Never Doubt Me

Rate this book
Can a tattooed, former bad boy leave his past behind? Can he find lasting happiness with the love of his life?

Gorgeous and sexy Chase Gartner hopes to do just that with Kay Stanton. But when Chase’s troubled-teen brother, Will, stays on in Harmony Creek, Ohio—-after an unexpected arrival-—Chase and Kay’s bonds of love and commitment are soon tested.

Chase finds himself caught up in secrets—-and revisiting a past he thought he’d left behind—-when Will makes a number of irresponsible decisions. Despite Chase’s attempts to keep his brother out of trouble, Will’s reckless behavior continues, affecting not only Chase and Kay, but other residents in town...one disastrously so.

But it’s the final, potentially deadly decision Will makes when his girlfriend runs into trouble back in Las Vegas that leads Chase to make a fateful decision of his own. A choice that threatens his relationship with Kay.

Never Doubt Me is a touching, poignant story of love, redemption, and coming to grips with the fact that escaping the past is never easy.

Loved it!!

Once again, Susie has wowed me…. Her continuing story of Kay and Chase and the hurtles they go through together as their relationship keeps growing is a story I don’t see myself getting tired of anytime soon. This book picks up immediately where the 1st book left off.. with Chase’s brother Will and Will’s girlfriend Cassie showing up at Chase’s house. In this second installment of the Judge Me Not series , Chase and Kay are just as strong as they were in book 1.. but everything isn’t roses around them. They’ve got some storms to weather this time around. Although there is zero angst for the couple ( refreshing!), there are still some things going on. Chase continues to redeem himself and try to be a better person for Kay.

In book one, we saw where Chase had spent some time in prison for drugs. He had been an young, angry, misguided man when he was arrested but prison changed him but he still felt a little lost in the world. Until Kay… Kay brought out the very best in Chase .. while Chase helped Kay face her demons too. They started out as friends and from there an amazing love grew. Chase is going to need Kay’s strength and love even more this time around now that his 15 year old brother Will and his girlfriend have showed up on Chase’s doorstep after running away from home.

Will still loves his big brother and that’s easy to see… but he resents the hell out of him for leaving him alone in Vegas with his airheaded mom… Chases going to prison affected Will so much.. they had been very close. Chase was Will’s hero. When Chase got out of the pen, he moved to Ohio to live with his grandma , at his mom’s request. Dummy mom didn’t want him to badly influence Will so she wanted him gone. Chase will do anything for Will , he wants to show him how much he loves him..be the big brother he was supposed to be. With Kay at his side, he can do anything. But Will and his gf Cassie have ran away from some bad stuff going on back home with Cassie’s pervy stepdad. Will’s trying to keep Cassie safe for Will is just a kid himself….. Chase is still trying to be the man that Kay needs, but he’s got to be the big brother Will needs also.

Keeping Will out of trouble and falling into his brothers footsteps, along with trying to help him out with his problems is going to test Chase… He’s got beautiful Kay that he wants to build a life with, but his past keeps dragging him back when he’s forced to do things to protect Will. But Kay is strong and she’ll stand by Chase through whatever he needs to do…. If Chase will let her.

Aside from the drama going on with Chase and his brother, we still get a lot of couple time with Chase and Kay….. these two are seriously smoking hot together. Their chemisty is off the charts and you can feel the spark between them on the pages. Susie knows how to write some seriously hot sexy times! Chase is pretty much PERFECT.

I just love Chase and Kay… even after 2 full length books I still love them just as much now as I did in the first book, maybe even more. Chase is strong, possessive, and so sexy. He’s honorable and wants to give Kay everything he possibly can. He wants to be a better man. And Kay.. Kay is strong , understanding and never ever judges Chase for his past mistakes and she doesn’t judge him for anything he feels he has to do now to keep his brother safe. She’ll stand by his side and fight him at times to do it.

Their story’s not over yet though… .seems like Will is about to get himself in a whole lot of trouble that Chase may not be able to get him out of and he may pushed further back into the ways of his past…. I’ll admit to a slight heart papilation at the end of the last chapter thinking I was going to be cursing Susie for a few days leaving it like that ( J ) however.. no fear is necessary since she added an epologue that was pretty much a continuation of the last scene so things were left in a good place and I have no need for violence now. At first.. yea, I had a little freak out. Thank you for that epilogue Susie!

Now if I can just get her to type book 3 faster!

The best kind of taste - the taste of love, the taste of home

description

Chase and Kay have stumbled and fell. They have sought redemption and found it in each other's embrace. Shelter and home in their love. But past has a way to always catch up on you. Skeletons in the closet and of course guilt for things we can no longer fix. Will nightmares haunt them once again? Is love strong enough to survive our mistakes?

Life binds. Death shatters

description

As long as they are both alive, Chase and Kay will keep fighting for the happily ever after they deserve.

description

The first book ended with Chase's brother standing in front of him, a runaway asking for help. In this one, the two brothers will face the wounds they have inflicted upon each other, seeking healing and forgiveness. An unwelcome familiar face also comes back for Kay, who needs to fix her relationship with her mother and also stand by Chase as he struggles and despairs with helping his brother. All these complex relationships and emotions are in my mind what Susie does best. Creating believable and totally relatable characters, imperfect and all more beautiful for it.

Amazingly hot scenes, heartbreaking moments and her signature cliffhanger-y finale; all in a gripping read that you wish it doesn't end. But it does and I am left asking: "When can we have more, S.R. Grey?"

My Chase and Kay:

Chase Gartner, an ex-con with messed up family, thought that he finally got his life on the line when he earned the love of lovely Kay in previous book - I Stand Before You. But when his underaged brother Will comes to ask for help, Chase's past shows his ugly head. Seems like Chase's new life may fall apart once again...

Never Doubt Me is a book about making the best out of what life gave you, about learning from your mistakes and finding someone to have your back no matter what. However, the question remains: will Chase fall back into easy but dangerous patterns once again or will he stay strong and on the right track?

I have to admit that I really missed Chase. Never Doubt Me may be written in dual POV, but Chase was running the show. He is such a perfect mixture of possessive, gentle and caring boyfriend and it is impossible not to love him. Moreover, I absolutely loved the fact that Chase was doing everything in his power to prevent his little brother from making the same mistakes he had done in the past. The love between siblings is a strong one and author did it a justice writing about it in this novel.

I cannot forget to mention that this novel is also S.R. Grey's the sexiest book to the date. Chemistry between Kay and Chase was scorching hot. They were needy, rough, possessive and it all worked perfectly for them.

Good news is that this book has no cliffhanger. But author has left some unanswered questions and I already cannot wait for book #3. If you are fan of NA novels, I highly recommend this beautifuly written series!

HEA:

I fell in love with Kay and Chase in I Stand Before You. Not only did I love both MCs, individually, I felt they had such a seamless fit as a couple, and I was sad to see the story end. It was a definite five star read for me which I gave with no hesitation. They were both flawed people with genuine hearts that you rooted for from beginning to end. Their flaws only serve to make them more relatable to me, because after all, who out there can say they always make the right choices and decisions in life? They both went through their own struggles in order to be able to have a healthy relationship-him with his past of drug addiction and fighting, and her with her extreme guilt over things that were beyond her control.

I'm trying so hard to be the kind of man you deserve, Kay, I really am. But it seems like this shit from the past keeps popping up and leading me back to the ways I used to solve problems.

On the surface, this seems like typical NA fare: two broken people with painful pasts who help each other deal and fall in love. But the story had so much more depth-it deals with drug addiction, grief, crippling guilt and low self-worth, and trying to grow, learn and change. In this book they still have the same struggles, but they give each other strength and determination to stay on the right track. Chase is in awe that he even got a shot at a relationship with Kay but he's willing to do anything in order to live up to the ideal she has of him.

This was a great continuation of their story-though I think the struggle with Chase's little brother Will and his girlfriend too up a large chunk of the book and I wouldn't have minded getting more Kay and Chase time. The story was once again well written but it would've been nice to see the romantic side come out a little more. In book 1, Chase was a lot more affectionate with Kay. He didn't seem to use his nicknames with her as much (something I loved in the last book) which seemed a little odd to me but not enough to bother me all that much. Something that didn't change-their heated and volatile chemistry. Anyone who can dirty talk like him gets high marks from me. The man knows how to use his mouth...in more ways than one.

He really brings Kay out of her shell, helps her explore and be brave in asking for what she wants. And she brings out a softer side to him. He's also extremely protective and possessive. I liked seeing her confidence grow in her sexuality and the tender yet firm touch he had with Kay. Their chemistry was definitely still there.

The story didn't end in a similar high note like before, but it was still a pretty manageable cliffy. Overall, I continued to love this couple and was more than satisfied with the next piece to their story. I will be anxiously awaiting the third installment due out at the end of the year.

Chase and Kay are very much in love and still going strong. Their jobs are going well and life is good for them too, especially with their other healthy "appetites." However, things will change when they have two unexpected house guests. Shortly after they arrive, another out of town guest arrives, wanting to make amends. Add to that the main reason for the first guests, who sets off a chain reaction with his actions and life just keeps getting more complicated for Chase, causing him to hide things from Kay. Other things happen that are sad and a few things that are unexpected and it all adds up to set the scene for what Chase is about to do in book 3.

Will Chase be able to keep the ones he loves safe? Well, we won't know until the next book: Just Let Me Love You. Be on the look out for book 3 around Dec 2014- Jan 2015.

5 Habit Forming, Sexy Stars!
I heart you Chase Gartner!

The Review:
When the author asked me to read the continuing journey of Chase and Kay, I readily agreed because book one, though for me, had it’s flaws, really left me with a great feeling as the hero and heroine found their way to one another amidst hardships and personality clashes. Chase was a struggling hero just trying to find his way in the world again and Kay was buried so deep in self blame, it was hard for her to see any light at the end of the tunnel. They captured my heart and I couldn’t wait to see what their future held.

I wasn’t disappointed. Never Doubt Me picks up right where the first book leaves off and with the introduction of new characters, new challenges, new friendships from previous conflicts and old enemies, I couldn’t put this book down!

Characters/Story...
Chase has some tough moments in this book. He has finally steadied himself on that shadowy edge between being a good man and reverting back to his ruffian days. Drugs, fighting and being quick tempered are strong temptations for him. It’s a place he can find absolute oblivion and forget the troubles he’s facing. But the one thing that stops him is the challenge of being a better man for the woman he loves. His whole heart and soul are devoted to Kay so when he finds himself falling over that edge, which happens on more than one occasion during this read, he quickly pulls himself back, for her... and for himself. He’s not been on the safe track long before his younger brother, who he’s not really connected with in four years, comes barreling in with a whole slew of problems. And it seems Will is heading down the same dark path Chase has traveled.

Chase tries to play the big brother roll and you can tell Will would rather be the kid brother hanging with his older brother, but Will’s girlfriend finds herself in a terrible situation, causing Will to slide into protector roll which causes him to act out and do dangerous things.. which in turn, pulls a recovering Chase right along with him.
And poor Kay is caught right in the middle. But Kay is a wonderful heroine and she’s right there beside her man through it all. Chase and Kay’s story doesn't hold much relationship angst but they both have other people in their lives who are struggling and it was really nice to see them come together and tackle those hurdles as one loving couple!

I loved this read. The first book was a great story and the writing was well done and this book just continues that wonderful, heartfelt journey of these two admirable characters who are trying to overcome the pain of their pasts and make a happy present and a beautiful future.

I love how protective Chase is over Kay. So is Will when it comes to his girl. And though its romantic and all kinds of alpha hot, it’s also a bit sad because you understand Chase, as well as his brother, know loss. They know what it’s like to lose someone they love (like their father) and something that's precious (their security, their hope and their future). So they grab on and hold tight to that which they love and clutch it fiercely between their hands, hoping it never slips through.

I also really enjoyed the introduction of Will and Cassie, his girlfriend. Seeing Will and his struggle to come to terms with all the things life has thrown at him was like watching a younger Chase. I can only imagine Chase as the angry, hurt and scared boy that Will is. Their fathers suicide really turned their entire family upside down and has had a spiraling effect on all the Gartners. The mom has given up on her family. The sons are just trying to cope with everyday life. It’s harrowing and angsty and a lot of fun to read. Don't’ judge me! I love my angsts :)

And I cannot end this review without talking about the steamy chemistry between Chase and Kay which was full on smokin’ hot! Kay is one lucky girl! Yes, I have lust feelings for Chase Gartner and he is now my new book boyfriend :D

The Wrap Up:
This book leaves off, like the first one, with a significant cliffy and though I’m a hater of all things cliffy, I truly can’t wait to see what the third book holds. It’s going to be a long wait, but I consider my impatience proof positive of how much I enjoyed this read and these characters.

Quotes I Loved...

Quote Spotlight...
Chase smiles at me. It never fails to amaze me how unaware he is of how absolutely breathtaking he can be. Like now, tonight, in this moment. I take in his smooth chest, wide and strong, and how his biceps flex when he flips back the sheet to make room for me. I sigh. The man is just perfection.

Quote Spotlight...
”You’re so beautiful, Kay, standing before me like this, naked, vulnerable - mine.”
“I am yours,” I murmur.

Quote Spotlight...
Kay is better than any drug I’ve ever done; she overloads my senses in the best kind of way. So I keep on tasting our love as I move my hips slowly, making love to my girl.

Quote Spotlight...
When I dig deep, down into my soul, I know I want this, too. I long to create life with the woman who had shown me living is possible. And not just that it is possible, but that living can be good.

Quote Spotlight...
... I’d walk into the fires of hell for Chase. I love him that much.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Never Doubt Me is the unforgettable follow up to book one, I Stand Before You. This intense and awe-inspiring book will move you. It's story and it's characters are completely captivating. Putting it down is simply just not an option.

"Life binds. Death shatters."

Chase's brother, Will ends up staying in Harmony Creek and that stirs up trouble for Chase and Kay. His decisions brings Chase's former life to light and everything that comes with it. As Chase tries to be a better man for Kay, his past is there taunting him, reminding him of the person he once was. He vows to be everything and more for Kay. Chase and Kay endure many ups and downs in this one. Their love is tested in ways unimaginable. But, when Chase makes a decision without Kay, their commitment to each other is threatened. Giving away the story and the events would be a complete disservice to the reader. The trials and tribulations they are faced with are not easy ones. Once you are wrapped into this story it will not let you go until the very end. And even after, you are still left reeling.

"But most important, he gives me life."

Chase and Kay have this connection that is beyond words. Their souls are forever interconnected. You FEEL their love for each other. Despite their past and the pain endured, Kay and Chase love with a love so intense. So genuine. So raw. So real. Their love knows no boundaries. Their love story continues with Never Doubt Me. There is SO much more to Chase and Kay we get to see and it is completely beautiful. Even as life continues to throw things in their way, their love and admiration for each other pushes through it all.

"The sincerity and pure emotion in Chase's eyes as he was gazing up at me touched my soul."

My heart still continues to beat over this series, the emotion, the intensity of it all. The passion of this story. It is completely breathtaking. The writing flawless. And the storytelling? Completely captivating. If you loved the first book in this series, this one will leave you reeling. Without giving the story away, this is not your typical read. It is SO much more than that. What Chase and Kay have to endure is not what most young couples experience as the continue to fall in love and their relationship grows. I love the realness factor of this story. The author holds nothing back. She goes where many stories don't go. Chase's past is not pretty, and it's not painted as such. Kay's guilt continues to way heavily on her. This is the kind of story that you EXPERIENCE and FEEL. Their love sees through pain and darkness. It endures.

"Never doubt me."

Chase's love for Kay never wanes. It never falters. He chooses love. Always. Even in his decision at the end. He still held Kay above everything. His love for her surpasses everything. Even himself. But Kay is so much stronger than Chase thinks. He must learn he can never doubt her. Never doubt her love for him. Never doubt that her heart beats for him. And him only. Her love is with him. At all times. He is her home. And with him she will always be. While this story doesn't end on a cliffhanger per se, Chase and Kay are not finished. This beautiful story of love, forgiveness, and redemption surpassed all my expectations. Once again, I didn't read this book. I LIVED it.

My favorite part about reading one of Grey's books is that I'm always completely consumed from the minute I start till I hit the last page and then I'm always wanting more! Never Doubt Me is the second book in the Judge Me Not series and it was just as amazing as the first book.

Our story starts off at the end of the last book, I Stand Before You. Chase and Kay get an unexpected visit when Chase's brother, Will and his girlfriend Cassie show up at the farmhouse. Cassie apparently has a sicko for a step-father and Will decided that they needed to get far away from Vegas. As the Gartner brothers hash out their conflicts, they've come to an understanding till things smooth out with Cassie's mom and eventually the brothers start to connect again and Kay even starts to feel like part of their family. But an ugly past has it's way of showing up when you least expect it and Chase is afraid that Will is going down the same path he took when he was his age. When Will gets in over his head, Chase takes it upon himself to make sure things don't get to messy, but he's pushing away the one person he needs the most to do it.

I really loved the direction Grey took with this book. I remember Will as the little brother in Chase's memories, he's obviously grown up now, but I still see a messed up kid looking for hope and it breaks my heart thinking about how alone he must of felt with his brother so far away and a mother who only thinks about herself. Will needs a solid figure in his life, someone who understands him and gets what he's going through. I really loved the bonding moments between Chase and his brother, it was good to see someone finally caring about him. But boy oh boy, these two are so much alike its kinda scary. Fierce, protective and stubborn as hell. They're the kind of boys who will stop at nothing to defend their own and be dammed anyone who stands in their way. Gotta love these Gartner boys!

I don't know why, but I thought this book would have been in Will's point of view, so I was pleasantly surprised that it was in duel thoughts between Chase and Kay. I love them so much. They've always had amazing chemistry together, but Grey definitely stepped it up a notch with this one. There was some seriously sizzling off-the-charts hot sexy-times (mirror scene? sexy.as.hell) coupled with some really sweet moments that curled my toes and made my heart all kinds of happy. But it was also so wonderful to see how far they've come and talk of planing their future together. Kay is the perfect girl for Chase. She is ever so patient and supportive and her unconditional love for him shines throughout the entire novel. Chase is still our crazy protective bad boy we all know and love but he's trying so hard to be the man Kay deserves, tries so hard to walk the straight and narrow, but circumstances with his brother is forcing him to resume his darker ways and I hate that he's pushing Kay away. I get that he's only trying to protect her, but he needs to learn that they're stronger when united. I'm sure Kay will have a few choice words in the next installment, Just Let Me Love You, and I simple can't wait to see what happens with Chase, Kay, Will and Cassie next. I need more!!

Another wonderful book in the "Judge Me Not" series!
The overall emotions in this book were so sweet and endearing I found myself reading it a little more slowly just to savior the warm fuzzy feelings it left me with.
We jumped right back in with a big surprise showing up on Chase's doorstep and a good part of the book is wrapped up in seeing how Chase and Kay handle that surprise and all the emotions (good and bad) it brings with it. There is certainly some trouble and some drama in the story but some seriously sexy scenes between Chase and Kay kept me very pleased with the pace of the book and made it hard to put down.
It leaves me hoping that even with everything going to hell Kay and Chase can overcome their pasts, conquer their present, and eventually embrace the happily ever after they so deserve. This was another beautifully written book by S.R. Grey and I am truly looking forward so see where the story takes the characters next. In my opinion "Never Doubt Me" is definitely recommended!

5 star Review Never Doubt Me (Judge Me Not #2) by S.R.Grey

AUDIO REVIEW:
Picking up where book one finished, this is the continuing story of Chase Gartner and Kay Stanton. It was an emotional story that was well written and is narrated by Amber Bray she brought depth to the story and added to my listening pleasure.

When Chase’s fifteen year old brother Will and his girlfriend Cassie suddenly arrive in Harmony Creek, their arrival tests the relationship between Chase and Kay. Chase will be drawn into the drama of his brother and his poor decision making. Despite his attempts, it appears Will is determined to self destruct and in doing so others will be put in harms way.

My heart really went out to Chase, who is desperate to “save” his brother and keep his relationship with Kay on track. He really melts my heart as he continues to do better for Kay.

I love the relationship between Chase and Kay, not only Is the chemistry between them hot but their love for one another is beautiful. I lo e how Kay is there for Chase, no matter what.

Never Doubt Me is a story of hope, forgiveness and coming to terms with the past, it’s a story of damaged people who find in each other hope and the chance to love. It is a story of family, of digging down deep and realizing that one can never really escape the past.

Never Doubt Me sat high on my anticipated books of 2014 shelf. I jumped at the opportunity to read and write an early review for Chase and Kay. I mean, who in their right mind would pass up the offer to delve deeper into the mind of one of their favorite book boyfriends. Um, not me, that is for sure! I am absolutely crazy in love with this hero; anything Chase Gartner related sends little tingles throughout my body. If Chase were real, I would pretty much stalk Susie until she introduced me. Poor Kay, she would have some serious competition coming her way. Once again, Chase gave me everything I was looking for and did not fail to leave me swooning. *sigh*

If you follow my reviews you’ll know, I am obsessed with stories about tatted bad boys who find love in all the right places, yet can’t seem to find that balance between peace and turmoil (and if you didn't then you know now). The one thing consistent about Chase is that he never fails to provide this. Chase always stays true to Chase, even with finding his perfect girl.

I love an author who knows her characters so well that she does not change who they essentially are just because they found that one true love. Love is not about changing the other person into the person you want them to be; it is about trying to become a better person for them, while staying true to who you are. Susie did an amazing job embodying this. I fell even harder for Chase in NDM because even though he was trying really hard to change his ways; he was still perfectly, imperfect. Susie explored Chase’s flaws thoroughly, bringing this fantasy man to life. His character felt less like a “character” and more like a man you would meet out in the real world. Our hero found himself having to make choices and decision that led him back down roads he struggled to move beyond, thus making his dilemmas more tangible. In Never Doubt Me, Chase is tested. He is pulled between right and wrong and the loyalty he feels between Kay and Will. Does he save his brother from going down the same roads he once traveled by once again visiting his past or does he stay the path to the new life he has started to build with his girl? I really do not envy our man right about now; not sure, I could choose between my sibling and my love, but in Chase fashion, he follows the only code he has ever known.

Once again, Kay blew me away with her absolute love for Chase. Susie could not have created a better heroine for our hero. She is the perfect balance of good and bad. What she portrays to others in the outside world is not always as it seems. Our good girl has some serious bad girl tendencies! It was wicked fun watching her explore that side of herself. If you have read I Stand Before You then you know the author portrays a church going Kay who has a high moral standard, but underneath that layer is a girl who also struggles with what's right and what's wrong. In Never Doubt Me, Kay realizes that her mind is not as pure as she thought it was, and she is OK with that; hell, I am OK with that! Any girl who is not only freaky in the bedroom, but can also accept her man at face value is pretty fantastic in my book. Oh, did I fail to mention that their sexual chemistry was off the charts hot?!!

So at this point you are probably wondering why the 4 star review. The reason for that is due to the difference I felt in my own personal connection to the characters between the two books. Obviously, I adored Never Doubt Me; however, while Chase and Kay are still intense, it wasn't the same type of intensity I fell in love with in I Stand Before You. This time around, for me, the intensity felt like it lied more in the bedroom. I do not want to make it seem like Never Doubt Me was lacking in any shape or form in the emotional connection department because it wasn't. It is just that I missed that all-consuming emotional intensity I felt while Kay and Chase were first discovering each other. I get that they have grown and this is them in the next stage of their relationship, so it obviously won't be the same. Ugh, I don’t know quite how to put it into words, something just felt different to me. It very well may be that NDM focuses mainly on the hardships of Chase's brother Will and Will's girlfriend Cassie, and that focus guides the relationship between Chase and Kay. Therefore, the story no longer centers solely on them, giving it a different vibe and atmosphere.

Nevertheless, when it comes down to the big question of whether or not I would recommend this book to others, I will give you a big HELL YEAH, I would!! I believe everyone should experience Chase and Kay. They are one of my all time favorite book couples. I will without a doubt be adding Never Doubt Me to my paperback shelf to sit alongside I Stand Before You. You can bet your bottom, I will be stalking Susie down for one.

If you have never met Chase Gartner than I suggest you one click I Stand Before You now. In case you’re in need of more convincing, here is a teaser from my review: “I Stand Before You is a hauntingly beautiful journey of how the past shapes the future and guides them into the person he or she will become, while the consequences and lessons learned can be harsh and heart breaking. Susie wrote a captivating tale of reality, staying true to some very hard and uncomfortable subjects and the aftermath that follows.” I promise you will become just as addicted to this man as I am. By the end of ISBY, you will not be able to help but one click Never Doubt Me.

Oh and for those who are already addicted to Chase, you will be happy to know that you’ll be getting a bit more Chase in Just Let Me Love You. Just an fyi, this isn't a scary kind of cliff hanger, it just one that leaves you wanting more Chase.

Thank you, S.R. Grey, for the opportunity to read a complimentary gift of Never Doubt Me in exchange for an honest review.

Never Doubt Me starts off right where I Stand Before You leaves off. Chase Gartner has a surprise visitor show up at his door, his estranged 15 year old brother Will, and his 16 year old girlfriend. They have run away from Las Vegas to get away from Cassie's creepy step father. Chase and Kay are doing really well together now they have to be chaperones for hormone charged teenagers who are in over their heads.

Chase and Kay are a strong couple and are determined to make it work, but the pressures facing Chase dealing with his brother bring his past back to the present and the man he use to be keeps trying to come back. Kay knows Chase and she also knows he has his demons but she loves all of him if only she can make him believe that. Chase wants the life he has now but he loves his brother and will do whatever he has to in order to protect him, even if that brings out his bad side. He believes Kay deserves better, the question remains if Kay can make him see that he is exactly who she needs.

This story is more Will and Cassie's storyline and how it affects Chase and Kay. Kay proves to be strong and a great lead character while Chase battles his demons he demonstrates what a great guy he is, willing to do whatever he can to protect both Kay and Will. I love how Kay accepts Chase, all of him, and loves all of him. Chases' struggle seems to be in accepting that love. Kay and Chase are a great couple, they are just perfect for each other. It is in this story though that we really seem to get to know Chase better.

There is a bit of a cliff hanger in the end of this book, and I cannot wait to find out what will happen, but wait we must.

Never Doubt Me picks up right where I Stand Before You left off. With Chase's brother Will and his girlfriend, Cassie, showing up on his doorstep. I was glad we got to see the relationship between Chase and Will. Even though it was clearly strained over Chase's drug abuse and prison time, you are still able to see the love between them. That doesn't mean things are easy. Their relationship is messy but underneath it all you can tell they both are just scared. I loved seeing the big brother side of Chase. He really fills those shoes well. Will doesn't make it easy. He starts making friends and bad decisions, I was glad Chase didn't sit back. It really shows just how much he has learned from his mistakes and it was just great to see how much he cares for Will and how he wants him to be better than what he was.
Anyways- Kay and Chase's relationship is not without struggles but I don't feel like their problems were major, which is a good thing! These two have been through so much in the past that I am glad their relationship isn't one bad thing after another. The struggles they face are realistic. That. That being said after that ending I am looking forward to the next book! I was not glad with the way things ended but thank goodness for that Epilogue! Without it I would not have been happy! ;) I have to say this was a great follow up to ISBY!

Never Doubt Me picks up where
we were left from I Stand Before You. Chases little brother Will is at his door
with his girlfriend in tow. They have ran away from home because Wills girlfriend
Cassie, has a perverted step dad. Having nowhere to go they end up at Chases.
Chase and Kay are doing great but with the two teenagers around they are bound
to have some drama.

This book we learn more about
Will and see how he is struggling with the life he is living. Being15yrs old and trying drugs to
running away his life is pretty messed up right now. Chase and Kay’s relationship
is affected by everything that’s going on, and Chase and Kay are trying to fix
it, but sometimes you can’t fix everything. Chase is not crazy about having two
teenagers hanging around in his house. He sees his brother doing things Chase use to do and he
is trying to fight his demons from his past without being pulled back into the
man he was. He reverts back a little to his old ways, but assures himself it’s
to protect Kay. During this time, he is struggling and he believes Kay deserves
better than him. Chase does everything to protect his little brother and seeing
that side of him just kind of makes your heart melt. Seeing how much he loves
his little brother was so sweet.

Kay, I just love her. She is
very strong in this book and shows Chase that she will always be by his side
and there for him. She helps Chase with his brother and grew to love Will like
her own brother. Kay throughout this book is making amends with her past.
Watching them work through all the drama and have each other’s back was
incredible. You see how much they need each other and how good they are
together.

In between the drama and
angst, there is some scorching hot scenes between Chase and Kay.

Chase and his dirty mouth!
Woo Wee! ;)

Towards the end there is a
conflict going on and you are kind of left with a cliffhanger. It’s not too bad
and you get an awesome epilogue! So far I have enjoyed this series and just
love Chase and Kay!

I am looking forward to
the third book!

Review originally posted at Ramblings From This Chick

I honestly couldn't wait to read Never Doubt Me the second I had finished I Stand Before You. S.R. Grey has created such fabulous and real characters, that you can't help but feel emotionally invested in their story. Never Doubt Me should only be read after you read I Stand Before You as it is the continuing story of Chase and Kay. I was so glad to get to know Chase's little brother Will better and to get more of Chase and Kay. This series is so good, and this book definitely did not disappoint. This series is becoming one of my favorites that I have ever read and if you haven't already read these, you are seriously missing out!

Chase and Kay are together and things are going well for them. But as we left them at the end of I Stand Before You, Chase's little brother Will has just appeared on his doorstep with his girlfriend Cassie. Chase tells Will that they need to head back to Vegas, but with everything going on with Cassie's creepy step-dad as well as things with Will and their mom they end up staying a little longer. As Chase and Kay try to help Will and Cassie, their pasts find their way into affecting their future. Will is troubled and is struggling with drugs the way that Chase did, and Chase will do anything to turn his brother's life around before he ends up following the same path he did. But with Chase facing temptation he will have to stay strong and rely on Kay to help him avoid falling into old habits. Kay is determined to support Chase and be there for him and Will in any way she can, but with her ex Doug reappearing in town, and more truths revealed about the night her sister died, she is thrown for a loop. Her mother also suddenly reappears and though she wants to apologize and set things right, Kay is not sure that she can let her in again. Can Chase and Kay find a way to lean on each other and get through things together? Or will they be broken when Chase makes the decision to leave Kay behind when he rushes off to Vegas to stop his brother Will from making a deadly mistake?

Chase and Kay are so sweet together. They are absolutely adorable together, and I love how perfect for each other they really are. They faced some really tough things together in this installment of their story, and yet they were able to lean on each other and draw strength from one another. They are committed to each other and are determined to make things work. Their relationship is so natural and strong in all aspects. I freaking love these two, and they seem so real to me. You can't help but not only root for them, but also fall in love with them. I was so glad to see that the drama and angst in this story isn't about their relationship for the most part, but about things that they are forced to deal with. Even when they had issues, their relationship remained solid and that was so nice and refreshing to see, especially in a NA story. I also really loved getting to know Will and Cassie. They are really cute together as well, and I really hope that things work out for them also.

Overall, this was a great second installment in this series. I couldn't put it down, and just like the first book this one was really well written and I was engaged right from the start. These books are so worth the read, and I can't wait to get more of Chase and Kay. Chase, Kay, Will and Cassie have a lot more ahead of them, and I know that it is going to be interesting. We are left with another cliffhanger and the story will continue in Just Let Me Love You. It cannot come soon enough, and I know I will be stalking the book sites until it releases. This series is so good, and is a must read for me. I highly recommend this series to romance fans, and this is one of those series that really has something for everyone. I can honestly say that I have loved every word of Chase and Kay's journey so far and am anxiously waiting to see where S.R. Grey takes them next.

Never Doubt Me by S.R. Grey
Book #2: Judge Me Not Series
Source: Author
Rating: 5/5 stars

Dear reader, I would like to introduce to the reigning Queen of All Things Angsty, Dramatic and, Heavy. Her name is S.R. Grey and she is damn good at all things angsty, dramatic and, heavy! Never Doubt Me is round two of The Judge Me Not series and it picks up exactly where book one left off, with an angsty teenager and his girlfriend standing on Chase’s front porch after having run away from home. Yep, that’s just what Chase and Kay need in their lives right now.

To be completely fair to Will (aka the angsty teen) the running away from home was justified. His girlfriend’s step-father is creeptastic and in an effort to keep her away from him, she and Will hopped in her car and drove to Chase. Unwilling to turn away his younger brother, Chase allows the two come in as long as all parents are notified and agree to the unexpected visit. Not surprisingly, Will and Chase’s lousy mother instantly agrees and Cassie’s mother, now aware of what her daughter has been enduring is aware and agrees to the arrangement as well. Kay, in an effort to support Chase and see his relationship with his brother improve, agrees to the arrangement as well.

On the surface, both Chase and Kay are totally ready to take on the challenge of Will and Cassie but underneath, each is completely uncertain. Chase sees some early signs of drug use in Will and is willing to go to any length to keep his brother from such a life. Cassie is traumatized and only with prodding is willing to talk to Kay about her situation. Additionally, Will and Cassie are totally hormonal teenagers away from home and unsupervised for much of the day while Kay and Chase are at work. Yep, nothing bad can happen there 

Though Kay understands Chase is doing the best he can she also knows he is hiding things from her and though she has asked about it, he refuses to open up. Obviously, the deceit is weighing on her and though she desperately wants to trust Chase, his past is working against him and causing Kay to doubt nearly everything about them. Additionally, Kay fully appreciates that both Will and Cassie need help but their presence is causing problems and causing the normally delightful Kay to become anxious and upset. Kay desperately wants Chase to be happy but the presence of his brother is causing the exact opposite and before all is said and done, the situation will get totally and completely out of control!

The Bottom Line: I normally run far, far away from angst in books but S.R. Grey has a way of making even me love the angst. As with book one, Never Doubt Me is a heavy and dramatic read shot through with moments of happiness, laughter and, tenderness. Oh, and Chase is a sexy, tattooed, dynamo in bed so those naughty bits are steamy and gooood  At its core, Never Doubt Me is really two reads woven into one with Will and Cassie’s story overlapping with Chase and Kay’s evolving story. The weaving is excellent and the merging of the two stories flows beautifully from start to finish. Since I mentioned the plot, you should know that even though the plot is quite fine, it really plays second fiddle to the impressively written characters. Good or bad, Grey’s characters are big, vivid and, completely consuming. It takes about a minute to get wrapped up in their lives and you just can’t ever untangle yourself nor do you care too. Oh, and then there is the matter of that dirty rotten ending that has absolutely left me desperate for book three. Happy reading and kudos to you S.R. Grey for wrapping me around your little literary finger :)

~~ 4 Stars ~~

So let me start by saying that I enjoyed this book so much more then book 1. Never Doubt Me is the second book in the Judge Me Not series. Book 1 (I Stand Before You) was the start of Kay and Chase's relationship. This book has most of the action and drama that Kay and Chase have to endure. I am not going to talk much about the storyline because I don't want to give anything away. Just know that this is a roller coaster ride. S.R. Grey added enough twists and turns to keep you on your toes. What I loved about this book was that she took out a lot of the excess information that we don't need in a story and just gave us the heart of the storyline. Plus the characters had a ton more interaction in this book. There was a lot of in your head talking in book 1, but this one the characters actually talked more to each other. I didn't feel like the author was telling me what was happening, she incorporated the feelings better in this book. I actually got to connect with Kay and Chase better and could feel what they were feeling. I thought the story flowed better in this one and that the pace was much better. It was a much quicker read then book 1 but it wasn't to quick that it felt rushed. The only thing that I didn't think was necessary for this book was all the recap the author did for book 1. I honestly thought that I didn't really even need to read book 1 because she recapped so much I don't think I would've missed anything. But truthfully it didn't deter me from really liking this book.

In this installment of the series, Kay and Chase are put to many tests, all in thanks to his younger brother Will and his girlfriend Cassie. Will and Cassie end up showing up on Chase's doorstep. Now mind you they are only teenagers and ran away from Vegas. Let it be known Chase wasn't to thrilled. Once they arrive we got to see how Chase and Will interact and I was glad to see that their relationship was getting stronger. What I loved the most was that this book really showed the functionality of Kay and Chase's relationship. It was great to see them work through their issues together. I truly felt that by the end Kay and Chase will be able to get through anything as long as they have each other.

This book does end on a cliffhanger, but what I loved was that the author added a lead into the next book as the Epilogue, so you aren't left hanging wondering what will happen. Now she doesn't give us enough to ruin or tell us the good parts of the next book, but she smoothed out the cliffhanger.

I would recommend this series/book. I have to say that this book totally saved this series for me. I am also looking forward to seeing how Kay and Chase's story will end and what will happen with Will and Cassie.

“Sure, I want to be a good person, and for the most part, I am, but I can’t deny there’s a level of darkness in me, just like there is in Chase.”

I absolutely love this book. I love the story, I love the characters, I love the excellent sex scenes, and I love how the author finds a strikingly perfect balance between hopeful romance and the dark moments that still creep in.

Chase and Kay are amazing together. Their relationship isn’t perfect, but there’s such a fantastic connection between these two as they struggle to move on from their pasts and in to a hopeful future. Life’s difficulties creep in, and even when not handled perfectly, there’s still such clear love between these two. They share an intense connection and I appreciate (so much!) that the author doesn’t constantly have the couple in extremely dramatic emotional turmoil. That’s not to say that there’s not a lot of strong emotion, because there is, it’s just not a constant “I love you, wait now I can’t stand you” roller coaster ride. This is a strong couple, one that faces their difficulties and tries their best do to right by the other. Oh, and their sexual chemistry is super intense. There’s some great sex scenes and let’s face it, who wouldn’t want to spend some sexy time with Chase Gartner: the hotter-than-hell, inked up bad-boy with a past, who wants change and be the best for his “sweet girl”. The beautiful Kay is his perfect complement: soft and vulnerable, but with a surprising and admirable strength, and her own sexy side. Everything about this couple is so real, so genuine, that as I reader I couldn’t help but feel connected to them.

“I like his hand over my mouth, keeping me quiet while he fucks me as only he can do, with power, with finesse.”

Will’s brother and his girlfriend Cassie add another layer to the story. It was beautiful watching Chase and Will reconnect and heartbreaking to witness the struggles that this young couple faces, and the struggles that Chase and Kay must face with them.

I can’t say enough good things about this book and this series. I enjoyed so much reading Chase and Kay’s story as their relationship develops and moves forward. I’m captivated by their romance, and hopeful for their future. I wish them luck, because some pretty big obstacles are ahead of them, and I absolutely want to best for this couple. This is the second book in the series, and the author has done a good job of filling in any necessary information from the first book, so it could potentially be read alone. However, I highly recommend reading the first book in the series. Trust me, you don’t want to miss any of this engaging story of loss, love, hope, and redemption. As with the first book, this second book ends with a dramatic conclusion, and I’m eagerly waiting for the next book in the series.

“A long time ago, when Chase and I first embarked on this journey of our relationship, I told him that I was in this for the long run. He said he was trouble and I asked him to be my trouble. I still feel the same way.”

Never Doubt Me picks up immediately after I Stand Before You. Chase and Kay have battled their demons and found true love. Surely nothing can get in their way, right? Right? Well, life's about to throw them another huge curveball in the form of Chase's troubled little brother, Will and his girlfriend, Cassie. They're on the run from Cassie's sleazy stepfather and they've come to Chase from Las Vegas to escape.

The dynamics between the characters in this book are quite different from those in I Stand Before You. Where the first book focused primarily on Chase and Kay's baggage and their overcoming it and ultimately finding true love, this book focused far more on family relationships. That's not to say there weren't some great Chase and Kay scenes in this book. There definitely were – and they were pretty steamy, too. They may have been each other's lifeline when they were younger, but their relationship is strained. They work hard to overcome their differences and reconnect in Never Doubt Me. It's definitely not easy, what with Will's new, bad influence friend and the issues with Cassie and her stepfather, but I loved watching them grow closer together.

Chase is such a standout in this book. I loved him in I Stand Before You, troubles, tattoos and all. He goes to great lengths to protect those he loves. There was a lot of stress on Chase throughout this book. His brother causes a lot of problems and he gets mixed up with some rather unsavory people from Chase's past. Unfortunately, Will's presence and his habits lead to Chase keeping secrets and, at times, lashing out at Kay. I still adore Kay. I loved how she befriended Cassie and tried to help the girl out. I also enjoyed the most unexpected bond she formed with Missy. Even through all the drama, Chase and Kay are still incredible together. Their love for each other practically jumps off the pages and the heat factor is high between them. Of course, I detest when anything (or anyone) gets between my favorite characters, so Will wasn't high on my list of favorites in this book. It's not that he was a completely terrible human being, he was just trouble. But there's no question he loved Cassie and would do anything to protect her. (Sound familiar? He definitely takes after his brother.)

This book took a couple very unexpected turns and, though I ultimately predicted where the story was going to go in the end, I'm still anxious to see how it all wraps up in the third book. I need all my beloved characters in this series to get their happily ever after.

Never Doubt Me is book two in the Judge Me Not series and picks up where I Stand Before You left off. To say I am impressed with Never Doubt Me would be an understatement. This book is outstanding. S.R. Grey is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Her ability to draw the reader in through her descriptive writing allows you to step into this story as though these are your friends, your family, your loved ones. The words she pens will touch you to your core. You feel the love, the anger, the passion, the fear; every emotion is carefully crafted to make you relate to the respective character and their emotions.

Chase and Kay’s story continue, though there are many bumps along the road. These two continue to inspire me. Their relationship is one I will root for until the very end. Their struggles bring them closer, though there are a few secrets in Never Doubt Me, I think these two may be able to overcome every hurdle thrown their way. With the arrival of Chase’s fifteen year old brother Will, Chase and Kay’s relationship is put to the test.

Will shows up at his house with his sixteen year old girlfriend Cassie in tow. The two have fled Vegas to put distance between Cassie and her stepfather Paul who has continuously made advances towards her unbeknownst to Cassie’s mother. In order to protect her, Will thinks asking Chase for help is a good solution, but this only creates a number of problems leaving Chase and Kay to deal with the fallout. This book starts off rocky, but the beauty of it is the rebuilding of relationships between several key characters — Will and Chase, Cassie and her mom, Kay and her mom, and even Missy and Kay. Addiction still plays a significant role in this book and Chase is hell bent on keeping Will away from the life he has fought so hard to leave behind.

This book is heavy at times, the love scenes are scorching and the relationships are equally endearing and heartbreaking. There are a few unexpected twists and turns and the book ends in a similar fashion as I Stand Before You — with you on the edge of your seat. You’ll want to know what’s to come. I have hope that this story will turn out well and that the characters I’ve grown to love will find their happily ever after. I doubt their happy ending will come easy, but I can’t wait to enjoy the ride. This book is unputdownable and I am eagerly awaiting the third installment, Just Let Me Love You. I highly recommend this to all New Adult/Contemporary Romance fans.

Right when you think everything's going well, things go to crap. Isn't that the way things always go? Chase and Kay seemed to be in a good place at the end of I Stand Before You. There's just the mild snafu of Chase's idiotic 15-year-old brother showing up unexpectedly on his doorstep, but really, why would this affect this couple who seem so very much in love with one another? *snort*

Will's arrival at Chase's house in Ohio should be a happy thing for both boys. They can reconnect in person, and at first, it seems like that is happening. But, Will has issues of his own, many of which Chase can relate to. And, Chase has no idea how to reign him in. Chase starts keeping secrets from Kay, who is trying to be supportive, but not quite sure where her boundaries are.

In Never Doubt Me, I was glad to see that "perfect" Chase is not always so perfect. He doesn't always say the pretty words and do the most romantic things. When Chase is stressed out and upset, he lashes out, and Kay is usually the closest person to him, so she catches the brunt of it. I was actually happy to see this. Guys that are too perfect and completely unbelievable. They need flaws. They need their douchey moments. They make these guys a lot more attractive.

Chase is not a parent, yet he's expected to act like one to his younger brother. He's bound to screw up, especially when Will is so hell-bent on helping things along. I felt so badly for Chase and what he had to deal with. There were so many times when I think I would've just bought a cage and kept my jerk of a kid brother in it until he had to go home. There were times when I wanted to yell at Chase that he was going too easy on Will. It was frustrating. This book was much more frustrating than the first one.

Because, Chase also started keeping things from Kay. He got sucked into parts of his old life that should've stayed buried. He didn't talk to Kay about it when she asked him to. He called it "protecting" her. And, it upset her, understandably. Chase and Kay both say things they shouldn't. I love that they, as a couple, aren't as perfect too. Truly, imperfection makes a book perfect.

Both I Stand Before You and Never Doubt Me were told from dual POV, which is my favorite way to tell a story. In addition to the romance and sweetness between Chase and Kay, there was also TONS of steam. This is one hot series - another favorite thing of mine.

Things were left on a bit of a cliffhanger at the end of Never Doubt Me. I'm anxious for the final installment to find out what happens to Chase and Kay and also Will. Because events at the end of Never Doubt Me had all of them sort of hurtling toward disaster.

This book would reveal what happened after their HEA in the first book, and I was hoping it would end just the same. Nevertheless, the ending of the first book had me dying to read this – because Will came knocking on his door, with his girlfriend Cassie.

It was looking at Chase and Kay in the future – being parents to teenage kids. At first, I was worried on how they would handle the two – but they were doing great. They were doing everything they can to have the kids stay out of trouble.

Although I was looking forward for Will or Cassie’s POV in this book, I was contented watching them through the eyes of both Chase and Kay. If you fell in love with this couple in this first book, watch them living their love in Never Doubt Me. Kay was an amazing girl who stood by Chase, and supported him all throughout this ordeal. Their relationship is quite fresh, and is just starting to built a foundation – but their love was strong enough for the both of them to handle this type of responsibility. Even at the ending, when everything was not-so-perfect, she makes her decision, and still stood with her man.

Chase tries to keep his brother out of trouble, getting into some of them himself just to save him, and not making the same mistakes he did in the past. But Will’s behavior continues, and it’s affecting their new relationship as well. I didn’t know whether to hate to love Will – he certainly isn’t helping with all the decisions that he is making and the trouble he is putting his brother too. But he’s young – hormone driven, and quite impulsive. He had been through so much, but I just wish he’d stop, THINK FIRST and act. Because the ending – OMG!!!!!!!!!! How can you possibly do this to Chase?! How can you possibly think it would solve the problem??!!!!

Never Doubt Me gave me a great story line with a romance worth swooning over, steamy scenes that can burn you and make you squirm with its hotness, some new-formed friendships that will surprise you, startling news, and an ending to watch out for.

Never Doubt Me is a continuation of the story between Chase and Kay. S.R. Grey brings back the depth of emotion through the deeply embedded love, guilt, and need for redemption. All the lovely elements of book one is present in this sequel. If you are fan of the first book, you will enjoy the storyline that propels our protagonists into both familiar and new sets of challenges. Written from the first person perspective, the reader gets to delve into the thought process of our characters. This POV makes the elements of the story deeply personal. It taps into the authenticity of the emotions.

As we experienced at the end of the first book, I Stand Before You, Chase and Kay are perfect for each other and it is deeply satisfying to see them together trying to figure out their future. As you might expect, life is not simple and the couple is challenged by the appearance of Chase's younger brother, Will. Will is embroiled in a mess himself and it spills over into the Kay and Chase's lives. I feel dread for what comes next.

This is a bridge story. The narrative gets more complicated and there are no resolutions. If there is one weakness to this book, it is that cannot stand alone. This book serves to heighten the drama, propel the narrative forward, and leave us wanting for more. I'm not a huge fan of cliffhangers and I feel feel anxious about the possible dark direction of where the next book may take us.

IN A NUTSHELL:
If you are already a fan of the first book, you will appreciate this installment of the series. There is definitely an assumption that you will have read the first book. If you're new, you are definitely going to want to start I Stand Before You because you're not going to want to miss out on how this all started.

Chase and Kay have committed to each other. It's love, baby. Oh, and it's drama, baby, too. See, just as this new couple is connecting and working on a future, Chase's 15 y/o brother, Will, and his 16 y/o girlfriend, Cassie, show up on Chase's doorstep. This dynamic duo fled from Vegas to rural Ohio to keep Cassie from the unholy advances of her skeevy step-dad, Paul.

Well, NOT the way to start off the weekend.

Kay is able to convince Cassie to speak to her mother about the problems with Paul, and Chase works super hard to re-connect to Will. That kid's got a giant chip on his shoulder. When all seems to be going well, with Cassie safe at home, new drama rolls in and Will goes off the reservation--straight to Chase's old drug dealer. OMG.

Chase does things--to protect Will and Kay--that he regrets, harboring secrets and driving a wedge between himself and his truest love. Again, resolutions are temporary stays of execution, and I mean that quite literally. See, Paul's a continual problem--one Will feels compelled to eradicate. It takes Chase longer than the reader to put the pieces together, but when he gets up to speed it's a full throttle race to stop Will before he crosses the line. And...cue the cliffhanger.

Whole lot of smexytimes to be had in this book. Chase and Kay alternate between sweet and dirty as they explore the depths of their pain and love, together. I felt the pacing was better here, but still stumbled a bit. Chase still struggles with his addictions, and it's no picnic having to care for Will--who doesn't mind chemically indulging now and again. The interactions between these people feel very real--I could see it all happening. I was glad Chase holding his demons at bay, and wished he would have trusted Kay just a teensy-bit more than he did. That girl's so over the moon, she thinks Chase is the sun--so I hope that all gets fixed up in Book 3.

When I first picked up I Stand Before You by S.R. Grey I wasn’t sure what to expect. I had read her romantic suspense thriller and loved it and I wasn’t sure how I felt about the author making the move to New Adult. Let me tell you S.R. Grey did not disappoint! The moment I started the book I was hooked. I feel in love with the characters from the start. The demons they carried inside brought them together and watching them both find the absolution they needed was heart warming . I was captivated by Chase’s struggle for redemption. His need to prove to himself that he had changed, that he can be a better man moved me. Kay’s sadness that she endured was heart wrenching, watching her find peace and move on was remarkable. Being able to be part of these two broken individuals coming together and find happiness was awe inspiring. The beauty of Kay’s totally acceptance of Chase was inspirational. I absolutely loved this story and couldn’t wait to dive into Never Doubt Me.

The second installment of the Judge Me Not Series picks up right where we were left. A new series of problems to overcome. Watching Kay and Chase work through these issues once again pure perfection. Kay’s love for Chase was endearing. Their passion they have for one another was all-consuming. The love for each other fierce, It was extraordinary to watch! I loved this series! S.R. Grey reels you in and captivates you. She shows you an endless love… the type we all strive for.

I Stand Before You and Never Doubt Me were perfect books for a hopeless romantic who needs angst. They were raw and passionate. They were well written and sexy. S.R. Grey’s writing is flawless, she weaves a beautiful tale of love while combining an element of mystery in all her stories. She leaves you breathless and wanting more. Can’t wait to see what Grey has up her sleeve next.

As I started NEVER DOUBT ME, I kept hoping that maybe, just maybe, things for Chase and Kay were going to be a little bit easier this time. But I should have known that it wasn't.

The story picks up at the end of I STAND BEFORE YOU with Chase's little brother, Will, and his girlfriend showing up on Chase's doorstep. Chase does what he thinks he needs to do in order to help his brother get his life back in the right direction, which at that moment would be heading back to Las Vegas. But with Kay's help, Chase finds it a time to reconnect with his brother and maybe help give him some guidance before he goes back home. Chase puts in a noble effort, but it seems Will is as much a magnet for trouble as Chase was.

Chase has definitely grown up and is proving so by what he was trying to do with his brother. But he takes his brotherly love a bit to the extreme...especially when he puts himself back in similar situations that lead to his downfall before. But his effort has a noble cause and you can forgive him for endangering himself. He loves his brother and he'd do just about anything to make sure he doesn't do what he did. Unfortunately, that love for his brother also gets in the way of Chase's relationship with Kay.

Kay is good for Chase. She grounds him, generally. But she's struggling with her own demons with her ex and her mother that she's not always able to ground Chase. Unfortunately, when he pushes her away, she lets him. But I loved how far she's come with her mother when she's able to reach out for advice on what she should do with Chase. Because in the end, Kay is going to have to prove to Chase that he (and his brother) are worth fighting for.

I can't wait for the final book in the series to come out. Vegas here we come.
