It starts awful - basically a bullet list of practice this, practice that, but without any 'how to' information. Then you get a chapter that seems pretty good. It's the magical 'imaginary box' chapter, and, while very simple, you can see the power of the principle. Still not a lot of 'how to' but its pretty self explanatory, and you get excited about what the next 3/4s of the book will take you. Well, the rest is 'compositions', just demonstrating different ways to use these 'boxes'. What writing there is is highly highly repetitive - (almost verbatim) 'such and such is quite difficult to achieve, but behold! The power of the imaginary box'. Over and over. Yes, some of the concepts are interesting, but it gets into complex compositions quickly, but there is no breaking it down, simplifying it, no effort to make these 'compositions' into exercises with a little more instruction so you can give it a whirl yourself.
I think the idea of imaginary boxes is great. But it's pretty much what I already knew, and I was hoping for a little guidance in how to develop my understanding. If you're after something similar, best look elsewhere. (google imaginary boxes, I'm sure you'll find everything I gleaned from this book in a single paragraph).
