Its quite an amusing read, if a little dated now (written in the 80s) with a few laugh out loud moments. Overall though its a bit too much to read in one go, as the humour then tends to pall. Initially I kept waiting for the book to 'start' as I was expecting tales of actual walks, rather than a humorous history of the world of rambling. Probably best read if you dip in and out!
