I have always been interested in hearing everyone's individual story and experiences. Because of this, and my reprieve from daily life always comes from writing stories and exploring the lives of my characters. When I write I feel that I am living alongside my characters; battling their demons, mending broken hearts, and relishing in successes and love.

An absolutely wonderful book, definitely worth the read!
My collected updates along the way:
- So far a lovely read, great writing style, and the descriptions really makes the time period come alive :)
- Finished the first story, which was absolutely lovely. I especially love the idea of the portrait series, and the whole exposition of the paintings.
- Started the second story, and was utterly fascinated by the fact that there were several pages without any direct speechw hile still conveying the feeling like it had been there.
- Oh boy, high school stories are always the ones that draw me in and then come back to haunt me. Poor Daniel!
- The whole story from Daniel's point of view is so achingly well-written, beautiful!
- Oh wow, Daniel's story is so utterly well-written, and really pulls your heart strings.
- And such a heart-wrenching yet beautiful ending to Daniel's story. Now off to read the final short story in the book.
- And the final story was very lovely as well, again so well-written, and I loved the characters. Really wonderful book :)

Even though they are not awful, these three stories left me rather cold.
Writing outlines clear characters and situations but fails to bring life to them. Worse than that, Ms Waters' characters feel like they belong in a modern gay morality play, taking a path because it is the "right thing" to do, not because they have grown into that decision.

Sex scenes are explicit but a bit mechanical and quite boring.

It was a wonderful read. The short stories were touching, down to earth and easy to understand and relate to. I will be rereading this book again in the near future as one of the stories hits very close to home and it helps to read about someone who's going through similar things.

And I am hopeful that more short and long stories will be published.

Wonderful book! If you feel like having few good stories near by to warm you up on a cold day or take with you on a trip I recommend this piece a lot! Catching, emotional storyline and biter-sweet love.

Three warm, romantic tales of love. The cover story, about Daniel and Zachary, is particularly wrenching and satisfying. Lots of delicious hurt/comfort, mmmm.
