If you want to master the people component of your business, you have to build an intentional culture—EOS can help you do that.
The second installment of the Traction Library’s “Deep Dive Collection,” People gives readers all the tools they need to create a thriving workplace culture, and shows why it’s an absolutely essential part of any successful business.
Many entrepreneurs struggle with people issues in their business: “hit-or-miss” hiring, flagging productivity, infighting, employees in positions that aren’t suited for their strengths, or an inability to attract and retain good candidates. These are just some of the symptoms of a haphazard company culture, and they won’t go away on their own—you have to have the courage to build an intentional culture.
Using the proven EOS heart-centered leadership approach, readers will learn how to: • Identify and implement your company’s core values • Adopt healthy cultural habits without overcomplicating things • Attract, hire, and retain the right people
Creating an intentional culture isn’t optional—it’s crucial to ensuring the future of your business and improving the quality of your life. People will teach entrepreneurs how to get their employees on board and on the same page for a culture overhaul, eventually getting to the point where the intentional culture self-perpetuates.
This isn’t a one-time fix; building an intentional culture requires tending. But this book will provide readers with the framework to prevent many problems before they start, and to solve problems in a way that gets to the root of the issue, driving growth in both your business and your people themselves.

4.5⭐️ Another work read but honestly this one had me closing it out of shock and feeling personally attacked in some parts. I felt like a lot of it was relevant to the company and the place we are currently at so I’m excited to see what comes of it when we start implementing
Both EOS Mastery books (Process is the other) have disappointed. Instead of expanding on an amazing system that is EOS, these books just repeat the material and provide overview of EOS. Really wish these did deep dives to help Integrators improve their EOS to best in class
My rating system is as follows: 1 - Stopped reading before completing as didn't intrigue me enough (therefore rating incomplete) 2 - Completed reading but did not enjoy 3 - Enjoyed but not enough to want to keep on bookshelf 4 - Enjoyed and want to keep on bookshelf 5 - I'm actively telling people how great this book is!
I have been helping companies implement EOS for more than 15 years now. I have read all the books in the EOS library. Having just finished the latest book in the EOS Mastery series - “PEOPLE - Dare to build an Intentional Culture” by Mark O'Donnell, Kelly Jones- Knight and CJ DuBe, I believe it to be a great summary of how EOS helps with every company’s most vexing problems - which always are centered around people. It also masterfully ties together the whole Travtion library and offers pointers to the other books as appropriate. Kudos to the three of you. I am honored to be your friend and colleague
Another book for work book club. There were some good principles written in the book about not having a scarcity mindset and ensuring that your team members are in the right seat, the right person, follow the core values, and get the job, want the job, and have capacity for the job. There wasn't anything I felt like I could takeaway and implement into my work. Also it seems like the book is emphasizing a "cult-like culture".
Good overview of why getting a great team matters and how to evaluate your team using the EOS tools.
There's nothing new here. And this isn't the best version of some of these ideas that I've read. (The book is full of quotes from other authors who said it previously.) But it's true and it's also concise (so it's a quick read).
If you've read some Patrick Lencioni and Jim Collins, and are familiar with EOS, then you can skip this book. Not that it's bad, it just very derivative and won't add much that you haven't already learned.
Another great addition to the EOS library. This volume focuses on the most complex and important aspect of any business. It reviews and expands on the tools from Traction as well as How to be a Great Boss while also introducing new concepts, tools and language. Highly, highly recommend!
The people on your team have to meet your companies core values or your long term success will be hurt. Make the sacrifice, only hire to your core values, and see what a group of people running the same direction can do.
I appreciate the EOS model. I’ve learned so much as a result of their work. That said, this book is nothing new. It’s mostly repurposed material with a different vantage point.
