This was one of the best Vampirella Archive volumes so far. This one had several long form, near full issue Vampirella stories rather than the short lead story with the back up stories. I usually like the back up stories fine, but the longer Vampirella stories really worked well. At times the art is a little ridiculous as Vampirella is drawn sexy as hell, but in several stories it looks like she's just striking sexy poses in the midst of the storytelling which comes across a little silly. Some of the non Vampirella stories weren't the best either. Even with the minor issues, this was a strong volume from a really cool series.
Dark Horse reprinted all the stories that Richard Corben illustrated for Creepy and Eerie, but as far as I know, Dynamite has never printed a collection of Corben's work on Vampirella. Vampirella Archives Volume Five contains most of Corben's Vampirella work, however, Vampirella Archives Volume Eight does have one classic collaboration between Corben and writer Jan Strnad, "Bowser", which first appeared in Vampirella #54. Other highlights in this collection include Vampirella feature stories drawn by guest artists Howard Chaykin and Jeff Jones.
