Sorry but I tried honest, to like the book (heck I liked the idea of food and crepe sounded tasty) but nope it really was an awfully written book. I couldn't really feel for any of the characters. Not to mention so much was happening in only 5 hrs and 13 min. Sorry
Elizabeth Perkins has a problem: the man reviewing her specialty crepe restaurant has dropped dead after being mysteriously poisoned. When the town begins avoiding her store, Libby sets off to find out who killed Andrew Poulter, a polarising food critic, before her business dies with him.
A Crepe to Die For is just what it says on the tin: a cozy small-town mystery. It's tightly written for the most part, the plot feels rushed in the third act but it still ends up feeling sweet by the end.
A Crepe to Die For by Felicity Collins is an engaging and cosy small-town mystery thriller with an absolutely unexpected twist. I loved how the author made you suspect everyone and then just dropped the bomb! Clever! Really clever!
Libby, the owner of the crepe restaurant Suzette, thinks that surviving food critic Andrew Poulter's visit is the worst possible thing. She is so wrong because the worst thing is Andrew Poulter dying from food poisoning after visiting her restaurant! Was it an accident or someone is after him? Or her?
Wow, this was a very engaging short cozy mystery read. The audiobook was even more enjoyable. It's unputdownable and it kept me guessing who the killer really is. At first, I thought I knew for sure who it might be because of the very clear motive of one of the characters, but as the story progressed, I got confused and started suspecting everyone in town lol
Read for a challenge (5 words in title) via Audio.
Was a good cozy mystery. Its not ground breaking stuff and i didnt drop my jaw at any of the reveals but i equally didnt roll my eyes either. So id say middle of the pack 3 stars is fair.
I think this is the first cozy thriller I ever read. I didn’t even know such a genre existed. It was unexpectedly good. So many twists in the story that it kept me interested until the end.
