in love with his best friend.
I’m a moron who’s in love with his best friend and can’t tell her about it. For some reason I thought things were going into “more than” territory. Everything she was saying last night, the way she touched me. Even this morning when she was so nervous and was babbling a storm about her damn nails, I thought it was about me.
Now, knowing what you do, could you imagine these two characters having to spending an entire week in the same cabin with only one king sized bed? Through a twist of fate, that is exactly what happens.
Ryan has to spend time fighting his feelings for Lexie as she finally begins to realize hers.
If you know me at all, you know I love me some Becca Ann (Cassie Mae). I’m new to Tessa Marie (Theresa Paolo), but if this book is any indication of what she is capable of, I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next! For Pete’s sake, I went out to Walmart and bought a stupid amount of nail polish after reading this book. If that doesn’t say I loved it, I don’t know what does! J
I love Lexie. Even though life has beaten her down repeatedly, she keeps getting back up. There are times during the book when people remind her that she’s “trash” – their words not mine – and while words hurt, she’s able to shake off their comments with the help of her friends. Especially Ryan.
“You need to stop.”
“Stop what?”
“Beating yourself up over something you can’t control. Your mom doesn’t define who you are. You do. And if you ask me, you’re pretty kickass.”
Ryan… Ryan should give lessons on how to be a man (and he’s only, what? 17?). He’s fiercely protective, loving and loyal. When things go wrong, or Lexie cries, he’s right there to pick her up and put her back together. He’s not a fixer, just a lover. I think he’d literally do anything for her. *sigh*
He’s never seen me as the daughter of the town drunk or the girl whose father abandoned her. Ryan has only ever seen me. Maybe it’s because all of this time, all these years he’s felt as I do.
And now for the first time in ten years I can admit, I’m in love with my best friend. I love him. Always have, just been too scared to admit it.
This review wouldn’t be complete without talking about Nate and Kaylee.
Oh man. Those two cracked me up. Mostly Nate. Who wouldn’t want a wanna be magician? If puppy dogs could be magicians, that would be Nate. Adorably following his owner around while preforming ridiculous tricks with rabbits and copious amounts of scarves. I adored him.
Kaylee on the other hand, was a kick-butt friend. She’d drop anything for Lexie. On more than one occasion Nate found himself thrown out of his room for a little girl talk. Sistas before mistas! Am I right? She was/is an amazing friend.
When I was around 70% of the way through the book I wrote Cassie Mae to tell her that I LOVED the book and was super upset that I was nearing the end. Do you know what she told me? The story is not over yet! Don’t get it twisted. This book doesn’t end in a cliffhanger. There is just more Lexie and Ryan to come! I’m assuming there will also be more Kaylee and Nate. Hey, a girl can hope, right?!

So, first of all I would like to say that this book was given to me in exchange of an honest review.
I kinda ended the book like 3 hours ago, so it's pretty much fresh and all that in my head. I got my quotes ready and all that stuff, so yeah.. Let's get this party started..
I feel like I always say this, but I'm pretty sure that I'll be game for anything Cassie sends my way. As a reader, Cassie writes my type of book. Hands down. Tessa is just soooo awesome. I'm so gonna look for more of her stuff after reading this. I just laughed so, so much. Imagine the way I looked reading this book at the library. Nuts, let me tell you.
The writting is pretty solid. I don't think that you can tell which one is writing unless you've read a lot of their stuff before (which I did xD).
About the story.. yeah.. well I'm a sucker for bestfriends who fall in love. And Ryan.. yeah. I could say soo much about him, I'm not doing it though, cause it would ruin a lot of stuff for someone who will read the book after reading this. But imagine the best of both worlds: someone you can do everything with without being ashamed of anything, and at the same time someone you just plain out love him (not in a friendly way I mean xD). We girls all have this thing, at least when we begin to date a guy, that we have to be kinda perfect and we are always soo ashamed of some stuf.. Lexie didn't have to worry about that at all. It's really the best of both worlds. And Ryan is just so protective and so cute and so argh... Can someone please send a copy of him to Portugal? That would be fun.

Now about Lexie... She kicks ass, let me tell you. I'm the type of reader that loves the damsel in distress and the knight in a shining armor kind of thing so yeah Ryan and Lexie are perfect for me. But I also love that the female character can turn and not be that much of a damsel and fight aswell. I don't know if I'm making any kind of sense.. But all this is the reason I loved Lexie. She lets Ryan take care of her, okay, but she also does something for herself. And I like it. I still find a lot of books where the female character is just so.. needy.
And now some parts that I absolutly loved :D

But I also love that the female character can turn and not be that much of a damsel and fight aswell. I don't know if I'm making any kind of sense.. But all this is the reason I loved Lexie. She lets Ryan take care of her, okay, but she also does something for herself. And I like it. I still find a lot of books where the female character is just so.. needy.

Just reading this, tells you that the book has a wonderful and funny story.
This book, wrote by two authors it is one of the best of this year. I always thought how such an amazing book can by wrote by two author. Still don't know how they managed this but after reading this... OMG! Just hit me right in the middle of my heart and feelings.
This awesome book it is about a girl, how has a bad life and still struggle to get in the surface.
Lexie is a girl in high school who despise the home problems, dreams to have a boyfriend who will love her more then his whole life. Take care of her like no body ever did. She is that type of girl that goes for the wrong guy, just to prof that she can be loved, who has awesome friends, and more... A sexy, handsome best friend. One thing that i've liked more on Lexie it is her obsession with nail polish... I know very well that feeling. And that thing made me love her more.
Ryan...OMG! That perfect boy that is in love it his best friend...Gorgeous!
I felt so in love with him, with how he always try to make her laugh when she is upset about her alcoholic mother. And how the authors describe him... That perfect guy outside and inside.
All this action, between them, all the goofy fights, the humor and the relaxation that exist it is one of a hell to read. And the way that they finding they love for each other it is an amazing run. I thing that the best thing that could happened to you it to fall for your best friend. Why? Because he is the one who understands you, knows what you want, what makes you happy and sad. And if is hot... way more better. :)
I have to say that in one part of the book i thought it was a bit exaggerated... But still you don't know how you react in that situation. I think that was the minus part of this book. I mean, can be the whole book just happiness between them.
So if you want to read, cry, curse, be frustrated, love, you have to read this book. It has all what you want. And when you started you don't want to finish it. It is that good. It captures in that sweet, funny, smooth action.
Can't wait to read the next one!

So, I decided to go for a twofer. I wasnt done with my Cassie Mae fix so I read another one, and I read it in one sitting.
This was a bit different. I dont think I have ever read a book from the POV of a guy experiencing unrequited love before. Its usually the girls who do that sort of thing, so it was interesting to see the thoughts of a guy who is in love with his best friend, and how he deals with it. He was a great guy and he always had her best in mind and never let his feelings make him bitter or jealous. Except that one time when he nearly screwed everything up.
Lexie and Ryan had obvious chemistry, and, as usual, Ryan was really funny and I enjoyed the humour in this. I enjoyed Lexie too, she was fun, although a little blind to Ryan's awesomeness. But hey, thats how the story goes.
I hate it when there is a big fight in contemporaries. Cassie Mae's other books didnt have one, and that is another reason why I enjoy her books. But this one did, and it was a doozy. When Lexi told Ryan that she hated him and then walked out, I nearly cried. So mean! Although it wasnt too bad since they made up like 3 chapters later. But I always hate it was that happens in contemps. And it is almost always a given.
So another great book from the author, I will be continuing this series.

4.5 stars -- I had the absolute privilege of reading this delightful tale before it's even out!! Woop woop! LOVED it. It had so much charm and humour, which I've come to expect from Cassie Mae/Becca Ann, but it also had some fabulous depth and heart wrenching moments. I haven't yet had a chance to read Tessa Marie's (as Theresa Paolo) debut book, but I must say that her voice matches up perfectly with Becca Ann's. The characters were adorable. I might have been a bit slow to warm up to Lexie, but I think that's b/c I immediately fell in love with Ryan and wanted her to open her eyes immediately, but then that wouldn't have been a very fun book would it? The authors did a great job of showing an absolutely fabulous best friendship between our 2 MC's, and then showing the potential for more to it. It was great to read about teens that still had such apparent youth to them....it makes you remember that while Young Adults are growing and maturing, they are still kind of immature and silly sometimes. It's one of the main things that has always attracted me to Becca Ann books -- how *real* and normal the characters are, even when going through the difficulties of life.
And damn, that teaser from the next book in the series killed!!! I was already lucky enough to read this one early, but I feel my whine coming on wanting to read the next one NOW NOW NOW!!

What a fun read! First I can't believe it was written by two people because it flows so well much like the main characters Lexie and Ryan. It was easy to fall in love with them as well as their friends Kaylee and Nate. I also enjoyed the back story of their parents and the issues Lexi's and Nate are dealing with. Sometimes I get frustrated with teenagers and their hormones but the authors deal with this well with romance that doesn't go under the sheets. The book is relatively clean but does have a bit of swearing (f word used twice) good for ages 13 to adult. Looking forward to books 2 & 3.

Loved this book! It was a little more serious than I was expecting - there was a lot going on with both MC's family situations but it really gave the characters a lot of depth. There were a lot of cute and funny moments as well. Really looking forward to the next book in the series! Highly recommend.

Cute, funny, light hearted read that took me back to my high school years. Oh, to be that age again and all the firsts that teenagers go through.
Lexi has had a HUGE crush on Sean since she can remember and she is determined that since it is her senior year, she will get him. Through the help of her best friend Ryan, Lexi is able to afford to go on the senior trip and hopefully get the man of her dreams while she's there. But who knew a week long trip would change her feelings for her best friend from platonic to more. Her friend Kaylee certainly added to the mix with her antics and was always there for Lexi to help her. I can't wait to read the next book in the series!!!

This is yet another cute, funny story by Cassie Mae. This time it's a combined effort with Theresa Paolo who's stuff I haven't read before. A big thank you to Cassie for giving me a e-arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I loved the smooth, easy flowing changes between points of view. And Ryan's humor was really funny.
Ryan and Lexi have been best friends since they were 7 and Ryan is the only one that knows Lexi’s deep secrets and can calm her down when she gets upset.
Lexi has the hugest crush on Sean but he is currently “dating” her mortal enemy so she decides to go on the Senior Ski Trip to woo him but how is she going to afford the money for the trip.
Ryan would do anything for Lexi. He is also madly in love with her, but she hasn’t got a clue. His thought is to get her on the trip and spend as much time with her as possible so she will realise his feelings towards her.
When their best friends Nate and Kaylee want to spend the week together on the trip, Ryan and Lexi end up sharing a room together with only 1 king size bed (damn those giant vampire spiders invading the room with the 2 beds) they have no choice but to share the bed. There were some funny one liners about this situation. As a result of spending so much time away from her troubles at home, Lexi finds she is really enjoying herself but also is starting to develop feelings for Ryan and is now totally confused over who she wants.
As is normal in these types of books, there is a major misunderstanding that threatens their friendship.
The hardest part to read in this book was the sneak peak of the second book in the series. Once I read that I just wanted more of Lexi and Ryan and can’t wait for that to come out as well.
Some of my favourite quotes are:

So. Many. Feels!! This book evoked so many emotions I don't know how I'm gonna write a proper review.
I have never read anything by Theresa Paolo but I love all of Cassie Mae's books so I knew I was gonna love this book anyway. And boy did I. This book is just all kinds of awesome and of course so flipping cute. But apart from it being hilarious and really fun, it also packed an emotional punch in the sense that I wanted to bawl my eyes out! Friend-zoned stories always get to me because it's so frustration and unfair and you just want to shake the two characters and make them see what's right in front of them. And the dual POV makes it all the more frustrating cause you know that they both feel the same way about each other but they are too stubborn to realise it.
I loved Ryan. Seriously adored him. He is like the perfect guy. I want one. How Lexie lasted so long without jumping his bones I do not know :P Speaking of Lexie I really liked her. She has had a pretty crappy life and I wanted her to realise what she had instead of what she didn't but I still liked her. She was strong and could stand up for herself but she was her own worst enemy. And I loved her obsession with nail polish. I want to raid her collection :P
And I adored Nate and Kaylee. Those two are hilarious. I can't wait for their book!

Lexie broke my heart a few times with how much she's had to go through in her past, but she also is a pretty kick-ass girl. And she made me laugh so many times.
Her and Ryan's relationship was just perfect. Best friends who both realize they are in love with each other.
Gah... my heart is already racing at the adorableness that is them!
And Ryan?! Oh jeez... Ryan. Can he be my best friend? Let's face it, he's amazing. He's pretty perfect. And he's freaking hot. He's also caring, supportive and well... the best freaking friend ever.

And I was in tears laughing so hard at his 'ass turd eyes' comments. I just.... oh man.
With all this being said, it was a co-authored book... but it flowed SO seamlessly together, I seriously thought it was written by one person.

Very rarely can two people write a story together and have it flow together so seamlessly. King Sized Beds and Happy Trails is a fantastic collaboration between Cassie Mae and Theresa Paolo. I have enjoyed books by both authors and knew this one had to be a hit! I love all their heroes, but I think Ryan may be my favorite. The relationship between him and Lexie is so real and you can feel the love he has for her. I love that these characters are real, they have flaws, and their lives are not perfect. Ryan and Lexie both come from broken homes and have found comfort in each other. I will admit that while I do love to catch up with characters in a great epilogue, the mention of this being a 3 book series makes my heart uneasy. It's hard getting a happily ever after and then realizing their story is just getting started. I know I can trust Cassie and Theresa to write each book of Ryan and Lexie's story as fantastic and amazing as the first.

Wonderful read!!!! Loved this story! Definitely something everyone can relate to. I didn't want to put it down. Lexi has been friends with Ryan since she was 7. Her mom is the town drunk and her dad left them which makes people judge her. Ryan has always been there for her. Lexi thinks she loves Sean and wants to go on the senior trip to get him to like her. Ryan finds a way for her to go. How will the trip go? Will things work out as expected or even better? Great characters & ending to this book and can't wait to read the next one!

A sweet romance that brings a righteous death to the stupid "friend zone." I am a firm believer that a lasting marriage can only be had when you marry your best friend. Then every night is like a "sleepover." This is what makes life fun and interesting. And once Lexie finally realizes this, her life takes a turn for the better. There is a smattering of language and sexual tension that would make this book better for readers 16+.

I LOVE Lexie and Ryan. And I love when a couple starts out as friends and ends up being something more. Lexie is a bit clueless when it comes to Ryan at the beginning but I LOVED, LOVED that he was the one with the crush. They are both such fun characters and I've always enjoyed Becca Ann's male POV but I have to say Ryan might be my favorite. He's just so sweet and he cares so much for Lexie.
I laughed and cried with these two and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for them.

absolutely LOVED this book!! I swear this could be the story of me & my hubby... best friends for years and then one day I looked at him and had an AH-HA moment and realized that my always was right there all along. Next month will be 20 years since that moment and I wouldn't change a thing!! I can't wait until the next book to see where their relationship goes next

A cute and fun book! Made me chuckle a few times and I smiled for about half the time. And I fell in love with Ryan just 2 minutes after he made his appearance in the story. Sweet and sexy boy!

A chance ski trip comes up and Lexie, Ryan and their two friends Kaylee and Nate are so excited. To Lexie, it gives her the perfect opportunity to win Sean over and get him to dump his newest arm candy, Sandy. What she wasn't expecting was to start seeing her best friend in a new light.

I loved the story so much and I highly recommend it. It's the first of three books and I'm anxiously awaiting the next one:)

Lexie is the daughter of the town drunk, her father left when she was little. Ryan is the only one who truly understands her, the only one who is always there for her. The thing is he is in love with her, she only sees him as her best friend. When she wants to go on the senior ski trip so she can try to get another guy to notice her Ryan secretly pays for her trip out of his own pocket so she will not spend her entire savings. The two of them end up sharing a room at the ski resort.
Lexie begins to wonder if things with Ryan could ever be more than friends. She is starting to notice him in ways that she never had before.
This is a sweet story. You can truly picture the turmoil that Lexie goes through. Knowing what she grew up with, and knowing that she believes nobody could ever love her. It tears at you. You know that Ryan cares for her and want to point it out to her, want to tell Ryan to just tell her already. I truly enjoyed this book. There were some things that left me wondering but knowing that there will be a second book leaves me waiting for that one. This is definitely a book that will be read again.

Tengo que reconocer que muchas veces añado libros a Goodreads por las hermosas portadas que tienen, King Sized Beds And Happy Trails fue uno de ellos, me enamore de la portada y cuando lei la sinopsis supe que seria una lectura obligada para mi, fue maravillosa.
A pesar de que muchos piensen que el tema de mejores amigos que se enamoran es muy cliche, ami me encanta leer este tipo de libros, tambien me gusto que despues de leer tantos libros en los que lo unico que lees es escena de sexo tras escena de sexo, y cuando empece a leer este libro las escenas eran tan dulces y lindas que fue como un soplo de aire fresco.
De vez en cuando ansio leer una historia que sea dulce y tierno como este, en vez de uno totalmente lujurioso.
Este libro a pesar de que no sea nada nuevo, me encanto porque era justo lo que queria leer en ese momento y ademas tiene ese algo que hace que te enamores de la historia y de los personajes.
Ademas Ryan en si mismo es suficiente razon para leerlo.
