4.5 stars. The culmination of one part of the story, which was awesome but difficult. The beginning of the second half that starts out sad but resigned. Oh, Sarasa and Shuri!

My Thoughts:
This volume was hard to read! We've reached that point! The inevitable has happened and the aftermath is not so good for Sarasa and Shuri. Both of them seem to have taken this extremely hard. Sarasa retreats deep into herself and Shuri nearly kills himself. Ageha tries his hardest to snap Sarasa out of it and damn near gives up on her. He leaves her on Mt. Fuji, but when she's attacked by bandits attempting to rape her, she kills them all. She comes across some kind of wizard and makes her way to the north. It seems, she hasn't completely given up.
Meanwhile, Asagi has rescued Shuri and seems to be taking him somewhere. Shuri doesn't seem ready to rejoin the world. Asagi seems to feel that Shuri's death isn't good enough to end in suicide. What will he do to convince Shuri to carry on? Does he still want to be the one to kill him? I still don't quite get why he wants Shuri dead so badly, but I guess Asagi has his own reasons.
Sarasa is now in the North and it seems she's been fighting against the Black King on the side of Kazuno. I think Ageha is also fighting. What does she hope to accomplish up there all on her own? She's met some nice people and I'm worried she'll get her heart broken again, but after the shock of what happened with Shuri, nothing could be so bad now, right?
They give themselves to each other and then the next day they meet on the battle field. Both went into complete shock ~ white noise, can't hear, can't see, can't feel.
Ageha picks her up and drops her off in the mountainous Fuji area to recover from her heartbreak. She meets a hermit who tells her to head north. Her Team continues to battle in her name as Hayato poses as her while she infiltrates the White Kingdom.
Bit of a "fucking finally!" moment where Sarasa and Shuri finally find out each other's identities. Not that it was a bad thing that it look this long for it to happen. I look forward to seeing where everything goes from here.
I’m struggling to find you who I cannot see I’m struggling to find you who I cannot hear
In that space where memories linger Still as warm on my fingertips You are here Your scent, your face
Please, look at me I can feel you, like this Struggling to catch your expressions Struggling to catch your smiles
You, who I struggled to understand In the place where we were together In the moment where I resembled you When it felt too good being soaked in the rain You are gone
How am I supposed to erase you alone and live In those moments where we once walked together Like that, the things we made beside each other Even the memories, even those regrets
Lingered there with me, missing you so much How am I supposed to erase you alone and live When I miss you so much
Your name, which I was barely allowed to speak, can’t be erased My name, only used by you, is asleep here
In the place where we were together In those moments where we could’ve walked together I’m holding onto myself alone In this place, even our future, my wishes have stopped I’m standing here and you are gone I miss you so much
Nah inilah jadinya kalau seseorang seperti saya mementingkan cover diatas segalanya.
#Program BUBU ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Akhirnya di tengah medan perang, Sarasa mengetahui bahwa Shuri adalah Raja Merah, dan Shuri pun mengetahui bahwa Sarasa adalah Tatara! Padahal semalam mereka baru saja melewatkan malam bersama... Jadi, bagaimana dong lanjutannya? Malah bersambung lagi...
In every good long manga series there is a volume later in the story that is a reward for sticking with one series for such a long time. In case of Basara, this is such a volume. And something tells me it might not be the last one.
