A superbly written story that’s easy to read as well as excellent page turner it has great characters. This book is full of action, suspense, thrills and intrigue and it has a steamy romantic happily ever after ending.
A son of a mafia family watches as his father takes his last breath. He vows to kill the man responsible but not before he makes an alliance with him to get his resources. He comes up with a plan to kidnap the daughter of the rival mafia family, her father was the one who killed his father but the man has resources that he could never get on his own. He puts the plan into motion and kidnaps the daughter during a gala that her family throws every year.
They take the woman to the family's home and put her in a room and lock it so she can’t escape. They keep her in there for a long while taking her food every so often. The first time the two meet they get into an argument even though they both feel something. The next time when he comes is after he gets shot in the shoulder after some men he thought were working for her father shot up one of his businesses, they kiss and have sex.
After another argument he leaves, he decides to go get her some clothes as well as some essentials that she might need. While he’s gone she finds out that the door isn’t locked and looks around the house. When he gets home and notices the door opened as well as the woman not in it he’s livid, he looks everywhere and finds her in his room. He’s not mad at her, he's mad at himself forgetting to lock the door. She’s in his room with a shirt of his on as well as a pair of his boxers on. Seeing her like that makes him get thoughts running in his head. He leaves, going to the living room and after a while she follows. They sit on the couch and before long they can’t keep their lips or their hands away from each other, they have sex on the couch and then he takes her to the bathroom and gets into the shower having more sex. After the shower they lay on his bed, she feels comfortable next to him.
He wakes her up in the middle of the night informing her that they're going to go see her father. When they get there they’re surrounded by her father’s men and his men are in the foyer. Shots rang out and he shielded her as everyone scrambles for cover. He takes her upstairs looking for a safe place for her but their shooting at the windows, he hides her in a closet. Someone comes, it’s the guy who came to his business shooting it up, they struggle. The guy grabs the girl, the man runs but finds his underboss instead, he goes to her father and they scream at each other. A shot rings out and her father falls, he orders the underboss to stay with the father before going upstairs where he hears her screaming. He finds her with the guy, he takes his gun out and shoots him in the head, the woman screams. He gets her and they rush down stairs where her father is on the floor, the underboss is covered in blood. She goes to her father and he makes a gasp before dying. She falls to the floor next to him crying and he goes to her holding her shoulder at first before kneeling next to her holding her. He holds the promise that he will protect her and keep her safe forever.
It has been a year since he kidnapped her and since her father died. They're standing in front of an officiant telling each other that they love the other. After her father died he left the mafia and vowed never to kill another man again. Her father was the one who started the whole thing by killing his father so it was appropriate that everything ended with his death.

MMC/FMC- Victor and Charlotte
POV- 1st person dual
Genre- Mafia Romance
Heat- Not. I couldn’t help but laugh at the word “womanhood” being used unironically.
Series? I hope not.
Safety- No cheating, no S. Violence, no cliffhanger, HEA.
Triggers- Graphic Violence, purple prose in the euphemistic zex scenes.
Tropes- very tropey and not very original. Enemies to Lovers, Captor/Captive, Kidnapping, Mafia Princess, TSTL.
What I liked- Mercifully, this book was short. The only possibly interesting and non-stereotypical character was Victor’s father, and he was dead before the story began.
What I didn’t- the characters were cardboard cutouts. You had the spoiled Mafia Princess, the Playboy Young Mafia Don, the Amiable Sidekick, the Heavy Father, and the Bad Guy With No Apparent Motive Other Than Being Bad. One of Charlotte’s main complaints about being kidnapped was that there was a dearth of high-end bathing products in the bathroom and she had to make do with one bar of soap. And Victor personified the Too Stupid To Live trope. He gave random women his address, and he left the “cell” door unlocked. How on earth did this clown run a mafia family? The ending was completely unrealistic.
This Book Got Two Stars Because- it wasn’t offensive, so I gave it more than one star.
Verdict- pass. This was pretty awful.

A fast paced ride!
Victor only has revenge on his mind against the one responsible for taking the most important thing in his life from him. So he strikes back with a vengeance. He has a plan that will put him on top! He's going to kidnap the mafia princess. He had no idea she would affect him the way she does.
Charlotte's father isn't the man she used to know and love. He's now a tyrant and she wants nothing to do with him. She doesn't even have a life except to be the "perfect" little mafia princess. When she's kidnapped, she tries to be all the things attached to her fathers name. Fearless, brave, strong, when inside she's anything but. What does he mean her father's not getting her back? Marriage? There's no way her father would agree to that. As passions quickly erupt between the two, they start thinking that maybe both of them can profit from this "arrangement".
But, who's after who? Who's plotting against who? Who will come out on top?
This story is very fast paced but it's pretty good.

Victor is the new boss of his family and he wants revenge. He kidnapped the daughter of the man that killed his father. Charlotte is the princess of the Colombo family and gets kidnapped one night at a party. But what started as being forced , quickly turned into more. 😉 Enemies to lover, steamy, with action and with a sweet HEA😍😍 For safety lovers: not safe, kissed a woman and maybe more after meeting Charlotte.

Victor Bonnanos - Don but wants to be known as the Greatest Don to walk the earth.
The storyline itself was okay. The usual Mafia rivalry -: death, mob bosses, backstabbing, kidnapping etc.
Unfortunately there wasn’t anything different compared to some other Mafia storylines. I feel saddened that my critique is negative. For beginners to Mafia reads, this will be a good start for you.

Enemies to lovers
This is a quick easy read. Has a decent plot but not flushed out well enough for me. There are several typos and misused words. The story moves along quickly and it kind of felt like you are being jerked along. Like you have skipped parts of the story and wonder how you got to this point. It isn’t the worst story I’ve read but I likely won’t purchase another one.

💞💖💞 Victor and Charlotte 💞💖💞 Victor was head of the mob! Charlotte was thee daughter of the daughter of the head of another mob. Her dad killed his dad and the dominoes continue to fall. Great fast read. Ava Cox did a wonderful job writing this book!.

Interesting read. The characters were unique and portrayed the fear of being part of the mob life. Being determined on a path for revenge yet found love and mew direction. Nice story. Fast paced read.

The Mafia families know that war is bad for business but they just can't help themselves! The Colombo Don, Michael Revello, wants more; so he has killed Victor's father. Now Victor is Don of the Bonanno family. He is already plotting the revenge kidnapping of Charlotte Revello! This short read has plenty of action and when another underboss attacks Victor at his 'speakeasy' seeking Charlotte, we don't know if his boss sent him, if he's working with the Colombos, or for himself. I enjoyed this read and the HEA ending!
