I'm an indie author from the UK, who writes contemporary and paranormal M/M romance. My books have flawed characters, happy endings, and lots of heart.
What do you get when an ex-priest who's now a Daddy and a bratty demon boy, who needs someone to love him more than he realises? A lot of hotness, that what! Ian was so attentive and caring, and Brin was so full of life and a total sweetheart. He had this innocence about him with a naughty streak. Together, they were fire!! The sparks between them are instant and undeniable, and I loved their journey to their HEA. Recalling My Demon was a great addition to the Possessive Love series, very much enjoyed it! It highlights Colette's classic style of sweet and steamy, and I'm so here for it!
This was mostly sweet, even if I didn’t love it as much as I’d hoped. It’s a daddy kink story between an ex-priest and a demon boy, a concept that won me over instantly. And while I liked it, the characters felt a little flat, with occasionally stilted dialogue, and chemistry that didn’t really win me over until the story was almost over. Nevertheless, this was creative and ultimately heartwarming, and I’m still glad I gave it a chance.
I swear only Colette can write a book with an ex priest daddy and his demon bratty boy in a way that I truly enjoy. Brin and Ian are that great combination that only will work for a writer who knows how to incorporate kink in the right way. It's fun and hot all at once. Absolutely adore that she kept to her style of writing even when diving into the Paranormal world. I've seen other aurhors try to do this, and it just doesn't translate well, so thank you for showing us its possible. A great addition to this diverse group of writers for this universe.
A sweet and sexy book that’s perfect for Halloween and sure to warm you up! This story is about Ian (an ex-priest turned Daddy) and Brin (a bratty demon Boy) finding each other and then facing the heartbreaking possibility of eternity apart. It’s a fast, fun read, with the heat and heart this author is known for. I haven’t had a chance to read any of the other stories in this multi-author series but I’m looking forward to them and to whatever comes next from Colette Davison.
4,5 stars Recalling my Demon by Colette Davison is part of the Possessive Love series by multiple authors. This book is about Brin and Ian. Ian is a former priest turned nurse. Brin is a demon who can’t leave his home or else other demon's will come to take him to hell. Brin's mother is Ian's new patient.....
I loved their story! It was sweet, sexy, full of feels and very well written.
3.7 stars This is another book in the Possessive Love Series, and the first that Ive read. Ooh I loved the start something scares Ian the first time he visits Martha. Ian 45yrs, was a nurse (and ex priest) and called to the rumoured haunted Nethermire house. 😈Brin 23 yrs is residing at the house and very much wants Ian to teach him hot sexy things. He’s bad at being a flirt but points for trying. An enjoyable book for these two, I liked Ian’s character but something about Brin put me off with his behaviours. The two and froing as if they should or shouldn’t wasn’t my favourite in this. An insta connection when they officially meet. Age gap with a Daddy theme and a brat who loves being naughty. This had an okayish start to the book for me but it gets better after the halfway point when the story ramps up. Recalling my demon: Summing up a fast romance to finish with an HEA but with some dramas to end well.
Recalling My Demon: An MM paranormal romance by Colette Davison is part of a multi-author 12 book paranormal series called Possessive Love.
Colette Davison does several things here with this charming kinky novella that make it surprisingly different in many ways from the rest of the typical stories involved demon romances.
It’s a ex priest and demon romance with many twists. There’s a daddy kink, an innocent character, and the church isn’t involved in the story.
Who’s the innocent? Well, it’s the demon. That’s Brin, a bratty, loving demon who lives with his human mother, isolated behind wards for his safety and hers. In Brin, Davison has created such a lovable engaging character. Naughty and innocent. A total scamp.
Ian, the ex-priest turned nurse is an interesting personality. He’s a caring individual, made his peace with his faith, and went into nursing to continue to help others. But he’s got a kinky side. Guess who gets to explain sex to a demon?
There’s more emotional side stories, including the one that involves Brian’s aging mother.
I didn’t find the end as well realized as the rest of the story but it’s definitely a HEA.
If you are a fan of the author and trope, don’t pass up Recalling My Demon: An MM paranormal romance by Colette Davison. A fun entertaining read.

Adams Gift for a Demon by Emily Alter
The idea of an ex-priest explaining kink to a demon should be absurd. As an author, Davison is exactly the blend of spicy and sweet necessary to make it adorable instead. The story in this book is the perfect combination of spicy and sweet itself, making for a quick, enjoyable read that left me smiling, even as it packed in a wallop of emotion within the pages.
The supernatural element is immediately obvious, but I still felt eased into it as I was introduced to Ian and his general circumstances. I was already intrigued by Ian’s character and past from the beginning, but Davison slips the pertinent facts in exactly where needed. The full supernatural reveal also happens quickly, but Brin’s character is set up for it to be entirely in form. The overall pacing of this book was fairly fast, but never in a way that felt rushed.
It’s easy to go into paranormal romance, especially for a relationship between a human and a demon, with assumptions in place. I thoroughly enjoyed the flip here of the human character being the much more settled one. Despite the Daddy kink element, there’s very little of a traditional dynamic between them elsewhere. Brin is a brat but doesn’t have a submissive bone in his body. He just wants to be loved for who he is, and isn’t that what we all want in the end?
Disclaimer: I received a digital review copy of this book from the author.
Brin is absolutely a naughty one. But in his defense, he really doesn’t know any better given his situation. He’s forthright and goes for what he wants. Ian is a bit more reserved, particularly given his background, but once he finally gives himself the green light, it’s a whole other ballgame.
I did find Brin to be a perfect fit for the role of a boy given his somewhat bratty nature, plus his relatively sheltered upbringing. Ian is just the right Daddy for him though, and while some may feel like things moved quickly for them, the story actually plays out over time . The two of them make an excellent match, both in the bedroom and out.
This story is pretty lighthearted and an easy, quick read. The bit of excitement comes in the last third once Brin is pulled back to hell, and Ian has to figure out how to get him back. If you go into this without the expectation of anything deep or profound, you’ll find yourself enjoying a playful boy and a Daddy trying to keep him in line.
At just over 200 pages, I read Recalling My Demon in an afternoon and found it to be a fun story. If you’re looking for something light and love a bratty, straightforward boy then this book will fit the bill. Recommended for readers 18+ for adult language and sexual content.

Angie – ☆☆☆ It took me a bit to get into this book. I instantly loved Brin, but didn't really like Ian right away. There were times that I had to skim the story because it was boring in parts. It was a short read, and the sexy times were good. I think if the supernatural element wasn't involved, I would have loved this book. That element just didn't work for me for some reason in this book, it seemed hokey to me.

Ian and Brin's story was such a sweet Daddy/boy romance. I was intrigued by the concept of a bratty house-bound demon who was a little socially awkward, and Brin ended up being such a lovable character to me. Once he had his sights set on Ian, there was no chance they wouldn't end up exploring their chemistry, but they ended up finding a much deeper connection than expected. I devoured their steamy bits and playful moments together, but I especially adored their cuddles and overnight stays. Ian was such a caretaker kind of Daddy, and seeing how much he grew to adore Brin's naughtiness warmed my heart. The majority of their story was dedicated to building their romance, but every now and then there'd be a reminder of a nebulous demon threat against Brin and his mom. That threat escalated very suddenly at the end of the story, but despite my initial panic it ended up getting resolved so quickly that I barely had time to worry. I'm very happy that both Brin and Martha got their happy endings, and the Paris epilogue was a very sweet sendoff!
**I voluntarily read an ARC of this book. This review expresses my honest thoughts and opinions.
Ex-priest Ian has retrained as a nurse and when going to visit Martha an eighty-year-old patient at Nethermire House he is warned that it is haunted and to keep his visit as short as possible. She has regular visits from her great-nephew Brin who is chaotic and bratty which draws Ian's Daddy to him even though he is a demon. When he calls Ian Daddy, he wants to protect him, take care of him, and call him his. But when he gets summoned to hell, their happiness is shattered. Can he recall him to his side, or will he lose him forever?
I enjoyed this story with the bratty young demon and the Daddy who was there to care for him and protect him whenever it was needed. I loved the twist that Ian was an ex-priest. This was a fun read and I liked that Brin was so sassy as that put him in good stead when he was taken to hell. I loved Martha and how hard she tried to protect Brin from the same fate as his father. Easy to read, feel and understand. This an MM story with mature content and a BSDM-like DDLB dynamic.
I really enjoyed reading Recalling My Demon. It’s a fairly quick read with lots of bratty humor and a side of serious. Ian is a former priest who is now a nurse and he also enjoys Daddy/boy kink. As a visiting nurse, he’s sent to Nethermire to provide care for an elderly woman. The other nurses don’t want to go there because they think the house is haunted.
What Ian finds is a gorgeous young man that he becomes enamored with. The same young man won’t stop flirting with him and is generally being a brat. They have some hot sexy time together and even after Ian finds out what Brin really is he still wants him. Brin is the perfect submissive and enjoys having Ian as his Daddy.
Colette Davison writes great Daddy/boy kink books and this is another really fun story from her. I enjoyed reading it very much!
A copy of this book was provided to me at my request and my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.
When I read the blurb I imagined a great story with a lot of substance, some angst, and an important on the part of the characters getting back together, Ian’s search to “recall” Brin to him. But this part, although it seems relevant in the blurb, feels like an afterthought in the book. It takes less than two chapters at around 80% of the book, one in each character’s pov, I’m guessing around a few hours, for Ian and Brin to get back together. There’s absolutely nothing substantial or remotely interesting. It feels like a miss opportunity or an afterthought of the author to make this book seem like more than a Daddy kink story between a demon and a human.
If you really enjoy daddy kink, you’ll probably like this book. If you want to read it because of the story itself, there’s a chance you’ll be disappointed.
As soon as I read the blurb of this book, I knew that I needed it in my life. A bratty demon and an ex priest??? Like yes please, give it to me. This entire concept just worked for me and I also ended up loving the book. Everything was done in such a wonderful way for me, and I had the best of time reading this book.
I just loved everything about Brin and Ian and their relationship. I loved both of their personas so much and they complimented each other really well. I loved all of their interactions so much and I loved their dynamic. I thought that they were perfect for each other and I had the best of time reading about all of the times that they spent together.
This was such a cute and sweet story and I had the best of time reading this one.
This was extremely fluffy with a dash of hurt/comfort. In fact, I'm not even sure if it can rightfully be called angst, which coincidentally is where I think this author shines. I think had it leaned into the angst a little bit more surrounding Martha and the ending not be wrapped up so quickly, it would have been a five star for me. As is, it's a cute fluffy story which is fine.
I think making Brin being a bratty demon boy was smart. That's the kind of expectation that when subverted is fun. I liked how we didn't spend too much time with Ian believing they can't be together, and I enjoyed the smut. All in all, it's a cute story with sweet characters. If you're looking for something with some cozy spooky vibes, this is it. It's worth a read.
This romance between a former priest and a half-demon is emotional, sexy, and sweet. Ian is a natural caretaker, which works well in his new role as a nurse, and also in his role as a dominant. Brin is submissive, bratty, and surprisingly innocent, never having seen the world outside of television and the internet. These two heat up the pages, and not just because Brin can become fire. There are some truly funny moments in this story, as well as scenes of heartbreak. The author does both so well! I'm so glad she was invited to participate in the Possessive Love series. This is an original and engrossing installment with a couple I truly care about.
Recalling My Demon is part of the multi-author Possessive Love series. This is a steamy, age gap story with an ex-priest Daddy, Ian, and a bratty demon boy, Brin. I really enjoyed this book. It definitely gives a different take on the daddy/boy dynamic. Ian is a nurse who happens to take over the care of Martha because the other nurses find her house creepy and haunted. Brin is trapped at the house and befriends Ian. Ian and Brin are just whom the other was looking for and didn't even know it. The ending was just perfect and made me happy. If you enjoy lighthearted Daddy/boy kink you don't want to miss this book. Definitely recommend! I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.
An ex-priest turned Daddy, a bratty, chaos-fueled, utterly charming demon-- what could possibly go wrong? I love the premise here, and Ian’s focus and care is a nice balance for everything that is Brin: it’s hot and sweet and makes for an interesting read with moments of fun and moments of feeling and some intriguing plot developments along the way. The connection between the main characters is a bit instalove-y but also pure fire (metaphorically and literally) and overall, I found this to be an enjoyable read.

OK...now I love bratty demon boys. Brin was a delight and Ian was the daddy he oh so needed. I really enjoyed reading this sweet, funny, HOT as fudge, demon possessive love romance. I was entertained from the first introduction of Brin to the very end with a wonderful HEA. If you are loving this series like I am with these adorable demons, I highly recommend giving this addition to the series a try...especially if you love naughty bratty boys:)

It was quick, fun and quirky I loved it! It’s short so very insta love. It’s a bit silly, a bit sexy (not as much as I’d expected but still good) and the end is ridiculous (how did they get all that money to do what they do in the epilogue? ) and it leaves some questions unanswered but I had fun so that’s a 4* for me :)
Note: It’s the first time I’ve read a D/s dynamic where they tried some impact play and the sub honestly says “actually you know what? I don’t like it” and I thought it was a nice change.
Awww, this story is such a delight from start to finish and I absolutely loved it! An ex priest and a bratty demon? It shouldn't work but it does! Add Daddy into the mix and you get that extra layer of sweet and spicy 🔥🔥 This story also made me chuckle when a certain song is mentioned 🤭🤭 This is everything I have come to love about Colette Davison's writing. I received an arc copy of this book from the author herself and this is my honest review.
This really was the sweetest story about an ex-priest and a bratty little demon that needs to be taught to behave. Ian meets Brin when he's assigned to check in on Brin's aging "aunt". Sparks fly from the beginning but there are definitely issues between them that need to be worked out before they can truly become a couple. I loved the way Ian responded to Brin and all his brattiness. The chemistry between these two was literal fire!
Oh my gosh Brin was so freaking lovable like i get that maybe i shouldn't fall in love with a demon but you just cant help it. He is just so bloody cute. I honestly loved his story so much, its my first from this multi-author series and i cant wait to see what the other authors have planned for their demon’s. Ian is the daddy that Brin needs to rain in his chaos but also to show him what love is. Brin hasn't r left the grounds of his home for his own safety and the only things he knows of the world come from the internet. I loved seeing how Ian loved Brin for the real him. Him being a demon didn't stop the ex priest from falling for the cheeky boy. They were so sweet (and hot) together in parts they really made me swoon

Loved Colette Davison's sweet and steamy, paranormal entry in this series featuring Ian and Brin, the ex-priest and the demon who discover their perfect Daddy/boy dynamic with each other. Of course, demons don't below here, we all know where they belong. These two will have to fight to be together and I loved seeing their struggles finally pay off with a priest trying to summon a demon rather than send him back to hell.
His Heart Will Go On Surprisingly and fittingly, Ian is the right daddy for demon Brin because Ian is a nurse and before that he was a priest, and proves to be the perfect mix of patient and dominant to take care of the naughty Brin and bring him back when Brin is taken away. I love how the author is able to make something that could be a little heavy and questionable but instead is sweet and fun. ***ARC review***
This series has been exceptional and I love Colette’s story. Ian is an ex-priest that left the church to be true to himself but still wants to serve. Brin is a demon that has been trapped in the same home for his entire life. Sparks fly when they meet and the emotion feels so incredibly real. A unique story with a whole lotta heat and even more love.
