Ageha

Oh Ageha~ ♡♡♡

He finally decides to give his approval to Tatara and chooses to avidly stand by her side. She sees what being by her side actually entails, sacrificing and protecting her with his whole being. She is overcome with great anguish for the choices he makes to keep her safe.

He tells Asagi to wholeheartedly protect her and watch out for her. It's so warm, sweet, and gentle. This is what I remembered feeling from his volume.

Before her mission, she tells her crew her identity. They continue to rally with her and follow her leadership. Both Sarasa and Shuri turns a year older, she 16, he 18. And he is maturing with level headedness and humility. His soldiers see him as less impulsive and quick to anger.

Thrown into the North underground prison, she sees the Red King's cousin with his face. How will they escape?

Synopsis:

After working together to save Okinawa from invasion, responsibility separates Sarasa and Shuri. Although the revelation of her true gender has not lost Sarasa her closest allies, a horrifying message from Tatara's envoys to the north has left her in shock.

My Thoughts:

After discovering what happened to Hayato and Shota, Sarasa, Ageha, Asagi and Nachi head to Kazuno to find out what became of Hayato. That is definitely not an easy place to be, but if Sarasa can convince them to ally with her, they would make some really great allies. I don't know if the people of Kazuno want that, though. Unfortunately, they end up throwing Sarasa, Ageha and Asagi into prison, but Nachi and Muratake are on their trail.

The prison isn't an easy place to be, especially with Sarasa being the only woman, though right now, she's still passing as a boy. In order to keep her safe, Ageha lets himself be used. Sarasa feels terrible about it, but Ageha believes it wouldn't hurt to have some of the prisoners on their side.

Meanwhile, Shuri is working to take his city back and meets with someone that he believes can help him. That meeting has shown just how much he's grown. That time in Okinawa was good for him. I think loving Sarasa has been good for him, too. I just wish he didn't feel the need to be a dictator. He did tell Yuna that he wants to make Sarasa happy, so he believes that is love. Mostly, he just wants what he wants and what he wants is Sarasa.

Back in the prison, things aren't looking so good for Sarasa. Someone just tried to strangle her, but why? She's been found, but what will happen to her now?

Basara may just be the best manga I've ever read - I am completely hooked. This volume was so great! The list of reasons why I love Ageha just keeps growing - reason #72: lots of men will fight to protect a woman, but it's a rare man that will offer himself up to be gang-raped by prisoners to protect a woman. I got tears in my eyes when he told Sarasa to close her eyes and cover her ears so she wouldn't have to watch. Ageha may have his dark edges, and a shady past, but he's a truly heroic character in every way; his odd mannerisms and habits just make him all the more mysterious, like a real superhero or something, only way more believable. Yeah, I'm really hung up on Ageha! Sarasa was brave as well, trying to protect Ageha by offering herself to the warden; I'm glad she got away though, her character is too straightforward to be complicated that way, especially with so many other problems twisting her into an emotional pretzel. Sarasa, Ageha and Asagi's descent through the bowels of the prison to rescue Hayato was really quite the epic adventure, very reminiscent of numerous myths in which the hero descends into the underworld to rescue a loved one or comrade. Really great book, really phenomenal series!

Nah inilah jadinya kalau seseorang seperti saya mementingkan cover diatas segalanya.

OMFG OMFG Sarasa kembali dalam bahaya .....

Dan Ageha ... Ageha I lve you <3

Demi menyelamatkan teman mereka, mereka malah masuk lubang buaya.

*Original Review from Jan 2022:

I don't have much to say about this volume. I liked that it expanded on the relationship between Sarasa and Ageha a little bit. It was also interesting to see Ageha telling Asagi that he needs to start "getting serious about protecting" her and I can't wait to see how he develops as the story goes on.
