Never read an author that sucked his own dick so well 😂 (am I allowed to say that in a book review?) but seriously though if you can get past his persistent compliments to himself and him selling his own consulting company then there are some GREAT suggestions for anyone trying to open their own consulting company. Also the author claims he has written more books on consulting then anyone else (something like 50+) but I've read 3 of them: million dollar consulting, consulting bible, and million dollar launch. And they're the EXACT. SAME. BOOK. Just rephrased. So I'm going to assume all his other books are the exact same thing.
(This will be my same review for the other 2 books I read since they were the exact same)
Mine your contact list to give up their contacts to give up their contacts to give up their contacts to create a pull where people seek you out for your expertise. It makes sense. It might be right. The Tony Robbins path worked for Tony Robbins. This posits that everything is sales. Everything is marketing. And I think you have to believe that for this book to work. It's creating the critical mass that matters. You are the product to sell. It's all who you know.
And that might be right. More people make it by glad handing and golfing than by working hard in a cubicle. Is creating a cult of personality going to work for you? If it does, does it raise the level of the game, or are you simply adding to the noise drown the unwashed masses in your personal brand? Do you want to be Tony Robbins or Elon Musk? Both are valid, but this one pushes hard in one direction.
The main idea behind this book is to create market gravity so that your customers come to you. The book goes into a little more detail on how exactly to do this within a consulting firm setting as well as other steps involved in the process. But this is a book for someone who has a niche and has a claim to expertise in a certain area.
This makes everything at the beginning so clear, I followed the advice and read it twice before beginning to implement and it is great! It won't make you a million in 90 days, but it Definately shortens the time that was spent on trying to figure it out.
