I felt so validated reading this book! "Fancy" homeschooling just doesn't work for us and I've done some extreme simplifying, but I always feel like I'm just taking the easy way out compared to so many of my homeschooling friends. Tamara covered most of the things we've done or considered and explained why it works better that way anyways...SO encouraging!!

Reassurance

I was in a tough spot today and wondering what I am even doing with this homeschooling adventure we're on and this book reiterated what I had read a while back and kept tucked in my mind.... that it can be done, we don't have to do it all at once and we can have fun while doing it. It's seriously like a pep talk or a pat on the back and it came at just the right time. Thank you.

It was ok but it read more like a how to homeschool or just general homeschool tips. It wasn't necessarily about simplifying in my opinion.

This was a simple and fun read

As homeschool moms know time is of the essence. This book reinforced for me that what I was doing as a parent and as an educator was meaningful. I also learned to give myself permission to be something else than mom, teacher, friend, Christian and wife. I'm enjoying learning again for my interests and not just those of my family. Did I mention all the amazing resources and ideas the author leaves you with as she narrates the trials and tribulations we face with our children as home educators? A wealth of information as well as encouragement in a very concise read.

So many great ideas! I especially liked the tips on extending the learning while in the car. Also, the section on color with learning was eye-opening! I had never considered this but I will now. Many sections in this book motivated me to take a good long hard look with my planning for the upcoming term and make sure I do not overschedule too much in a day. Thank you for offering it for free for a short while. I know I will refer back to this over and over again. I also look forward to checking out your website.

While they aren’t comprehensive how-to guides,Simplify Your Homeschool Day and Grace for the Homeschool Mom are perfect for homeschool moms who basically know what they are about but need some encouragement. If you’re looking for a little bit of a mid-year pep talk, Tamara Chilver’s books may be just the thing.

Clever marketing...the book was not what I expected based on the title. That gripe aside, it was a quick read with many great tips. I will definitely reference a few sections.

This book really didn't offer ME a lot of insight. Maybe I'm already a "simplified" person, so these tactics weren't anything new. I'm sure it'll help some though! :)

A couple decent takeaways, but not much for original or thorough information.
