Fashionably Deceptive is an amazing book. I was surprised by how good it was. After only reading the first page, I was hooked and couldn't stop reading. The storyline was very intriguing, and drama filled from start to finish. I felt sorry for Kayla throughout this whole book. Bad things just kept happening to her, but she's a very strong girl and handled everything very well. Dareon and his mom had me so mad throughout this whole book. His mom was way too involved in his personal life, but everything made sense in the end. I was very pleased with how the book ended, and I look forward to reading the next book and hopefully many more after that. Tonia, great job with Fashionably Deceptive. I'm definitely your newest fan!

Drama, Dirt, Deception & More

Every now and then you will come across a novel that just grabs you and holds you until the last page. Even after finishing, you still find yourself wanting more! “Fashionably Deceptive” by Tonia did it for me. With 3 college friends as tight as thieves, a rising star football player who fits the image of that guy who gets it in with whomever even though he's supposed to be in a committed relationship, a conniving mother, and add on a drug dealer who falls in love with said football player’s girl, you have a book that will have you on the edge of your seat.

I really, really enjoyed this novel. It is really a work of art and I would've given more stars if I could. That's just how much I enjoyed it! I laughed, wanted to cry at times and screamed at the characters along the way. Readers will really be all up in their feelings with this book. All I can say is, Tonia, hurry up with the sequel. I loved the characters, the storyline, all of the drama and to me it was just a great read! I read it in a couple of hours and I'm sure for anyone who likes that story where the drama can always be found around an athlete, you don't want to sleep on this one!

Great job, Tonia! 5 Stars all the way!

This story is an engaging tale about a young woman who gets caught up in a disastrous love triangle. From the first sentence, the writer hooks the reader into the life of a seemingly good girl Kayla.

The plot and subplot were well thought out. I especially enjoyed the subplot, which reveals some background information about certain characters and allows us to see why those characters act in a certain way.

The character development is solid, and at certain points I had to reassure myself that I was just reading book. This is a testament to the realistic imagery.

All in all, "Fashionably Deceptive by Tonia" is a very good read, which I would recommend anyone who likes a realistic yet eventful romantic story laced with life lessons ...

I really enjoyed this book. There was about 2 times that it got kind of slow for me but nothing that made me want to give up on the book. It was a very well written book. The only thing I got tired of was reading designer names every time a character got dressed, but then again, the title does have "Fashionably" in it. There was one part that I had pretty much predicted and was pleasantly surprised and shocked to find out I was wrong. Boy, was I wrong! All in all, this was a good read.

plenty of deception as the title suggest. Once I started reading this book, I didn't want to stop...I wanted to know how the drama played out. The twists and turns in the story kept it exciting too.
I could see this book played out as a series that you can't wait to watch each week. Loved it!!

Fashionably Deceptive is a story about a college girl, Kayla, who appears to have everything a girl could desire. She is a semester away from graduating at the top of her class, has two successful, loving parents, has two best friends that are like sisters, and she dresses to kill. Kayla has been with her boyfriend, Dareon Anderson, a rich, star athlete who is destined to go pro for 3 years. However, with a boyfriend who doesn’t know how to be faithful, Kayla wonders how much she is willing to accept. Dareon finally pushes her to the end of her rope by committing an unforgivable act. He pushes Kayla into the arms of another man which causes a series of unfortunate events. What will Kayla do?

This book had me from start to finish. I was hooked from the very beginning. The storyline was very intriguing and drama filled. The plot & subplot was very well thought out. The twists that were added kept the story exciting. Tonia has done an excellent job with character development and drawing me into the storyline. She is very skilled in her writing and I found myself being able to identify with Kayla and how she felt in certain situations. Bravo Toni for a job well done!

I would definitely recommend others to read this book and I look forward to reading part 2, A Fashionable Revelation.

This was definitely a good read. I read the whole thing during a road trip taking my daughter back to college.

Let's start with Miss Kayla. She is the gf of a LSU football phenom who religiously cheats on her. He knows she issues empty threats about breaking up so he does whatever and whomever he pleases.

Dorean is the boyfriend. He's the only child of Nicole. He's irresistible and he knows it.

Nicole is a very rich, powerful, unattractive, poised, widower. She is extremely manipulative.

Terry is the nephew of Nicole. He's fine as can be and all about his paper.

Priscilla is Nicole's baby sister and mother of Terry. It is she who holds the key to the family closet beariing secrets and transgressions.

Jordan and Pharris are Kayla's best friends and roommate. They have each other's backs no matter what.

Chris and Shon are part of Terry's crew. Only one of them is loyal.

This is a very fast paced novel filled with drama and absolutely no slow spots. Kayla was a little too emotional for me but I digress. Lots of twists you don't know are lurking. I appreciate the unpredictability of various scenarios.

Highly recommend.

Fashionably Deceptive is the story of Kayla, a senior one semester from graduating Lousiana State University. Kayla is the true testament to the saying you can't judge a book by its cover. She is very well put together on the outside; however, her decision making skils in her love life is questionable. She is in a relationship wiith the star football player at LSU and it is on a downward spiral. Just when Kayla thinks she has it all figured out, life throws her a couple of curveballs that she was not prepared for. Fashionably Deceptive takes the readers on twists and turns. This was a quick read for me. The story didn't pick up untl the latter half of the book, though. When it dd, I could not put it down! So many secrets came puring out. Tonia did a wonderful job developing the characters. The book covers only the Fall semester of 2007, but it feels like you've known the characters for awhile. It seems like there will be a part 2, so I woud be interested to find out what happens to the characters.

Fashionably Deceptive.....

Fashionably Deceptive is about a college student Kayla who comes from a well off, two parent home and her three year relationship with Dereon, a wealthy football star at her University. Dereon has cheated on Kayla more times than she can count and she finds herself in a dilemma of putting up with his continuous cheating or moving on, but who she may move on to creates an even bigger dilemma.

For this to be the author's first release, she did an excellent job. The content of this story is relatable in some way as we all have either been in relationships with someone that we loved deeply but knew they were no good for us, or have known someone who has. The infidelity , disloyalty, family secrets, and racy sex scenes are sure to capture the reader from the beginning of this page turner right down till the very end.

I was able to finish this read in a day and will be moving straight on to part II.

OMG...I Loved It!!!

This book was crazy good!!! I can't believe Ms. Nicole's dirty little secret at the end. It left me speechless at the end, which one of Kayla's friends is sleeping with Dareon now? I guess I will have to find out in the book. Off to read part two!! I am officially a fan of Tonia's work!!

Kayla is a senior at LSU and at the top of her class. She also has two of the very best friends any young woman could ask for. Pharris and Jordan were the type of friends who didn't ask questions, they just supported their friend. Then there was Dareon. Handsome, wealthy, and about to turn pro. He was all Kayla's, at least she hoped he was. She had that feeling though, he was cheating. Now to find evidence.

Captivating, erotic and dangerous, this book will keep you riveted to your seat. Just when you think you've figured everything out, a new element is added. Loved the layering Tonia did in this book. I also enjoyed the brutal honesty between the friends. Really was a testament to how much they valued their friendship. This is your next new read.

The only issue I found was the prologue. It was really an unnecessary part of this book and a shame someone didn't see that before print.

I gave this one 4 out of 5 cheers simply because of the prologue. You'll love the story though. ~Copy of book provided by author in exchange for a fair review~

Fashionably Deceptive

In this story, I thought Tonia did a great job in correlating the content with the title. The storyline was interesting as it focused around Kayla who was a rich college student who loved fashion. Kayla seemed to have much love for her boyfriend Dareon, despite his cheating ways. It was after one of Dareon's cheating tirades that Kayla met his cousin Terry & an instant attraction occured. As Kayla is somewhat torn between the two, she eventually makes her choice causing drama to erupt. I also felt a deceptive culprit in this story was Dareon's mother, Nicole--who was just wicked & wealthy. She was the type of character that was easy to dislike due to her conniving ways. Fashionably Deceptive was a well written story that I was able to complete in a few hours & I look forward to reading more of Tonia's books.

(I was gifted this book by the author in exchange for my honest review)

Wow. Just by the title, I did not expect for this book to have so many qualities of a 5 star page turner, but it did.

Kayla, a Fashionista that loves to stay fly, is so tired of her cheating boyfriend Darieon that keeps breaking her heart. Darieon is a spoiled but rich college football star that can have any girl he wants.... and he wants them all.

Kayla's life changes when she meets Terry, a street thug that has her open from the moment their eyes meet. Sparks fly from the jump. The main problem is, Terry is Darieon's cousin.

Lots of drama, lies and betrayal from the ones you least expect. The steamy sex scenes will keep you reading if nothing else.
Can't wait for part 2

This is one time where the villain's outward appearance matched the inward. That Nicole was thee devil! The lengths she went through seemingly for her son's happiness made you wonder...and of course her true motivation and skeletons are revealed. I felt for Kayla and the messiness of her love life. Glad she had some ride or die friends that stuck by her even when she didn't make the best decisions. Money can't buy you happiness, but maybe it could be used to buy some counseling cause there were definitely some major issues that needed to be addressed. I see there's another installment so I definitely will be reading more into the dysfunction and messiness these friends and family have created and continue to let fester and grow.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
Kayla has been with her football player boyfriend for 3 years & has caught him cheating several times and promises to leave him each time. He even ended up getting another woman pregnant. At a family reunion she sees a man that instantly caught her eye. Terry happens to be her boyfriends cousin. This book takes you through the problems of a turbulent relationship & the beginning of a taboo love affair. Kayla wants to follow her heart but goes through a lot to get what she wants. I highly recommend this book & I'm anxiously looking forward to the next book.

Nice

This book was a page turner that I couldn't put down. Dareon was a true mamas boy and Nicole enabled him to do wrong. Nicole was such an evil person and Samantha and her sister know all her secrets, however she tries to control people with her money. I enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading more from this author. This book left room for many more stories.
