Lesson #8

A Lesson in Pride

Rate this book
Book #8 of the Lesson Series

As terrifying as it is to enter someone else's life in the middle of it, Ginny never imagined it would be her character's wedding night. Alone in a room with candles and champagne, Ginny realizes that's exactly what's happened.

Grant Montgomery was the spare and never tried to be anything more. When his father decides to finally cut him off, he is forced to find a wealthy wife. He was never bothered by the notion before one night with Alysanne.

I started writing fiction at the age of 12 for my friends. Of course, in those days, I was the heroine, saving dashing rock stars from their ruin. Now, somewhat older, hopefully wiser, I decided to finally put down my ideas on paper and write about a heroine not unlike myself (personality wise, certainly not realistically).

After finding my own soulmate (which is just another word for the only man willing to live with me), and having two beautiful children, I'm changing my stay-at-home mom status to part-time author. Which isn't to say that my days are not still filled with laundry and dishes, but I've also added writing.

I have many plans for my heroine, Ginny. She will meet matchmakers, pirates, cowboys and maybe a vampire or two. If I've read it in a romance novel, you can bet, Ginny will live it in an upcoming novel.

Thank you for all the support from my family and friends. Without my overly encouraging husband, none of these books would have been written. And I really appreciate my fellow neighborhood mommies. They make the best editors in the world.

This book was much more about Ginny helping others find romance than herself. It didn't have the passion she felt with some of the men in earlier books, though that's not to say it was entirely absent. I just couldn't connect to the hero as much and found the other side characters more interesting.

I've really enjoyed Ginny's jumps through time as she lives out each heroine's story, but I'm hoping she finally gets her own hunk sometime soon. She's matured a lot over the course of the series and I think she's about ready to move on with her real life.

Overall, this was a good read but not my favorite from this author.

This is book 8 in the series and it is a delight to catch up with Ginny and see how she fares with the various twists and turns of her life as the heroine in a romance novel. She knows there will be a happy ending but I enjoy reading about her expectations on how it all will turn out.
I would suggest you read the books in order, so you will get the references that are dotted through this book to the previous stories.

This is not my favourite book in the series but I found it to an enjoyable read and will continue to follow Ginny's journey and look forward to the next book.

I love this series and the whole idea. Ginny hopping through different style romances and always saying the things that I say when I read romance novels is amusing to me. I liked how Ginny thought she knew how it was suposed to play out and kept getting annoyed that things didn't work out that way. It is like so many reviews of romance novels half the people complain it is too perdictable the other half complain when it isn't. Nice happy ending for Aly I want Ginny to have her happy ending too but I'm not sure I want the story hopping to end just yet.

Book 8 or 9. This book was not one of my favorites. Grant didn't start out as the great hero I was looking for and didn't start to become that hero until late in the book. As for Ginny, her struggle, with the novels heroine's personality was different then the other books, but wasn't something I enjoyed about the book. Overall, I'm glad I read it and am ready to see how the series ends, but I won't be going back to this book to reread.

This book was so refreshing, it didn't fallow the same plot as the others, it was good to see Ginny be what I would think was herself. I would love to see what would happen if she ran into one of her other characters or go back to the west or Scotland. But I can't wait till she is home an finds her own hero.

Another book where I can't tell what the lesson in pride is. Things in this novel work out by random events, not because the characters have any epiphanies or personal growth; someone dies and so the marriage can happen. dumb. the plot actually seems to support the assertion that if you are proud/arrogant/elitist/condescending, you can get what you want.

I started reading this series back when the first book was published. I instantly fell in love with it because of the history and romance within each novel. Very easy read. I'm hoping the author winds it to a close soon because the books are becoming predictable. But still a great series.

I have been in love with this series since the beginning. I liked this book but not as much as I id all the others. I will continue to read this series until Ginny get home. I can't wait to see what book she moves to next, maybe something with magic or sci-fi!!!

I hated for this book to end because it is the eighth and last of the series. I was disappointed: however, as the story of Ginny did not end. Hopefully that means that Connors is not finished with the books and that a ninth will be published.

I've read all the books now in this series & love them all but wonder when Ginny will go back to her own time as think there's only so much you can do with her character now & maybe its time for her to do so , much as I hate to say it as I love her adventures :)

I fell in love with this series. Part of me wants Ginny to keep going, but I also find myself wanting her to find her happiness finally. Can't wait for book 9.

Inventive and funny romance series, but the author gets bolder (i.e. risque) with each progressive one in the series.
