Ich liebe diese Reihe von Jessica Clare einfach. Allein die Idee mit den verschiedenen Fernseh-Shows, einfach nur genial! Die einzelnen Kapitel fangen hier wie auch in den Vorgängerbänden immer mit Auszügen aus Interviews o.ä. an.

In diesem Band geht es um eine Show, in welcher ein Promi zusammen mit einem professionellen Eisläufer gegen andere Paare antreten muss. Quasi "Lets Dance", nur auf Schlittschuhen. Neben dem angenehm lockerleichten Schreibstil mochte ich auch unsere beiden Protagonisten total gerne! Aufgrund der Kürze dieser Bücher kommt man auch immer recht schnell zur Sache. Sei es das Kennenlernen der einzelnen Protagonisten sowie ihre jeweilige Vergangenheit und ihre Probleme, oder aber auch das gegenseitige Kennenlernen und sich näher kommen. Das empfinde ich aber nicht mal als richtigen Kritikpunkt. Klar kann bei knapp 200 Seiten nicht allzu viel Tiefgang erwartet werden, dennoch hat mich das Buch komplett gepackt und mich auch emotional berühren können. Daher konnte ich es auch nicht aus der Hand legen und musste es direkt in einem weglesen.

Von mir eine klare Empfehlung für diese Reihe! Der perfekte spicy Lesesnack für Zwischendurch! :)

The Games series is easily one of my absolute favorites in contemporary romance. Though there's nothing groundbreaking or amazing about any of these novels they're just plain fun to read, and thats why I love them so much. Though each book follows a similar story line I love watching the chemistry develop and the drama of being on a reality TV show.

That being said Ice Games was probably my least favorite in the series so far, just because it didn't have as exciting of a plot as the last two. Instead of being stuck on an island or running around the world Zara's and Ty's romance mostly takes place on an ice skating rink rather than any exciting locations. On the other hand I've never read a book that had anything to do with ice skating so it was a nice change of pace and I enjoyed reading about Zara's time as a Olympic figure skater and what happened to change all of that.

Though the Games series romances tend to focus on the more physical aspects of the relationship I loved watching the chemistry between Ty and Zara. They were such opposites, Zara being a tiny figure skater and Ty being a burly MMA fighter, that watching the two of them interact was easily the most entertaining part of the story. I loved watching their relationship go from hate to love and everything else in between. Even though their relationship was so physical I still felt like there was a strong connection between them and thats what I love about Jessica Clare. She manages to make a novel steamy but still forge that connection between characters that makes the romance believable.

Zara was one of the sassiest characters so far in the series and she wasn't afraid to tell anyone off or take matters into her own hands. Between Ty and his bad attitude, the judge that had it out for Zara, and the horrible skating instructor there was plenty of drama and Zara wasn't afraid to fight for what she wanted. I couldn't help but laugh as Zara went through the novel provoking Ty, firing members of the TV show crew, and otherwise being just plain stubborn. I loved Zara and I hope that she makes a cameo in one of the future novels!

The Games series is easily the best contemporary/gameshow romance series out there and I just can't get enough of it! Those looking for a fun, quick, and romantic read should definitely check out this fantastic series by Jesscia Clare!

ADORABLE! I love this reality tv series. Bk 3 is adorable, sassy and sexy. All the h’s in this series are opinionated and mouthy….which I LOVE. Ice Games features an H/h both recovering from “what was I thinking?!?” mistakes in their chosen professions. Zara has a huge Olympic skating faux pas behind her. At 14 yrs old the Olympic darling walked off the ice after falling during competition and flipped off the crowd that booed her (LOL!). Not cool with worldwide TV coverage. Ty, an MMA fighter, has his own screw up. Although Zara’s was in the past, Ty’s was more recent (yea, he pulled a Mike Tyson on an opponent’s nose…Eww!).

This bk features an “ice dancing” theme. With an array of B list celebs and various one time skating champs. Zara at 25 yrs, a fill in for the pregant skater chosen for the show,is hoping to have a 2nd chance. Ty, while less than enthused with his starring appearance is being coerced by his manager to help revive his career with a seriously needed image makeover.

The tiny little health conscious, determined, competitive, control freak and the big badass fighter are incredibly fun going at it. Ty is worried about losing his man-card (he hates this girly gig) and Zara is determined to win the completion. Neither are happy with each other, which just makes this story all the more fun. After a bit of an “oops” accident, Zara has Ty just where she wants him and guilt’s him into helping her win. Oh yea…opposites attract and things start to heat up and before long they begin eyeing each other as more than just skate partners. Things heat up slowly as the story plays out and oh is it worth it. Ty is one SEXY guy and he and inexperienced Zara together are sweet and HOT!

Just so darn cute! If you’re looking for a fun, easy, light read, this is it! Jessica Clare (aka Jill Myles) can’t wait for bk 4, Bedroom Games.

This book was sweet and erotic and a fun read for in-between! Zara and Ty's story was over in 240 pages so I didn't really get that deep into their relationship, but the beginning we've read about was cute and fun. The game-concept in this series is also always interesting to read about, since the author clearly is trying to always dig up something new, as with this theme which was "Ice Dancing with the Stars". Personally, I would've just called this "Dancing on Ice", cause the name sounds more catchy but what do I know, right? Back to the book, the story started off pretty tame but went intimate very fast also, which is a signature tell-tale for these kinds of books with few pages. I really liked Zara and her ambition and kindness alike. Ty was a little harder to picture as a love-interest, since he clearly portrayed a macho-macho type of man, with his attention on how people see him. In the end, I would've liked for him to open up a little more and be a little more open to Zara about his feelings, instead of worrying about his image. In the end though, the book was very sweet and easy to read, and had a great lovestory.

I just love these books! I don't know how many times I can say that. I JUST LOVE THESE BOOKS. There I said it again.

I love how Clare can create unique characters and put them in these believable reality-show situations and make me love every single one. I loved Zara and how superstitious she was and how her embarrassing actions allowed her to grow. I loved Ty and his surprising vulnerability and his dirty mouth and downright sexiness. Even though the stories themselves are becoming somewhat formulaic--one team forced together who start out hating each other but learn to work together in order to win and eventually fall in love with the other--Clare still manages to make each story their own and add some fun twists in. She is also amazing at giving us a behind-the-scenes look at reality tv, which is my favorite aspect of these books. Overall, this series and its unique, sexy concept is quickly becoming one of my all-time faves and should definitely be on your to-read list. 4.5 stars!

Wieder ein absolutes Wohlfühlbuch, was man leider viel zu schnell durch hat. Ein paar mehr Seiten hätte das Buch ruhig haben können, dann wäre ich vielleicht schnell mit dem weiblichen Hauptcharakter warm geworden, aber aufgrund der Buchlänge blieben die Charaktere leider etwas oberflächlich. Alles in allem aber süßer Roman für zwischendurch um eine Leseflaute zu beenden.

Ihr sucht einen Garant für leichte und süße Bücher für zwischendurch? Tja, bei Jessica Clare seid ihr da genau an der richtigen Stelle. Einfach etwas wodurch man abschalten kann. Und auch wenn Wild Games - In deinen starken Armen für mich eins ihrer schwächeren Bücher war, hat es trotzdem ein paar tolle Lesestunden beschert.

Was passiert in diesem Buch?

Zara Pritchard, dieser Name wurde vor Jahren noch mit einem gefeierten Eiskunstlauf-Talent verbunden. Bis zu diesem Schicksalhaften Moment bei Olympia der Zaras gesamtes Leben veränderte. Denn heute schlägt sie sich mit kleinen, unbedeutenden Jobs durch. Doch als sie die Möglichkeit bekommt bei dem TV-Format Ice Dancing with the Stars mitzumachen, sieht sie ihre zweite Chance gekommen. Bis sie ihrem Partner, dem MMA-Kämpfer Ty Randal, vorgestellt wird. Doch obwohl die beiden anfangs nicht nach Freunden aussehen, fliegen schon bald die Funken zwischen ihnen. Und das nicht nur auf dem Eis...

Konnten mich die Protagonisten überzeugen?

Eine große Stärke von Jessica Clare ist es, Protagonisten zu schaffen, die einem Spaß bereiten und einfach umhauen.

Denn genau so eine ist ihr wieder mit Zara gelungen. Ja sie war wirklich eine Protagonistin nach meinem Geschmack. Sie war frech und witzig und dazu noch ziemlich sarkastisch (darin erkenne ich mich grundsätzlich wieder). Aber sie war auch süß, nett und absolut loyal. Aber allem voran wirklich ehrgeizig. Sie hat für das gekämpft was sie wollte. Und schreckte dabei auch nicht davor zurück, anderen Leuten auf die Füße zu treten. Und auch wenn sie so ihre Momente hatte wo sie mir gehörig auf die Nerven ging, fand ich sie als Gesamtpaket wirklich toll. Und dieser eine Punkt, das sie mit 25 Jahren noch Jungfrau ist, fand ich nicht ganz so glaubwürdig. Aber hey, jedem das seine nicht.

Und Ty? Er ist dieser sexy raue, von oben bis unten tätowierte MMA-Kämpfer, der wortwörtlich, gerne mal seine Gegner beißt. Und trotzdem, glaubt mir, ich verstehe warum Zara so fasziniert von ihm war. Ich fand es einfach toll von ihm, dass er sich zwar Anfangs nichts sagen lassen möchte, sich dennoch der Herausforderung stellt und diese dann auch bis zum Schluss durchzieht. Solche Menschen mag ich einfach. Und da kann ich auch mal darüber hinwegsehen, dass Ty nicht immer der freundlichste ist.

Die Beziehung der beiden mochte ich auch wirklich gern. Ich fand schon alleine den Kontrast zwischen Zara, die klein und zierlich war und Ty, der ein großer und muskulöser Mann war, sehr amüsant. Besonders als sie angefangen haben zusammen zu arbeiten war das wirklich witzig. Ich fand es auch toll, dass der Sex hier nicht so im Vordergrund stand, sondern recht spät in die Geschichte integriert wurde. Das hat man eher selten in diesem Genre. Jessica Clare hat es hier hinbekommen genau die richtige Mischung aus Funken und Feuer zwischen den beiden Protagonisten zu erzeugen.

Gab es etwas, was mir nicht gefallen hat?

Ja leider, aber das ist bei so "kurzen" Büchern immer mein Problem. Die Geschichte kann sich meist einfach nicht so richtig entfalten und die Gefühle und die Verbindung zwischen den Protagonisten bleibt meistens ziemlich seicht. Und genau das war auch hier mein Problem. Denn so gut ich die Beziehung zwischen den beiden auch fand, so wirklich tief wurden die Gefühle einfach nicht. Denn gerade am Ende ging es so Schlag auf Schlag zwischen den beiden, dass war zu schnell und hätte sicherlich noch etwas ausgeschmückt werden können.

Gab es etwas, was ich noch erwähnen muss?

An dieser Stelle muss ich einfach noch einmal darauf zu sprechen kommen, wie witzig dieses Buch war. Ich weiß, dass vermuten viele gar nicht in diesem Genre, aber es gibt wirklich viele super witzige Bücher. Und die von Jessica Clare gehören immer dazu. Besonders die Reaktionen von Zara haben mich mehr als einmal zum schmunzeln gebracht. Und ihr Abgang bei Olympia war eindeutig auch mal etwas anderes.
Und dann natürlich noch das Setting. Eiskunstlauf ist zwar nicht so meins, aber hier war es wirklich gut. Ich finde ganz allgemein die Reihe sehr cool was die Hintergründe angeht. Denn jedes Buch und damit jede Liebesgeschichte, in dieser Reihe findet in irgendeiner Fernsehsendung statt. Und das ist mal was erfrischend neues.

Wie ist meine abschließende Meinung zum Buch?

Auch wenn Wild Games - In deinen starken Armen nicht das beste Buch der Autorin war und so seine Schwächen hatte, war es ein super gutes Buch für zwischendurch. Welches sich besonders durch die relativ wenigen Seiten schnell lesen lies. Ich bin auf jeden Fall gespannt was sich Jessica für das nächste Buch einfallen lässt und hoffe das Ty und Zara (aber auch die Paare aus den ersten Büchern) wieder ihren Cameo-Auftritt bekommen.

I am disappointed to admit that this is my least favorite book out of this series so far. I loved the first two and thought they were really fun, but this one fell flat. I found myself waiting to feel connected to the characters, their relationship, or the plot, but it never happened. I would have probably chosen to skip this book if I would have known that it did not have any connection with the previous books.

As with all of the books in this series, it focuses on a reality competition show. This book focuses on a show very similar to Dancing with the Stars, but on ice. Unlike the previous books, this one does not focus on the completion as much, which made me not enjoy the book as much. One of the reasons I love these books is because it adds the reality TV show aspect.

I also thought that the relationship between Ty and Zara was not genuine and progressed out of nothing. I felt like they went from cold to hot within a few pages. I also did not find Ty swoon-worthy at all. I also did not think that I would like the lead guy from the second book, Playing Games, but Myles was able to make Liam relatable and charming. I was hoping that this would happen with Ty, but unfortunately, it did not. I did not like Zara at all. I thought that the previous main characters were charming and funny, but Zara lacked being relatable. I do have to admit that the main characters from the first two books were pretty much the same character with a different name, but Zara most defiantly differed from the other girls.

I felt that because this book was so short, it really hindered its full potential. I am most defiantly going to continue on with this series because it is really fun and addicting, but I would recommend others to skip this book in this series.

Rezension:
Ich habe schon die vorherigen Bände dieser Reihe gelesen und freue mich nun die Chance auf den dritten Band erhalten zu haben durch Netgalley und den Bastei Lübbe Verlag, die mir ein Rezensionsexemplar zur Verfügung stellten.
Wie auch in den anderen Büchern geht es hier um die Teilnahme an einer Fernsehshow. Dieses Mal dreht sich alles um eine Show auf dem Eis. Profis sollen mit Promis eine Art Eistanzshow vorführen, werden durch eine Jury und durch das Publikum bewertet und je nach Abschneiden kommen sie weiter oder scheiden aus. Das Konzept ist bekannt.
Wir treffen in diesem Buch auf Zara, eine junge ambitionierte Eiskunstläuferin, die sich ihre Chance auf olymisches Gold vor 10 Jahren durch einen weniger ruhmreichen Abgang vom Eis versaut hat und seither eher mit Gelegenheitsjobs über Wasser hält. Sie wittert ihre Chance ein wenig Geld zu verdienen und eventuell ihr Können nochmals zu beweisen. Außerdem lernen wir Ty kennen, einen Martial Arts Kämpfer, der erst vor kurzem seine Karriere durch einen Ausraster in der Arena in den Sand gesetzt hat. Auch wenn er eigentlich nicht teilnehmen will und es nur macht weil sein Manager ihn mehr oder weniger dazu genötigt hat, weiß er doch, dass er die Aufmerksamkeit braucht, wenn er jemals wieder kämpfen will. Die anderen Charaktere des Buches werden eher beiläufig hin und wieder ins Spiel gebracht und geben daher nicht viel von sich Preis. Was ich eigentlich schade fand, aber die Geschichte dreht sich nun mal um diese Beiden, die jeder auf seine Art diese Show brauchen. Zara gelingt es nach 2 Tagen Ty mehr oder weniger dazu zu bringen an der Show aktiver teilzunehmen und es durchzuziehen.
Die Charaktere haben Charme und sind wirklich liebenswert gestaltet. Allerdings habe ich etwas mehr Tiefgang in der Story vermisst. Irgendwas fehlte um das Buch zu einem absoluten Lesehighlight zu machen. Es war eine wunderbare leichte und schöne Geschichte und gerade jetzt zur Weihnachtszeit passte das Buch wunderbar. Die Geschichte strahlte Wärme, Zuneigung und Zuversicht aus. Man kann sagen, dies ist ein sehr gutes Buch für Zwischendurch, eine Reise, einen gemütlichen Abend zu Hause. Der Stil des Schreibens kommt dem Leser sehr entgegen und ist leicht und flüssig. Allerdings hatte ich das Gefühl, es fehlte irgendwie an Intensität. Etwas, was einen das Buch absolut nicht mehr aus der Hand legen lässt, was aber nicht im Geringsten bedeutet, dass die Geschichte schlecht oder langweilig ist. Vielleicht hätte man wirklich den anderen Charakteren um Buch etwas mehr Raum geben sollen oder sie mehr in die Dialoge mit Ty und Zara einbinden sollen um mehr Spannung aufbauen zu können. Ich glaube auch das Knistern zwischen den beiden Protagonisten hätte gern noch intensiver sein können. So ist es eine schöne leichte Liebesgeschichte mit viel Herz und Gefühl. Ich kann das Buch guten Gewissens weiterempfehlen und hoffe auch andere haben ihren Spaß am Lesen und der Liebe zwischen den beiden.
Auf Grund meiner kleinen Kritikpunkte gebe ich dem Buch 4 / 5 Sterne.

I adore figure skating and I liked the previous 2 entries in this series. I ended up disappointed. The inaccuracies bothered me (triple axel anyone?) when it came to Zara and her skating. While what she did at the Olympics was funny, it also would be something unlikely to happen. Then not getting a second chance later? (If she was doing the triple axel, she would still have been very competitive). That aside, I liked Zara. Ty? Not really. I didn't like him. I didn't like his whiny-ass at the beginning. I didn't like how he thought it was okay to get into bed with Zara without asking. (Hey, he was drunk, so I guess he gets a pass? Yeah, no). That ruined the whole romance for me. And I could not get on board.
Now, I liked how the show played out. And I liked the ending. I was pleasantly surprised. Zara does get some respect and redemption.

Zara Pritchard schien der Olympia-Titel im Eiskunstlauf wie auf den Leib geschneidert.
Wirklich jeder war von ihrem Sieg überzeugt.
Doch ein folgenschwerer Moment kostete ihr nicht nur den Titel,
sondern vor allem auch ihre große, zukünftige Karriere.
Jahre später, schlägt sie sich mit kleinen Jobs durch.
Mit einer angebotenen Rolle im TV-Format Dancing with the Stars,
sieht Tara ihre Chance gekommen.
Jedoch wird ihr der MA-Kämpfer Ty, dessen Karriere sich gerade ebenfalls auf einem absteigendem Pfad befindet, an die Seite gestellt.
Und obwohl es weniger nach großer Freundschaft aussieht,
fliegen die Funken bald nicht nur aufgrund ihrer fetzigen Darbietungen auf dem Eis ..

„Wild Games – In deinen starken Armen“ ist der dritte Band der gleichnamigen Reihe von Jessica Clare.
In dieser Geschichte wird das dritte Serienformat als Spielplatz eingeweiht.
Mit dem MA-Kämpfer und der ehemaligen Olympia-Hoffnung im Eiskunstlauf geht es auf die Schlittschuhe.

Nach den ersten zwei Geschichten der Reihe, war ich neugierig auf das dritte Abenteuer.
Der Klappentext weckte meine Neugierde und die Spannung auf die unterhaltsame Liebesgeschichte von Zara und Ty.
Auch auf diesem Cover setzt sich der florale Stil weiter fort.
Durch die farbliche Gestaltung hat es etwas Kühles, das gut zum Inhalt passt.

Der Schreibstil ist auch hier angenehm und leicht.
Aus der Perspektive von Zara wird die Geschichte erzählt,
wodurch man einen sehr guten Einblick in ihre Gedanken und Gefühle bekommt.
Einen Eindruck von Ty bekommt man über kleine Interviewhappen zu Beginn jedes Kapitels geliefert.

Die Idee zu Zaras und Tys Geschichte gefiel mir sehr.
An der Umsetzung haperte es manchmal ein wenig.

Sowohl Zara als auch Ty mussten sich bereits mit negativer Presse auseinandersetzen,
die großen Einfluss auf ihr Leben hat.
Dabei werden beide Problemfälle eher grob angeschnitten.
Die Geschichte enthält hier nur wenig Tiefgang.

Zara wirkt zunächst sehr von sich eingenommen
und kühl gegenüber anderen.
Richtig recht machen, kann es ihr wohl niemand,
weshalb sie zu Teilen auch etwas hochnäsig wirkt.
Eines spürt man jedoch von Beginn an:
ihre Liebe zum Eis.
Zara ist hochmotiviert und leidenschaftlich.

Ty erfüllt durchaus das Klischee des Bad Boys.
Gefährlicher MA-Kämpfer,
hochmütig und eingebildet.
Doch ebenso leidenschaftlich bei der Sache,
wenn er etwas wirklich will!

Grundsätzlich läuft auch die Story von Zara und Ty nach einem ähnlichen Prinzip,
wie bereits in den vorangegangenen Bänden, ab.
Ein unfreiwillig zusammengeschweißtes Pärchen,
kämpft trotz zunächst auftretender Differenzen gemeinsam um den Sieg,
wobei sie sich annähern.

Obwohl der Ablauf immer gleich bleibt,
erzählt die Autorin eine unterhaltsame Geschichte.
Sie ist nicht wirklich anspruchsvoll.
Einfach mal die Gedanken ausschalten und sich vom Reality-Show-Wahnsinn
unterhalten lassen!
Dabei entsteht eine süße Liebesgeschichte,
bei der man auch noch ein wenig Mitfiebern darf.

Die Spannungskurve bleibt relativ flach,
wobei sich anhand der vergangenen Fehlentscheidungen der Protagonisten sicher noch einiges hätte herausholen lassen.
Es ist eben eine charmant-witzige Lovestory,
die mir zwar gut gefiel, dennoch nicht lange im Gedächtnis bleiben wird ...

Für den angenehmen Unterhaltungswert
vergebe ich dennoch 4 von 5 Sterne.

First off, I have to say that I love Zara and Ty. This is the 3rd book the series, but can definitely be read as a stand alone. I am not a fan of reality TV or books with reality TV plots, but Jessica Clare makes it work. This was a fun story and i couldn't put it down once I started. Zara and Ty had some spectacularly bad moments in their respective careers (Zara in the 2002 Olympics) and Ty had a Mike Tyson like moment during a MMA bout. They are both getting their 2nd chance on Ice Dancing with the Stars. Zara is a superstitious Diva and Ty is mans man. Although the story is in 1st person, from Zara's perspective, each chapter starts with a sound bite from Ty which helps add insight into his thinking. Zara and Ty make some snap judgments about each other and so start off on the wrong foot. But they quickly come to a truce and have each others back I enjoyed the snarkiness between them, but I a also liked when they were supportive and falling in love. Zara was initially very self-focused and is somewhat socially awkward. I could feel her pain when she was awkward, and while Ty gives her a hard time for some of her habits and superstitions, he doesn't make fun of her and helps smooth things over when they are around others. I totally love Ty! I was not expecting the insecurities that Ty had at the end, and they seemed opposed to what I expected from him. However, I think this is my favorite book in the series so far.

Der dritte Teil der Wild Games Reihe hat mir wieder ein wenig besser gefallen als der vorherige Teil. Diesmal geht es mit der Eiskunstläuferin Zara und MMA-Kämpfer Ty aufs Eis.

Bereits zu Beginn machten die Kapitelüberschriften neugierig auf die Begegnung zwischen Ty und Zara. Sie ist die disziplinierte Athletin und er der Kämpfer mit Biss, der seinen Ruf wieder aufbessern muss. Die Interviewauszüge von Ty waren wirklich witzig und ich mich auf viele Reibereien zwischen den beiden gefreut. Zu Beginn war es auch sehr witzig, aber dies lässt dann leider irgendwann nach.

Das Setting war ich wieder richtig gut und ich mochte auch die Trainingsarbeiten der beiden. Allerdings wäre hier meiner Meinung nach noch viel mehr Potential für den Aufbau der Chemie gewesen, dies passiert leider wieder mehr am Rande und war am Ende zu überhastet.

Diese Reihe könnte wirklich unglaublich gut sein, aber irgendwie hakt die Autorin alles immer viel zu schnell ab und es wären einige Seiten mehr nötig, um das Potential voll auszuschöpfen.

This was a really fun read! There were a few slow, predictable moments but there were plenty of surprising, page-turning moments, too! If you like stories about athletes and set in the world of sports, you will enjoy this book. And if you don't enjoy stories like that, read it for the steamy buildup as its done really well in this book! Either way, you won't regret it! Another great installment in this reality show based series. :)

MMA Fighter with a bad reputation turned Ice Dancer paired with an Olympic wash-up with bad juju? It’s an interesting combination.

I've like these books very much. Because the stories are based on really TV shows they're very fast paced and funny and I hope that Jessica reaps the fruit of over a decade’s worth of so many of these programs. This one in particular though felt a bit lacking. Perhaps because of the nature of this particular type of show the excitement factor wasn’t that high. I also felt the characters, though loveable, fell a bit flat.

Ty and Zara

I read this whole series over Thanksgiving vacation this year. I loved each and every one of them. I would love more and to see updates from each couple.

Probably my least favorite of the series but still really good. I missed the other couples.

AHHHHH, this was just the best! It was over too soon though.

It is time for Dancing on Ice. Ice skaters are being matched up with celebrities. I know you are all excited, but these are quite small celebrities hoping that this show will bring them new deals.

I wasn't sure how I felt about Zara being partnered with Ty. He seemed quite aggressive (and I didn't trust him that much due to the nose eating incident), and also quite lazy. While she is working hard to make something out of this job, and training around the clock to get in best shape. I had quite a laugh at what happened between them that caused Ty to suddenly get to working. That is one way of getting a guy on the ice, I guess.

I loved Zara and Ty, and seeing them get closer and closer, see them banter (especially the banter, oh my), see the sparks fly? Squee, I just loved it, and I was rooting for them to just kiss already. We still have to wait before it happens, but then I was absolutely squealing. I could understand the decision they took then though. Sports x sex is just not the best decision, especially not before a competition. But later on I was delighted to see how they got even closer. I loved how sweet Ty was, especially since he is such a big man (in more than one way) and Zara is small.

I didn't like the judges at all, or the choreographer. It really seemed that they all hated on our pair even with their fabulous (well, as soon as they dumped their choreographer) performances. Especially that one girl. Really, ever heard of keeping work and private separate? I get that you hate her, but this is a semi-professional show, and you better act like that.
That Jaws dance? I want to see that one in real life. Or that wedding one? Also a must-watch.

I did think it was a bit overkill that people dissed/hated/treated Zara like shit over something she did when she was a KID. Yes, she stepped off the ice during the Olympics, yes she flipped the bird. Yes, that wasn't good. But she was 13 years old. She was a kid. Do we judge you for what you did in your teens? No. So why do you all judge a girl so badly that after 12 years she still can't find a decent job, people still make fun of her, people still act crappy. Come on, why didn't she get forgiven years ago. Why didn't anyone just talk to her and let her try again?
Even during this book people treated her like crap. They never invited her to stuff, they made fun of her, the choreography and outfits were terrible, and I could go on. I just felt it was too much. It just didn't make sense. People do much worse stuff and get forgiven, but it seems this girl blew up the world with how much people dislike/distrust her.

The ending? While, yes, I do agree that she was acting a bit dramatic about things, but I could imagine that she didn't want to go back for two weeks to practice. After how shitty things went in the show, how she fell for a guy she shouldn't fall for, and add to that her own work that really got a boost thanks to the short time she was in the show. Especially the latter one. Sorry dude, I get that you are pissed that she didn't come, but hello, some people actually have to work to live and eat.
And I can imagine it must hurt that he may not have feelings while you have all the feels for the guy.

I did love the ending, and I was very happy for Zara, this is a fabulous chance for her. Congrats girl!

There are some sex scenes, and oh, boy they are pretty steamy and graphic. I do have to say I had a laugh at how it was "He put his cock against my sex." Um, whut? It goes from sex to pussy to folds to sex again. Do you know what to name it already, and could you maybe stop calling it sex. As that sounds weird, I am having sex with my sex? Someone is having sex with my sex? No, just doesn't sound good.

Bonus points to the fun confessions of Ty at the beginning of the chapters.

All in all, another fabulous book in the Games series. Recommended!

237 Seiten lang begleiten wir Zara Pritchard, die sich mit 14 Jahren bei den Olympischen Spielen im Eiskunstlauf in Salt Lake City, die Karriere zerschossen hat und Ty Randall, der Skandal-MMA-Kämpfer aus Las Vegas, der seinem Gegner die Nase abgebissen hat. Die beiden müssen bei der Show Ice Dancing with the stars ein Paar bilden um ihre jeweiligen Karrieren zu retten.

Aufgrund der Kürze des Buches kann man natürlich nicht viel Tiefgang erwarten. Die anderen Teilnehmer bleiben farblos, die eigentliche Fernsehshow und wie durch Training, Interviews und Drehs der Alltag bestimmt wird, wird gar nicht beschrieben. Die Lovestory zwischen den beiden ist ganz nett und hat süße Szenen.

Ty ist ein Charakter mit dem ich nicht ganz warm werde, er vollführt zwar nach den ersten 70 Seiten eine 180 Grad Wendung, die es etwas besser macht, aber trotzdem stößt er mich ab. Bei allem was er macht, muss auf “Männlichkeit” geachtet werden, Kostüme dürfen nicht aussehen als “gehe er zur Schwulenparade”. Am Anfang trinkt er mehrere Flaschen Bier am Tag und vermüllt das ganze Haus mit seinen Fast-Food-Verpackungen. Währenddessen nennt er Zara und andere Frauen die ganze Zeit “Braut”, beschreibt sie als “dürr” und “Hungerhaken” mit immerhin zwei “Titten”.

Generell gibt es für die Sprache einen Punkt Abzug, Formulierungen wie “das würde mir ganz schön stinken”, Beschreibungen des weiblichen Vorbaus als “Kanonenkugeln” oder Ty’s genereller Sprachgebrauch erzeugen mir ein Bild von Teenagern in den 60er Jahren und nicht von erwachsenen Menschen in den 2010ern. (Buch spielt 2013)

Es ist ein kurzweiliger Zeitvertreib und nicht schlecht, sollte ich die anderen Bücher auch lesen wollen, versuche ich es mal mit Originalsprache.

I was on the hunt for an ice skating romance and found this hidden gem! I absolutely loved this dancing with the stars on Ice romance! I loved both our main characters and how real they were! I loved all the routines and this was exactly what I was looking for.

Inhalt: In dem dritten Band der "Wild Games"-Reihe von Jessica Clare, geht es um die TV-Show "Ice Dancing with the Stars". Das Buch kann unabhängig von den ersten beiden Bänden gelesen werden und ist in sich abgeschlossen. Die in Ungnade gefallene ehemalige Olympiateilnehmerin Zara Pritchard soll in der zweiten Staffel der TV-Show die schwangere Svetlana als Profi ersetzen. Natürlich stimmt sie begeistert zu um ihre Karrierechancen und Ruf wieder zu verbessern. Im Gegensatz zu ihr ist ihr zugeteilter Parter, der MMA-Kämpfer Ty Randall wenig motiviert zu gewinnen. Er macht nur mit, da sein Manager ihn dazu genötigt hat, da er zuletzt negative Schlagzeilen gemacht hat, indem er seinem Gegner die Nase abgebissen hat. Seitdem wird er nur noch "Der Beißer" genannt. Werden sie sich irgendwie arrangieren können um die Show erfolgreich zu absolvieren?

Meinung: Das Cover gefällt mir auch wie bei den Vorgängern gut. Es passt perfekt zu den anderen Bänden. Ebenso der Titel passt zum Rest der Reihe. Auch hier hat mir der Schreibstil wieder gefallen. Das Buch war gut und flüssig zu lesen.
Die Idee und das Konzept der Buchreihe und auch diesem Buch finde ich toll. Allerdings hatte ich mit diesem Band leider so meine Probleme. Die Protagonistin Zara fand ich die meiste Zeit unsympathisch. Das lag daran, dass sie ziemlich naiv rüber kam, indem sie geglaubt hat, dass es in der Show wirklich um Können und Kreativität geht. Sie hatte nicht mit der Vorgabe von bestimmten Choreografien, Kostümen und Rollenbilder gerechnet, sondern gedacht, dass alles echt ist was gezeigt wird. Ab und zu fand ich sie auch einfach zu sehr von sich und ihrem Können überzeugt. Mit ihrem Glauben am Glücksbringer, Glücksrituale und Juju konnte ich leider nicht viel anfangen beziehungsweise es wurde mir zu oft erwähnt. Dass sie ihren eigenen Kopf hatte, fand ich sehr gut. Sie hat sich nicht alles gefallen und vorschreiben lassen.
Ty gefiel mir da schon besser. Man hat gemerkt, dass hinter der harten Schale als MMA-Kämpfer doch ein einfühlsamer und toller Mann steckt.
Ich fand die beiden als Paar eigentlich eine interessante Mischung. Ich hätte mir, aber gewünscht, dass zwischen ihnen mehr die Fetzen fliegen und Funken sprühen. Mir fehlt einfach etwas der Biss und dass mehr auf die beiden einzeln, aber auch zusammen eingegangen wird.
Auch die verschiedenen Teams fand ich waren diesmal nichts besonderes, da man nicht so viel von ihnen mitbekommen hat.

Fazit: Ich wollte das Buch wirklich mögen, aber leider kann es nicht mit den ersten beiden Bänden mithalten. Ich hoffe, dass der nächste Band wieder an den Erfolg von den anderen Bänden anknüpfen kann. Ich beginn gespannt auf die Geschichte von Brodi, den wir schon im zweiten Band ein bisschen kennenlernen durften.

I love Jill Myles (Jessica Clare/Jessica Sims) books and this one is no different. The Games books have become some of my favorites and this is one I sat down and devoured like it was raspberry shortcake and I hadn't had dessert in some time.

I loved the names of the ice skaters. I had to laugh because one of my best pals growing up, her sister was a competitive skater and I think they go through some sort of baby namer thing where they are cursed to skate by the names they get at birth. Zara Pritchard took the trail leading to infinite demise in professional sports at the ripe old age of 14. Now ten years later she has a chance to redeem her name on the reality show, Ice Dancing With the Stars, and there is no way in hell she is going to screw this up. Intro her partner, MMA fighter and publicity horror show, Ty Randall, who only three months ago--bit his opponent during a fight, spitting a bit of his nose out on the mat. He's lazy, drunk and difficult to work with. Until she finds something to blackmail him with and after a little while they actually find that they like being around one another.

Jill Myles is really good at the reality TV end of these books. I've said it before but I think the woman might need a self-help group because she is just too good at doing the mental aspect of how everyone on one of those shows work, but I don't want her to go because I LURVE these books and I want more.

I'd give this 6 kittens meowing but I kept squeezing the last one and it kept purring so that must mean it rates even higher.

I think I'll go for 3.5 stars for this one. The reason being I think it was a little simplistic and cliché, but it was also sweet and satisfying.

Kooky virginal but strong willed young woman meets big beefy chap who is grumpy at first and then flirty and kind. So they fall for each other, misunderstanding ensues, then Happy Ever After. It was incredibly predictable.

Predictable isn't all bad though. I liked Zara, she had interesting quirks that made her not quite like all the usual heroines. I hated that she was a virgin at 25 and generally acted quite young but her attitude was often feisty and I liked the little superstitions. Ty was less well rounded, a little dull actually, but he was sweet with the whole handshake thing.

I quite liked how it played out, they were a likeable couple and the ice dancing tv show was an interesting back drop. Quite fun if you like those kind of shows. The last dance scene was very cute!

To summarise, a simple and predictable but cute and satisfying romance. Fun and flirty with hardly any angst, a good read if you want a light romance with a happy ever after.

I actually kind of can't believe I finished this book. I think it must have been because it was over so fast, or maybe because I have an undeniable fascination with tragic comedies.

What I liked

That it was set on ice. In the midst of ice games. That the title's name is heavily and unashamedly punned.

What I didn't like

Everything else. Proud example right here of a formulaic NA that just misses the mark of acceptability. Main Chick was a little too hyper/proud/silly/naive/determined/virginal (boy, am I ever getting sick of that one). Main Guy was a little too buff/brawny/dicky/sportsy/pigheaded/utterly-ridiculous-and-boring-in-general. Romance was a little too rushed/unbelievable/did-I-mention-rushed/empty. Storyline was...okay, actually. About as cliched and formulaic as the rest of them. It just felt like everything happened in a milisecond with no emotional or situaional build up and I was left scratching my head thinking '...the fuck just happened?'

And not really caring either way.

But I did finish it, so...2 Stars. Yay time.

I just wasn't feeling this one at all. The depiction of Ty is puzzling - I don't understand why knowing what he did, Zara would fall in love with him?

TW: SA the reality show makes them live together, they are strangers, and he's a total asshole to her. Then he drunkenly gets into bed with her while she's sleeping and starts groping her. When she wakes up and fights him off, he accidentally headbutts her in the face. That's when he finally stops laughing about it and starts apologizing, and she "blackmails" him into being nice to her and participating. Yeah, so there's a name for what he did and where exactly was it going to stop?

After that, I just couldn't buy the romance, plus he bit a guy's nose off. Partially. He's like "I was just in fight mode and pissed off" or something like that's any kind of justification? He doesn't really show any remorse or explain what he'd do to stop it happening again. This man is a walking bouquet of red flags.
