We took this book with us on our vacation to Hawaii and found it invaluable. We took it with us everywhere. The price estimates for the restaurants were a little low, but it was nonetheless extremely helpful in getting around, finding activities, and choosing restaurants.

There were tons of tips throughout the book, from how to handle the wildlife to interesting tidbits and lore about the various plants and landmarks on the island.

The one day we ventured out of our hotel without the book, I felt almost lost. Definitely read this book if you're going to Hawaii's big island!

My husband and I wrote this guidebook, so of course it gets a five-star review! We spent seven months traveling around the island to research the guide, and we're very proud of it. We tried to create a book that would appeal to visitors and locals alike, stressing cultural and environmental awareness as well as lots of fun activities. We also peppered the copy with inspirational and/or humorous quotes to illustrate the vibe of different areas we covered. It was definitely a labor of love.

This book helped us out SO much for our trip to Hawaii!! The author recommended some great activities and places to eat. We were able to take advantage of some of the recommendations and were highly pleased with the outcome. If you are going to the Big Island you should check it out!
