This was a short and sweet mail-order bride romance. The heroine is struggling because she can't pay her medical bills for her newly diagnosed Type 1 Diabetes, so her best friend signs her up as a mail-order bride. Turns out her husband-to-be is a rich cowboy who falls head over heels for her.

Quick read, but, a few things to point out. There an age gap. She’s 23 he’s 36. It’s kind of an odd story because a lot is..missing. There major story development issues with this story. I’m assuming there’s an attempt to present this as insta love, except there is virtually zero dialogue between these main characters.

Another issue is the fact that the FMC Ever, has no real responsibility for herself. She was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes just before her friend offered her up as a mail order bride for someone in Montana who needs to secure an inheritance…not much time is spent on this but there’s mentions of Trip having to run and become a millionaire when their parents are killed in an accident when he is 18, so I’m not clear on this at all. Anyway, Ever seems like a toddler in taking care of herself and is in and out of the hospital with her blood sugars, etc and then Trip decides he and his brothers must babysit her, cook her food and monitor her blood sugars..it’s actually ridiculous.

I kind of want to read the next book for no other reason than to see if it’s as poorly plotted out as this book.

Let’s try to develop the story better and write real women.

Mountain Man's Bride de T. Thomas Serie Brothers of Winter Rock libro 1

Argumento:

Everlee is a 23 year old with no insurance struggling at low-income jobs to make enough money to pay for her insulin (She is a type 1 diabetic). Her best friend decides to answer an ad for her for a rancher looking for a bride. Tripp needs to get married in order to inherit some money left to him and his brothers with the condition that one of them marry. Since he is the oldest he decides to be the one to get married.

Few details:
- Older man (38) younger woman (23)
- Lots of details about her problems maintaining her blood sugars. In my mind too much
- Closed door

It was very refreshing to see a main character with diabetes. It is prevalent in my family so I did like that it played a role in a romance novel. Most of it was correct as well. There were a couple of minor items that were not a big deal

A mail order bride for a Montana rancher and the heroine has chronic illness rep in the modern day? I was intrigued.

Twenty three year old Everlee “Ever” lives in Florida and has been unable to afford insulin to treat her type 1 diabetes. Her latest doctor warns that this is a dangerous situation to be in but she feels like she cannot do much. Her best friend, Charlie signs her up for a mail order bride program and she gets a response from a Montana rancher, thirty six year old Tripp Walker who needs to marry so he and his brothers can receive their inheritance from their late parents.

Everlee agrees to try and get to know him. He is rich, handsome and able to provide healthcare as well as a modified diet for her (gluten free), plus she does not need to work or worry about money. This is a dream for a female with a chronic illness.

Tripp decides to be the one of his brothers to marry (the way he talks about it is like taking one for the team) but when he sees Everlee’s picture, he is unexpectedly attracted to her and even more so when he meets her.

He is determined to take care of her and strong arms her into marrying him after the doctor’s visit. His brothers are not keen on him just marrying her after knowing her for a day but they change their mind when they see how much her diabetes affects her wellbeing she gets dizzy and almost faints infront of them). He does give her an out by saying they can get divorced in 1 year.

The hero was a cinnamon roll and alpha mellow of a dream in the way he took care of the heroine and the way he calls her “Sweetheart” was so swoony. What I was confused by was how the heroinewas so unaware of how to manage condition and there are two instances where she gets into dangerous situations because she forgets to eat. The hero blames himself and his brother decide to create a watch for her but isn't it her own responsibility too? she is not an invalid. And she gets mad at them.

All of them take on care taker roles with Ever like cooking for her, watching over her, accompanying her at home. I liked the setting of the ranch and them horse riding together was sweet.

I felt like the hero was not what I thought a mountain man was like, I pictured a socially awkward, stoic and silent type but Tripp just did not like being in the city, he seemed pretty modern to me except he likes the quiet life on their land. Maybe because he tends to take control and it can come off as high handed but I felt some instances were justifiable.

This was fade to black with the steamiest thing being the kisses they shared.

It was obvious her best friend was going to paired with one of the brother next.

Tropes: Marriage of convenience, age gap (older hero-younger heroine thirteen year difference)

Summary:
FMC has been diagnosed with type one diabetes. She is not able to afford her medications and continues to end up in the emergency room. Her friend arranges for her to marry a stranger the MMC. He will cover her medical expenses etc. MMC needs to get married in order to gain his inheritance and save the family ranch.

Review:
This is my first book by this author. It was ok. I found it a bit slow at times but felt it had a great storyline. There are scenes where the FMC is seizing or almost seizing and close to death due to her diagnosis. But what I really loved was how the MMC was determined to take care of her. The MMC was able to have his two brothers help him in taking care of her. I think each of the brothers may get a book along with her best friend.

Mountain Man's Bride is the first book in the Brothers of Winter Rock Series by T. Thomas.

Everlee is dealing with type 1 diabetes. She needs medication she can not afford and is struggling with mounting medical bills. She feels like there is no solution to her troubles until her best friend finds one for her.

Tripp is seeking a wife due to a clause in his late parents' will. When he agrees to marry Everlee, he believes it will benefit them both, and if they come to care for each other, eventually, then great. What he doesn't expect is the magnitude of his feelings for her, of how her illness will cause him to worry about her.

At first, I wasn't a fan of Everlee. She seemed mean and ungrateful, especially considering all Tripp was doing to help her. Tripp, on the other hand,  was steadfast and swoony, everything you want in a book boyfriend.
Overall, the story was fantastic. Well written and emotional.  The toll her illness played on them was realistic and felt genuine.  The main characters seemed to grow closer appropriately, and their chemistry was felt. The brothers were awesome, and I can't wait for their stories.  This was my first book by this author, and I am eagerly awaiting the next book in this series.

ARC was provided by Booksprout, and this is my honest review.

I wanted to really love this but I just couldn't get or understand Everlee, the FMC. She's irresponsible on so many different levels, that I'm not sure how she's managed to live this far, based on her actions in the book, is astounding.

Nothing about her made me see or understand how Tripp, the MMC, falls for her, except that he must have a hero complex as he is constantly having to rescue her from herself time and time again withing the book. I felt for the man.

I loved Tripp and his brothers. I found them to be endearing, sweet, and wholesome and I loved how many chapters were in his POV as he came across as a more fleshed out character and a solid good guy with a heart of gold.

All in all, the book is well written, albeit a bit of a rushed ending feeling for this arc but within it's 123 pages I loved Tripp and his brothers, the small town romance feeling, and instalove tropes.

Tripp and Everlee’s story is absolutely delightful! It is sweet, poignant and insightful as well. The subject of Everlee’s diabetes is handled with a deft and compassionate touch, with realism in mind. It is impossible not to love Tripp, an alpha make cowboy to the core with a mile wide protective streak an a soft gooey centre that definitely beats for his beautiful mail-order bride the moment he sees her. Instead of sending her away because her illness is too tough to handle or control, he draws her closer and out-stubborns her when it comes to her care. Everlee is stronger than she thinks, resilient and determined not to be a burden. Tripp gives a safe haven she never knew she needed and takes great care of her health and her heart.

His brothers are a wonderful mix of goofballs and protectors that add some levity to this charming book. I look forward to readings their individual stories.

Totally heart felt writing which hit me hard and had me in tears a couple of times as it was close to home for me.
Not everyone can afford their medication, so glad she had a friend that did this for her.
Tripp and his brothers were exactly what she needed.
I loved his Alpha tendencies when it came to her health and the way he saw through to her heart.
Extremely well written.
I know why they both met,but it makes me wonder if the brothers will get stories as they all were determined to stay single, but all have such big hearts to share.

4.75 - 5 stars.

I really enjoyed the start to this series and I so want to read the rest of it based on my enjoyment of book one. I loved the brothers so much, how they were with each other and how they took Everlee into their hearts. The story showed a lovely romance, a lovely family, good friendship and a glimpse into what live is like living with Type 1 diabetes. I am looking forward to reading book two how, finding out more why Charlie did what she did and seeing more of this wonderful family that have snuck into my heart and see their relationship and family continue to grow.

This heartwarming story had me all caught up in Tripp and Everleigh. She is working hard trying to take care of herself. She has type one diabetes and her medicine is costly. When her friends sign her up for a mail-order bride Tripp land on her profile and when he learns about her sickness, he takes matters into his own hands. Will this relationship work for the two of the and will it lead them along the path to happiness.

Looking for a minimal drama, sweet and instantaneous love story with a guaranteed happy ever after? This book is IT! It’s a very short read and storyline mostly centered around the female protagonist’s medical issues. It’s also pretty “clean” and low on smut. Despite not being drama filled, I enjoyed the book quite a bit!.

Everlee is working two jobs just to make ends meet, however when she get sick and can not afford to get her medication. Tripp and Everlee both need something to happen that will make their life easier. Everlee needs help with medical bills and Tripp needs a wife because of a clause in his late parent’s will. This makes for a solution to each of their problems. The author wrote the characters so well that I could feel the chemistry jump off the pages as I was reading.

This is a heartwarming tale of two people who arrange to be together essentially for money, to inherit, and to pay for medical supplies. I loved the relationship between these two individuals and thought it could have very easily been expanded, especially from his point of view and the inheritance aspect. But I really loved this book.

Everlee was the most irresponsible character I’ve ever read about. It made me lose my mind the way she was so dumb. It really blows my mind how she survived life so far. Honestly if it weren’t for the love interest she would have been dead by now I honestly feel sorry for him having to deal with an irresponsible woman. I feel bad for her future children.

Everlee has been diagnosed with type one diabetes, but she has no money to buy the insulin she needs to keep her illness at bay.
Tripp and his brothers have inherited the ranch where they live and work from their parents but to get it, at least one of them has to be married. So, he decided to ask for a mail-order bride from an app.
I liked how Tripp and his brothers took turns to take care of Everlee.
A quick and romantic read.

I docked one star for how Ever behaves at the beginning.

She literally gets mad because Tripp wants to KEEP HER ALIVE. Really, girl.

Other than that, lovely start to the series.
