Detective Rafe Riguerez is looking for a murderer after a ranger is found dead in a burned out cabin on the Mt. Alexa game preserve. All signs point to one suspect and when Rafe goes looking for his perp, he ends up bitten, naked, and hanging chained from the ceiling. He fits the unearthly pleasures he feels, swearing he’s been drugged to react the way he is.

Ty will do anything to protect his family. As pack leader, he’d lay down his life before he’d let an insider come and hurt one of his own. But when the intruder he catches on pack land ends up being a cop, looking for his brother’s mate, he’s torn on how to handle the situation. He ends up letting his animal instinct take over and thinks with his other head for a change.

When Rafe finally has the chance to get away, he runs as fast as he can, hoping to clear his mind. Yet he can’t stop thinking of the devilishly handsome werewolf and what that shifter did to his mind, body, and spirit—and has to decide if he will accept his place in that world.

Rafe's Wolf was a quick read for me. The book started off so well with the potentials of Ty and Rafe, the chemistry was abundant there that it likely exploded to my face when Ty dominated Rafe. I liked Ty, he's controversial but soft when it comes to Rafe, his mate.

Like for the first book of the series, I have to start this review with a warning: this is not a book for anyone with triggers around non-consent. This sequel is also about a werewolf claiming a human, but this one is even more demanding than Hank (his younger brother) in the fist volume and is looking for a real BDSM relationship, including the title Master.

Needless to say, this does not go well for Ty, the alpha of their pack and the eldest of the four brothers. His mate is the cop investigating the murder from book one, initially believing Remy to be somehow involved. As demanding as Ty is, he quickly finds out that a forced submission is not what he's looking for. I began to develop some respect for him when he backed off, and left the choice to Rafe. That wasn't easy for Ty to do, and he kept doubting himself, but he managed to stick with it. Major points for Ty!

Rafe may be a tough cop, and he is very good at his job, but deep inside he yearns to submit to someone stronger than himself. He never expected that to be a man, never mind a werewolf, and, oh yeah, he's pretty certain Ty fed him some drugs. It's an easy "out" for him, but as time passes he has to admit it can't explain his burning need to be with Ty again. The real mental work he has to complete lies in the reconciliation of who he is in his job versus the type of man he wants to be in the bedroom, or rather the playroom, with Ty. Only then is he able to consider some sort of a longer-term relationship.

If you like rough werewolf love with a healthy dose of D/s, if you enjoy reading about men who need to figure out how to compromise after accepting that it's not a dirty word, and if you're looking for a read with lots of kinky man-on-man action, you will probably like this short book.

I definitely like this series but one thing I don't like is the endings. I can't stand how they all end with the relationship being at a standstill. There Is no Love or mention of emotions. I feel like all the matings are built on pure lust and physical need. I don't believe lust is all that is required for a successful Mating. Even when the Previous mated couple, Hank and Remy pop up in this book when Rafe goes to Remy for advice, Remy describes his feelings as a need not abt mention of his heart. Hank overheArd and responds with the same physical need. Part of the reason we as readers love the mating books is because the concept of a Soulmates is so appealing. I mean how do you not fall in love with the person Fate chose for you? I am pretty good at reading between the lines but I don't think I'm missing something. ..
