Two teenage boys set out as part of Sullivan's campaign to destroy the Iroquois towns in 1779 western New York, and end up captured by the Indians.

This story is based upon the diaries and orderly books of Sullivan's Expedition against the Six Nations of Indians in 1779. Matt Finch, Tom Currie, and Mary Polhamus are fictional characters. All the other people in the story actually lived and performed the roles assigned to them.
