If you want a short biography of Pandit Ravi Shankar, the sitarist, then this is good book for you from the vantage point of his daughter, Anoushka Shankar.
It is a short read and summarizes what could be a voluminous account of the musician's life.
However, it gives a family account of the icon. In many cases, you will read about people from only the perspective of the outside world and their performances or their work with other musicians.
This is a family perspective and it is nice to get that glimpse into the other areas that we often don't see. There are also many rare photographs.
I, personally, have found that a common theme among many geniuses is their ability to make jokes and have fun. I remember attending a Ravi Shankar concert when I was young and hearing his humour in the explanation of the ragas and talas. I remember thinking, at that time, that this person was amazing to connect with the audience on something so advanced as Hindustani music and its intricacies.
