About the author

Much of my work has involved research into blood coagulation proteins and the use of immunological technology in drug development. I am a Ph.D. Professor of Pathology and do a great deal of Pathology teaching in the Medical and Dental Schools of UNC at Chapel Hill.
I discovered that I enjoy writing and editing of textbooks at both the graduate and undergraduate level. (This is helped by the fact that my wife Emily is both a Ph.D. Pathologist and a professional scientific editor). Emily and I are now co-authoring a textbook which we hope will be ready for Fall 2014.
For fun I enjoy reading fantasy and books about religion. Currently I am reading several of Geza Vermes' last books and have a long additional list of fiction to get to (when I catch up on writing!)
