Three Great Techniques for Plotting Your Novel or Screenplay

Rate this book
If you were to take a poll of aspiring writers, probably their biggest worry would not be how to write life-like dialogue, create convincing characters, or give great description. Rather, it would be how to come up with a good plot.

And it's an understandable concern. Certainly, when you're writing for the popular market, the plot is the single most important aspect of any work you create.

Want proof? Then just look at how books and movies are sold - nine times out of ten, it's with a quick summary of the plot. Yes, your novel or screenplay will need other ingredients such as interesting characters and snappy dialogue as well - but unless you can come up with a good plot idea, your story will be dead in the water .

The ability to create a compelling plot is essential for any writer who hopes to write for the popular market - and yet for many writers, plotting doesn't come naturally.

This no-fluff mini-guide therefore sets out three powerful techniques you can use to generate all the plot ideas you need (and more) to turn out a stream of successful short stories, novels and screenplays!

The techniques can be used individually or - for even greater impact and originality - by combining two or all three of them. Examples are included throughout.

If you're a writer or aspiring writer, this low-cost, easy-to-read guide will add a suite of powerful plotting tools to your fiction and screenwriting armory.

Concise. It could work as a good introduction for people with no writing experience whatsoever. But as the author himself points out, the material is covered at length in other books. If you've already learned the basics of plotting, you won't need to read this.
