One Night Three Hearts

Rate this book
Thirty-five year old unemployed Rose struggles with weight gain, and now an infertility diagnosis that requires expensive IVF treatments she and her husband can't afford. Her obsession with becoming a mother before her biological clock ticks down allows ovulation kits to completely dictate marital relations with Jason, her loving husband for over a decade.

Desperate to reignite the fire between them, Jason goes to the one person he thinks can help save his marriage -- his long time friend, Matt. Unknown to Rose and Jason, Matt has an exotic motive that will either tear the couple apart through his manipulations or reunite them with a shared determination to expose their buried desires.

The first book of the Three Hearts Menage Trilogy by new author Adele Allaire weaves a sensual polyamorous tale from the intertwined secret fetishes of all three adults, and unravels them to collide in one extremely detailed and unforgettable night of passion.

Fans of erotica that enjoy some rough sex scenes.

Storyline

The storyline is pretty brief and straightforward.

Rose and her husband Jason have been going through the struggles of trying to conceive a child for about five years. The author does not take you through the day to day struggles of this process, but gives you a general concept of the couples frustration.

Jason turns to his longtime friend Matt for help.

Characters

Most of the book is through Rose's perspective. We do get a little glimpse into Matt & Jason's personalities, but it is very brief.

The overall character interaction & dialogue flowed very smoothly.

The book could have been improved by more character development, dialogue, and interaction between characters before we got to the hotel part of the book.

The Series

The author did a great job setting up for book two. Not really any cliffhangers, but there were a few questions left unanswered. Just enough to tease and peak the curiosity of the reader.

Star rating

I couldn't decide on 3 or 4 stars. The sex scenes are definitely a solid 4 stars. The overall story 3 stars though. So, I think 3.5 stars is a fair rating.

I generally enjoyed this. I had a few issues with and then . Despite that, I thought it was well written and an interesting first in the series. Interesting enough for me to want to know what happens next.

Rose and Jason are married and have been so focused on getting pregnant that they've neglected their relationship, especially their sex life, and money troubles are only adding to the stress they're both feeling and trying to hide from the other. Early in their marriage, Jason's best friend Matt was a very big, very secret part of Rose's life. Or so she thought...
Turns out Jason has known about the conversations his wife had with his best friend for years but didn't confront either of them. Instead, he uses the knowledge of their mutual desire as the basis for a very naughty birthday surprise for Rose. He asks Matt to help make his wife's fantasies come to life, and in the process, help them start a family without having to spend a truckload of money, that they don't have, on IVF treatments.
I didn't like the fact that Rose and Matt betrayed Jason with their relationship, though I suppose the fact that it never became physical was better than the alternative, and I thought Jason was amazing for not letting his hurt fester over the years. Jason and Rose's relationship seemed very real to me, very normal; they hid things from each other, trying to protect themselves or the other person, which is something I've seen in relationships my whole life. I'm not saying it's healthy, but it does happen.
The sex was hot, but I'm not into face slapping and I thought that if they really loved Rose they'd have given her a safeword just in case the reality of rough sex wasn't as good as the fantasies she and Matt had shared all those years ago. Overall, I thought there was a good balance of sexy and sweet in this story, and I look forward to reading the next installment in this series.

Characters were nice, even sympathetic, but plot was a little loose; it just need a little adjusting.

I loved the cover, but not the title.

This book tells us about Rose & Jason a 10-years married couple, whom are struggling with an infertility problem. But Rose has loved Matt, Jason's best friend and best man, since a long time. Now, Jason asks Matt for a favour.

I was very impressed by this book. I started off unsure what to expect, but thoroughly intrigued due to the woman in the book being something other than a stick of a woman. I'd much rather read about what I deem a real woman. Thankfully, I was very pleased and happy with this book and how it turned out.

The flow goes great, after the first chapter or two, those first two are kind of choppy but nothing bad. I've seen worse, that's for sure. After that it definitely flows smoothly, in my opinion.

Rose is a character many women can connect with, if not for her infertility issues and the deep desire to be a mother, than for the financial hardship the current economy has put many people in. Not to mention what it can do to a couple who desperately wants a child but without "help" can't have it. The insight into her mind and how her brain works is real. Not only do you get to "hear" her insecurities in regards to her own body (I mean, lets get real, every woman has them!) but you get to "hear" her doubts in regards to their threesome. If you blindly accept anything and never second guess what is going on or how the others in that situation are thinking then you shouldn't be in that situation in the first place. Everyone has second guesses and doubts the decisions they made. Especially in the moment. Realistically, like in this story, you can forget them due to intense emotion or sensation, but it never fully leaves your mind. I loved that this book kept that in there. Especially from Rose's point of view!

Jason sounds like your typical thirty something husband, in love with his wife, but bored with his relationship. Not bored to the point of going out and cheating, but just bored. He wants the spark the emotion, the connection back. And he wants to give his wife what she wants most. In this case, he simply knows he can't physically do it so he's searching out other ways to accomplish it. I applaud the man for that.

Matt... The best friend of Jason, the secret "lover" of Rose, yet Jason knew all along. The undying, never ending chemistry between Matt and Rose. I want more depth here. I want to know more of why Jason went to Matt in the first place. I want to know what Matt hopes to gain out of this situation. I want to know more about Matt period. From what I've seen I think I'd like him, but I want more.

The sex was just plain hot, if a little bit humiliating in places. Not sure I agree with the whole smacking Rose in the face, but it had it's place and it was explained well enough for me not to cringe over it or feel like it was completely inappropriate. Lots of pushing and lots of pleasure with very little real discussion, yet the author manages to make it feel like there was, even though we don't see the conversation happen. Made it great to read.

I think the only thing stopping me from giving this the full on 5 stars is the fact it was a novella or in my eyes one third of a book chopped up into three parts. There is an ending to this "book" so I can't complain there. I just feel like it should have all been released together. But given I'm not an author and not publishing I can only guess that the reason newer authors are releasing books this way is to help generate interest and get their name out there. I'd prefer to read the full novel all at once, however, I'm hooked on this storyline because of it's uniqueness so I will see it through and I can't wait to read the next part.

Note: I beta-read this story and answered a questionnaire in return for an Amazon $5 GC. My review is freely given and not compensated.

Rose and Jason have been married for 10 years. Their marriage has hit a roadblock because they are trying to conceive and are having fertility issues on top of financial issues due to poor economy and job loss. Even though they love each other, their sex life has suffered because it has become all about making a baby.

Jason has a meeting with his best friend Matt and asks for his help in fathering their child. They decide to give Rose a birthday to remember while hopefully conceiving the above-mentioned child.

During their steamy night, Matt forces Rose to admit to Jason that she also loves him and forces Jason to admit that he's all right with that.

I'm not going to choose stars on this because I don't feel like it would be fair to the author. Except for a couple of passages, the writing was good. The story was short, but it flowed well and Rose's character was well-developed. I would have liked to see more background on Jason & Matt, but I can see where there just wasn't time for that in this short story. My problem was my own.

I actually liked this book more that I thought I would considering it started out with the main couple dealing with the issue of infertility. I was definitely interested to see whether the story was going to be a mess of depressing sex on demand, but that is told as backstory for the couple and the story quickly moves onto a night of ménage sexy-time.

This is book #1 of three and sets up the next book nicely. The sex scenes are well done (although not everyone will like them), the storyline, while not entirely fresh, is interesting.

The relationships between the 3 main characters was touched upon, but this novella was too short for any in depth details. I'm interested to see where book #2 (and three) head, there's the obvious of course or the author may throw in a surprise or 2. Personally, I'm hoping for the not quite obvious and a surprise plot twist or 3.. I guess only time will tell. I liked this book enough to look forward to the next installment, and that's saying a lot, since I'm not the biggest fan of series books, which authors seem so fond of lately.

PS. I love that the model on the cover reflects the size (or an approximation) of the main character. Nothing worse than seeing a skinny gal on the cover when the heroine is plus sized.

I just... I'm not sure how I feel about this. I gave this 2 stars for originality & the lack of grammatical errors considering it's an indie. That's it.

The actual story though? Granted it's fiction so it doesn't need to be "realistic" per se but this is so far fetched it's annoying. The husband, Jason, is practically a submissive to his best friend Matt and just follows his lead. It was weird, all of it. I lost a lot of respect for Rose due to her secret transgressions.

The "bdsm" parts are straight up abusive. I read a lot of bdsm stories from authors that are extremely well researched and the scenes in this book are bullshit. Maybe it's because I left an abusive marriage and there were a few triggers that screamed "This is NOT ok!" Nope nope nope. Glad it was a freebie because I'd be PISSED if I had spent money on this.

This review is of "One Night, Three Hearts" by Adele Allaire.

The Story: The book is centered around three people: Rose-no surname-her husband, Jason, also no surname, and his friend Matt, ditto. Rose and Jason are happily married; however, Jason can't give Rose the one thing she wants, a baby. To change that, Jason and Matt-who has had phone and virtual sex with Rose before, which Jason knows about-decide to plan an encounter of lust and debauchery with the intention of Matt impregnating Rose and she and Jason will raise the child. Matt loves Rose as well as Jason, but Matt isn’t the marrying kind. Does Rose get pregnant? You’ll have to wait to find out!

Upside: This is a seriously hot book! The latter half of the book is graphic sex and it is good stuff. What also makes it work is the fact that the three people involved do care about each other. This is not soulless erotica.

Downside: Not much for me, but those who dislike anything other than traditional relationships and don’t like explicit sex are advised to stay away from this.

Sex: Very graphic sex scenes. Keep the ice nearby when reading this.

Violence: The sexual play between the threesome does include some BDSM elements.

Bottom Line: Readers who like their erotica with a heart and soul should like this short novella.

This book is erotic romance but with an interesting subject matter on infertility. I can not imagine how difficult infertility is because I have a beautiful daughter. I can only imagine the lengths I personally would go through for a child of my own. This is not a breeding porn book this book has a real story to it.

Jason and Rose are trying to have a baby to the point their love life is scheduled and not fun any more. Their marriage started out a little rough and Jason's best friend and Rose have a bit of a sexting romance until Rose realizes her husband means more to her and the sexting is not worth their future. Jason is aware of this and years later asks his best friend for help giving his wife a memorable Birthday.

This is part one of a trilogy, and I think it could be read as a stand alone but I got a peek at the second part of this trilogy and it gets better so don't stop with book one.

I received this book from the author in exchange she asked that I fill out a survey for the Author. This is my honest review on the book.

One Night Three Hearts was a rather short novella but I felt like I got to spend a great deal of time with Rose, Jason and Matt. Every second of this book was filled with sexual intrigue and experimentation. For a woman mainly used to vanilla sex she handled the "new experiences" very well. And I loved that as the reader you were put right into the middle of the relationship between these three characters hand had to learn and grow with them throughout the story.

Thought his book is the first book in a series I could be happy with the way it ended. But I also wouldn't be upset if I got more of Rose, Jason and Matt. Hell they were all so hot, how could I say no to a second book? I would and have recommend this book to friends, because not only is it an incredibly hot sexual discovery story it was just an overall awesome story with some very sweet and spicy characters. And I look forward to reading more books by Adele Allaire!

Ive read prolly way beyond my fair share of menage books. This one was short and to the point. Im sure how it would actually working already being married and bringing in someone... but for this one it seemed to work.
Two best friends, one wife... a bit of slap and tickle even it was never actually acted up physically. Jason and Rose has been married for years, for them their sex life as become pretty much non existant... life as intruded bring on various things stress playing a major part of it.
Jason decides to bring in his friend Matt,

A naughtiness revealed,a husband gets to see his wife in a different light, a wife is pushed to let go and a friend gets a touch of his fantasy.
A pretty good little read, nice hot scenes a bit of BDSM element to it.. Id call it interesting and say go enjoy it .. I did.

A married couple, Jason and Rose, struggle with their relationship while trying to get pregnant. This is very common among many couples. However, I don't think most couples try to fix things the way Jason and Rose did. Enter Matt, Jason's best friend from college. I wasn't crazy about Jason and Rose myself. They didn't really communicate when it came to their wants and needs. I get that it isn't always easy to talk about. But seriously? Missionary position is the highlight of your sex life? Matt, on the other hand, I loved. He's known for years about Rose's desire...because she told HIM. He would be my ideal man though, I must say. This story is great for a fantasy. In my reality, not so much but who knows. I'd keep an open mind.

Rose and Jason are a couple facing fertility problems... and they seem unhappy with their sex life.. In comes Matt, Jason's best friend and the one person Jason thinks that can save his marriage...
On the night of Rose's birthday, Jason takes Rose out but the night isn't over..
Jason and Matt give Rose a birthday night she may never forget...

Interesting to a point but there was some minor problems with the time line... There is some unanswered question at the ending that will have some wanting to read more...

Overall, a good book to read and one I was given for an honest review... Thanks

I can honestly say the book is was a solid three star read

One Night Three Hearts has good character development and plot for a short story. The writing is good, and the ménage scenes are very hot. Am not rating because some of the kink content is not for me. Humiliation during sex is part of the scenario, in which one of the males slaps the heroine across the face (more than once) and calls her a whore. I know that humiliation-play is a legitimate kink for some. Perhaps disclosure or a warning note would help this story find the audience who would best appreciate the author's work.

With most short stories / novellas, finding a balance between too much backstory / exposition and too little is difficult, and ones in the romance genre tend to struggle the most. In this instance, while the pacing was better than others I've read, the pace was still a bit too fast for me if the objective was to build a connection with the characters that went beyond their tryst. Allaire did well showing how the characters related to and felt about each other, which, when combined with her dialogue and ability to avoid the cliché phrases that crop up in books like this, made this story easily as enjoyable as 50 Shades.

This is basically a story of a couple that falls in love and gets married, but have trouble conceiving a child. So on her 35th birthday Jason sets it up that his best friend Matt and him have a menage' trois with his wife. Sexy scenes, but ends with a cliffhanger about the contract they signed with Matt before it happened.

This book is 18+ due to explicit sex, language, and adult situations. It's a short story and I'm curious how it concludes. It has a BBW as the female, average Joe hubby and studly best friend.

Interesting menage story

This was a different approach to a menage story. The novella is well written with few editing errors. Given the brevity, I wasn't totally swayed to like the characters, but they did capture my interest. I'm not sure if I'll read the follow up stories. I'm definitely intrigued how it works out and what secrets everyone is hiding; however, the characters distance from the reader and one another and lack of squirm worthy sexy scenes decreases the likelihood that I'll continue.

Definitely more edgier than I thought it would be but for a first book in a trilogy set it was really good! Though I do tend to shy away from books that have that somewhat of a cheating aspect to it, this one wasn't bad enough to make me stop reading, to the contrary I would like to see more :) But all in all it was a great read, it had me laughing, gave me anxiety, gave me "oh shit" moments and got a 10 out 10 on the steamy scenes! Cant wait to read more! :)

This is a short story about three people that have known and cared about each other for years getting together for one night of passion. Rose and Jason’s marriage had been faltering under the pressure of trying to have a baby. Jason enlists his best friend Matt and the two of them fulfill all of Rose’s fantasies. There were some parts of the sex scene I was not too happy with, but not enough to spoil the story. I received this book from the author for review.

Jason and Rose want a baby but have been unable to get pregnant. Jason asks his best friend Matt to get her pregnant. They meet on her birthday and give her a night she'll never forget. She loves her husband but Matt fulfills something that is missing.

This is the first of the series and she gives you a preview of the next one. You don't even realize it's a cliffhanger until you read the start of the next one.

HOT, HOT, HOT!

If you're expecting a drawn out plot and character development in this one, don't read. BUT if you want hot, heavy and steamy that is a little dark this one will do it! Jason the husband is wanting to make his wife, Rose, fantasy come to life with his best friend, Matt. Rose had been secretly, at least she thought so, having phone sex with Matt. Now it becomes real! Can't wait for the next one.

I liked the relationship between the three of them, but some of the writing was confusing. As if I was in the writers head and I would get confused as to what she was trying to tell me was going on.

The emotion of the story was there but the structure of the writing was a little off.

I only gave this 2 stars as it was short and left me hanging. Maybe that is unfair, after all it was a free read. I don't think it grabbed me enough to get me to pay for the next few books in the series. I'm not feeling sorry for the h or the H and I didn't come away wanting to know more. The other man came away seeming like an ass.

Can you say Hot hot hot!! One could only wish for a husband like Jason. While their sex life is basically non and void due to them trying to conceive, Jason ask his best friend to help with the issue. Rose is one lucky girl to have both men love her the way they do. This horrific piece of garbage doesn't rate 1 star. Thankfully it was free and it took less than one hour to skim through it. Don't waste your time unless you just want to look at a few poorly written pages or an attempt at porn.
