Rate this book
Make-up artist to the stars. The favorite aunt. Dance teacher. Baby sister. Talented musician and song-writer.

Single.

Why did that word rank above the rest? Helen loved her family and understood they wanted her to have the real love they’d all found. It’s just that she’d found her someone special and learned to live without him. She’d been too young for the quirky, idealistic doctor-off to save the world-to notice. And, really, if she had it her way, he’d never know how she’d felt. Now, he was one of her best friends, a pen pal, losing him would be too much.

Seeing him at their parents wedding, Helen realizes the horrible truth: she still loves Joseph… which wouldn’t be so bad if she wasn’t in the situation she was in.

But she was. And her secret will change everything.

Will it destroy hope for a Hollywood happy ending too?

I am a fan of this series so I jumped on board to be part of this tour to review this book.

Helen has been a shining star throughout the series.

I have to admit that I had to re-skim throughout the last two books to remind myself about Joseph. For the life of me remembering Joseph left me blank. After skimming I was pleasantly surprised with the possibilities of Joe.

Right away you feel the connection between Helen and Joseph.

Not to deny themselves of happiness they act on their connection which catapults their relationship to the next level until poor choices puts a kink into their potential happiness.

But for Joe the sweetheart that he is, he fights for what he wants no matter what.

"... Because I want all of you, and whatever baggage or complications you think you're burdening me with."

For Helen the pure sweetie that she is, doesn't want to burden anyone with her bad choices and tries to push away for everyone else's happiness instead of herself.

After talking and opening up Helen and Joe find out about one another. (I loved Joe's back story but I felt it was brought up quickly and skirted around. If this was built up a bit more when tragedy arises it could have given it that extra oomph of emotions)

After everything is out in the open they decide loving each other is worth the risk.

But reality is a bitch and sends Joseph away. Waiting for his return the unthinkable happens and my heart was breaking for all the possibilities of what if.

Thankfully Joseph had good karma and gives our sweet Helen her HEA.

This is such a sweet series with loads of friendship, family, loyalty, drama and love.

Hollywood Homecoming is the third book in Sasha Summers’ Red Carpet Series and sadly, the first in the series that I have read. Well, I can safely say that after reading this book, I now own all three books in the series because this book has got me hooked! I absolutely loved, and devoured, this book!

If you asked Helen, she would tell you herself that she was totally content with her life. She was a make-up artist in Hollywood, working with special effects and amazing people, she had a wonderful family and was dubbed the favorite aunt to her nieces and nephews. The only piece of the puzzle missing was from her love life. But, she was working on that. She was finally coming to terms that the man she’s been in love with since her teen years, Joseph, would never return her affections, and she was certain that she was finally over him. He was a doctor working in Africa and hadn’t been around in two years and that time away has helped strengthen her resolve to move on. But when he returns for their parents wedding, she realizes how wrong she was in thinking she was over him. Her heart knew the truth…she would never, ever be able to forget Joseph.

Joseph is back and realizes just how much he’s missed in the past two years. Things have changed. The kids were bigger, he’d missed too many birthdays and holidays and has vowed to never miss that much time away from his family again. They all had meant too much. One person especially….only she had no idea how much she meant to him and how much he looked forward to the letters she sent him while he was away. Would he have the courage to tell her how he felt?

Helen and Joseph have a long standing history that can either help or hinder the secret feelings the both harbor….and now, when they just might each be wiling to admit their feelings, they are blindsided with a situation that will change everything.

My interest in this story was piqued after reading the synopsis and it only grew after I started reading. I adored Helen. ADORED! I don’t normally fall in love with the heroine in a story….I also don’t get along with a lot of real life women (ha!) but I absolutely love Helen! She is so quirky and honest and refreshing. She had me laughing at her sarcasm and had me bawling my eyes out during the last few chapters. Full-on, tears running down my face, sobbing. She is totally a gal I would love to hang out with and truly appreciates the love and goodness in life and looks for it in even the most dismal of situations. Joseph is an all-around great catch. He’s a handsome, intelligent, philanthropic doctor who has the biggest heart and loves without limit. He is a guy anyone would feel lucky to know and is a prince among men.

The cast of characters, as a whole, is stellar. An enjoyable and loving family anyone would want to be a part of. As I had said earlier, I haven’t read the previous two books in the series but that didn’t affect how much I loved this story. I never felt I was missing something or didn’t quite understand a reference. I really appreciate when an author is able to do that for a reader. You can enjoy one, or all, in the series without feeling lost.

There were more than a few memorable moments in this book and more than a few dreamy-sigh-worthy moments that I cherished…but the last few chapters absolutely slayed me. I was a WRECK! Talk about speed-reading to make sure things worked out ok….WHEW! I can’t give you any spoilers so you’ll just have to trust me on this one.

Hollywood Homecoming was a title I texted to my best friend the second I finished reading it with the: “you MUST get this book right this instant!” text. Yep, I loved it that much. Thank you, Sasha, for an emotional and charming read filled with characters I won’t soon forget.

I loved this book, it is unique and fresh! Very rarely will a reader find a book quite like this. You can read through it numerous times, like I did, and still giggle (yes, I said giggle) at some parts.
Hollywood Homecoming is a story of second chances, having faith in yourself and taking chances; especially with love. Everyone gets their hearts broken at some point and makes bad decisions, hey shit happens. This is Helen’s “shit happens, gotta take a chance” story. She has watched members of her family fall in love and get married, when sure that’s all fine and dandy with her; but, on the inside she’s still alone, sad and a little scared. Still infatuated with a man who is, now, thousands of miles away she wants to convince herself that those feelings no longer exist.
Joseph is a doctor who left her behind to go and try and save the world! Exchanging letters for the years he was away, Helen was put into the “friend zone”. Or, more accurately, she put herself there in her unwillingness to act on her feelings, distance herself from them. Which, as most women know, rarely ever works in our favor.
Once he laid eyes on Helen once again, he was enamored. He knew he had to have her, needed her, and he would do just about anything to have her. Even though he left, he never forgot her. And he’s glad he came back, it shows him exactly what he has been missing out on.
As with any relationship complications will arise. But Joe, being a man and a complete sweetheart, fights for what he wants. And won’t take no for an answer.
But Helen on the other hand, doesn’t want to be a burden because she made a couple “bad decisions”. She tries to distance herself and push those closest away. Apparently, everyone else’s happiness is more important than her own.
As Helen and Joe open up with each other they realize exactly how well matched they are. But, will Helen overcome her insecurities enough to take a chance on trusting Joe? You’ll have to read it and find out!! :)

I fell in love with this book as soon as I finished the first chapter, and it has kept me laughing every time I re-read it. It is a definite pick-me-up kind of book. It’s a 4.5/5 from me!

Hollywood Homecoming is an amazing story. This is the first book in the series that I have read but I was not lost like I thought I would be. I loved every page and I wanted more when it was over. I decided I was going to read the first two books. But this book is about Helen and Helen loves her life. She has an awesome family and nieces and nephews she loves. Helen also has an awesome job she is a make up artist for Hollywood and she loves her job. There is only one thing missing from Helen's life and that is love. She does not have a man and that is okay because Helen's heart belongs to someone and she refuses to give it to anyone else beside him.

See she has been in love with Joseph since she was a teen. She loves everything about him but she has never told him how much he means to her. She has kept it a secret and because she has never told anyone how she feels about Joseph. Then Joseph leaves to be a doctor in Africa and has been gone for two years. For two years she has tried to get over him but she can't. Then Joseph comes back for the wedding and all her feelings come flooding back for him.

Joseph has become a doctor and has decided he will be a traveling doctor and go to Africa to help the people out there. But when Joseph returns home for the wedding he realizes he has missed so much of his families lives. He has missed birthdays, holidays, and everything in between. He also realizes that he has missed the one special girl that makes his day when he reads her letters. When he sees his special girl his hearts starts to race and he realizes he better say something soon because he may lose her to someone else.

Can Joseph and Helen be together? Will they tell each other how they really feel about each other?

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is the first time I have read anything from this author and after reading Hollywood Homecoming I will definitely have to go read the other books in this series. I loved the look of the cover and also the description of the book, so I had to say yes when asked to review this book.
This story follows Helen and how she has felt about Joseph. Helen has always had a crush on Joseph throughout her teenage years and now he has become a Doctor, they have kept in touch through correspondence because he has been practicing in a different country. When their parents decide to meet and Joseph and Helen meet again her feelings start to be harder to keep showing as just a "friendship" type; little did she know that he has had feelings for her too. Both have kept secrets do you think that their feelings will overcome their secrets?

The author has provided the readers with a well-balanced characters mixed with romance and including a possibility at a happily ever after type ending. Ms. Sasha Summers writing keeps you wanting to keep reading all the way into the early morning (I know I did) and her characters are very unique in their own ways. I loved Helen, she was strong and honest for everyone but still had the sarcasm that mad you laugh. Joseph is a handsome, smart, and has a huge heart. Many series you tend to have to read from book one and forward or you become lost, I felt that with this series you are able to read it separately or in order and with what I have seen in this book I will be getting the other two being in my future to read, I would recommend these books to everyone especially if you love sweet romances with a touch of humor.

I was drawn into this series against my will! It's not my usual cup of tea. Helen ( our soft hearted heroine ) just gets inside your heart.
It's a beautiful story that has such a range if emotional intensity. You will want to have chocolate , tissues, and someone to cuddle up next to after reading this book!
I planned on just reading this book for the blog tour. That became impossible. I had to know how it all started and ended up reading books 1&2 and then intensely enjoying book 3!
This is a lovely book with characters that you can imagine clear as day. This series guaranteed that I will be seeking out the prequel series as well as any future projects!

This well-paced contemporary romance is a prime read. I'm a sucker for series fiction and in this third Red Carpet novel we get the best of Josh and Clarie (Hollywood Ever After), as well as Gunner and Jenny (Hollywood Holiday) as their relationships intertwine with the budding romance between Josh's sister, Helen, and Claire's brother, Joe.

Helen's admired Joe from afar for years. Now he's moved to LA and wants to make Helen the center of his world, yet one medical scare after another forces her to push Joe away. Having his love is all she ever dreamed of, but she's afraid he's only sticking beside her out of convenience, or worse...honor.

And, having their family's blessing is only adding to the pressure.

Helen's a pure spirit and her love for family is truly all-encompassing. It's impossible not to root for her, in spite of her predicament. Add in the love triangle--competition for her affection by Jenny's co-star, Chris, only magnifies the tension.

Honestly, I wanted to be right there, holding Helen's hand, telling her it was all going to be okay. And I'll be a liar if I didn't say I wanted to reach through the pages and hug her at that terrible moment she experienced at the airport, praying Joe would come back.

Summers weaves some delightful romance. Not too nitty-gritty-down-and-dirty, but readers will feel the heart in the scenes.

Once again Sasha has made me giddy with joy. This book made me swoon and fall in love all over again.
Helen has been pining over Joseph since she first laid eyes on him 5 years ago. After spending so many years completely in love with him, she finally decided enough was enough and she was over him. Her heart as other ideas.
One night while she was babysitting, Joe shows up while she is having a dance off with Will. The minute she sees him she begin an inner war over being over him or not. Who can blame her when he is described as "He was still a solid six foot four, broad and lean. His warm brown eyes were so gentle and soulful, deep and witty." Helen's brother Josh and Joe's sister Claire decide to have Joe stay with Helen since she is single and lives alone. Soon enough Helen is reminded of all the reasons she fell for him in the first place.
While Joe was in Africa, they were writing back and forth and had decided to pretend to be dated so that Helen would not have to worry about men she did not want anything to do with. After a children's dance recital, Helen is confronted with Chris who can't seem to get a hint. Joe and Helen make a show of showing Chris that she is off the market and all his.
With the wedding around the corner, Helen is a bit freaked out because she has been sick for months. The day of the wedding she goes to see a doctor to confirm her worst fear. As Joe and Helen quickly grow closer and start to fall for one another, she confides in him about her health issues. Joe being a doctor asks Helen if he can go with her to her doctor appointment. Helen never expects the news she receives.
As Helen is adjusting to all the new changes in her life, Joe has to go back to Africa. Helen is left to break the news of her new life to her dad and step-mom alone when the unimaginable happens.
This book was incredible. I love all the characters; especially Joe. Joe is so funny and adorable. I love that he blushes and is just so stinking cute. He is so passionate. He didn't let ANYTHING stand between him and what/who he wanted. I could go on all day long about how amazing he is. From the very first book Helen's character was strong. She is compassionate and loving and everyone is drawn to her. When all hell breaks loose she is still just as selfless and doesn't let it tear her to pieces. I recommend this book to everyone who loves a sweet romance and just enough heartbreak to make you keep turning the pages.

Honestly I hadn't heard of this author or series until I got an email to sign up for the tour. After reading the synopsis of all 3 books I decided to sign up right away. So glad I did!

I'll admit that I was a little nervous about the "Hollywood" aspect overshadowing the actual story. I was afraid it was just going to be another book about paparazzi, suspected cheating with co-stars and just a bunch of your typical "fame" drama. It wasn't like that at all.

After reading the first two books in the series I couldn't wait to read more. I'm still having trouble deciding which book is my favorite because I pretty much love each and every character and each of their stories. One of my favorite things about this series is how all the characters show up in each others stories, not in minor ways like you sometimes see in other series but in a way that you get to see how closely knit they all are.

Even though there is a bit of insta-love involved it wasn't too overboard for my taste. I enjoyed reading about Helen's past crush on Joseph and how she's pined over him since she was 18. The story started off simply enough but then slowly the author began to weave in twists and surprises that I didn't really see coming. I was really happy with the direction she took with Joseph's reaction to what Helen was dealing with and how he helped her deal with the reaction from her family. Towards the end there is another surprise thrown in there that gave the story just a perfect element of suspense.

This book (the whole series really) was very well-written and perfect for a relaxing weekend read. I'm hoping that this won't be the final installment...I'd really like to read Natalie's story.

I took a risk and started with the final book in the series. I guess I don’t believe in the adage: Save The Best For Last – because reading the blurb, I knew I had to read this first.
I love stories of love and second chances.

Hollywood Homecoming is Helen’s story. She had watched other members of her family fell in love and found their partners. Oh she’s happy for them – but deep inside, she’s single and alone, secretly pinning for someone who is a thousand of miles away from her.

Joseph is a doctor who is off to save the world. They have been exchanging letters for years, trying to be a ‘friend’ to him and hoping he wouldn’t notice how she feels about him. He is her best friend and her someone who got away. But writing letters is totally different from seeing him face to face at their parents’ wedding made Helen realize that her feelings remain the same.

When Joseph once again saw Helen – he was mesmerized. On the contrary, she was never out of his system. He just knew he would do anything to have her. Their past choices may have drifted them apart, but Joseph is willing to take the risk.
I love the characters – especially Helen, she’s everything rolled into one: smart, pretty and a woman of the world. She loves fiercely, intensely and is totally loyal. She and Joseph are just perfect and really meant for each other. Hollywood Homecoming is romance at its finest.

I have adored this entire series and it made me giddy to know that Josh's little sister was going to be the focus in this book. Sasha Summers did not disappoint in giving the always lovably, quirky, funny Helen a slow building romance with her teenage crush, Dr. Joseph Foster.

Helen and Joe balanced each other perfectly. They managed to calm the other, in different ways, that made them reach for their future...regardless of what may have been in the past. Helen may have had a harder time realizing that it was OK for her to show her feeling for Joe, especially after he admitted he felt the same way, but her heart knew what it wanted, it just took a little bit to convince her brain (which Joe did a really good job of convincing).

I loved how Helen and Joe's families (since there seemed to be a rash of one marrying into the other) stood by to support both of them...even down to Claire and Josh's oldest kids. They never judged. They were always right there to support one or both of them and make sure they knew they would always have their back(s).

A fabulous, fabulous series and a great story to round out the older characters. I would love to see some kind of story for Natalie and/or Will down the line, but if the series were to end today, it ended on the best possible note.

The Reviewer's Thoughts.....

A clear story line following the life of a makeup artist, Helen. The story plays around a family wedding, where the girl goes through many emotions - from happiness to a new found love. From fear of having cancer to the fear and exhuberation of pregnancy.

Helen had created a life for herself in which she had kept all men at bay by putting up her penfriend Dr. Joseph as a candidate of her love life. From the age of eighteen, Helen had harbored a crush on this guy. When he left for Africa, she had corresponded with him and had spread everywhere that he was her boyfriend. When Joseph comes back, they fall into an easy friendship which blossoms into a beautiful love story.

From the beginning of the sory, Helen has not been feeling well. While she feared that it was breast cancer but after only one night of wild passion, she finds out that she is pregnant. Now, even in this jet age that is impossible J So who could the father be? How does Joseph react to that? Read this beautifully spun tale of love and family ties – Hollywood Homecoming by Sasha Summers.

I loved this book! The conclusion to the Red Carpet Series by Sasha Summers left me wanting this series and the characters to continue to live on.

The heroine, Helen (sister to Josh, the hero from the first book) is surprised when her heartthrob crush Joseph is back in California for his mom's wedding...to Helen's dad. He's older now, and so serious from his time spent working as a doctor in a third world country...and he's even more devastatingly handsome. He needs a place to stay, her roommate is on tour, so what else can she do but offer him the extra room in her apartment?

Still drawn to him, she thinks he may like her...but the results of a health scare leave her in a life-changing position. Will he leave her to deal on her own? Or stand by her, no matter what the consequences.

Sasha Summers has once again written a love story that will make you laugh, cry, and sigh. Each book quickly becomes my favorite as I read it. They are definitely books I will read over and over again. I highly recommend that you read the series and fall in love along with Helen and Joe (and Claire & Josh from Book 1, and Jen & Gunner from Book 2!).

Hollywood Homecoming is the third book in Sasha Summers’ Red Carpet Trilogy and features Helen and Joseph. Helen is Josh's sister and we met him in book one. Joseph is Claire's brother and she married Josh in book one. To make things even more incestuous they have all gathered together because Helen and Josh's father is marrying Claire and Joseph's mother.

Helen has had a huge crush on Joseph since she met him. They've been pen pals for two years while Joseph has been in Africa working at Doctors Without Borders facility. Lots of things happen once they are together that made this my favorite book of the trilogy. As Helen and Joe open up with each other they realize exactly how much they care about each other. Helen's insecurities will have to take a chance if she wants the reach her HEA.

This book, as well as the entire series, was well-written and perfect for a relaxing weekend read. I had pretty low expectations when I started this series and was very pleasantly surprised to be wrong.

This was not exactly what I expected when I started reading this book. It is what is sounds like and it really isn't. It's so much more. Helen had an unrequited love for Joseph for so long and she never thought that he may feel anything for her at all, so she gave him up. Relegated him to friend status, and tried to move past it. And that may have worked for her if he hadn't shown up for their parents wedding. Then one thing leads to another, and he's there for her in ways she only dreamed of. She tries to push him away, but wants him too much to let him go. That's when everything changes and it's fantastic. Joseph loves her, wants her, but has to do one thing; and that's when things go so wrong. Sasha definitely know how to write a great book. This one I really couldn't put down because there was so much going on. I'll have to go back and find the first two books in the series and find out how this all started.

I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Even though its almost one week i have finished this book, now only i got some time to post a review for this book....
and i was the thinking to do the same from the day i completed the reading!! I enjoyed and loved reading this series...the first one was one of my favorites but i missed the second book...Jen and Gunner's! And when this one released and was a surprise for me as i was not expecting it, i just could not wait to read this!! And what a wonderful read it was....a fairy tale kind romance....with a sweet and lovely heroine..Helen!! I adored her and Joseph was also awesome but, would have to loved to read what he was thinking!! That was the only problem for me...i always want...both character's point of view!! But still, it was an entertaining read....and so many happy characters...not one negative character in the book, that was the wonderful part!!
I hope Ms. Summers has not finished with the series...i need a story for Natalie...please!!

Helen was always in love with Joseph . She had given up hope when he left for Africa. She tried to convince herself that she was truly over him. That is until Joseph came home and their attraction ignited. In the end, they loved each other enough to give their hearts to each other!
