As a binge drinker I wouldn't classify myself as an alcoholic as Meredith certainly was, more of a "problem" drinker. Nevertheless, I found an awful lot in Seven days Sober that helped me a lot, the bulk of this being reassurance that I'm not the only person on the planet with this problems and guess what, her fears and excuses have a strong correspondance to mine.
The book is very well written and entertaining, good to read even if you're not trying to kick the booze yourself. As I am though, I found Seven Days Sober a massive confidence boost in my quest to stop drinking as well as a great comfoter.
Amazing read. Very highly recommended to me and I'm passing that recommendation to others. I was very impressed with the layout and genuine nature of the text.
This is a wonderful book for anyone who has ever been even remotely curious as to if they should cut back on their drinking. I would not consider myself a raging alcoholic, but more of a binge drinker & I still found tons of value in this book. I especially enjoyed the list of sober suggestions at the end
Meredith Bell is like a good friend who can take you by the hand and help remind you of all the things you don't like about your drinking. Then she very kindly helps you decide if you truly want to stop. But she leaves it up to you . . . as any good friend would. Excellent read.
