As with several of Dr. Marzano's book, this one contains large portions which are somewhat dense and require attention from the reader. From my perspective, this is not a read for the average practitioner. The developmental scale reminds me of CBAM - Innovating, Applying , Developing, Beginning and Not Using and I like it as a way to think about teacher practice. The framework is extensive and provides lots of opportunity for a variety of skills, practices and understandings to be observed.
